emmysam2: The Thread and all the comments above are product of the Nigerian society.... A warped, degenerated and decayed populace! In my opinion, am thinking that good thread as this that should have called for sober reflections shouldnt degenerate into a war of words. Worsestill the poster got himself neck deep in the mudslinging. Leaves much to be desired. What I expected were critical analysis of the subject matter and long lasting solutions proferred. What we have here are mindbuggling insults and name callings. Does these address the issue on ground? DEFINITELY NOT! Truth will out!! |
Just because you have an idea, does not make it the only idea. . . How about you promote them based on the law that states "you are innocent until proven guilty" . . And should the courts find them guilty, you simply promote one of their subordinates or the next in line to that level. . NO HARM, NO FOUL!!
Dude! I thought it was the other way round in Nigeria I have been jailed severally then asked to prove my innocence or stand Guilty as Charged but those where the IBB\Abacha days. Thank God for Democracy - it is now up to the Courts to prove you Guilty as Charged (Baba-Suwe Vs. NDLEA comes to mind at this point) |
Image123: You can't be christian atheist, the two words cannot be compounded. It's like blending light and darkness. What do you call a Christian who does not Believe in God anymore - He cannot be a committed Atheist and neither can he be a Devout Christian - He thinks God exists - he just does not believe it |

Religion and Politics are like p.rostitues working the same street they have always been playful bed-mates. how best to ensure control over the masses when they are tied to the apron-strings of their pastors and imams. I have no respect for MOG who fail to realize that in the past their role was to install and remove leaders of nations who have failed to deliver. now these religious i.diots bow to their fellow political i.diots as long as their clueless congregation keep dipping into their pockets to fund the Private Jets and Commercial Estates they own. punishment enough for the cretinous congregation I'd say |

violent: . .and there are still nutters who believe his farce must be a religion of 'piss'? but it is not a laughing matter though. it is hard to relate the behavior of Muslims and Christians with PEACE and Tolerance |
Really has anyone ever considered if the advertised BOKO-HARAM agenda is in touch with the realities on ground. (Western-Education is Forbidden) If this agenda is strongly held by these bunch of misfits, how come they have not bombed every tertiary institution in the north. these institutions have little or no protection. Why has is it "punctuated" with religious undertones - outside special Christian holidays, I'd expect at least 10-20 bombings of Christian institutions which remain largely "unprotected". either these BH mugus are especially dumb (but smart enough to give FG unending problems) or there is a hand (or hands) working behind the scenes on a far devious agenda and have hijack the BH phenomenon to further their agenda. Why is all the attention on GEJ, the Presidency alone cannot deal with a problem the Governors evidently have failed to even curtail in the least. Rather what we have are ACF and a bunch of Northern Governors packaging Political ambitions on the strength of BOKO-HARAM bombings, it smacks of Blackmail and Ransom |
@ndu_chuks and @Obiagu1 - what is the solution. how it happened and why it happened pales in comparison to who is responsible. who is really funding this group and how do we check it. It is obvious that this Government is grasping at straws to find any solution beyond Amnesty. |
For those who think 2015 is the time to fight the battle to unseat PDP - WRONG! think again. There is only 1 lesson the past 15 years of Democracy has taught Nigerians; (though we refuse to accept it). If you have not prepared this battle 15 years ago, how on earth do you expect to win the War in 2015. Democracy is an institution built on (continuous, unrelenting and selfless) Personal Sacrifice and Unshakeable Political Will. It is not Emotional Sentiments, Political Sycophancy, Blissful Ignorance or Sheer Desperation. It is a venture all must approach with full knowledge and understanding of our unique Political Dynamics from Local Councils to National levels. If you do not have a sense of Political-Awareness, you are bound to fail in the game of Politics. A lot of us have built the wrong mindset by having party affiliations based on their perception of individuals (I voted for GEJ not PDP) creating a wall of intolerance, bigotry, hate and Criminals and unqualified (barely educated) touts swell the ranks of Influential (Over-paid and Under-performing) Political office-holders in Nigeria, They push an air of self-worth that is not commensurate with value they should be delivering -majority of us accept this Mediocrity as Excellence and will die to vote mediocre-politicians in come 2015. This is how they (every political party) have built and sustained a political environment where you have far majority of "Wrong People" in the "Right Place". It is a trend that has been flourishing since the past 15 years of Democracy. Your vote alone is not the only thing that counts, If it did then Nigeria would not be in this mess in the first place. We as individuals need to start encouraging intellectuals with progressive ideas to join political parties at the grass-roots. e.g I belong to a ward where most of the leaders are old farts who command a lot of following at the grassroots but are easily swayed by cheap money and a good meal of Amala and Ewedu. These are leaders who will be among National Delegates whose votes will determine which corrupt politician goes to the polls. If we had more Educated and Politically-aware youths getting involved, I am certain with time, a good foundation for influencing Political leadership will be built and sustained. instead we raise walls on Nairaland, propagate hatred and intolerance and refuse to recognize the root problem (corrupt politicians) and are busy fighting symptoms (poor governance) and laying blame on each other and the next distraction (Boko-Haram, MEND, Tompolo, Probes, etc). It is time we start building a Political institution with young incorruptible leaders, otherwise we will arrive 2015 and still have little influence as we do right now. Happy Easter (if you are into it) |
It does not matter whether you are ACN or PDP, across the board, all Political parties in Nigeria, irrespective of what they claim to represent are all corrupt b.astards. it is evident from the look at the state of development in each state. rather than focus on education/health,housing, they keep planting flowers on major roads and feeding them daily with water that the poor buy with their hard-earned money It is our fault really, when one crook gets to be a political leader, we all come here and display our sycophantic support for them, fighting each other while the true cause of Democracy is swept under the carpet. |
