It all boils down to interest. I study each person and know what interest them most and talk about. This female only interest is latest Nigeria gossip, it will be pointless to start talking about international politics. If you like football we talk football, if you like computer and mobile gadgets we talk about the specs of latest phone in town etc

@ op, reason those guys can't keep up as you say is because is they don't have an opinion on the subject matter, they are indifferent. They will simply just agree with you grin

One day the ghost worker will get angry and defend himself , like someone said, haven't they gotten rid of ghost workers, I remember okonjo iweala saying the government has saved lot money from ghost workers, I guess they are still saving.

Don't blame us for not trusting this government, corruption now has different names, and ghost workers might be the latest entry. Steal money and say it was saved through getting rid of ghost workers.

The government has all the resources to bring an end to the insurgency, if the result are not positive, it means their tactics, commitment and many other things are not right and this need to change.

Alright, be ready to bring in more soldiers from UN.

By the way, if Nigerian has enough soldiers to man each state during the general election, then why is the battle in borno and yobe proven so difficult.

"Abdullahi v. Pfizer, Inc.
Main article: Abdullahi v. Pfizer, Inc.

In 1996, an outbreak of measles, cholera, and bacterial meningitis occurred in Nigeria. Pfizer representatives traveled to Kano, Nigeria to administer an experimental antibiotic, trovafloxacin, to approximately 200 children. Local Kano officials report that more than 50 children died in the experiment, while many others developed mental and physical deformities.[87] The nature and frequency of both fatalities and other adverse outcomes were similar to those historically found among pediatric patients treated for meningitis in sub-Saharan Africa.[88] In 2001, families of the children, as well as the governments of Kano and Nigeria, filed lawsuits regarding the treatment.[89] Representing the government is Babatunde Irukera. According to news reports, "[r]esearchers did not obtain signed consent forms, and medical personnel said Pfizer did not tell parents their children were getting the experimental drug."[90] The lawsuits also accuse Pfizer of using the outbreak to perform unapproved human testing, as well as allegedly under-dosing a control group being treated with traditional antibiotics in order to skew the results of the trial in favor of Trovan. Pfizer denied these claims, and subsequently produced an approval letter for testing from the Nigerian Ethics Committee. The Nigerian government insisted that it was a fake and a panel of Nigerian medical experts agreed that the letter had been concocted and backdated by the company's lead researcher in Kano. They went on to conclude that Pfizer never obtained authorization from the Nigerian government to give the unproven drug to children and infants.[91]

In 2007, Pfizer published a Statement of Defense letter.[92] The letter makes several claims, including that Pfizer donated 18 million in Nigerian Naira (NGN) (about $216,000 in 1996 US dollars (USD)),[93] that the drug's oral form was presented as safer and easier to administer, that the administration of Trovan saved lives, and that no unusual side effects, unrelated to meningitis, were observed after 4 weeks.

In June 2010, the US Supreme Court rejected Pfizer's appeal against a ruling allowing lawsuits by the Nigerian families to proceed.[94]

In December 2010, WikiLeaks released US diplomatic cables, which indicate that Pfizer had "used dirty tricks to avoid clinical trial payout". The company had hired investigators to find evidence of corruption against the Nigerian attorney general to persuade him to drop legal action.[95] Washington Post reporter Joe Stephens, who helped break the story in 2000, called these actions "dangerously close to blackmail."[90] In response, the company has released a press statement describing the allegations as "preposterous" and stating that they acted in good faith.[96]"

Pfeizer is a company and not the US govt and did you see how your people sold themselves out
Stop getting emotional and use your head, base on the urgency on ground, they should use an actual lab rat (animal), infect the animal with the blood virus and then give the animal the drug and see how it reacts. Zmapp don't know how many dose should even given to a patient, drugs is not water that you take any amout, an extra 1g can change from a drug to a poison what is refered to as over dose which have any adverse effect,

You bring up the story of Pfizer is exact reason I'm not too comfortable with this trial drug, what's the point of trying to cure a diseases and end up either killing the patients or causing permanent injury.

Did I mention anything about US?, is zmapp ia US govt? Why is USA speaking on its behalf , smh.

naijababe: White Collar and Arrested Development, both decent but not great in my books

I can't wait for House of cards S3 to air, I wanted to punch my screen after watching S2 finale angry Only the Underwoods are smart, everybody else especially Garrett and his wife are dunces. They better bring some formidable foes who can match the Underwoods, politics for politics and guile and guile in S3 otherwise, I will stop watching.
House of cards : exactly, season one was much better to me, season two made him look super wise than others as you pointed out.

The show rating of house of cards season 2 dropped in comparison to season 1 because 'many critic were concerned at the domineering presence of Underwood who appears to have no worthy adversaries' might weaken people's interest in the show.

I will look out for season three first three episodes only to see if any changes.

I am tempted to think he is sacrificing his children for power. Goooassssshhhh! Disgusting.
Stop getting personal, leave his private life alone, even pdp you so much love wouldn't get personal to bring his lost children into discuss after losing an election

JadeWilliam: PS: Can someone here who has seen The Blacklist, b a darling& tell me if Liz's husbnd Tom Keen (in The Blacklist) is a spy or woteva he's bn suspected of! I'm not thrilled 2go 4d season 2.
Tom keen is a spy and an under cover agent for the man named Berlin. Who Berlin was, was told towards the end of the season. Berlin was a man whose daughter was killed and her body part was sent to him piece by piece. He escaped and after those who killed his daughter. What has this got to do with Liz and Red, we don't know.

Berlin is after reddignton. Berlin is a man Red is afraid of because he doesn't know athing about Berlin.

Tom keen was planted into the life of Liz, the all love and marriage thing was all pretence by Tom to keep Liz under his watch but why? Why is Liz who is just an FBI profiler so important.

Tom works for Berlin, who is Berlin and what does he want, season 2.

JadeWilliam: I'l totally welcome ideas of other interesting series cos ppl on dis thread hav good taste wen it comes 2good series. It was frm d recommendations I got here dat made me go 4d series I'm enjoying now

The worst Tv show I saw dis year is "HANNIBAL".
Almost everyone is up to date with good tv shows, one is left with shows one watches just to pass time.

If you like Sherlock Holmes crime detectives, I recommend 'Sherlock' . It's a British tv show with three seasons now, each season has three episode which airs for 1hr 20mins.

Try 'sleepy hollow', it's a supernatural tv series, a little scary, witchcraft. Decent show.

Scandal, seen you've already obtained season 2 and 3, interesting show

'Under dome the dome' , will appear like a low budget tv show but it's decent, worth watching in absence of other better tv shows.

You talked of Uzo aduba (crazy eyes) below is a screen shoot of her tweet during the World Cup supporting nigeria.

No matter how old you are, you just can't be under someone's roof and do as you like. When you have your apartment, then you can go to the moon if you want.

My only advice if possible, let her get her own apartment.

Adult want freedom but when in presence of other bigger adult that you depend on, respect is key. It sometimes annoying when asked many questions about your movements but that's the price you have to pay.

Funny question, why is she not married at 27, na to arrange marriage sharply
TV/Movies › Re: Your Most Boring TV Shows Currently Airing by lafuria1(m): 11:29am On Jul 29, 2014
jcgodfrey: Oh, too bad. He has another 5 seasons to go. Lol. Cus I don't see The Blacklist halting anytime soon. Kudos to Bryan Cranston, good actor, nowhere near as good as James Spader though.
What I like Blacklist for, its not your usual hero thingy like 24. Its devious, and unpredictable. And ofcus when it comes to delivering lines, I can't think of an actor better than James Spader. Very witty, very funny, and compassionate!
When I was watching Boston Legal, all those court-room drama, I used to be like, this guy is unbelievable! There was an episode with Kerry Washington-Scandal lady(BL- season 2). I just had to stand after the episode and give a one-minute clapping ovation! His speeches, his tone, his facial features, even thinking about it now, its breath-taking. BL aired for 5 seasons, n he won best actor for 3. Speechless. I think 24 was just compensated halfway. And if Breaking Bad aired when BL was at aits prime, sorry for Bryan Cranston, cus he'll be going home empty-handed! Lol
Lastly, I know most ppl here didn't watch BL, but u can watch his award-collecting speeches (2004,05,07). It just tells u what the man's all about.
Now he needs to do movies and land Oscars.
Yes, I didn't even know of Spader, thought he was a new actor, later learnt he featured in Boston legal which I did see around in the market but didn't even consider it for a second.

As for movies, he will be playing the role of Ultron, the villain in avengers 2. I bet it will be amazing.
TV/Movies › Re: Your Most Boring TV Shows Currently Airing by lafuria1(m): 10:27am On Jul 29, 2014
jcgodfrey: The best tv series of this year by faaaar, and I don't watch I'm umb series, is The Blacklist! Ah! James Spader- another 2 Emmys coming up to add to his 3 already won for Boston Legal. This guy is just...marvelous. You can't win 3 Emmys and be ordinary.
Someone said Blacklist is boring. Lolz. Probably to high for ur I.Q, no offense.
Some actors' monologues can be very challenging for lesser thinking minds to digest, true. So I wasn't surprised James Spader beat Jack Bauer(Keifer Sutherland) 3 times in 4 years for the best actor Emmy award. Most Nigerians like 24, I do too. But acting-wise, Jack Bauer can't compare to James Spader.
So, The Blacklist it is for me.
In case u doubt, its been nominated for the upcoming Emmy, the last Golden Globe, and its gonna be aired immediately after the SuperBowl next year February(the most coveted time-slot in tv. A series is chosen to air every year). All this just for season 1!
I'm a very very big fan of the blacklist because of spader, I sometimes talk like 'him "if you trying to impress with this write up of yours, I tell you it isn't working" lol.
Unfortunately for some reason not known and doesn't make sense, James Spader wasn't nominated for an Emmy award. I was like how.
The blacklist didn't get any nomination. My belief is they want to give it to Cranston (breaking bad Walter white) so nominating Spader along side him might not make it happen. Instead they included house of card spacey.
TV/Movies › Re: Your Most Boring TV Shows Currently Airing by lafuria1(m): 6:02am On Jul 29, 2014
Over the years, have come to conclusion that views on TV shows are relative and all boils down to personal taste. I see people saying Telemundo is boring, I don't watch any of their shows but I know people who are very much glued to it.

I'm currently watching under the dome, and it isn't boring to me, I will be downloading the latest episode today.

Also, most TV shows released or currently showing during the summer seem not to be exciting unlike shows released in the autumn.
