ShootToKill: Igbos mainly traded with the Binis, there WAS NO SUCCESSFUL CONQUEST of Igboland by Bini. It was just not possible. Asaba was founded by an Igbo Prince Chima who crossed the river, and Onitsha does not pay homage to Bini. The matrix of Igbo-Bini relationship in western Igbo land was oiled by trade. The word 'Midwest Igbos', 'Delta-Igbo' were invented before and after the civil war as political phrases. 'Delta' is not a Bini word. Guy, there are Igbo communities in Delta state, that have Enogies as their traditional rulers. How come? Was it because of trade, that their traditional rulers adopted a Bini title, or were they vassal states of the Bini? Simple question. |
Politics › Re: No One Can Defeat Fulani In Nigeria —Bello, Fulani National Leader by laudate: 10:20pm On Jan 27, 2018 |
ShootToKill: But the Binis have been Igbo neighbours to the west from time immemorial yet they couldn't conquer the Igbos but were able extend their empire into yorubaland and even name gave lagos it's native name 'Eko'. The obaship of lagos in Iga idungaran is tied to the Bini empire not to oyo or Ife.
Let me remind you that yorubas are most conquered tribe down south. Conquered by the fulani caliphate, conquered by Dahomey teenage girls, conquered by Nupe, overconquered by Binis and lastly by the British.
If Igbos were not republicans who loved to mind their own biz in the spirit of Biri kam biri ('live and let's live') , you'd be answering a name like 'Okonta' by now, not by choice but by force.
Interesting! And all those Delta-Igbo communities that had Enogies as their traditional rulers, were.... what? Vassal states of the Bini or their conquered territories? And what about Onitsha? Wasn't it established by a Benin prince? |

ChangeIsCostant: A Nigerian man with a big heart, Jude Idada (pictured below) has narrated his encounter with a Masters degree holder who works as a security guard in Ikeja area of Lagos. After paying for his transport fare and buying him food, the good Samaritan, Jude, also gave the man some money to take care of himself.
The interesting part is that the good Samaritan also told his wealthy friend about the man he met on the bus and how he is struggling to take care of his family with two jobs. His friend transferred N250,000 to the man after speaking with him on the phone.
Read what the good Samaritan Jude shared on Facebook;
These things you can't see just by looking at a person.
In the bus from Sabo, Yaba to Obalende, the man sitting by me kept handling his pockets for the extra money the conductor was requesting for.
He had thought it was 100 naira and was surprised it was 200 naira.
I told him not to bother and paid it.
He was efusive with thanks and no sooner called a woman who was standing by the road with a tray of bread and butter.
100 naira bread.
She asked if he wanted some butter.
He answered in the negative.
I looked at him.
He was staring at the woman with such concentration as she packed up the bread.
He noticed my gaze and turned to me.
There was an apologetic smile on his face.
"Sorry bros, but I never eat since morning."
It was 7.45 p.m.
Already dark.
I smiled, turned to the woman and asked her to butter up the bread.
I called out to another hawker who was passing with a pack of cold drinks.
I turned to him and asked what he wanted.
He was looking at me dumbstruck.
The conductor pounded on the roof of the bus. A signal to the driver that it was time to move.
The driver engaged the gear and was about to move, it was as though the slight jerk of the boss awakened the man.
He hollered.
"Duro!"
The driver stopped.
"Kilon shele?"
"Mo fe ra onje."
"Shey kia!"
He turned to me.
"Coke."
I bought two bottles of coke and paid for the bread.
The bus hurtled away towards Obalende.
And he told me a tale of woe.
Masters degree holder but working as a security guard in Ikeja.
Resuming today as a security guard in VI for the night shift.
2 jobs.
A wife and a kid.
I listened.
We got to Obalende.
Gave him some more money.
Stopped him from kneeling down in the bus park in gratitude.
Exchanged numbers and bade him farewell.
From there I headed to the Japanese restaurant Shiro in VI for dinner with my very wealthy friend.
And I told him of my decision to travel Lagos by bus for a week and more to meet the 'real' Lagosians.
He was intrigued.
Then I told him of the man I had just met on my way from Yaba.
And he was moved.
So moved that he had me call him and he spoke with him.
After which he collected his bank details and right in my presence, he transferred 250k to the man.
My eyes are misty.
In this city there are demons and there are angels.
I am happy that my friend proved to be the latter.
And a life was touched.
Lagos.

May God bless the man who bought him food, and narrated his story to a friend. And may God always bless that stranger who transfered 250k into the guard's account. Am so touched..... |

The pastor only denied having an affair with her. But wait o....the names of the payee on the transfers are inconsistent. One says "Apostle Johnson Suleiman." Another transfer detail shows "Johnson Suleiman Johnson Suleiman." How come? Did the money come from two different accounts? And how come the details of Suleiman's account or banks, are not included in the transfer details? Was it an internal transfer (i.e. from one UBA Customer Account to another UBA Customer account) or was it an inter-bank transfer? |

DavidEsq: Apostle Johnson Suleiman is powerful. Don't get me wrong. Being powerful in dis context is not to be equated with God being on ur side. I picked a few inconsistencies in her speech: 1. "I was desperate to pursue my musical career". 2. "They promised me job. 3. "They gave me a lot of mny".
Since she was desperate to pursue her musical career, how does dat connect with a job, since the supposed musical career wld have been very well taken care of with the plenty of cash she was given? This lady had run out of cash to pursue her case in court and the only persons who wld have pursued it for her pro bono didn't see a chance of success, due to limited evidence an the available evidence that wld hav nailed Apostle, spot on was too costly to obtain, as she wld have had to sponsor several flights to Nigeria immigration (passport ticket/travel evidence) and bottle necks situations with telecom companies (call records), etc. At the same time, her life was in danger and she made dis clear on several occasions. Lastly, I guess Politicians also paid Daniella Okeke to have Apostle's Benz in her house, with the clear evidence of the details of the car in FRSCN records was that of the Apostle. As I earlier said, Apostle is indeed a "powerful" man. What trip does she need to make to immigration..... to do what? When the immigration entry stamps and departure stamps inside her passport, as well as her boarding pass stubs, are enough evidence that she took the trip? Doesn't she have copies of her airline tickets? So what on earth does she need the immigration for? And if she has a post-paid line, her call records will be made available to her on demand. If she is a pre-paid customer, all she needs is to get the police as well as her lawyer, to write to the telco to release her call records. Finish. So what other challenges would she have faced in getting the evidence, if it really existed? If truly she and the pastor met at the hotels in Lagos, all hotels are mandated to have CCTV. Again such CCTV footage can be reviewed on the days the duo met in such hotels, for evidence. If such evidence does not exist, then there is no way she can substantiate her claims. But if it exists, then it can be obtained. So what is she talking about? |

If you weren't interested in going, and the lady refuse to come down, just shut down your vehicle and step out of it and take a few steps back to where people are and tell me if she won't find her way in the worst case scenario. Not drag with your rider or be vindictive with them even when they are wrong because at the end of the day, he lost the platform for not handling the issue properly.
The lady herself is not exonerated, because it's like she had chances to escape for her dear life at every act but she decided to see the worse that could go wrong. It means she is trouble and she has so much confidence in her pepper spray to always help with that in tough times. I can bet that she must have been very rude and nasty to warrant such reaction.

olaboy1: The video is very clear for any Lagos lame man to understand what went down. It’s not uncommon for Lagos drivers to drive stubborn riders to the middle of nowhere and dump the passenger there, or the driver leaving the passengers in the car and go there way...danfo drivers do this a lot. From that video one could see clearly she was not in any danger to warrant a rape allegation, alright she could file for harassment and NOT sexual harassment.
The driver physically harassed her after she used a pepper spray on him for no good reason, at the time pepper spray was applied she was not in any physical confrontation with the accused. Also note she applied the pepper spray whilst she was sitting in the car and the driver standing outside of the car with the window down. The pepper spray got the driver angry and to be honest who wouldn’t, and it was at that point the driver dragged her out of the car.
This video does not prove or establish beyond a reasonable doubt that she was a victim of attempted rape and abduction, she is only using her celebrity card to win national sympathy. It’s these kind of videos that make people wary of rape claims.
The driver should consider himself lucky for that video and this is an eye opener to other drivers to start a video recording once they feel a rider would cause any problems. Even if you can’t get the video, get a voice recording. You talk am well! |
