some comments here are not mature. I don't see any reason for name calling, curses and fights.
Can we all focus on DJ pls.

@Femmy thank you for your words. God bless you. We appreciate you.

@to the people threatening that they wont donate to TEHN or wont allow TEHN to take up future cases; this is one of the fundamental problems we have with peoples wrong perception with what exactly chartity and volunteering is.
Who suffers? TEHN or some helpless person somewhere in the future who needs help?

Somehow some of you think that this is some kind of glamorous organisation where we sip wine and eat bokoto
If only you knew half the truth.
If only you read between the lines
Mynd mentioned something about Emails answered at 2am or I take off his head. He is right.
R231 himself get an earful from time to time. On sunday we spent over an hour on the phone while he was getting his ear chewed by me.

What about the risk of life on our dangerous roads . . .
The time, The energy, the sleepless nights . . .
DJ was diagnosed with TB, yet Mynd sat with him for months not minding that he too could get infected
If that is not love for a fellow brother what is?

People were shouting that they didnt get updates . . .
Should I update the house that we sent 48 Emails in one day
Should I update the house that last week I spent my lunch break calling LCC doctors from the UK for 30 minutes with my own money asking questions
Should I update the house that I spent all of Friday calling and contacting oncologists here in the UK begging for a private consultation just for them to look at all the results and give a second opinion?
Its not a reality show. Its not an entertainement channel. There is a young man figting for his life.

Even my family members are unofficial TEHN members. My own husband met Folake about 3 times. It was his friends shop we bought Folakes freezer and gen at highly discounted prices. We spent one whole day out of a 7 day holiday at ogunpa market and still went the next day to her house to do get photographs so that we can update the house.
My own mother knows DJ
When Folake died, Jaybee and my husband met up to go and see her family. I wasnt even in Nigeria at the time.
Many of you dont know anything . . . its easy to type. Someone here even had the boldness to say we handled folakes case wrong. E beru Olorun o!

Truly we have run out of steam and we need people to take over he baton for admin and being there physically. Mentally and Emotionally, we are not leaving DJ . . Never.
We will always be there for him and he knows that.
Ma we know that you guys are doing your best and I believe that everyone on this thread appreciates what you are doing.
I think the best way forward is for TEHN to call for volunteers for this particular case who will be under your supervision. This will make the burden lighter. I believe people will volunteer if TEHN makes this call. The idea of handing him over to an entirely new team or of giving just emotional and mental support is scary.

Anger has nothing to do with this but when someone comes out of the blues to accuse me of taking funds for my own use I think I have a right not to allow such BS stand.

I bet you would have done same too. I have been on this case since November 11. I even had to drag a friend along because I did not know the way to Eruwa. I remember going to 5 hospitals on the 14th in Lagos and being with Hameed everyday for more than a month straight.

If after all that someone can come out and imply I have been taking funds for personal gains and you don't find anything wrong with that statement you need to think about it again. If you think stepping off is about wanting to be right, you might consider that I was with Hameed today at LUTH for an appointment I begged a friend to arrange so we can have options. I could have just told him I won't be and no one will actually hold me.

The case has gotten to a point where others are needed to play their part.

To those who say anyone gave up, I guess giving up also includes putting down the plans and way forward. I also called the hospital in VI today to make sure the bill was okay and corrected some things just so when whoever will take this up will find it easy. I don't have time for anger but I take exception to being accused of diverting funds.

Anyone who draws sub from this is on his/her own
Bros we appreciate all your efforts. What we are saying is DJ's wellbeing comes first in any proposed way forward.

TEHN we have begged,we have pleaded with you guys to continue. The truth is that backing out now is plain wickedness and its unacceptable.

You guys have given DJ hope, why dash that hope now?

Well, I think paying the hospital fees for chemo and handing over the rest to DJ's family makes sense at this point. Some people's initial fear was that they(DJ's family) may not go the hospital way. However, If TeHN pays the bills, then his family will just need to coordinate his going and returning for treatment. Makes sense to me..
TEHN is this what you've been trying to say?
HealthRe: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by Lateralmaths(m): 11:34pm On Jan 26, 2015
pickabeau1:
Nobody has written off anyone

We spent the last few days identifying a treatment plan which we have tabled to the house

We are saying however we cannot continue on this case

The options are to
A Handover the monies less chemo (which will be paid to d hospital) to his family
They will handle the logistics and ensuring he is available

B. A new team is set up to handle it
This team will be given all d funds
can't believe this. Has TEHN given up on DJ?

It's almost impossible for us to change our decision simply because we can't function without a field worker on ground. We currently have 3 field workers on our team out of which 2 are full time workers.

The 3rd field worker who has had to put his life on hold for this noble cause now have other pressing issues which practically means we are unable to function effectively as we would have liked on this case going forward.

We were never set up to work on cases that will demand this much resource as our strengths are somewhat restricted to planning and coordination due to obvious reasons.

It's very important that we focus on the options provided so we can find an adequate/sufficient plan for the next critical phase
I understand sir. I think its best if we could get more volunteers to work with tehn on this case. For the sake of DJ,your pulling out should not be an optio . we need you, DJ needs you,he's counting on you. pls, biko

OAM4J:
We cannot make that conclusion since other options have not been tried. TeHN is not indispensable. Let's give other options a chance.
. Its too late to consider other options. We believe in you. You have our support.

Thanks for the words
If you telling us to continue is one option..which i call option Z for now
Please what is your preferred option out of the remaining options

Let me enumerate them again
Option Z is best.
HealthRe: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by Lateralmaths(m): 6:34pm On Jan 26, 2015
TEHN you have our vote of confidence. And our collective verdict is that its too late for you guys to pull out. Pls for the sake of DJ don't stop your good work, ignore distractions and by the grace of God we all will celebrate DJ full recovery.
HealthRe: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by Lateralmaths(m): 6:13pm On Jan 26, 2015
Tehn pulling out now will be seen as failure on your path. This is a challenge you guys can overcome. If you need more volunteers say so. It should not be said in the nearest future that tehn fled when the going became rough and tough.

The key to keeping it is commitment. Try again next year and be committed.

FamilyWhy Do People Make New Year Resolutions? by Lateralmaths(op): 6:37am On Dec 31, 2014
Why do people make new year resolutions and how effective are they?

Personally I think that new year resolutions don't work because of lack of commitment from those who make then. Becoming a better person takes discipline, determination and diligence, this should be part of our life all year round. It's not just something we resolve to do on new year day,we should also resolve to be committed to our resolutions.

Narialanders what do you think about new year resolutions?

" My home town has been renamed "Madinatul-Islam" in a new Caliphate under strange rulers. The leadership of Nigeria have said nothing about it making me believe that they have given up on me. Having lost my identity as a Nigerian I am now a refugee in soon to be captured Yola. Where do I go to? I was thinking of heading for Gombe but with Nafada and Bajoga in the hands of the invaders, Gombe too is no longer safe. And I would not be accepted in the new Caliphate because I am already guilty of being to school and working for Government. My punishment is summary execution.

Meanwhile the Military Authorities are not encouraging me to feel safe in Yola. They are closing down their schools and sending their families away. Federal establishments are equally down sizing their staff strength. Banks are telling their staff to evacuate their families from Yola. All flights out of Yola are fully booked for the next one week. I want to travel to Lagos but no ticket available. This is increasing the sense of panic in Yola. Yet the rulers of Nigeria have kept mum. I tried to watch NTA Network Views yesterday but no mention was made of the invasions of our lands. Is it a contract these people are executing? Considering that the Military vacated MUBI 2 hours before they arrived, was it really a handover? Every day they announce the impending capture of Yola during their public sessions in Mubi and instead of assurances what we get from the Nigerian leadership is a deafening silence. What really is happening? Do I also run away? Where do I go to? Can anyone reading this help me? My life is truly scattered, my parents are in Doumo in Cameroon, my relations are scattered in several villages in Nigeria and Cameroon, I have over 30 internally displaced persons to support here in Yola and my savings have been depleted to zero level. Meanwhile I have parked my bags ready to flee Yola to a destination I do not know. Do I still have a Nationality?
