Good day all. Please I need some heads up. I have a master's degree from a UK university in 2011 after completing a Bsc from a Nigerian university. I have been back to Nigeria for about 8 years but not finding things easy again here. My master's final grade is 58% and I guess most universities will accept 60% and above for a Phd. Thus, I am considering going for another master's next year. I am rooting for Norway coz it offers free tuition as I cannot afford to pay UK or any other countries tuition fee. Now my questions: 1. Does anyone know of a Nowergian uni that can accept my master's grade for a Phd? 2. If I decide to go for another master's can I indicate I already have a master and use the master's transcripts ( getting naija transcripts can be daunting)? 3. Is it compulsory that I transfer funds into a norwergian uni account before I can get clearance to apply for students visa or is this specific to some schools? 4. My field is Political Science, can anyone please recommend a uni offering the course or peace and conflict studies? 5. am I able to go with my family if I decide to study in Norway and what extra cost implications will be involved? Please I need some response for guys that are either already in Norway or with first hand experience. I am currently in a place with very limited internet access in case you are wondering why I didn't search for this info on the Net. Thanks and God bless. |
Mine was 2001. It's still my primary email |
Following a thread on the age of Sim cards. I think it will be interesting to know how long we have been communicating via emails considering the phases of ICT in Nigeria. So, How long have you had your functional email address? |
You are right bro. I think the two-year validity of the test score is largely exploitative. I did mine in 2014, got an overall band 8, but never had the opportunity to use it. Why English tests dey expire is beyond my comprehension. The order exploitative scheme is WES, a credential evaluation scheme that costs hundreds of dollars but has a validity of only two years! Check that all information about yourself is up to date and correct especially your NIN. I had a similar issue, i particularly discovered that my dispayed NIN is different from the one my uploaded national ID card carries. So I decided to update my details ensuring that they were correct. I logged out and logged back in immediately and I got my redeployment notification. Mind you, it was even in the middle of the night which signaled to me that it was my incorrect information that had prevented the deployment. So, please try this out and let's see what happens. |
Thanks for the heads up bro! mariahAngel: |
Just wondering whom I'm sahring messages with once I click "share" on Nairaland. I'm just being weary of any attempt to share a message to unintended recipient... I can't afford to get myself in trouble! |
Your assumption is wrong bro. The guy actually dived into the river to escape arrest just as it's reported. On whether or not he was a cultist, if you really know how notorious guys in Babaoko-Surulere axis are when it comes to cultism, you will instantly believe that the deceased must be a cultist, most likely an Eiye guy. I live in Ilorin. Kamdil: |
2017/2018? Something doesn't seem right with this post BTW, I have never scampered to be FTC though I have always wished to be. How will I ever be able to beat the fast fingers of some FTC-crazy nairalanders? Well, I have just achieved the elusive feat effortlessly... You see life? |
You still failed to hide your bias and sentiment. Both Christians and Muslims involved in the brawls were only able to bring their so called God's name to disrepute. Your living God whose house according to you was being stoned couldn't protect himself while the other's long dead and buried God suddenly rose and launched a stoning attack! The problem remains that religion is doing us more harm than good. It has created a glaring division amongst us and many of us with a particular reference to you are so brainwashed beyond remedy as far as religion is concerned. On this display of stupidity, both groups involved were neither Christians nor Muslims because the real God will never be party to violence and destruction. alBHAGDADI: |
You raised some valid points but I disagree with your conclusion sir. Hijab should not be enforced on any schools be they private or public, christian-owned or otherwise, nor should christian fellowship be allowed. These kids are in schools to learn and we have all agreed that Nigeria is a secular state. If education is part of governance and the government is supposed to be running a secular state, why shouldn't our educational institutions focus solely on academic and related areas rather than distracting students with religion. What then is the purpose of our countless churches and mosques all over? BTW, I am a muslim. martolux: |

As a Muslim, I think prostration for greetings should be permissible. While Allah is the only one worthy of worship prostration for worship unarguably His alone, I don't think He has said anywhere in the Qur'an nor any narration from Hadith that He is the only one to be greeted. So if my intention of prostration is for greetings He knows and if it's worship He knows. I will always prostrate to greet any deserved persons and encourage my offsprings to do so. It looks a bit extreme to prohibit prostrating when the intent is for greetings. |
I don't think Naira Marley's decision to shelve the protest is not right. The essence of the planned protest is to voice out and show our dissatisfaction towards incessant police brutality especially the dreaded FSARS guys. Now that the appropriate authorities such as the NPF and ministry of Youth and Sport have directly communicated with Naira Marley and assured him of a swift response and the screenshot of the communication attached, I think it's no brainer to put a temporary halt to the protest while we wait and see what pans out within a week. We have to give Marley some credit and do not compare this with the case of TuBaba. |
I know this monarch personally. Before he was crowned the Orangun of Oke-Ila, he had been prominent for touching lives and encouraging kids to seek the best education. It came to us all a big surprise that he would choose to give up a very promising legal and high paying political jobs to confine himself to such rural settlement like Oke-Ila. He holds as B.Sc, Msc, LLB, and BL. Doksy as he is foundly nicknamed is a very exemplary monarch. May he live long |
Las las it's gonna be competition between Lagos and Kano. Have you forgotten how 2005 census was manipulated in Kano's favour? While I'm not doubting the existence of COVID-19, the figures being reeled out to us in Nigeria are looking political to me sorry! |
COVID-19 is really hitting america hard. The death toll has now surpassed what they recorded per day during World War II. God have mercy on us. |
A choice between these two guys to me is an IQ test. Those giving it to Odunlade have a below average IQ without any insult intended. Odunlade himself knows he has only been fortunate to rein in a time when a bunch of movie audience just take whatever is thrown at them by actors and actresses. Ibrahim Chatta isn’t the best of all time, just a little above average but he is way better than Odunlade in my humble opinion. |
aadoiza:You really did well correcting the wrong use of pronoun by the nigga above. Many people struggle with the right use of who and whom for real. May I suggest that you say “safe side” rather than “safer side” next time? Let’s join hands together to speak and write good English |
Voice for the voiceless, that’s the name of the Supreme Being up above. |
Okuda:That’s if you are still alive and fit to vote. Remember bro, apart from our wishful thinking a lot of lives will normally cease to exist in the next four years of which yours and mine may be included. If you think these guys deserve your support you should have acted now rather than wait for a time you probably are no more. May God spare our lives though |
Chibuso988:Work on the highlighted mate and don’t forget to thank me. Bye. |
RentedReality:Yeah that was exactly how life was in the "state of nature" according to Thomas Hobbes, life was nasty, brutal and short" hence the need for a social contract which led to creation of state and government. A mother would have had to die like this hen to protect her wards if not for the existence of the state and government as espoused by Thomas. Although it's a different thing entirely when related to current realities in Nigeria, a cursory look at sane society will show you how grateful we should be to those whose effort led to creation of a normal state as against the state of nature. Johnmark247:@ the bolded, I submitted my application on the 16th of June, paper route and i got a mail yesterday that my application has been processed, dispatched to cvac and passport ready for collection. I did pay for courier on submission as i live far away from Lagos. I shall tell the house what the outcome is once I receive it but with various refusal cases i have seen on here it will take miracle for me to be granted the visa, I promise to share my story once i receive the passport though |
