Nkenna is not the kind of person you stick up for based on ties as tenuous as countrymanship in a game only one person can win. For someone like her 'I've got your back' actually means 'I've got your back in my sights' and she will waste no time in pulling the trigger when you least expect. Yes, she is a Nigerian, (sadly) but the fact remains that with three nigerians in that house, we are always going to be in the eye of the storm of African beef.

If you know anyone with green fingers, you'll know that the process of pruning cuts away the less desirable parts of a plant to provoke aggressive growth for the rest of the plant. We have been inadvertently handed an opportunity to prune our numbers in the house and,(get this) actually enhance our chances of winning this thing. If there are three Nigerians in the house, at some point our votes will be divided amongst them and none may benefit. But if we have one person behind whom we throw the collective weight of the Naija spirit, this united front represents the best opportunity for us to see a nigerian in the final.

We are not sacrificing Nkenna for Emma or Elizabeth. We are sacrificing her for Kevin and Geraldine.  Don't get it twisted.

Nkenna's so gone.

If two are leaving, Nkenna and Emma will walk. Elizabeth will survive it.

Why would you come on here and try to malign Kevin like this? I know MI personally as well as professionally. We have worked on a number of projects together (i work in advertising) and when we needed a compere for a Soya drink activation drive, he gave us Kevin. Kevin's payment for that job was routed through Chocolate City Records. There is no way MI could have told you that Big Brother is the first place he is seeing Kevin.

Not too sure about that. Does this mean that if Kevin gets the highest number of votes and Elizabeth gets the lowest, then Kevin will be evicted? I think each pair is as strong as its strongest member, so in the scenario i described Elizabeth will be saved by Kevin's votes, not Kevin being evicted by Elizabeth's lack of votes.  Or is each pair only as strong as iis weakest member? That could actually be the situation when you think about it. Because they are going to evict the housemate with the least number of votes. Damn! That's right. I Guess we all need to start voting Elizabeth now.

But i still think Hannington and Yocob will be leaving on Sunday.

The only way Yacob/Hannington will survive eviction on sunday is if Itai swaps them. If they remain on the chopping block they can only survive against Mzamo/Leonel. Anybody else, and they are history.

P-Square are one of the most durable music exports from Naija. They have got the art of making music with mass appeal down to a formula. This album sticks to that formula and delivers brilliantly. The head bopping beats and simple singalong lyrics will combine with the inevitable dazzling videos to make it all grow on us and chalk up another smash hit for the dancing twins.

My favourite track on the album is possibility with 2Baba. Tuface's vocals are simply incomparable. He always brings a certain something to a track, doesn't he?

He was talking with SA's Liziwe and he was telling her that Nigerians have high moral expectations of their housemates, as in, they do not expect them to get to the housse and begin to fall into bed with people. He was also telling her that the abolishment of Shower Hour was due to our 'sensitivity.' Maybe not the best choice of words, but you took his meaning out of context.

I really think that people who have no personal experience in this matter should refrain from throwing out opinions formed by hearsay and perception. You need to have experienced something before you can talk authoritatively about it.

I used to drive a 2001 Golf GTI. It had a 2.0 Litre engine with 30,000km on the odometer and moved like a bat out of hell. It was my first car and i fell in love with it. I could push that car from a standstill to 100km in 8 seconds and embarrassed a good number of cocky BMW drivers on Third Mainland Bridge. I loved that car until the day it just simply gave up on the bridge at night. This was a car i had implicit faith in as i serviced it regularly and tried my possible best to use genuine replacement parts. It just died and left me on the bridge. I began to search for the current model of that car, which i learnt came with 200bhp and an amazing tiptronic trasmission. Unfortunately it wasn't available for sale in Nigeria. (I wanted it brand new as the bridge incident left a very sour taste in my mouth).

So i turned to more modest options. I bought a Hyundai Elantra and i have completely forgotten what mechanics look like. I couldn't remember what i loved so much about my tokunbo golf. If you have never driven a brand new car, there are simply no words to explain it to you. The confidence it gives you (i overslept on the day of my bachelor's eve and woke up around 1am. I got up showered and drove from ikeja to VI at about 2am. I would never ever have the liver to do that in a tokunbo.) the peace of mind that scheduled pitstops give you. (You know that barring an accident, you only need to go into the workshop every 5000km. That apart, it is wake up, get in, drive. I only see my engine when the car is in the workshop for servicing.

If i had to choose between a brand new picanto and a tokunbo range rover, i'd pick the picanto everyday of the week and twice on sunday. (or i'd take the range, sell it to one of these guys here extolling the virtues of used cars and buy myself a brand new Golf GTI. If i could find it)

No tokunbo car, no matter how clean, is anywhere near as good as a brand new car when it comes to sheer reliability. Do not be deceived. I see late model tokunbos regularly with their hoods standing open in traffic and their owners looking forlornly at the 'bargain' they thought they had gotten. And the annoying thing is the cost of those cars could have bought a 1.6L car brand new. Trust me to kick a man who's already down, i'd roll down my window and say, 'next time buy new.'

By the way, i bought my mum a Kia Rio two years ago and she's forgotten what mechanics look like as well. Don't knock a brand if you ain't tried it.

It's so refreshing being able to sit back and just take in these updates. You guys are doing a truly stellar job. Hat's off to all y'all.

But we may be reading it wrong. Rene is going home on sunday. Rene comes across as a traitor having compromised the girls alliance with the smokers. Africa abhors traitors and they will definitely avoid voting for Rene. Erastus is willing to leave the house if Eddy is evicted so if Rene and Eddy get evicted the smokers will lose three members in one fell swoop. But being that those three are all from the same country makes it improbable and unlikely.

This means we could see an early exit for Paloma. The non-smokers alliance have no one to blame for the current situation. The plan was to nominate Rene and Eddy and then swap Rene with Erastus. Elizabeth, Nkenna, Geraldine and Kristal deviated from the plan by nominating Rene consistently but varying between Itai and Hannington for their second nominations. But even if they had they stuck to the plan it wouldn't have changed this outcome.

Biggie knows it would be the Untouchables against the Big 5 all over again if things were allowed to proceed normally, so he decided he needed three people on the block this week. And as the smokers stuck resolutely to their plan, that meant their two targets had exactly the same number of nominations. So after the top two nominees, the next highest number was shared by Liz and Paloma.

This is Biggie's way of balancing the alliances, otherwise the non-smokers numerical strength would mean the smokers would be picked off one by one.

We need to get behind Paloma if we want Naija to go far in this BBR. We need to maintain the Non smokers numerical advantage for as long as possible.  Elizabeth took the riskier option by saving Liz. If she had saved Paloma, Liz would have survived the eviction as no really strong opinions have been formed about her. But Paloma has been in the public eye since the day the houses merged. The housemates perceive her as bossy and overbearing and this suggests to the audience that the house would be more fun without her. She is genuinely in danger.

BTW, isn't it funny how the guys who seem to be hygienically-challenged always seem to get 'action' quickest? Ricco was said to have bad breath but the girls were practically queuing up to munch on his lips. Now Smellington of the pungent pong is getting action between the sheets already. Damn. Gets you thinking, doesn't it?  

Kevin and Nkenna have been cracking up the housemates with typical naija jokes. I guess all those comedy shows were not for nothing. This is seriously increasing their entertainment value and could come in handy when they are put up for eviction.

Haven't the smokers alliance learnt anything from BBAII? Alliances are only as strong as their numerical strength. And i count what, seven people in the smokers gang out of twenty one housemates? That's a sure recipe for suicide. They'll be put up for eviction in succession until they are all taken out.

Wish i could be more detailed but there's just so much going on that it seems Twitter would be more suited to this year's BBA. I think i'm gonna give it a shot.

Emma seems to be one of the dominant personalities in the palace. She is really pretty and could actually upstage Jennifer as the centre of attraction when they join the house next week. She practically lives in her bikini, but that should change next week. lol.
Watched the show for all of three hours last night and never caught a glimpse of any of the Nigerian girls. Are they so intimidated by the other girls? I'm afraid for them o. I thought Nkenna at least was a livewire but, i don't know anymore.
Filbert is getting in everyone's face and on my nerves too. The latest victim of his aggression is Itai. He went all up in the brother's face yesterday again, after having his face-off with Kaone a few days ago. The moment he is nominated, i'm sure he's going.
Can only get in three hours of viewing time each day so my posts may not be as detailed as i'd like. But on weekends though. i'm camped in front of the tv so i can give more detailed posts then.

Now, was that an entrance or what? A convoy of a dozen Aston Martins. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a sinfully pretty vehicle and for me made the really hot female housemates seem spectacularly nondescript by comparison. It comes with the world’s most advanced V8 engine built entirely of aluminium and silicon carbide. It develops an unhealthy amount of horsepower and would be absolutely fabulous to die in. But we digress.

Whew! The female housemates sure brought the heat tonight. The one week’s wait for the oestrogen component in the BBA house finally came to an end. But not quite in the way we had anticipated. Biggie is making us wait another week before the testosterone mixes with the oestrogen. Bugger! Had been looking forward to some fireworks tonight. But I guess one more week is only going to heighten our expectations. Plus it is bound to sharpen the reactions when the two sets of housemates eventually break through the dividing wall next week. Can hardly wait for that spectacle.

You had to feel for Teddy and Ras Wayoe who were evicted and were made to stand and watch the stream of totally hot female housemates file into the house. The cameras even caught Teddy shaking his head in obvious regret when unspeakably sexy Jennifer from Mozambique sashayed into the house. But we are getting ahead of ourselves here.

First, let’s meet the housemates.

First in was 24 year old Emma from Angola. My first impression was that she would be one of the quiet ones but imagine my surprise when no sooner had all the housemates gotten in than she whipped off her clothes and plunked into the pool. (She was wearing a bikini, before temperatures begin to rise). She seems pretty self-contained but doesn’t look like a top contender on the Drama-Quotient Index. But it is such early days yet, we could be yet surprised.

Next was Nkenna from Abuja, 23 and loving life thoroughly. She came wielding a tambourine and executing some kind of greeting ritual that involved a pass around her head and a cocky salute at the end. It was pretty endearing. I liked her immediately. Homegirl was live and I’m happy they haven’t tried to screw us over again with wack contestants this time.

Maggie from Zambia was as sexy as hell, if you like em tall and slim, that is. As tall as IK, the 23 year old model stands out just by virtue of her height. She could be a romantic match for Hannington, if she can get past the body odour, that is. She’ll definitely be one to watch.

Malawi’s Nzamo is a caterer by profession, so expect the food to improve markedly once the two houses are united. Other than that, not sure if she’s a contender for drama queen. But then neither was Ofunneka and look how far she got. Let’s watch and see.






Jennifer from Mozambique at 22 is one of the youngest female housemates. She is the Lucille for this edition of BBA and she it will be whom the boys are going to get into fights over. Alliances will be broken over her, friendships will end because of her and she will go a long way in this game. But she will not win the money. So enjoy the ride Jenny girl.

Twenty six year old Rene from Namibia thinks she’s freaking fabulous. And I wholeheartedly agree. She’s got loads of attitude and a very positive outlook on life. I suspect though, that she will throw herself at a guy if she finds him attractive. My candidate for her: Itai. Their completely opposite personalities might just be the perfect attraction for them.

Tanzania’s Elizabeth is also 22 but that’s the only thing I seem to remember about her. That’s odd. But as the days go by I guess we’ll know more about her.

26 year old Kristal from Zimbabwe reminds me of the rock star Pink. Must be the hair. Or perhaps her devil-may-care attitude. I can’t quite put my finger on it. She’s the kind of chic who will clap eyes on Jeremy and never let go. Though Jeremy will probably be more interested in Jennifer. My God, this house is gonna rock!!!

South African Liziwe was all boobs. Pardon me, but it was all right there in our faces. Decently covered up, to be sure but somehow that only seemed to make it more pronounced. She’s banking on straight up fabulosity to win the money. Not likely. But let’s wait and see.

Shocker of the night: a second Nigerian female housemate. Geraldine loves her boyfriend very much and will not be looking for relationships in the house. Famous last words? That remains to be seen. But this means that Naija has three housemates in the house. That’s more than any other country. Still pondering on what that could mean. An early eviction for a Nigerian housemate is definitely on the cards. Just hope its not Kevin.

Angola has the oldest female housemate: Edna 27 years old. She’s not looking to win, just wants to have fun in the house. And if a relationship seems like its gonna be fun, she says she’s all up for it. Seems like an interesting lady, though we will probably tire of her pretty soon depending on her drama-quotient.

Zambia’s Paloma is 25, and besides having a name that sounds like a Mexican soap opera, she has the greatest pair of hips I have ever set eyes on. The audience had to request that she twirl around so they could get a good look at her goodies. IK captured it brilliantly when he said to her ‘You have a brilliant future and a wonderful past.’ The stomach didn’t do it for me though. She loves drinking and dancing. With those proportions, that should be something to see.

That’s a quick wrap up of the female housemates. Let the bitching begin.

It was great reading the many and divergent contributions from you guys. It really inspired my decision. I mainly considered the opinions of the people with personal experiences in driving/owning a new car; remember who feels it knows it. Often times we act on hear say in things we have little experience in. As I write this, I have paid N2.3m for a new Automatic Chevrolet Optra which is yet to be delivered due to its high demand. I can only hope to get value for my money; what else can a man do but hope for da best. I appreciate every contribution even as I wish Nairalanders all da best.

That was an excellent decision, and it is one you will not regret. You could have gotten the Hyundai Elantra for the same money though, and i think that's a far better car. But i am thankful you didn't fall prey to the misguided advice to buy a used Camry. used cars are such false economy that i cannot believe people still consider them at all. Rather than buy a used car, i'd use the money to buy vicks lemon plus. that would probably be more beneficial to me.

as an aside, i've always wondered why someone would be selling a 2007/2008 model car as tokunbo. Surely, there cannot be any good reason for this, other than there is something wrong with the car. Please, those who know, enlighten me.

New cars are better than used cars no matter the makes involved. My opinion.

I know BBAIII has become exruciatingly boring, but to also meet a totally deserted thread? That just beggars belief. I guess no one watches anymore. Now that work has eased a bit i just can't seem to bring myself to watch. Even the eviction shows no longer hold any appeal for me. yesterday I preferred to watch Louis Hamilton attempt to become the youngest ever Formula One World Champion rather than watch Morris get evicted and spout his usual gobbledygook on the stage.

They should just hand Ricco the money already and let's be rid of the most boring BBA to date. i think he's the only one who can win this thing.
