PoliticsRe: Why Are These States Referred To As North Central States? by LaudableXX: 2:38am On Feb 04, 2018
HAH:
To those who don't know, before amalgamation there was country or protectorate called northern Nigeria, southern Nigeria and Lagos colony. After amalgamation there regions were created northern state, south west and south east.

In all the above Benue, kogi, plateau, kwara, nasarawa were part of northern Nigeria,

Nothing but your hatred and bitterness for north is causing those though of yours that you are not north central. Benue is northern Nigeria
Oga, you started well, but ended rather badly. Benue is Middle Belt, NOT Northern Nigeria. Please correct yourself.
The same goes for kogi, plateau, kwara, nasarawa which used to be grouped as part of northern Nigeria, but are now firmly located within the Middle Belt and prefer to be addressed as such. The notion of one indivisible north, is no longer true. It was a political slogan to get cheap votes. Everyone in the MB region, has seen through it.

MIKOLOWISKA:
it's cheaper than gas still. Mathematics not sentiments should be your concern
Cooking with electricity can never be cheaper than cooking with gas. Please do the maths. If you have NOT bypassed your meter, and you are using the correct tarriff, kindly check how much you pay per kilowatt of electricity used during cooking, and multiply it by your cooking time. Then compare it with gas. And spot the difference.

In as much as its easier and even logical to believe that, It might be an old boyfriend or toaster she's always known possibly longer than her short marriage.

That's why exes are not a good idea to keep as friends because there's always the possibility of rekindling old flames. In her own case, she was divorced and the flame would have caught quicker than when she was married.

Anyway, this is just a screenshot of a "supposed" friend's message. No wedding pics were posted or anything, and it might not be true.
You are always making sense. I believe this might actually be what took place..... undecided The guy was probably an old friend who always gave her a listening ear, during her troubled times. He might have had deep feelings for her before she even got married, but was afraid to express them. After she got married, he lost out.

But the minute she turned to him for comfort, he saw his opportunity and vowed not to make the same mistake by letting her go, again. Once she was free, he grabbed her with both hands and put a seal on it! cheesy

Not necessarily . ..

It could be that the guy was just a friend, nursing some romantic feelings for her (most women have that) . . . Maybe she turned to him in her time of distress and he was there for her, and she fell for him too.

This is definitely a rebound marriage. undecided
Yeah....it has all the features of her getting married on the rebound. My question is this: Has she taken out time to heal properly after the trauma of her break-up with her ex-husband?

SouthEastFacts:
What is the proportion of Igbos in Lagos? It was estimated to be over 40%. Simple research would have cured your ignorance.

Your state govt estimated Lagos population to be 18 million. 40% of 18 million is about 7.2 million.

If Igbos in Lagos alone are 7.2 million, then over half of that must be in the other 5 states, making over 11 million Igbos in SW. If we use 3-points Estimates to project the population, we will have over 11 million.

I know you fail Statistics, so you won't understand.
No, you are the one who failed statistics. undecided You keep pulling figures out of thin air. So only the Igbo's make up 40% of the non-indigenes in Lagos, according to you? What about the Hausa and other northerners who own bureau de changes and other businesses in Lagos? huh

What about the Tapa/Nupe or Igala and other middle belt ethnic groups, that also have large numbers of their indigenes in Lagos, but do not make any noise about it? They go about their business quietly and even intermarry with the Yoruba people. sad

What about the Efik, Ibibio, Edo etc, who also populate Lagos in large numbers and quietly live among their hosts, without issues? Guy, stop deluding yourself. Your ability to exaggerate will soon turn you into a laughing stock on NL. undecided

CelebritiesRe: Shade Ladipo Slams Paddy Adenuga Over Chevron Story by LaudableXX: 2:44am On Feb 02, 2018
All those criticising Paddy Adenuga, for having the temerity to write about his failed takeover bid of Chevron Netherlands, despite his failure to clinch the deal, should read a book titled "Failing Forward," by John C. Maxwell. wink

Hopefully, it would enlighten them. People who end up being great, often taste failure, before they can touch success. And the stories of their failures, are just as important as tales about their successes, because there are valuable lessons to learn from each one. undecided

Failing Forward By Dr. John C. Maxwell

Vincent Van Gogh failed as an art dealer, flunked his entrance exam to theology school, and was fired by the church after an ill-fated attempt at missionary work. In fact, during his life, he seldom experienced anything other than failure as an artist. Although a single painting by Van Gogh would fetch in excess of $100 million today, in his lifetime Van Gogh sold only one painting, four months prior to his death.

Before developing his theory of relativity, Albert Einstein encountered academic failure. One headmaster expelled Einstein from school and another teacher predicted that he would never amount to anything. Einstein even failed his entrance exam into college.

Prior to dazzling the world with his athletic skill, Michael Jordan was cut from his sophomore basketball team. Even though he captured six championships, during his professional career, Jordan missed over 12,000 shots, lost nearly 400 games, and failed to make more than 25 would-be game-winning baskets.

Failure didn't stop Vincent Van Gogh from painting, Albert Einstein from theorizing, or Michael Jordan from playing basketball, but it has paralyzed countless leaders and prevented them from reaching their potential. At some point, all great achievers are tempted to believe they are failures. But in spite of that, they persevere. In the face of adversity, shortcomings, and rejection, they hold onto self-belief and refuse to see themselves as failures.

All Paddy Adenuga has done, is to share the story of how he missed a chance to create history in the business world, and then try to bolster his self-confidence, by writing about it.

Not bad for a new comer, to the world of global business.... wink The son has written his story. I am waiting for the father's own. And I hope it would be written in the same thrilling engaging style, as Paddy's article.

You people should drop your tribalism and use your brains more.

No one voted against Goodluck because of his association with Igbos. It is not like he even did anything for you people. So, I don't understand this nonsense you have written about some people voting Goodluck out because of his association with the Igbos.

Goodluck's loss was good for democracy. He under performed and disappointed many of those who massively voted for him in 2011. Anyone who feels Buhari has under performed should use his powers in 2019. Stop blaming Goodluck's loss on a section of the country. And please, the way many of you Igbos play the victim's card is annoying. You all need to grow up and get some education.

shocked Someone please clarify that this is not what most Igbos think... How can Yorubas, vote against GEJ who is Ijaw because they hate Igbos? Also, did all Yorubas vote PMB? Again, where was the hatred when OBJ and most activists of the Yoruba stock fought tooth and nail to ensure GEJ was installed as Acting President after Yaradua's death, and further voted massively for him in his first term run for the presidency? Anyone able to help clarify these questions... Because I get shocked when I see such statements

Just the same way you cannot really explain how the Hausas and muslims are dominating yorubas and Igbos together, and other christians politically, when infact christians outnumber muslims in Nigeria.

It is a systemic thing. Islam as a religion has always promoted politics among it's people. Whereas the kind of very orthodox and conservative christianity that was brought to most northern christians has always taught us that politics is a bad thing and a dirty game played by candidates of hell fire. Muslims on the other hand have always been taught that it is an abomination for infidels to rule over them, hence they must take politics as a do or die affair and do anything possible to rule over infidels.

The mentality is the problem. Muslims discuss politics in their mosques and how to dominate their terrain, if not now but in the nearest future.

Another reason, is that, Islam teaches you that religious bond is greater than your tribe or your race, but christianity doesn't. This is why you see all muslims drop their tribal differences and support one candidate, but christians will rather fight each other based on tribes.

In Nasarawa state, the muslims have succesfully pitched other christians against the Eggon/Mada people (who are the largest tribe and christian population in the state).. ...So, an Alago christian for instance would rather vote his fellow Alago muslim than an Eggon Christian. Just like the way Igbos are treated by other christians in Nigeria sometimes. ........ But where we christians are foolish, is that we don't know than an Alago muslim for instance will rather vote a Hausa man who shares the same religion with him, than his fellow Alago who is a christian. It's all tribalism.

This is why Adamawa south, which is clearly and unarguably Christian majority (75% christian) senatorial district, but has a muslim senator! Tribalism!

Most Chamba christians preferred to Support a Chamba muslim candidate, than a Bachama christian candidate. Now, the Chambas commanding a very large christian population of the zone, definitely need to join the other predominantly christian tribes for christians to always dominate the zone, but no, they rather support their muslim chamba people in the name of tribal solidarity over religious solidarity. Just like Yoruba christians will rather go with the agenda of yoruba muslims over an Igbo agenda like you saw in the last election.

Christians have no religious solidarity unlike muslims.
You have said it all! And you have said it well! sad I hope those retar'ded clowns that were grouping all tribes in the Middle Belt as "confused people, useful idiots," to Hausa/Fulani groups, would read your lucid response, and receive some sense into their clueless heads!!

The north centrals have been able to decipher who their real enemies are.

Before the storyline have always been painted that the Igbos are the real problem of Nigeria. A country/Individual that doesn't learn from the past is doomed for failure, as much as Ojukwu is maligned, the ideals he fought for remains unfulfilled till today.

I can say unequivocally without fear or prejudice, the north is the biggest problem of this country, substract the north and see how the rest of naija would develop.

Sorry if the truth offends you, but the subservient dog and master relationship between Tivs and Hausa/Fulanis is hard for outsiders to understand. I was blocked on Facebook by several Middle Belt "friends" for nothing more serious than criticising Buhari. The sad thing is that their pride won't let them admit that they're wrong.
You are propagating a lie, and calling it the 'truth?' What truth do you know about the entire MB region? You do not even understand the mindset of any of the Middle -Belt indigenes . Almost 20 different tribes exist within the MB, and you keep using the actions of one or two of them to make a sweeping generalisation about the others. undecided

I guess that was why those MB chaps blocked you on facebook. They were tired of your attempts to brainwash them. Within the MB are those who like Buhari, and also those who dislike him. They are almost evenly spread.... And it says a lot about your mindset, that you were seeking validation of your views on Facebook of all places! Chai!
