IntercityTravel:Hey, thanks for sharing your experiences—smart to compare options and use platforms like Intercity. Road travel between Lagos and Abuja can be more affordable and flexible than flying, but it demands realism about the realities on the ground. Both main northern routes you're asking about have serious trade-offs right now. Here's a pragmatic breakdown based on current conditions (as of 2026). 1. Ilorin – Niger – Suleja Route (via Jebba-Mokwa-Bida) - Pros: Often considered one of the alternatives to avoid the worst of the Lokoja corridor. It can feel less congested in parts, with some sections (like parts of Niger State) having seen repairs. Travel time is roughly 10-14+ hours depending on conditions and stops. - Dangers & Complexities: - Road conditions: Significant deterioration on stretches like Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa-Bida-Suleja. Potholes, failed surfaces, and construction delays turn what should be 8-9 hours into 14+ hours or worse in bad weather/breakdowns. It's been called a "death trap" by commuters due to accidents. - Security: Niger State has risks of kidnapping and banditry (US travel advisory flags parts of Niger as high-risk). Incidents happen, though some travelers report it as relatively preferable to Kogi alternatives at times. - Other issues: Long stretches with limited services, fuel stops, or quick help if stranded. Night travel is strongly discouraged everywhere due to poor visibility, reduced security, and higher crime risk. 2. Ekiti – Lokoja Route (via Ado-Ekiti-Okene-Lokoja) - Pros: More popular and serviced with better access to fuel, food, and mechanics on the southern end (Lagos-Ibadan is usually decent). Scenic in parts and sometimes less truck traffic on the Ekiti side. - Dangers & Complexities: - Road conditions: The Abuja-Lokoja highway is a notorious nightmare—potholes, failed bridges/sections, ongoing construction causing massive gridlocks (hours or even days stuck, especially during peaks like holidays). It's frequently called a "national emergency" with slow rehab work. - Security: High kidnapping risk on corridors like Lokoja-Okene (medium-high risk in recent data). Kogi State is flagged in advisories for terrorism, crime, and kidnapping. Banditry and robberies exploit bad spots. - Other issues: Heavy traffic, accidents (trucks especially), and stranding risks. The entire approach to Abuja via Lokoja funnels a lot of traffic, worsening everything. Common to both routes: Poor overall infrastructure, reckless driving, armed robbery/kidnapping threats (higher at night or isolated spots), limited emergency response, and vehicle wear (tires, suspension). Daytime travel in a reliable vehicle (or good bus company) is much safer than night. Always check real-time updates via groups, FRSC, or apps before leaving. My Opinion on the Best Route The Ilorin-Niger-Suleja route edges out as the slightly better pragmatic choice right now for many regular travelers—if your vehicle/driver can handle bad roads—mainly because it helps dodge the worst Lokoja gridlock and funnel-effect chokepoints. That said, neither is reliably "good; both carry real risks and stress. Many experienced travelers prefer it over the Ekiti-Lokoja one when possible, but monitor conditions closely as things change with weather, construction, or incidents. Practical tips for road travel: - Travel daytime only, leave very early, and aim to reach before dark. - Use reputable bus companies (check recent reviews on Intercity or similar) or a sturdy private car in a small convoy if possible. - Have a good spare tire, full fuel range, offline maps, power banks, water/snacks, and emergency contacts. - Consider police escort for high-value trips if budget allows. - Flights are worth it for time-sensitive or low-stress needs despite prices/delays. If you're doing this often, mix modes (road one way, fly back) or track patterns. What's your usual vehicle/setup or biggest pain point? Safe travels! |
Hehehehehehehe guy I swear we know where the votes are.... lol helinues: |
How ironic!!! This is a very valid submission and one that never really crossed my mind. Hmmmm. So Donald Trump is willing to sacrifice other countries for the sake of Isreal. This is interesting! madridguy: |

Interested in the car. How and when do I get to see the car for inspection? And where is it? |
There is no Corolla that can survive on a Venza engine. A Camry can and some Camry carries Venza engine. The Corolla will soon pack up apart from gulping fuel, it would be gulping too much engine oil too because the car was nlt built to carry that kind of engine. BlindAngel: |

1. First degree dissociation: 20% of 500 molecules dissociate, which is 0.20 * 500 = 100 molecules. Each dissociated molecule forms one hydrogen ion (H^+) and one bicarbonate ion (HCO3^-), so a total of 100 * 2 = 200 ions are formed. 2. Second degree dissociation: 1% of 500 molecules dissociate, which is 0.01 * 500 = 5 molecules. Each dissociated molecule forms one hydrogen ion (H^+) and one carbonate ion (CO3^2-), so a total of 5 * 2 = 10 ions are formed. Therefore, The total number of ions formed during the dissociation of 500 molecules of carbonic acid is 200 + 10 = 210 ions. |
There4me:Not really! She obviously has her eye on another man but wants to be allowed to do her whims and she wants to use the court to achieve that. On the part of the husband having a girlfriend I'm sure she knows the husband is within his rights to marry more than one but she doesn't want a co-wife. |
why not contact the site or airline directly? But in reality if you don't intend to enter the UK you do not need a transit visa. If your flight is stopping over in the UK to join another flight to the US then you'd just be in the airport waiting for your flight and your passport won't need to be stamped into the UK on arrival. However if you do require a transit visa you would be issued one at the airport or by the airline when you purchase tickets. Preferably purchase all your tickets at once and hold them as you board the first flight. This can really be of help at the airport should you require a transit visa. Immigration officials would automatically know your final destination is the US and would let you go if you don't have any issue with UK laws. |
My brother if the girl wants to walk away let her walk!!! No woman should threaten a man cos he refuses to travel to the village. Talk to your brother or borrow him some sense that if he hands over the keys to the vault of a bank to someone else and something happens he will smell prison first before they free him that is if he's innocent. And once his reputation is tarnished it's not coming back easily. On the other hand there are many women some of whom are better than the present fiance. Make him reason am well abeeg. A cancelled wedding is better than a cancelled marriage. |

No, there wouldn't be a rerun because he was not declared the winner in the election proper, so a disqualification at the tribunal doesn't affect the natural order of things. |
He's not hyping him, in fact he is understating the facts. If only you know who that man called Putin is you would know he has everything under control. The only man that can defeat Putin is Putin. That is the only best way to put it. LikeAking: |

Stop looking for solution to medical problems on social media. The Internet is not your hospital or clinic. Go to a hospital and lodge your complaint. By the way this looks more like heat rash or skin reaction to a soap, cream or food. But let's hope its not monkey pox. Please visit a general hospital around you. |
Nothing really, you just have to wait for the next available bus which may be days away. Wisdom2003: |
Ghana to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire is very safe by road although it is a long journey but there is security all through the road and street lights if you wish to travel by night. Most of the southern west African cities are free of terrorism especially cities along the waterways. Just make sure you hold a valid passport and proof of accommodation both in Ghana and Abidjan. You can book online before you leave and it would really help if you understand a little bit of French. Ans whatever you do pls do not miss your departure time. Au revoir!!! |
My advice for you is to browse jobs in Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi or UAE. With all these your qualifications especially Health Safety, my brother you're one step closer to becoming a multimillionaire. If you now get the job try learn Arabic and French/Spanish then forget about getting broke in your old age. Godspeed man!!! |

Dude you deserve an Oscar for this mate!!! What an elaborate idea of a sham called marriage. Dont get me wrong i too will get married but i hope for the right reasons but if it doesn't work out I'm out. odinson1: |
Your first mistake is not talking to your husband about your feelings. This forum you came might give you the help you need but in the real sense of it you should be having this conversation with your husband not the whole world because its only him you're answerable to and can decide if going to church is worth it. |
