4tunebest: She was placed on admission & given intraveinous fluids

4tunebest: She has changed night gown/bed sheets severally.

The environment she sleeps in is very condusive

She was given piriton & multivitamins
changing night gowns isnt the issue, but changing the MATERIAL!!!

Some people react to nulon/rayon fabrics, so maybe you can switch to pure cotton i:e 100pc cotton...

Giving piriton may not help since its not histamine-mediated...

Also, try fumigating your mom's bed... Some silly insects may be tormenting her...

You may try creams with anti-inflammatory properties like funbact A, but please mix it with a plain body cream, dont use it raw...

Also, see the doc concerning the piriton...

4tunebest: I am creating this topic as a last resort, since everything we tried to solve this issue have so far proved abortive.

For over a month, my mum has been itching seriously, mostly @ night and the discomfort prevents her from sleeping throughout the night. During the day, everything is normal but once it is night, stuff like hives start appearing on her skin, which itches until dawn. Then in the morning, the hives disappear & the itching stops until night time when thesame thing repeats itself. We have used drugs prescribed by doctors, yet no improvement.

Please what else can we do?
Thanks in anticipation of your helpful response.
what kind of night gown/ bed sheets does your mom wear to sleep??

Does she use the a/c while asleep??

What did your docs give her for treatment??

What you said about doctors is true for those that specialized in clinic work i:e physicians, surgeons, gynecologists and pediatricians...

Lab doctors and public health doctors always have time for themselves and their families!!!

He may have had a terrible experience... I was once in his shoes...

While i was in JS2, we did this "truth of dare" game, so i was dared to toast one kain lady like that shaa, or pay 100naira (in those days, that na big money ooo)

anyway, i walked up to her, told her i loved her, and even hugged her, the lightning slap i felt on my cheek led to a reciprocated right cross on hers... Since i attended a military school, a corporal thrashed us wella, my bum was on fire for days!!!

Then i vowed never to approach a lady again, until......

If a babe farts in front of me, i take it as a mistake... If she does it again, i caution her, and if she doesn't plug the hole, she's out like a baseball miss...

lomaxx: The cause of his problem is very clear- it's staring me in the face. His prolactin level is abnormally high and that alone is enough to impair his fertility. Bringing down the prolactin levels to normal is sufficient to restore his fertility. The other details are beyond the scope of this page.

Send me a mail : medicalmatata@gmail.com
dont you think its better for him to see an endocrinologist??

Morotov1: Permit me to share my thought.

These exodus will create room for creation of Nurse practitioners, physician assistants, extension of prescribing power to a whole lots of other professionals......even a change in course curriculum of the essential health professionals to practice more advanced medical procedures as is in some advance countries........Mozambique's midwife's performing cesarean section and some obstetrics procedures, clinical officers in East Africa etc.....comes to mind. By then it won't be about allowances but about being relevant.

Do you want that?
Are you going to run as a coward because the land is getting too hot for you?
Fight your fight and help settle Nigerian health sector or your profession will go to the dogs.
boss, we have done our best as doctors.... The government is not helping matters at all....

We dont have the best equipment, drugs are substandard or fake, we still use archaic lab/imaging procedures.....

Let the government formulate a health policy that makes the lives better for doctors and patients, then we may consider staying...
