There is no sane country in the world where government subsidizes imports. The original left-wing, Keynesian concept of a subsidy is that it is supposed to stimulate domestic production of commodities where such a country has comparative advantage in order to overcome the normal economic cycles of boom and bust, such that the economy can be kept at close to full employment even in the face of a recession. This is the only case where I have heard of a country subsidizing imports instead of seeking to produce at home. We need to create the necessary incentives [/b]for domestic refining by removing the petrol subsidy.

You are talking a lot - but ain't saying nothing yet[b][b] @bolded[/b]. I hate that a lot of economic policies are explained to the public without an iota of evidence of how (technically) FG intends to achieve, sustain and extract the necessary benefits. As you, they will regurgitate working models but somehow choose not to measure the impact nor investigate the common factors that should make such policies work as it did in other economies. Our government is fond of slapping template economic policies and sticking their thumb in the air hoping to God it works. (It fails ultimately).

We should be asking questions -
1: Why will this work given our unique economic challenges.
2: How will it work given our socio-political deficiencies
3: When is the right time, NOW or in phases - are the right infrastructure in place to guarantee sustainability

Among the latest craze for Nigeria's youthful audiophiles is the MONSTER Headphones marketed as BeatsByDre. They are very cool to own and also give your some of the best quality listening pleasure you can get from a set of good headphones.

Unfortunately major reputable electronic shops in Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikeja, Surulere and even Nairaland have decided to pay hard-working Nigerians with cheap, fake imitations from China - I got the opportunity to buy direct from Amazon and was surprised to hear the utterly ridiculous price the same Headphone go for in Nigeria. I was curious so i bought one for N35,000 from a supplier on SAKA Tinubu GSM Market. I was sorely disappointed - I got the Studio version and I was immediately presented with an uncontrolled noise devoid of any quality. the control buttons broke after the first day of use and I had to buy 2 AA batteries myself when they should actually come included.

This is a warning to all those who buy from sources who claim they bought it from the UK and want to sell it for N35,000 it cost about N52,000 for the real Studio depending on what the Exchange Rate is.
But you know Nigerians - grin
