The Reason why Boko Haram is still relevant in the eyes of a constituted democracy called Nigeria is because Muslims - Especially Northern Muslim citizens and public officials keep quiet. Traditional Leaders and Islamic Figures and Governors are all strangely lethargic in reacting to the Boko Haram ISLAMIC Terrorists.

Back to your question on Demonstration of Faith. A few words of caution - not all I reference in this post is Biblical,  I should also point out I was in the same quandary 4 years ago - luckily I am married to a stubborn Woman and we are exact opposites 3 boys later

Understanding the Nature of FAITH
Genesis 1:1-3 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.. In Latin it is translated Fiat Lux "let light be made" - I am profoundly amazed at the tomes of revelation laid out from OT to the NT on this Active Force only accessible via FAITH. While Religion is based on Faith, having Faith is not necessarily a Religious characteristic.

At the risk of inviting theist vs. atheist arguments (which is not what this thread is about) I will say this;  I believe there is a cosmic force that permeates this reality and it is known as the Holy Spirit in Christian circles. It is a primary force of creation and everything "supernatural". It can be harnessed and purposed according to the will of the user. Romans 12:3 says For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with[b] the measure of faith God has given you.[/b]  . FAITH is part of you - you don't lose it or get it. it is always there. The very presence of doubt is an indication of faith.

The challenge a believer experiences when it comes to faith rises from their misunderstanding of the nature of faith. majority propose that God gives faith in varying measures and some have no faith at all to begin with. I think the doctrine of Faith from this context is in error and this is the source of constant confusion as to Why God does (not) answer prayers. Jesus Christ exemplifies further by saying  in John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.


I fear a great deal of misunderstanding of scripture and the application of scripture in error over centuries has cemented the sort of behavior that is exactly the opposite of what God planned originally. We are beings of Faith which is why it is impossible to please God without Faith. so how can we not have Faith to begin with and have to depend on a Man of God to wield his Faith to purpose a manifestation in your life.  

Faith is a key ingredient for Living - It governs all our actions, we apply it everyday without breaking a beat and yet forget how to apply it when we actually put our mind to it - is that not strange? The reason is this. Faith is a State of Mind . It is the key to harnessing and purposing God's Active force in your life.

I often hear the line which says it has to be God's will for you to have a baby at a time of his choosing - I cannot imaging the insult God must feel for every time people say that. it is such a cruel posture to assume.

Your State of Mind defines the strength of your Faith
Level 0 - Weak Faith : We all start here- checking the odds and conditions we are in. Placing limits on God and his benefits. Wrong teachings are an influence here.
Level 1 - Temporary Faith: Experiences that demonstrate Faith strengthens us and studying the Bible helps keep your State of Mind steady, but this level of Faith fails when Trials come like Luke 8:15 says But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
Level 3 - Active Faith : Faith is an Active Force - without Works (Action) it is Dead (Inactive) It requires regular exercises in believing and trusting God in the challenges you have taken on. Here you must move to action rather than pray in supplication.
Level 4 - Strong faith : This is Actionable Faith, where you take on God's promises and receive because you have a point of reference and you have done your homework - I am at this point   It is like asking your mum for food and she says I am getting it for you - How can you doubt?
Level 5 - Great Faith – Most True Men of God are at this level: Where you simply believe on the manifestation of the unseen like the centurion in Matt 8:8 Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
Level 6 - Unshakable Faith: At this level you had to have received some Revelation to wield it with unbelievable results - You must Understand the Word as it was meant to be understood, devoid of misinterpretation and pregnant with Wisdom and Introspection. Abraham is a man of Unshakeable Faith.
Level 7 - Divine Faith: My definition of this level of Faith is not sufficient to explain it the way i feel it should be explained. It simply means Faith without an iota of doubt - God kind of Faith.

Study the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit, it is the key to experiencing Faith the way it was meant to be experienced. Instant Gratification  

One more thing - determine if your challenge is Natural or Supernatural - the later can be quite a difficult bridge to cross  

@Jesoul. I really respect your candor and honesty. "GOD" does answer but not to prayer. He listens to prayers (he always has) but he is moved by FAITH (He always has). I have tried in my many discontents with God until I realized that the answer lies within you. God has done all he needs to do. It is all up to you to do what you need to do. demonstrate FAITH (not little or great, just FAITH)

I may not sound scriptural but i grant you this, my prepositions are supported by God himself  
1: God has imbued every human with an innate ability to influence reality (We are created in his image are we not)
2: God has consistently demonstrated this ability and laid the foundations through several verse in the Bible (very clever at making mystery)

Contrary to what many Men Of God teach today, you do not practice Faith (you practice growing in the word and living it through the grace of the Holy Spirit). FAITH is within the genes of man Evil and Good - you simply switch it on. The Act of Prayer outside Worship IMHO is not unlike a man who plants corn and looks at the skies hoping for rain.

Jesus did not pray to perform Miracles, He simply performed - (A lesson for Nairaland Christians) - When you begin to get high on the message, you loss sight of the lesson.

You already have FAITH, It is not a hard thing like you have been sold. It is a gift that you do not know you have. girl simply switch it on - throw away scriptural errors and work with demonstrated experiences of FAITH in the Bible. Remember FAITH drives PURPOSE which manifests ACTION. I have learned to consistently apply FAITH to my lesser challenging needs in life and I realize one Truth. When Nigerian Christians get excited over these kinds of  attempts to discredit the Pope and the Catholic Church, I laugh. I laugh because they are too myopic to see the big picture. They don't see it's the devil's plan against his number one enemy on earth - The Catholic Church.
