At a time your Obas are dumping your traditional attires to that of igbos and hausas. Shame.
Well, I should allow the Yoruba people to give you an answer to that one. sad But tell me, has the Oba of Lagos ever dumped his traditional attire for those worn by Igbo or Hausa? Has the Timi of Ede, Deji of Akure, Owa Obokun of Ijesha, Olowo of Owo, Olugbo of Ugbo, Alaafin of Oyo or Alake of Egba ever done so? Yes or No? huh Do you know how many Obas exist across the length and breadth of the SW?

-Yoruba people have got nothing to offer anybody, which is understandable for a tribe that survives on government patronage.
Sorry bro.' I know you are pained, but I speak only the truth. sad Gowon released Awolowo from Calabar prison. The facts are there in public domain. undecided And when it comes to Yorubas helping Igbo, there are several cases I have come across personally within Lagos.

Ngozi Nwosu the popular Igbo actress, got a financial lifeline for her treatment from the Lagos State Govt headed by Fashola in 2013. sad Even the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, presented a one million naira cheque to the immediate family of late actor, Obi Madubogwu, in December last year. It was collected by his widow Uju Ngozi Madubogwu. What were all the SE governors doing? Nothing.

After the civil war, most Igbo people got their house rents and properties back in Lagos, except for Ojukwu who led the rebel forces. So what are you talking about? I am not Yoruba, but I know several non-Yoruba families that benefited from the kind heartedness of Yorubas, over the years. So I speak from experience.... undecided

Sorry but maybe that is the case in the East. In the SW, hardly will you come across them in large numbers because Westerners are very fashionable and dress a lot in native attires, and are not in short supply of handy skilled tailors. Igbos are not as fashionable as Yorubas, particularly when it comes to dressing in native attire, i am sure you will agree woth me on that. Maybe the tailors you spaek of are only prolific in Aba but not the West.

Bro, this is not keep deceiving ur self syndrome.

hey, I av really traveled around this country. No be by mouth bro... In the east, those guys there are dam hustlers.. be it legal or illegal, they are hustlers to the core. I mean, forget all these rubbish online, even yorubas I meet daily usually use igbos as a example of people who hustle so much to make a decent life..

Now, the west u talk about, hope u are aware that many people there are Nigerians from other ethnic groups? Majority are igbos and hausas.

It was in Ibadan I saw people inheriting their great grand fathers' houses without renovating it.. in igbo land, houses and lands are seen as business. The major reason most south western states, excluding Lagos, have more brown roofs and dilapetated houses is because most of their youths are so comfortable with the way things are... I mean, travel to ibadan, from leventis, to iwo road, to Mokola, to Oke tonu, to Dugbe, etc, these are major towns in the city centre, they still have houses of great grand fathers and they av youths, i mean able body youths living there comfortably...

An average igbo man would av converted such places into serious business and pull down such structures.. I mean structures facing the major roads.. This is just an example..

At least i know ibadan very well. You get to Sango market, most of the shops that are big and doing fine are owned by igbos.. The city owners are mostly into sales of tomatoes, efor, agbo, etc on the floor. If u get to Queenslima market, over 90% of the main stores there are all owned by the igbos.. The computer stores, fashion stores, etc.. The igbos own these stores... go to dugbe markets, most of the main big stores there are owned by the igbos. Now, if u think im lying, please do visit these places i mentioned.

Unemployment among the igbos are very low. Why? I have never seen people like those guys before. The way these guys hustle in life, I never see. The yorubas offline use igbos as example of survivor.

Bro, forget the niaraland igbo vs yoruba nonsense, those guys from the east are something else. The above report is a general situation of the country. Im sure u will still attack this post shaaa.
So because those Yoruba youths have not demolished their ancestral homes, to build one modern-age monstrosity, you feel they do not know what they are doing? undecided There are some folks who can kill, lie and maim in order to gain access to property that should be jointly shared, or used by all members of the family.

But it requires greater wisdom to think of the interest of others, when trying to deal with communal assets. Do you even know that most of those houses are jointly owned by descendants of such families, not just a single person?

In Abeokuta, I visited an old friend just on the outskirts of the capital. He hosted me in his grandparents' house. It was a sprawling edifice built of mud bricks but the roof had been changed, and the house was still rock solid and very neat. I asked him the same question, and his reply was instructive. sad

"It belonged to my great grandfather. It is our traditional homestead. Everyone has his own room within the place. It represents a valuable piece of our heritage. The courtyard where my grandfather used to sit, to adjudicate matters arising between his people is still there.

My great aunt still lives there with her grandchildren, the place where my uncle took refuge from the colonial masters is still there...if I pull all these down, I would be wiping out a great part of my ancestral history.

Besides, where would I send the residents of the house to, if I pull it down?"
shocked

His answer made a lot of sense to me. And I hope it makes sense to you as well....meanwhile this chap also has a penthouse in Victoria Island overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, where he lives with his wife and kids.

I had to. Lol. It just had to be aired!

Women would never be respected because of people like the OP (the OP inclusive). If she thinks her virginity status would make her immune from jerks she is in for a rude shock.

But nairalanders cannot think deep. Truth is virginity in given to ones spouse is beautiful. People have been bashing women here thinking that they are pained loosing their virginity. So far from the truth!

Point I have been making to the OP is that she is consciously cheering men on. They have no scruples. The world is theirs and would forever be theirs when women like the OP think they are doing the world a lot of good by preaching women should remain chaste till marriage. Instead they are raising a generation of unscrupulous and entitled men who would still end up rubbishing you!

Challenge men to so the same too! That is all I've been trying to say and not virginity is useless! Women also deserve decent men as husbands!

Imagine the shock in the OPs post when a man said he married as a virgin!!! Means its not something she expects from men but of women. That is an absolutely foolish thought!
Word! cheesy You are so right. Like I keep telling people, when it comes to marriage, there are far more important things to look out for. Don't base everything on virginity. Every woman was once a virgin. Some lost theirs' before marriage, others did so after marriage. sad

It does not mean that all who lost theirs' before marriage, were bad, reckless or promiscuous. Some did so out of ignorance. Others did so because they were unfortunately caught in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

As long as you treat your body as the temple of God, and you respect your body, no problem. As for those who lost their virginity before marriage, who did they lose it to? Wasn't it the guys? huh So how come all these 'sexually confident' advocates are not preaching about sexual purity for men? huh

Sorry about your aunt, but those are some of the things that are swept under the carpet in churches and in Christendom, as a whole. undecided

One of my family friends who is a pastor's wife had to start a whole series of teachings in her church, on such issues. Some churches will even tell engaged couples not to visit each other's houses, and they cannot hold hands, even in a public place. Too many things are over-spiritualised out of context, instead of people using their God-given brains and common sense, to make sure they take sensible or appropriate precautions when it comes to marriage. sad

You see ladies of over 30 to 35 and above who are Christian virgins, and who should be taking a long hard look at their lives, with a view to settling down, turning round to become smug, self-centred, judgemental, 'holy-holy', self-righteous women, because they think their virginity has conferred a superior, supernatural status upon them.

By the time they clock 40, they start wishing they had been more observant and less judgmental. That is when they realise there is a problem, and they start seeking prayer partners, mantle, and anointing oil up and down. Abeg, I have seen all sorts in Christendom. May God deliver us all from evil.

This post is a way to downplay chastity. If you don't know that, then it's unfortunate. How I'm I judgemental? By standing for Chasity?.. You can't keep deceiving yourself. Who wants you to be pure, God or the devil?

We can't keep breeding Christians who don't want to please God with their bodies.

The naive Christian girls, made wrong choices because they are chaste?... The devil is a liar!

So a Christian girl automatically, can't study a potential husband, can't also check for anger issues, money management issues, etc, simply because she adopted sexual purity?... Again the devil is a liar.

So the ones with brains are the ones, jumping from one sexual partner to another, having dozens of breakup sex, doing flushing, filthy lifestyle etc... These are the ones who have "studied" their partners abi? Yet we have more marital failures among such..
Oh, you won't see it, But church workers, who probably think like you.

Again, I'm not a Muslim or traditionalist, hence can answer for them... Except those for evil manipulation, the Muslim and traditionalist respect chastity and sexual purity.

Look, this level of sexual filth, some of us want to make permissible, can't have a good ending. It's against God's design and it's the campaign of the devil.
How does my post downplay chastity?? shocked Spell it out in chapter and verse! sad Stop flinging around words like "unfortunate" because it does not address anything.

I asked you a question earlier, and instead of answering it, you kept jumping up and down from pillar to post by claiming you are not a Muslim or a traditional worshipper. You do not have to be one to answer the question. Let me repeat it here again, so that others can listen and learn.

There are Muslims and traditional worshippers who are virgins. Are such virgins superior to Christian non-virgins, or virgins? huh Yes or No? There is no need for any long story. sad

I have not told anyone to get rid of their virginity, or to go out and become sexually reckless or promiscuous. I would never advocate that. angry But I would stress that 'please open your eyes and ears' by making sure you know your partner very well, before taking the plunge or getting married. Too many people have made wrong choices, by not being observant.

Are you saying that women who married as virgins never had marital failures? Or they never got divorced? huh By the way, how many Christian virgins do you even know?

You claimed that: "So a Christian girl automatically, can't study a potential husband, can't also check for anger issues, money management issues, etc, simply because she adopted sexual purity?... Again the devil is a liar." Yes, many Christian virgins cannot check for such issues, because they are too naive, tend to over-spiritualise things to the extent of not using their God-given common sense, and often end up being in awe of the men they are engaged to, because they lack knowledge! Again I repeat: "How many Christian virgins of marriageable age, do you know?" huh

Sadly, the lopsided, judgemental gospel being preached in many churches is responsible for such errors. undecided And that is why there is so much pretence, within the church! sad
