Gayatri: I appreciate knowing that you are a microbiologist, i have many of them as friends, and its nice to meet you Sir.
In as much as the mineral silicon in beer is beneficial for bone health, wine without sulfites do! Though it is almost impossible to have a completely sulfite-free wine, there are still sulfite-free wines that help the bones stay strong. In fact, some research has proven that daily moderate wine drinking does help with bone density.
As we age, our bones become brittle and while we can use extra calcium, wine does the trick too! The moderate consumption of any red wine, provides the minerals that help keep one's bones strong.
Wine contains many antioxidants but i'ma write briefly on the one i mentioned earlier; Resveratrol.
Resveratrol (RSV) possess anti- inflammatory properties and bone protective effects. It primarily stimulates the formation or mineralization of the bones. Resveratrol-containing supplements are recommended for patients with type 2 diabetes, Osteoporosis, Obesed patients (especially in men), and those having other forms of bone problem.
Resveratrol also aids in bone healing and repair after surgical procedures or trauma. It promotes osteoblastohenesis. There are many more to this antioxidant. The key word there to all this, whether wine or beer is "MODERATION"
Well, I'm a Young med. Biochemist and a Survivor of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis. Which is why i write on bone health. I'm planning to set up a program where people get to write their story. Meanwhile, my website http://wellnesscenter.lettersfromgatrielle.com promotes natural remedies, ones that have helped me and my clients, fight Joint pain, Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoporosis etc..>>>http://wellnesscenter.lettersfromgatrielle.com Well said! Meanwhile, I'm an industrial microbiologist with experience in brewery.. Unlike wines beer helps in diverse ways; 1. Help reduce risk of heart disease. 2. Protect against Alzheimer’s disease 3. Lower risk of diabetes 4. Help prevent kidney stones 5. Minimize risk of cancer Beer contains an important antioxidant known as xanthohumol. Xanthohumol is known to have powerful anti-cancer properties that help fend off cancer-causing enzymes in the body. 6. Help reduce cholesterol levels If you’d like an unorthodox method for cutting your cholesterol levels, indulging in moderate beer consumption may be the way to go. The barley used in brewing of beer contains a type of soluble fiber known as beta-glucans that has been shown to help in lowering cholesterol levels. 7. Help manage blood pressure 8. Help strengthen bones Beer contains decent levels of silicon, an element that is linked with bone health. One study conducted at Tufts in 2009 established that older individuals who drank one or two glasses of beer daily had higher bone density, and thus were less prone to fractures than those who did not enjoy a glass of beer or wine. However, the study also found that consuming more than two drinks increased risk of bone fractures. 9. Help treat dandruff Another interesting fact about beer is that it is considered one of the best natural treatments for dandruff. This particular health benefit of beer is attributed to its high yeast and vitamin B content levels. Just rinse your hair with a bottle of beer two to three times a week to get rid of dandruff and make your hair extra soft and shiny. 10. Help cut down risk of strokes Studies by the American Stroke Association have shown that people who drink moderate amounts of beer can cut their risk of strokes by – get this – a whopping 50% compared to non-drinkers. My take; wines are good too buh i will take beer over wines any day.. Nice to meet you tho! |

omenka: Very little minded people with absolutely nothing to their name always feel the need to put others down to validate their own superiority.
You feel awfully little about yourself that's why you have to make others appear little in your own eyes so you may appear big. A giant doesn't need to remind a dwarf he is a dwarf, the dwarf simply knows it. You feel inferior, that's why you always engage in a shouting match reminding others you're better than them.
Get over yourself and get some self esteem. It helps one's character.
Have a nice day. Good luck. Finishing.. |

Farid24224: As you said not all Muslims are bad and its more than a handful of them, its just that you haven't met one before. And you talked about your experience working with dangote... Am sorry for what happened to you but you should know that happens everywhere..... It's okay Fareed, I have good friends among them too. Friends that could go out of their ways to do anything for me, muslim friends I can take home to mama. buh mind you, 90% are bad. Why will somebody be walking around with a dagger and unchallenged all because he is hausa/fulani?! That's the kind of environment we live cos there's serious problem in the country. Until we put away religion extermism and value ourselves as Africans first else Peace will be an elusive thing. |
Politics › Re: Boko Haram Gives Reason For Killing Farmers In Zabarmari, Issues New Warning by Lavisha(f): 9:19pm On Dec 02, 2020 |
Farid24224: I was born and grew up in the North and nobody made me to believe anything... I saw and felt Islam in my blood, I read the Qur'an which is the best book in the world, the hadith too. Islam is not a bad religion, am not trying to and I will never criticize any other religion just because some members are using it to commit terrorism. Boko Haram are Evil, I really and we Muslims want them away not only because of the damages they've caused to humanity but to our religion. Just see what happened days back, farmers were massacred and am pretty sure they are Muslims.. Why will Boko Haram kills it member?? That is just even enough to show you that Boko Haram are not Muslims.... They think they are but they aren't....So you should stop thinking of us as some kind of barbarians, blood sucking demons.. I have a lot of Christian friends, I mean damn many of 'em and we are really close here in Kano... Hearing this from you and from other Christians here in Nairaland, I have started to think negatively about my friends....We playing together but they are scared and cursing me from the inside. Have you ever thought of being very friendly with the Muslims and see what will happen? HELL NO!! But am pretty sure if you do, we would never have grudges against each other and Boko Haram will be defeated because we both are against them... The problem with the core northerners is they left their culture and adopted the arab religion. From where I came from, we place or values on "Tribe and culture" before religion. That is why you will see a former muslim Lagos gov has a christian wife: they live happily cos no one forces his religion upon the other and vice versa; they put their tribe above the religion. My Grandma was a Muslim and grandpa a Christian etc. but when it comes to Northerners, they are the most holy, they're more holier than the arab sef. Everything is extremism, zero tolerance, zero social skills but they do worse things inside. Honestly, there are handful of good muslims out there but the majority are either a potential terrorists or terrorist apologetics. I work with Dangote, you need to come see how your people behave here all because they're hausa and their brother is the owner of the company. Meanwhile, I've worked with Flour Mills of Nig, Guiness, Coca-Cola, Cap plc and many multi nationals before my present job. seeing them hausa tout and Terrorist as staff here, I just shake my head. Dangote management is bad also because of these lot;90% of them are illiterates. Any slight provocation, they will draw out a dagger, they just want to have everything done in their barbarian ways. Sometimes, I'm ashamed to be called a Nigerian all cos of these people. Joining the West, East and North was a terrible mistake, we should have a separate country. |
