Somebody is being stupid obstructing a constituted security forces to carry out their constitutional duties. has Nigeria become so lawless that a state governor now stupidly abuse the immunity on him to commit crimes or take law to his hand ?!!!!!

Opposition is not played brainlessly . he should go to court for justice if he feel his right is being abused.

Lagos state was once the only AC/AD state in South West with PDP at the central doing the worse intimidation. BAT (Jagaban) was professional, civil and sensible in handling issues like this.

Guy, Nigeria is not legitimate. Just because a British opportunist called Lugard came in 1914 to force everyone together at gun point does not make Nigeria legitimate. If you want Nigeria to be legitimate, support a referendum let the indigenous ethnic groups Lord Lugard came to West Africa to force together, the option of opting in or out. If you say no, then dont expect peace or happiness by supporting the holding of people against their will.

Nigeria doesnt have as much legitimacy as Czechoslovakia, USSR and Yugoslavia who all broke up into smaller countries in the 1990's
Your statements are contradictory. You claim Nigeria was set up by the British through Lord Lugard's efforts, and it is therefore 'illegitimate.' Not so? What do you call a person or an entity that carries out an illegitimate action? In another breath, you claim the British who created Nigeria have used the referendum successfully on various occasions to resolve their internal issues, and so Nigeria should adopt the action of the British. Why should a country that you call illegitimate, adopt the action of another nation who created such an ''illegitimate contraption? shocked Or has the action of the British, suddenly become legitimate, because they have used the method of referendum successfully? huh

now, , it is a parent's job and duty to raise up his child in a love filled environment. Does that mean a child shouldn't be corrected if he misbehave? Okay, lets say you have a child who steal or lies, because, you want the child to develop according
to his nature or character, you will just pet your child and tell him, you are weldone, boy. that is your nature, continue in it. that is how you are mould, that is how you are created.

No child, I repeat, no untrained child is useful to
the society or his family. Why? Every child loves liberty and liberty is good but too much for kids is bad. Show them love, but don't spoil them. You might ask..how then can I show them love? You show them love by correcting them and impacting the right knowledge and attitudes into them. Every child has the tendercy to misbehave and will misbehave if not corrected when they are young.

Let me end by telling you this. Pac i mean tupac, as great as he his, as brilliant and inteligent as he his, he lacked one thing and that is his father training and it shows in him(look @ d kind of life he lived). Ask those hooligans and they will tell you, when I was young, I have nobody to tell me what am doing is wrong and then I thought that is how things should be, or they say, my parents don't care or one of those things.

too much over-sabi is bad. Philosophy has its advantages and but certainly, its disadvantages are higher. At the end, it makes someone looks foolish and stupid.

Biafrans don't want to share one country with nitwitts who celebrate the missing of 200 citizens.

Family › Re: PHOTO: What Would You Do If Your Child Returns From School Like This? by laudate: 5:06pm On Jan 23, 2017
Phaeze:
NO parent has the right to brainwash, coerce, or intimidate a child. The truth is that many children only gain an illusory freedom from their parents. They are still hardwired to the same belief system and cultural values. They are still trapped. They are like a virus spreading their parents' beliefs, who in turn spread their parents' beliefs, and so on back to the dawn of the religions of mass brainwashing and mind control. To be free means to be free of ancient and deadly poisons. To develop according to your own nature, character and personality, without any interference. The only thing you're not free to do is to harm others either directly or indirectly. It is only at that point that YOUR FREEDOM CAN BE INTERFERED WITH REGARDLESS OF YOUR WISHES. If you want to harm yourself, I can do my best to persuade you from getting on with it. If you're engrossed in a self-destructive behaviour, I can call you out on your folly, inform you of the consequences, and give advices, hoping to snap you out of it. But I have no right whatsoever to coerce you into submitting to my will, to force you to follow my advice. That's tyranny. This is the proper definition of freedom.

A parent's job is to lovingly raise free children, capable of maximising their potential and becoming heroes. It is never the job of parents to rigidly mould children in their own image. That is to treat children as a means to an end [so that a parent can revel joyously in narcissistically and selfishly gazing at its own reflection in its children] rather than as ends in themselves, free to become anything they want to be [as long as it poses no danger to the health and stability of the state], regardless of parental approval. A free society is one that prevents anyone from controlling children. A free society is one that does everything to allow children to be all that they can be according to their own unique characters and talents.

The idea that children are appendages of their parents is anathema. That's why society and government should be explicitly constructed to smash any possibility of a child's life being rigidly controlled by any pathetic tyrant. For example, if a parent wants to be a Jew, a Christian, a Muslim, an atheist, a Gnostic, a rightist, a leftist, a Marxist, an Ogun worshipper or whatever, THAT'S HIS BUSINESS. He has no right at all to impose it on his child as if he's some petty tyrant. Children are not the glove puppets of their parents. They are people in their own right and must be treated as such. They must be protected from the brainwashing that brainwashed parents seek to inflict on them.

The family, in some cases, has been a toxic breeding ground for neurosis and psychosis. Parents imagine that they "know" how to bring up their children better than anyone else. Really? Are they all psychological geniuses? Where are their parenting qualifications? How can they be sure that they are not inflicting huge psychological damage on their children? And if they can't be sure, shouldn't they be less arrogant about their "right" to do as they please with their offspring?

The task of parents is to love, protect and nurture their children, to provide the environment in which they will flourish and reach the maximum actualization of their potential. It is not the job of parents to force their children into a rigid mould of parental, religious and social expectations. It is not the job of parents to bring up their children in their own image. It is not the job of parents to be dictators and tyrants over their children. Rather, they must be helpful guardians, guides and mentors. They shouldn't be in the business of trying to makes them into "mini me's".

"They Bleep you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you up with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were bleeped up in their turn
By fools in oldstyle hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.

Man hand on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can.......
" - Philip Larkin, This Be The Verse

"We should listen more to children, communicate more with them, be friends with them, make them trust us, not hate us, deal with them kindly with love and understanding. Correct them with examples and kind words, relate with them the implications of their mistakes in their person, not threaten them. Beating a child won't solve the problem, but rather instill in them an anger that lingers, bitterness that stains, and fear that diminishes them" - John Williams, The Life and Philosophy of Johnydon22

CHILDREN ARE NOT PROPERTY. THEIR PARENTS DO NOT OWN THEM.THEIR PARENTS ARE NOT FREE TO DO WHATEVER THEY LIKE TO THEM. CHILDREN, LIKE NATIONS, SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO BE SELF-DETERMINED.
Your epistle is rather long. Nothing in my previous post mentioned anything about brainwashing, coercing, intimidating or using a heavy hand to raise kids. Neither did I advocate for kids to be turned into clones of their parents. But your response has revealed a few things.

1). You are obviously not a parent. sad

2). You had a rather poor relationship with your own parents. undecided Maybe grew up in a rather dysfunctional setting.

3). You do not understand the importance of imparting the right values to your children. Neither do you understand the primary role that parents play, in imparting the right values to their kids. shocked It goes deeper than just providing a safe environment for them and maximising their potential.

4). You still have a long way to go, if you think kids that are freely left to their own devices will magically turn out right, without proper guidance, discipline and input from their parents or elders. undecided

What are you talking about? Have you ever heard of a permanent military rule. Military rule always gives way to civilian rule in the end. It may take years but every country eventually returns to civilian rule because military rule is simply not sustainable.

Ironsi was killed 6 months into his adminiteration, he left 4 Regions. What Gowon should have done on assuming power was to preserve the 4 Regions he met and and beging planning for a phased return to civilian rule in 3 or 4 years. That way, civilians will still return to the 4 Regions that were on the ground and life goes on.

But because Gowon and his Northern goons knew that having a 4 Regional structure prevented them from dominating Nigeria, they abolished the 4 Regions, created 12 'weak' states, entrenched unitary rule and took away resource control.
