I object to the notion that because one has been designated a moderator, he must block threads he considers useless or lack direction

1: Is he/she an expert in the field under discuss
2: Is he/she in a position to be unbiased (is it possible for nigerians let alone nl members to be unbiased!?)
3: What are the parameters or criteria to apply before determining that a thread should be closed

These mods all think they know it all and a demi-gods in the forum. i am sure they have real problems at home, the nerve!? angry

I love Nigerians, they are so bleeping easy to deceive. bloody buffoons.

$2.5 billion unaccounted for, we we all open our mouth yaaaa shocked like fools

All the Federal Government needs to do is say what actions they intend to take or start making arrests, but when it is all said and done, they will simply quote John 8:1-11 Go and Sin no More

We all have forgotten how many billions ex-governor Ibori stole, or Atiku's investment in SONAGOL or the fact that every regime wants to do a National ID card Scheme that CHAMS always wins and fails to deliver but we still go ahead anyway,

We have the minds and reasoning of dumb babies

@danacreate
Nigerians is Nigeria and Nigeria is Nigerians. So when Prof Dora talk about Nigeria she is also directly talking about Nigerians, so then MR. poster i don,t understand ya way of reasoning. If you are the minister what would you do anyway?
1: Recognize that the problem is two-fold (A) Negative Perception+Zero Foreign Relations Policy
2: Accept that she has an intellectual gap when it comes to Re-branding and needs the active help of Nigerians and no fire4fire approach as she did in NAFDAC will work with perception (People need to see actual evidence not snake-oil salesmanship)
3: She must resign from her current position because public opinion matters when it comes to PR and she cannot do it from a PDP platform or an FG-sponsored one. Nigerians are tired of all the deception and facade

We can scream and curse all we want but until we actually start doing something direct and proactive, we will remain arm-chair activists and professional typists with an opinion

I don't gives a Fu$$#ck tongue

While y'all are bitching about what needs to be fixed and what needs to be re-branded, a whole lot of the people you claim to corrupt bastards and fools are smiling to the bank, when Nigeria eventually crumbles to dust, they will come back to sweep our bones and build new roads, hospitals, houses, schools etc to support their families who will (guess what, ) rule you once again.

We are smart enough to know that Akinyuli is not one for charm or wit (or intellect as shown in recent times) but we still dignify her actions with our presumptuous arguments (is she doing the right thing?, may God strengthen her to complete the work she's started, nigerians need re-branding, etc)

Let us face facts, re-branding and the whole lot of Nigerians has always been a shameless sham, so let us kick the bitch to the curb (and her skanky purse after her)

hmmmm, and why are we just sitting here typing away while old fools and young rapscallions rape this nation every waking day of the year.

none of our comments (mine inclusive) will change anything, they will come up with various grandiose projects to stave poverty and bring vision 20:2020 to fruition, alas they will fall by the way-side and claim that some official stole billions and some audit exposed a scandalous fraud with millions$ missing. Justice Anaconda will breath smoke through his rusty mustache brandishing some fictitious list of culprits and we will come to this forum and discuss issues (that is all we ever do here, discuss issues) with no single effective solution in sight.

Abeg. we do not need information on how public officers plan to defraud the nation, $500 million dollars, paltry sum if you ask me. (Abuja stadium alone was built with $340 million, excluding other expenses like Ben-Bruces' contract that was never executed,

TV/Movies › Re: Is Rita The Koko Mansion's Biggest Mistake? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 6:25pm On Aug 07, 2009
I think the organizers of the show are doing their best with the lot they have got.

If you are a woman and you can speak intelligently (and fluently) then count yourself a very privileged individual.

It is amazing the depth and intelligence you get from girls these days, their idea of street smarts will make you wonder what kind of families they grew up in. what kind of harsh emotional conditions will reek out such an individual her age, saying what she says with enough gusto to make Obama look like David Mark.

Let us blame it on the way Nigeria treats education, from kindergarten to university, we churn out more cheese than cream, our celebrities have dead-beat cliches as a strong vocabulary and our politicians are worse off with their antique grammar from way-back 70s.

Please we get what we deserve. I truly hope she wins and becomes exposed internationally, if criticism won't get Nigerians to put up a good act let alone a honest one, then international shame should.

I met a popular Nollywood actor and did not spare the chance to have a chat. man i was severely brutalized by his acting (off-camera). the guy made me feel liek i was in a cheesy nollywood movie.

Rita, you go girl, be a kokolet afterall kokolets are only good for one thing wink
Nairaland General › Re: Is Nigerian Police Your Friend? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 5:11pm On Jul 31, 2009
I had this vivid experience with the Police in Ijesha Surulere in 2001

It was about 9.00PM four guys in driving with an expired vehicle license. (or so we thought)

We got pulled over at the check-point and one of them with an AK-47

1: asked us all to come out of the car for a body search, we did, he searched our pockets, shoes, back, butts
2: asked to see our ID or Drivers license (only one of us had a job that came with an ID, 1 with a Drivers license and Me and teh other guy had no sort of ID)
3: I noticed he had a hausa accent as he spoke so i proceeded to greet him in Hausa and try to strike up a jocular conversation, he obliged, so i bought him a cigarette, while the others search the hood for the Chassis and Engine number.
4: My friend apparently impatient and pissed asked them to hurry up that it was  dark and there have been robberies of late.
5: My Hausa friend heard and immediately lost it that instant. He rushed up to my guy and slapped him across the face,
6: All the remaining policemen (3) immeidately took of their name tags as my friend threatened to make reports and even use Voodoo to curse them all.
7: At that point i noticed that , hey, this Hausa dude was actually half-sober and his breath stank of that ol nigga (paraga).
8. I mustered the courage  to engage him once more with a bottle of Squadron and a chocky smile. he again obliged. and we talked about the hard police life, low salaries, dangerous working conditions and life generally.
9: We were let off the hook this time,

One small Squadi, hhmmn i wondered. I pity the next fool they come across that night.

The Police is definitely not my Friend

I sometimes wonder who teh real fools are, the ones who are so pretentious of their intentions on the good they will actually do with the money (old story) or,
the ones who actually discuss the matter as if it has serious discussion substance. we all know the end of this story so why not move on and forget about it, scandalous stories will emerge after 2011 on this matter and you will still come back (some of you) with your inky fingers to say the same shit you ave just said here.

I tire for una oooh tongue
Politics › Re: Alleged World Bank Document Names Top Nigerians And Their Loot In Foreign Banks by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 2:01pm On Jul 31, 2009
i wonder why you are all bitching among yourselves, as if that would steal some coins from these bastards and their children.

The truth is We (The People of Nigeria) have let this happen,  that is why they are hardly bothered about the power situation, or crime rates, or ritual killings or crooked policemen, or pastors who steal and impregnate married women, scandalous Senators and Governors etc.

You can scratch all your concerns and frustrations on the walls of Nairaland, it won't amount to dry shit! you will all remain anonymous, unheard, unfelt and useless because every Naira stolen only you (the People of Nigeria) will feel it and your childrens' children will feel the consequences of corruption in the country, is Umaru Dikko's son not gainfully employed in one of Nigeria esteemed Financial services firms, what about Babangida's sons, Now contrast what is happening to you and your kids or what will happen as a result of all these stolen monies, just because you can afford to uses company time and internet to write your stagnant thoughts does not make you a man of action.

What needs to happen is for us all to stop asking God to save Nigeria as if he is actually in the building (duugh!). We (The People of Nigeria) need to stand united and recognize that.

1: Religious differences only unite at one issue, the Wealth of the Nation squandered by our God-anointed Leaders
2: Ethnic differences only unite at one issue, the Wealth of the Nation squandered by our elected and appointed leaders
3: The Threat of War is just a threat to keep you from moving to action.

What must be done,

We must list out all the known Crooks not forgetting their imanns, pastors, babalawos and herbalists (who have sacrificed millions of children)
We must kill them all starting from their children to the parents. (make sure to kill the babalawos, imans, pastors and herbalists first)

Then we can go to WAR already  grin

Only one of 2 things can be happening here.

1: You are a pastor or Imam
2: You are a sheep following your shepherd.

Do you need the rain to fall before you actually believe that the country has critical problems that need critical solutions (not your e go betta attitude)
Are you going to keep sitting on the fence saying that as long as nuttin touch your pocket it is all good.
The failures you make today you will not pay for today, in fact you won't pay for it at all. your children will (no joke) the condition we are in today and millions of kids on the streets ( i know yours are not) were not created by the people of today (we simply allow it to continue). they were created by people the likes of Yar-Adua and his age mates,

I guess you are channeling your anger or acceptance of this situation by simply going to church or every deliverance session that holds each week, God will never deliver this country, We must deliver it ourselves, by simply rising to the occasion.

I am surprised we are all complaining, are we not the bloody fools who sit back and watch, what is N8.2 billion after all, you much vaunted legend awards was sponsored by Ben Bruce who fleeced the same NTA during for over N30 billion COJA contract scam, yet we all spend literally millions of naira watching movies and listening to his radio, we praise him anytime he steps out and wish we were just like the bleaching bastard.

Contrast Japan Korea World Cup Stadium a 66k seater for 265 million dollars to Abuja Stadium (60k seater)which cost us $468 million.

Please we should all stop making dirty noise and go back to work, oh how we all loved to be heard. Bleep@# shut up you are all sounding like broken records stitched together with dry cello-tape.

N8 billion is nothing in the ranks of stolen monies our public officers continue to steal under our noses everyday, as long as we all come here to pout and fold our arms, our children will suffer the shame of eating from dustbins and getting killed by firing squad or AIDs from prostitution. while Mr Okiro and his ilk. toast to prosperity in far away holiday homes abroad

In all honesty I don't particularly hate the man for his past. However he must show
remose and repent.

His coming back might be to the advantage of Nigerians as his aim might be to repear the
damages he caused, win the confidence of the general populace back and receive God's favour
before the last minutes.
grin what you have just said is typical of 80% of Nigerians (Home and Abroad) we have very short memories of traumatic events in our lives. so much so we have repressed them to the point of Stupidity (a poor ability to understand or to profit from experience ). The other 10% are Nigerians who live in the dark ages (Illiterate, Bush, in the Cemetery) and the other 10% are simply Pastors and Imans.

How can you expect a Man his likes to be remorseful and try to repair the damage, since when have you seen a Black African President become remorseful for his grave misdeeds.

The good thing though is that they Die eventually, Bad thing, they always have one worse to replace them
