You are the one who needs to 'receive sense'. Do you see him vehemently denying it? He has been busted here as an Anambra boy. He was confronted about it and couldn't deny it, so next time stop holding brief for others when they can defend themselves. Is Anambra doing better than Lagos or any other Yoruba state for that matter? Ogun no dey there for him to praise as a Yoruba, but he can praise Anambra. He also calls Yoruba people 'afonja' in a derisive manner. Which Yoruba person does that or would spend all his life on Nairaland attacking Lagos while having only sweet praises for Anambra? How come he NEVER has anything good, not even one, to say about Lagos, but is always praising Anambra? He can defend himself. Evidences are enough to expose him.
Please which evidence are you talking about? huh So because he cited some examples involving Anambra, you feel he is an Igbo man or an Anambra indigene? Biko, receive sense nah. undecided Show me where he stated in black & white that he was Igbo, or that he hailed from Anambra.

I personally have cited several examples in the Southwest before, so does it mean I hail from there? Guy, you are smarter than this...why you come dey fall my hand, nah? shocked

Participants displaying during the 2018 Lagos Boat Regatta at the Lagoon Waterfront, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Sunday, April 1, 2018.
Lagosians do NOT need a regatta. sad They need efficient, effective means of water transport to convey goods and passengers from Badagry to Epe, Victoria Island to Apapa, Ikoyi to Ikorodu, Ikota to Majidun, CMS to Mile 2, Ajah to Victoria Island, Ajangbadi to TinCan etc., in a timely, safe and regular manner. The routes must be publicised, the water channels must be dredged, the boats/ferries must be well-equipped and the trips must be done every single hour at an affordable rate. Only after all this has been done, can the regatta make sense..... angry

They do not need rickety wooden boats run by private operators that can capsize at the drop of a hat. They do not need corrupt officials who collude with boat operators to run defective watercraft that are not certified. Lagosians deserve better than that! undecided

Jakande did great in his time, but Fashola is still the best and the most accomplished governor in the history of Nigeria.

Ambode is doing OK, but not good enough per Lagos standard and at this stage during Fashola's admin, Fashola was commissioning multiple projects per day, from waterworks to power plants, hospitals, maternity centers, skills acquisition centers, largest court building in Nigeria, shopping centers, roads, bridges including still the best bridge in Nigeria, the Lekki Ikoyi bridge, markets, Rice mill, Lagos state police command center, LAWMA infrastructure loading zones and equipment and buiolding up agencies like LASEMA, LASAA, housing estates and so on.

Fashola revamped and almost completed Lagos Metro Rail that Jaconde was denied 30 years before and that projects remain the largest public works project in Africa today.

Fashola actually built more housing estates than Jakande many times over, but funny enough, Fashola did all that with half of Ambode's budget.
I agree with most of what you said, but Fashola did not build more low cost housing estates than Jakande did, during his tenure as governor. Jakande and Mobolaji Johnson were the state governors who revolutionised the face of housing in Lagos state, till today.

Welcome to Lagos! The newest country in West Africa.

Ambode is keeping it real. Lateef Jakande still remains the best all time Governor in Nigeria.
He was pro-masses and always considered the interests of the commoners .

Much of what has been in place: low cost housing estates, public schools, State owned Television and radio stations etc were put in place by him.
Yes, o.....and Ambode has not constructed a single low-cost housing estate since he became governor. This same factor worked against Fashola when he contested for a second-term as governor, because JK Randle tackled him on it.

Simple Question - Why am I climbing upstairs to go to Ibadan?

If you say shopping mall and offices in Oshodi I'll have to ask you how far with Tejuosho.

Some will believe that this initiative makes sense. However, if you inherited 6 billion Naira would you spend it on this? When would you break even?

Governance and Public administration is much more than Glory Projects that enrich cronies.

Everyone must count.

Understand this: The only people that shoulder the loss in a White Elephant Project are the taxpayers.

Everyone else, contractor, shell company, government kickback receiver, they all make crazy profit.

I am not bothered by the construction of the bus terminal or shopping centre in Oshodi or Tejuosho. undecided I am just bothered about its' sustainability and maintenance, as well as the convenience of those who live and work within that district. The new shopping mall will be built. Very good. sad But how long will it take before it falls into disrepair and disuse? How long will it take before graphitti starts to deface the walls, and miscreants, untidy structures and filth take over the adjoining spaces? huh How long before increased vehicular traffic takes over every available space, and itinerant salespeople and their shoppers, litter the walkways? What will be done to maintain its pristine state? That is the million dollar question....

Same thing happened to us. Our power supply was nothing to write home about for months and to worsen matters, some hoodlums raided our transformers and stole the cables. Again, our transformer was load shedded much more than others. It was all pretty frustrating. My hubby didn't want to rustle anyone's feathers but at that point I couldn't care less.

Called first but on getting a few condescending replies, wrote to NERC in Abuja. The rest they say is history.

The cables of the 2 transformers in my street that was stolen was replaced for free in less than a week. The power supply also improved remarkably to almost 4 days uninterrupted light, something I have never seen in my lifetime. Of course they corrected the load shedding anomaly. The network manager was instructed from powers above to apologise to me for causing me grief. Please note that at no point did I visit anyone in any office. All I did was call and send emails.

Although the power supply has dropped, we still enjoy at least 15 to 18 hours power supply daily. My quality of life has improved remarkably too. The condescending replies stopped. I was no longer seen as an irritant. All future inquiries was answered respectfully and with a yes Ma at the end. Any missed calls returned.

Told a few of my colleagues about this and their issues were resolved remarkably too. In this country, we are truly the ones that limit ourselves.

24-year-old Nigerian author gets Hollywood deal for new book | By Jane Augoye | Premium Times, March 18, 2018.

When Tomi Adeyemi, a Nigerian-American author, started writing her critically acclaimed Young-Adult Fantasy book, titled ‘Children of Blood and Bone,’ she had no idea it would become so successful that it would attract the attention of one of the top film production houses, in America.

https://olorisupergal.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/20180307_191248.jpg

Adeyemi's first novel which was launched on March 6th this year, has just been signed up by Hollywood Fox Studios in a mouth-watering seven figure book-and-movie deal. It was acclaimed as a “Black Lives Matter-inspired fantasy novel,” a year ago.

Fox 2000, which purchased the film rights before the novel was released, was so impressed by the 24-year-old’s writing style that they tagged the project as being as successful as its other YA franchises, Twilight and Maze Runner.

https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1516127989l/34728667.jpg

Almost a year before it hit shelves, the novel was making headlines. In March 2017, it was reported that Adeyemi had earned a seven-figure book deal for her young-adult trilogy. Fox Studios noted that it was so impressed with the 24-year-old’s writing, that it decided to obtain the film rights before the novel was even released.

https://okp-cdn.okayplayer.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/pri_36561456.jpg

Ms Adeyemi, the daughter of a Nigerian medical doctor and hospice trader, was born in the U.S. and currently lives in San Diego.

Adeyemi, who has been referred to as the next J.K. Rowling (writer of the successful Harry Potter series), created an epic tale of an oppressive world that a lot of black people can relate with.

https://thegeekiary.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/2017-07-22-11.44.45-e1502658751685.jpg

She hinged her characters, their conversations and habitats on the rich culture and traditions of her indigenous Yoruba culture. Her book is steeped in traditional Yoruba folklore, and its pantheon of mystical gods known as the Orishas. Her book got to number 1 on the New York Times Young Adult Hardcover Best Sellers list!

The book follows the protagonist ‘Zelie’, who at six years old watched the king’s guards hang her mother on a tree outside her home.

She never forgot it. "In the beginning, every Orïshan was a magi: born with dark skin, stark white hair and the blessing of the god’s magic once they reached adulthood. Yet over time, their population dwindled and they became Orïsha’s minority. Magic became a thing to loathe, dark skin transformed into a thing to hate...." The problem with Nigeria can be explained in 4 simple sentences:

I: Unless a society runs a merit-based system, all sectors deteriorate.
II: Nigeria tried merit before and ended up with Igbos leading EVERY sector (economy, education, military, science, transport, trade, diplomacy etc).
III: Nigeria refuses to go back to merit because of 'risk' of Igbo domination.
IV: Nigeria cannot improve, because it cannot run a merit-based society.
Igbo people (the engine of Nigeria’s advancement), are stifled by an Islam-motivated cabal which prefers power to meritocracy. Igbo ostracisation is the main reason for Nigeria’s irreversible backwardness.

@anastacy .I wonder why infinix would say they don't have the materials for charging port issue when the charging port is sold for just 3k. I used the same infinix hot s last year. Worked well the first few months and then it started taking forever to charge. I didn't even bother to go to carlcare, took it to computer village and changed the charging port for 3k. After 3 months the same issue reoccurred and changed the charging port again. Then sold off the nonsense phone, got myself a galaxy s7 edge. I'm done with infinix. Though the s7 edge later started lagging after I upgraded to Android 7.0 and now I'm using LG v20 which works like a charm.

My wife uses infinix hot 4 pro and we changed the charging port 2 weeks ago, same issue. My neighbor uses note 3 and she has also changed the charging port. Infinix have a major issue with charging port, I wonder what they make these things out of. And God help u if u buy one of their phones with flash charging, I can guarantee u that under 5 months the flash charging will seize to work. And it's a shame that the newly released hot s3 still comes with the same micro USB instead of type c.
You are so-oo-oo right! I have experienced charging port issues with my Infinix phone, over and over again! angry

So i am really pissed with Infinix and i wonder if my being angry is genuine or if i am the only with this issue. Long Post Alert!

I decided to stoop so low from my usual Samsung brand to Inifnix (yes, i have realized both brands are incomparable)just because of the Infinix hype all over, i though lower cost compared to Samsung but valuable, i was so wrong. I bought the brand new Infinix Hot S, N55,000 from a 3C hub store. After about two months, this phone went off and refused to come back on, i took it back to 3C hub, their engineer did something and it came back on so it appeared it was a minor issue, i thanked him and left.

Used the phone for another two months, and this phone started heating up unnecessarily, like seriously heating up and it stopped charging. I sent it back because it has a one year warranty and they referred me to Carlcare all the way in Ikeja when i work on the Island plus my tight working schedule, thank God for my cousin who helped, After 3days, she got an SMS to pick it up, she went again for my sake. I received the phone, lo and behold it wasn't detecting any network which is a different problem all together, i sent her back again, it stayed for another 4 days before she went back again (to and fro Ikeja 4 times) to collect it for me and it was working well. Though i stayed without an android phone all these while. That chapter closed.

Meanwhile, Phone is a 16GB and memory was full and always requesting i delete things so i bought a memory card and then i realized this phone wasn't detecting memory card, i got tired and decided to delete apps and use the phone like that, so i kept on going through the stress of deleting whenever it's full.

Fast forward to about 8/9months of purchase, this phone battery started draining quickly and started taking time to charge so i had to charge regularly, I thought the charger was weak so i bought another infinix charger from slot, same story, managed it for another one month but kept on trying different chargers. At a point i went to 3C hub which is closer to me and told them, "please give me any original brand of charger that will charge my phone, i will buy it". No matter the brand because i gave up on Infinix which i bought again. Finally, at the 11th month, this phone started using about 10hrs to charge to 100percent if it manages to get there then it drains in less than an hour. Battery is fixed so i can't change it. I took the phone to Carlcare VI because Ikeja is just too far and the lady referred me back to their head office in the same Ikeja saying they don't have the material to fix the phone. I gave it to my brother this time to help me take it back to Carl care Ikeja, after 5 days he checked back, same story, they don't have the material to fix the phone but they will swap for me with an Infinix Note 4 but i will pay an extra 10k. hmmm, i checked the price in Slot and saw the following:

My Hot S as at time of purchase: N55,000
Present HOT S price: N45,000
NOTE 4 16GB/2GB RAM: N53,000
NOTE 4 32GB/3GBRAM: N59,000
NOTE 4 PRO: N67,000

I agreed to pay the extra N10,000 but i want the 32GB/3GB RAM and they refused saying i will need to pay N16,000 for it, at this point i was getting pissed already and even my brother who was there was also angry. I gave it a thought and called back, told him i will rather pay extra and take the the NOTE 4 PRO and he should ask how much extra i need to pay and they said they only SWAP with NOTE 4 and not the Pro. Even when i am ready to pay extra instead of settling for the nonsense they plan to give me in return?

Finally i just grudgingly paid the N16,000 i didnt budget for and then i was told to come for it the next week, Come back again? shocked (no exact day). Making to and fro Ikeja, how many times?

Anyway, this phone has 3 colours (Black, Gold and Ice Blue) I want the Ice blue but i will manage the black if not available. According to my brother now, he wasn't even able to select a colour because it seems he was being treated like a regular person in need.

So i will just sit and wait till next week and see what they bring my way. I dislike gold colour phones so Heaven bless them, they bring me a gold colour and tell me that's what is available. Then i will go to that office for the first time and pour out all the frustrations of thE Infinix phone on them and make them realize i didn't pick the money from the floor, neither am i begging for a phone. So if you know Infinix or anyone that works there, please tell them to respect themselves and respect my small money. lipsrsealed

I don't even know the issues this new phone will come with, i don't even know if i made the right choice. Pheeww!!! huh
I made the same mistake you did, bro.' And I'm still regretting it till today. cry I switched from a Samsung to an Infinix Note 4. Five months later, it has been one tale of woe to another. It first stopped charging beyond 25%. It would get to 25% and just get stuck there, no matter how long you connected it to the charger. undecided I took it to Carlcare in Victoria Island, only to be met by an uncaring, unhelpful set of people. sad

I was told the battery had a problem, but they didn't have new batteries in stock and should come back next week. sad Ok, I sought a second opinion from another cell phone shop and was told it was the charging point. This was duly fixed and the battery started charging again. 3 weeks later, I discovered that the battery was draining out rapidly. I mean, I would have a full charge of 100% on the phone, but after 30-45 minutes of usage, the battery would go down to 15%. I mean wtf? shocked

Went back to Carlcare, and again the same story - no new batteries. Check back after 4 weeks. undecided 2 weeks later, the charging port got faulty again. I have just about given up, now. Please why is after-sales service so poor in this country? And the clowns who represent Infinix in this country, are just too clueless for words! angry
