I see these 1983 Hilux, many along Suleja.
The Hilux is a reliable and never dying vehicle from time and the example I'm talking about is fuel efficient and can carry all the stuff you need.

Our media houses do this and it is disgusting.Exrracting interviews from people under investigation & allowing them exploit public emotions.

Derek Chauvin has been in custody since last year and is not doing press conferences. But here, we assemble camera before them like heroes
Spot on....just like the Chidinma or whatever her name is....and many Nigerians are yet to realise this is the common poor health drama played by politicians to stay out of jail and eventually exit the country.

Story is biased and incomplete

How can they walk past you and then return to attack unprovoked? They must have triggered them.

...and see a boy shot in the chest and leg sitting upright just hours later, what a miracle!
Politics › Re: Iseyin In Oyo Where Dairy Biz Generates Cash & Peace Among Fulani/Yoruba Farmers by laivwire(m): 3:52pm On Jun 20, 2021
spinna:
smiley The wise with funds to invest should see this as an opportunity.the others would start political arguments this article is real.

FC WAMCO a private multinational..single handedly revived the nigerian dairy industry with this milk collection programme they invested billions of naira..

we cannot in the south sit on our keyboards and demonise innocent cattle with unscrupulous owners when we ourselves are not making moves to enter into the cattle business

this was my my view three years ago when i saw a similar article about wamco in iseyin.. so i took the plunge and moved to iseyin to start a cattle and dairy farm

so i have witnessed this system.. i have learnt about cows.. milked my own cow (yes by myself) and i have received cash for my milk via transfer from fc wamco.. i have seen the hygienic mill collection room where farmers , both fulani and non fulani..bring in their milk

southerners need to start building ranches and cashing out on this milk and beef money. we can learn like i did.. i have learnt so much from my move to iseyin..

i was introduced to improved pastures by the company.. now i provide seeds and suckers of improved pasture grass to other cattle farmers.. check my posts if you are interested

also my five acre purpose built dairy farm facility in iseyin is up for sale.. it has borehole farm staff house and cow house/ milking area. never used before..it is going for 7million naira.. call 0706 346 3851 if you are a serious buyer..reason for sale is i am expanding to oyo town on my own family land ..

i never used the farm because God blessed me with another 6 acres in front of my rented apartment so i moved my cows there and took care of them myself..no fulani involved.. i have been sucking up cow knowledge everyday like a sponge. i would advise anyone with good capital and love of farming to invest in this.. cheers all
Awesome. I've always had the dream of owning an intensive dairy farm, producing and processing fresh milk daily. I had no idea it's becoming a coming venture in Iseyin which is relatively safer than the north at the moment. I'd like to send you a private mail to learn more about how to start a farm sustainably.

Car Talk › Re: Is The 2013 Ford Ranger Pick Up Truck A Good Buy? by laivwire(m): 5:11pm On Jun 15, 2021
sultaan:
Bouncing car means bad shock absorber.
You jumped to conclusions. The vehicle is question is brand new.

sultaan:
Everything else is a classic Toyota fan opinion of other models, there is a reason some are called work trucks, these are pangolo trims, not XLT, OR Lariat
Comparing a 2013 pangolo to a 2018 hilux is not fair, especially if the Hilux is automatic.
Another hasty conclusion, of course there are categories but manufacturing standards of different countries of production vary. His example is South African. I don't know if you also read about the 2007 Hilux I mentioned...only the 2014 and 2018 model I drove were automatic.

sultaan:
Comparing a South African pangolo to an American mid range trim is not fair either.
What comparison? I stated the Tacoma and F-150 as step up models.

sultaan:
Is the Ford Ranger a good truck to buy if it is in good shape?
I believe OP had answered that question from a owners point of view. And we hope he gives us update on how it goes. If properly maintained.

Parts will mostly be original. @ N500 to 1
It will be irresponsible to expect parts to be cheap when Nigerian Customs Service has collected a huge duty on those parts
As for this, it is based on personal preference and everyone is entitled to how they feel about a particular vehicle.

Car Talk › Re: Is The 2013 Ford Ranger Pick Up Truck A Good Buy? by laivwire(m): 2:10pm On Jun 13, 2021
I drive the 2018 Hilux and I have driven the manual ranger, exactly your type on several occasions. The difference is night and day.
The Ranger has so many options deleted and I can imagine same with yours from the picture you posted.

The truck doesn't take potholes well, doesn't take bends well either, it's rather too stiff for my liking always bouncing over everything. angry

Interior is too bland as well and gear shift range too shallow. I don't know the costs of parts but I can imagine price tags at Coscharis. cheesy

I've driven the Hilux as a daily driver from the 2007 all the way to the 2018 and I take the Hilux any day.

What I'll consider a step up is a Tacoma which I have enjoyed from 2007 - 2020 as well as the Ford F-150 but that can be a gas guzzler with it's big engine

Politics › Re: Niger Places Complete Ban On Commercial Motorcycles In Minna by laivwire(m): 11:26am On Jun 03, 2021
I spent 8 hours travelling from Kontagora to Abuja yesterday. A journey usually is less than 5 hours if you pass Tegina to Minna but since these bandits have been killing and kidnapping on that road everyday since last Friday I had no choice.

How can bandits operate for 5 hours non stop and hold a while 3 LGAs down for months now and the Govt isn't lifting a finger?

Haven't owned one but I learned at mention of infiniti parts, wallets go lean. Fuel consumption too? One zoom, one litre grin
As regards engine and transmission, reviews have shown they are quite foolproof.

What bmw model would you suggest I go for?
My rule of thumb, is to go for the last 2-3 series of a particular model.

That will be the 2012-2014. Any serious issues should have been rectified by then.
Car Talk › Re: Which Consumes More Petrol: Windows Down Vs Air-conditioning by laivwire(m): 2:26pm On May 11, 2021
I agree with your findings Op. I once read moving fast with the windows down causes more drag and more fuel than with windows up. Besides the engine we know today is yet to be so efficient so reduce some of the wasted energy by using the AC.

Atvlow speeds or on stand still, you will definitely use more fuel. Easy to know. During the hot Abuja heat, I seat in the car, turn on the AC and watch my gas mileage dramatically rise to outrageous numbers. grin

I've not used this model before but I learned it can be trouble. You see slot of them parked in mechanic shops.
The 335i is worse, super performance along with super problems. Even whiteys are complaining.
