@poster.

It is repeated in history countless of times. no one is responsible for your ill-fortune, not God, not the Devil and definitely not the poor girl (even if she is a witch)

You are in control of your life and responsible for your actions (which have consequences). if you trace your problems back you will discover they have an origin that ultimately leads to a decision you made, a choice you took and a line-of-action you engaged to bring you to your present predicament.

nobody is chasing you and even if your family members or enemies are planning and executing evil against you. YOU determine whether they succeed or not. God just shows you opportunities, he never picks you up by the collar and washes your arse so you can walk right. (same thing with teh devil)

release the poor girl. it is not her, but you with the Bad Luck. (you had it coming a long time - just did not realise it) grin

If this is true and I do not believe that Abuzola is so contrived as to lie about this, then you must show evidence that his posts run contrary to NL rules, while I am personally averse to structures that bridle the freedom of speech, i am not in agreement that we should be assaulted with offending posts no matter how tolerable.

Please provide evidence that Abuzola's posts are offensive.

It appears your a muslim who knows nothing about other religious background and depends on hear say. Islam has its own theology just as the catholic Church has hers also. don't be soo coy.

a fast-rising economy bolstered by the Jubilee project which will soon do away with their dependence on Nigeria oil and energy (foundation infrastructures to a solid economy development) and with a population like theirs. there is a chance that our highly-skilled and literate (but desparetely unemployed) will pose a threat to Ghana's patiently-awaiting-the-dividends-of-true-democracy populace.

What do you think will happen. first the unskilled will fill every nook angling for well-paying but menial jobs like road-sweepers, hair-stylists, road-side cooks, house-helps. then the skilled will fill every cranny for white-collar jobs (twice the efficiency but half the price) for a piece of 24/7 power. wink

The sort of scenario that played-out when the tenderling called South Africa broke free from the Apartheid regime. the poor and always-in-arms Blacks of South Africa could not summon the intellectual grit it needed to remain indispensible in a new South Africa that required re-building and integration. Then came Nigerians in droves to fill in the gaps. what do you think is the reaction today (not District 9 please)

Christianity Etc › Re: Warning ! Stop Abusing Men Of God,pastors ! by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 11:26am On Oct 20, 2009
There is such a thing as a Man of God, it is in the Bible but has not found a foundation in modern Christianity. what we have are ones anointed by the Holy spirit to be Teachers (Beware of False Teachers), Pastors (Shepherd the Flock) and Prophets. These offices are placed upon righteous and faithful Men of God (In the True sense a Man of God would have to be in the league of Elisha, Noah and Elijah, Enoch).

Whenever I hear posters like this on NL pleading for peeps to be very cautious about offending a MAN of GOD. I am either near tears for lack of a means to clobber their heads with a mace tacked with dull nails. (or some other dastardly painful means of torture) or so angry i end up ruining my entire day taking time to prove them wrong (or correct their dim minds)

Please read your Bible before you make a post as this one

1 Thessalonians 5:21: "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.''

2 Timothy 3:16-17: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.''

Take Jesus own example by looking at Matthew 7:15-23, we find Jesus gives us the guideline for determining false prophets:

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

A major flaw in our reasoning as Christians is that we have no rule on making the distinction between real men of God and False ones. Sometimes we tend to evaluate men according to the size of their ministries, their popularity with men, or their endowment of certain gifts, etc.

There is a common-sense (albeit) scriptural approach to this dilemma; you must check the fruit

HOW TO CHECK THE FRUIT OF A TRUE MAN OF GOD

The Lord said in verse 20 of Matthew 7 that we would know them by their fruits. What are these fruits? Galatians 5:22-24 defines them as being the fruit of the Spirit. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." We are told to look at their lives and see if these fruits are predominant in them and examine if they are living the crucified life. Of course, we must allow for imperfections that have not been overcome yet; but we should readily see the fruit of the Spirit in more abundance than the imperfections. One way we can check this is to notice the words that a man speaks. The Scripture says in Matthew 12:33-35, "Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.''

PRIDE AND LUSTFUL LIFESTYLES

Many people have been led astray when they could have recognized the wrong spirit simply by the braggadocios and prideful words of men who exalted themselves instead of Christ. Others would have been spared if they had examined the lifestyles of certain men who claim to be God's anointed. Their lifestyles are far from being temperate, reflecting the most expensive and extravagant clothes, private jets, homes, cars, etc. This is not referring to well-dressed men and women, nice homes, and quality things but the extremes which reveal anything but the nature of Christ. Of course, neither is the other extreme of poverty the nature of Christ. Men of God should live temperate, moderate lives, overcoming poverty and avoiding extreme wealth. Jesus always went about giving to the poor. He never stored up His wealth even though He apparently handled a lot of money, thus the need for a treasurer, Judas (John 13:29). He gave away the things He could have used on Himself, yet He never lacked as He went about ministering. He should be our example today. The affection and lust for the things of this world do not portray the Spirit of Christ.

A TRUE MAN OF GOD IS A REFLECTION OF JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF

Let us analyze the gist of our religious leaders to quickly reveal the God they serve. Do they speak of God's kingdom, His righteousness, and His love; or does their conversation center on the things of this world and life? Are they peacemakers, sowing mercy and love? Are they gentle and patient, or do they lose their temper easily? Do they walk in faith, or are they continually looking to other men for their needs to be supplied? Are they always pressuring people for money, or do they simply receive those gifts of money as unto the Lord? Do they have the joy of the Lord, or do they minister out of duty? Are they truly joyous with that joy spilling over to others, or do they continually complain and gripe over all the things that are not pleasing to them? Is goodness evident in their lives instead of evil? Do they put people in bondage by always threatening them with the wrath of God, or is freedom of choice extended with the warning of the penalties of sin? Jesus came to set us free, not to bring us under the bondage of men.

Let us prove all leaders and see if their fruit is good fruit. Do they love and not hate, have joy instead of depression, and promote peace instead of strife? Are they longsuffering (patient) or impatient, gentle or harsh? Do they show love and tolerance for those that oppose them? Do they walk in faith, or doubt and unbelief? Are they meek, giving God the glory for their talents and gifts, or do they pridefully talk of all they are doing or their group is doing? Does temperance prevail not only in their lifestyle, but in their personal habits as well, or do extremes exist that do not glorify God? In essence they will not live for themselves, but for others as Jesus did. Do they reflect Jesus? Proverbs 20:11 says, "Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.''

The 'Nigerian situation' goes beyond issuing Communiqués, and that should be the same as the situation with any other country for that matter. Indeed, the problems are not just about religious differences or political maladies - people ought to match communiqués with action and turn the tables around.

We live in a strange country, why have the authorities not asked why diesel will be soo instantly volatile.

I have tried the following tests which indicate that there was foul-play involved

5 Litres of Diesel left to heat under the afternoon sun (did not measure temperature to gauge the rate of evaporation)
1: Spread on grass and teased with a match only produced flames that died out on without considerable damage to the grass
2: Spread on sharp sand and teased with a match only produced flames that burned slowly and but died from breeze flowing over it.
3: Spread on top-soil (farm soil) and teased with a match did not produce enough fire to be termed as an inferno if a full tanker was lit.

2.5 Litres of Diesel+2.5 Litres of Kerosene left to heat under the afternoon sun (did not measure temperature to gauge the rate of evaporation)
On all accounts, a match caused a sudden envelope of flame due to the mixture of kerosene on the spread. (Kerosene evaporates quicker and is more volatile in the presence of an open flame or spark

I think in the confusion and obvious shock due to the amount of lives lost, we forget to ask pertinent questions, why would diesel burn so quickly and be so volatile, I am sure if the policeman who shot the rifle knew it was petrol, he would hold his fire because any fool will be latently aware of the consequences of petrol and sparks

The Police should immediately investigate the actual contents of the diesel tanker. my presumption is that the contents was mixed (diesel+Kerosene ) to cause that high rate of evaporation causing vapour/fumes that ignited when the policeman shot his rifle.

Well it seems hard to believe but there you have it. my condolence to the families lost

2PM must be hot and sunny to to cause the pool of diesel to evaporate to the level where its flashpoint became very volatile otherwise a gun-shot in the air cannot cause diesel to turn into a raging inferno . diesel fires are slow-burning, you can try this. pour a cup of diesel on the floor and bring fire cose to it, see what i mean, no fire until you actually put a light and an accelerant to it. story is real but the cause is a bit fishy.

either ways, it is a sad state of affairs with Emergency Response in Nigeria
