Real2020: Only Dangote, oil companies and some notable Nigerians can use those ports in SS. International commercial vessels are not allowed to sail directly to those ports by Nigeria Port Authority policies...for decades SS and SE governors have tried to let NPA to allow these ports to function to their full capacity and they have refused. Only chartered or privately owned vessels by oil companies, Dangote and few well known Nigerians can use them.
There is what we can systematic marginalization that you yorubas have no clue of against Igbos, and SS. They know if SS ports are fully functional like Lagos, these ports will spur economic growth and likely clout to demand for independence from Nigeria, so making SE and SS dependent on Lagos ports is a way of indirectly keeping them in Nigeria...tying them to Nigeria. Please provide the verifiable sources to back up your assertion. Most of your businessmen do not like to consign their imported goods to SS ports, for reasons best known to them. Kemafor Chikwe (one of your Igbo daughters) was was appointed Minister of Transport, and then of Aviation by President Olusegun Obasanjo, why did she not reverse the trend? Why did she NOT make SS ports viable for Igbo businessmen to use? The late Chief Ojo Maduekwe (May 6, 1945 – June 29, 2016) another illustrious Igbo son was Minister of Transport in 2001. What did he do about the state of SS ports? These people had the chance to reverse any issue that affected the SS ports. Why on earth did they not do so? |

Lloydfather: This is why every Igbo men should believed that oil alone is not why Hausa & Yoruba is kicking against biafra. My brother I can clearly tell u that the land borders in those south west state was where their igr is coming from, who are those patronizing those borders ? The biafrans. The igr of Lagos is coming from no other place than import duties in fact import duties is contributing to 90% of Lagos igr, (both lands and sea borders). And who are those paying this duties? The biafrans. This is why the FG is discouraging any other sea port that will mount as challenge to Lagos port.
When they said biafra is landlocked this is what they mean, the land and sea borders is bringing more Igr than anything else and biafrans are the tools. Think my biafra brothers Maka gini? What did you just say here? All taxes, import duties and customs charges collected at land and sea borders goes directly to the Federal Govt's purse. It does not go to any state govt. |

jpphilips: You are a joke, did ojukwu make a single oil and gas investment or he seized Nigerian oil assets and promised to concession it to France in exchange for a few camos and bullets? You don't get it do you? How can Ojukwu export oil that belongs to Nigeria when Nigeria was standing right across with a loaded gun? The oil companies vacated the oil fields and shut down everything, it was ojukwu's engineers that managed to restart the process yet he couldn't get enough to fuel locomotives let alone make exports, Does ojukwu have a single oil export contract with any country at the time? or you don't care to even understand how oil is sold before throwing around your emptiness? In your deluded mind, You think oil is a commodity you barge in the high sea waiting for buyers to pick them up at the right price, you are the least IQ I have met on Nairaland, jeez!! Why do you guys make puerile assumptions?
You think Nigeria did not have active Naval personnel in 1967? Do I blame you? obviously your cheap education did not tell you about the HMNS QUORRA, JEA Wey was already a chief of Army staff by 1964, three years prior to the war. Continue undermining Nigeria at your own risk, ojukwu did it too, whatever that Ojukwu saw and ran away await you in this new campaign bring it on!! Don't mind him. Not only did Nigeria put its naval ships at the entrance to Bonny, those ships made sure that no single drop of oil could be exported without the permission of the federal govt. How would Ojukwu have made money from oil he could NOT export? Nigerian Naval Ship NNS QUORRA later became the Nigerian Navy’s first training school for Basic and Divisional (B& ) training. Today, it caters for various forms of seamen professional courses for officers and ratings. CIVIL WAR CONTRIBUTION
The NN performed various operations for the country, especially, after the abortive Aburi Talks of January 1967. It continuously policed Nigerian territorial waters to enforce the Federal Military Government’s order banning shipping in the Eastern part of the country. This action by the NN effectively blocked the Atlantic seabed and made it impossible for large-scale importation of much-needed arms and ammunition by the secessionists.
It is also noteworthy to mention the various amphibious landings, such as the Bonny landing of July 1967, which was hailed as the first of its kind by any third world country. The Bonny landing was followed by the Delta Ports amphibious operations which took place about mid September 1967 to recapture the ports of Warri, Koko and Sapele from the “Biafrans”.
Another major operation was mounted to liberate Calabar by November 1967 followed by the amphibious landing of the 3rd Marine Commandos at a beach-head in Oron to capture the mainland of Cross River State.
Besides these joint amphibious operations, naval ships especially NNS NIGERIA (now OBUMA) provided much needed logistics support by shipping arms and ammunition, providing casualty evacuation and carrying troops for reinforcement.
For instance, when the situation at Bonny during the landing became very critical, it was the timely arrival of NNS NIGERIA with troops’ reinforcement on 05 January 1967 that saved an ugly situation for the Federal Government. In his commendation message to Capt Soroh, the then Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, wrote:
‘…You have got all the right to feel proud, happy and contented with the result of the recent combined operations at Bonny which was your responsibility to see come off successfully. The Army Commander has sent me a signal saying how nobly well the Navy did in conveying landing and support fire role which the Navy gave to the Army at the operations in Bonny’. http://www.navy.mil.ng/History#.WTXoQJLyvIU ; http://esigieozoya.tripod.com/history.htm |

jpphilips: Because you don't believe doesn't mean it will not happen, all you need do is to sit back and relax then watch as events unfold, are you aware that when Biafra was declared a republic in 1967, Ojukwu seized UNN and renamed it University of Biafra? same with other FG assets? he wrote to Shell asking for all the Nigerian stakes in the JV, funny enough Shell paid once then refused,You guys have played that stunt before, surprising why you are scared of Nigeria returning the favour? you guys just don't have a clue what lies ahead, if Nigeria did not win that war, all the Nigerian assets in SE and SS are gone, we saw it in Sudan (pipeline), Crimea (Sea ports) and Kashmir (arable land), B!afra is a piece of cake.
At that point, it is no longer up to you to decide the policy direction of the Nigerian state, you wont even know when it will be decided, you will only witness the execution.
It is not just the law of Nigeria, it is a subset of an existing international law called "citizenship by birth" however, those laws are very dynamic once domesticated. your citizenship right is clearly bifurcated from property ownership, those who will retain their properties are likely igbos who still retain their Nigerian passport, any Igbo man with a biafran passport may forfeit his properties, that's a c0ck sure possibility. look at Taiwan and China for example, despite winning china in the 1949 war, Taiwan still regulate the amount of properties owned by the Chinese in Mainland Taiwan till date. Your citizenship by birth will be subject to legal interpretation whether there was a Biafra before you were born. If you choose Biafra over Nigeria, then you must trade that citizenship right, that's the least Nigeria will do, trust me on that, I ve seen it happen in so many countries.
Do you know that after Ukraine broke away from Russia, they seized some military wares from Russia? the chernobyl nuclear plant for example was seized from Russia.
