IbnIslam: quak op. U said the man is unidentified and yet it is convenient for u to link him to the north. This man could be from any part of the country. Am Not justifying any of the act but let's try to refrain from speculations when we don't have facts. Ur style of presentation can only promote hatred knowing fully well we have so many bigots and mediocres on NL who only wait to read and pour insults especially on the north and Muslims. Just like I have always said NL is junk and the moderators are quak for pushing everything to the front page. At this point in Nigeria, social platforms needs to be more sensitive. As expected I know some will attempt to throw insult at me but by doing that will further prove my point and expose the bigots am talking about. 1. 'Unidentified' in this kind of news simply means his name isn't known. You can only identify someone in the news via his name. 2. The man is said to be from the North, that can easily be determined by the language he spoke with the vigilante plus mode of dressing plus his accent. Whichever way, Northerner or not, the burnt man could have easily averted all these had he cooperated with the guard. That still doesn't justify the mob's actions too. |

WiseBully: Awards and rewards for these special few must be treated like Divine right. Only a few know the mental, emotional and social costs of attaining such a demanding academic height. If you haven't been there, you can never understand it forever! That's just your opinion. Awards for academic excellence is not compulsory, it is only necessary for the sake of encouraging the achiever and the ones behind. She definitely wasn't the only one who made a first class in the school, why shouldn't the others be awarded scholarships, offered jobs and given gifts? Did the others not excel academically? |

WiseBully: Averagely intelligent people detest academic excellence. You are a true picture of Nigeria where mental minions rule over mental giants. Whose fault is it that mental minions rule mental giants? Name one country where mental giants rule mental minions. ...and please, understand that I'm in support of the idea that academic excellence should be encouraged, I just don't see it as a birthright. |

Kingzy4pep: You spoke well anyway, but to the best of my knowledge, I have to also let you know that there are no laid down procedures in employing the best graduating student. It's always done on that day of the convocation. During our's, the dude was employed that day and was given a scholarship to further in any school of his choice(overseas). Understand that having a first-class is not a guarantee for you to receive ANY special treatment. However, it is strongly advised that their various institutions should recognise and commend the efforts of these set of people. It is NOT injustice if no organisation award her scholarship, employment, gifts etc. |

koboko69: There is nothing to edit. Stop being childish and forget about the typo in external, cos if u are not blind, u can see it correctly spelt in other places. I typed it correctly. Modify one comment of yours on the firstpage and acknowledge that you distorted facts. It is not hard...unless you're dishonest and arrogant. It doesn't have to be the original post. koboko69: Obj rose on an oil cruise with a minimum wage of 4k, and a first budget of just 800bn. Oil rose steadily all through Obj' s tenure. U say 30bn is not depleted, when a previous government had to use almost $20bn to defend the Naira and support the economy when oil didn't even get as low as 28usd per barrel. Why are u not being truthful with yourself. The polices you can achieve successfully with a robust reserve is not the same as the one u can achieve with a smaller reserve, except u want Nigeria bankrupt. Don't be ignorant, educate yourself. I'll show you with the purchasing power of the naira, relative to the dollar (Using Sunnyb0b0's example). In 1999-2000 (Obasanjo's first year in office), N1 would be in dollars N1 ÷ 22 (Using the official exchange rate) = $0.0455 N800billion will be = $36,363,600,000 Today, the same amount $36,363,600,000 would be $36,363,600,000 × 199 (official exchange rate) = N7.24Trillion So, the N800bn budgeted in 1999/2000 is actually equivalent to N7.24Trillion today as against Buhari's N6.08Trillion. Technically, Obasanjo had a bigger budget with lesser resources. What else do you have to say? 4000Naira Minimum wage will be equivalent to 36181Naira using the same calculation. Let's not even go to the value of oil price and external reserves. |

koboko69: I am sure u saw the Okonjo Iweala part also on the original article. There is nothing to edit, i can't even touch it once its on FP. Asides the controversial debt, what else are not facts there? Okonjo was talking about the Total debt stock. You portrayed the same figure as the esternal external debt stockYou have clearly distorted facts...probably with the intention to deceive...or maybe out of ignorance. To show you're honest, simply set the records straight and possibly, apologise. If you can't edit the post, edit one of your comments on the frontpage and acknowledge the distortion...and tender an apology for the distortion. koboko69: 1. The point is while others had enough forex in the reserves, with an higher oil price, Buhari inherited a depleted reserves of about $30bn, subsidy debts of about N600bn, oil price lower than 40usd.
How exactly is the economy to look like with the facts? 2. Even Okonjo blamed the econmy today on Jonathan's lack of political will to save, and was already sounding alarm about a very tough economy when dollar was even still as high as 75 usd. Are these lies? 1. Buhari did not inherit a 'depleted' foreign reserve, in comparism with when PDP came on board. Obasanjo had it far worse. 2. If in that case, that's why we voted the present government into power...to do what Jonathan could not do. What has the present administration done other than to 'hypocritically' blame the past administration? Let them get to work, we'll support them. |

First, admit that you're distorting facts by claiming the external debt was over $60bn...after that, go back to the original post, modify and apologize for mis-informing people. You shouldn't shy away from that if you're honest. Second, what is the issue if not that distortion of facts? |

Right now Nigerians are feeling the pain of mismanagement GEJ administration wasn't prefect neither is Buhari's administration...but That is not the problem, the issue here is the stinking hypocrisy of the APC and its supporters. They ascribe even their own faults to Jonathan and never give credits to him for the sound economic policies and all the positives of his administration. The only thing they see is the negatives. Yes, during the elections, both the APC and the PDP shared various items to gain votes which included money. Why then is the APC blaming the PDP for exactly the same things they're guilty of?
