That isn't the Oyo state HoA you put up there.....The Oyo HoA is actually a colonial masterpiece. it's the same that has been in use since Western region days. The picture you uploaded is the office complex of HoA commission. |
Lagost to London is circa 15,000Km though |
saaedlee:Not so.....you might have gotten it from Winners Chapel first. The security agencies put this piece together and have been propagating it via all available media. |
Billboard apparently...there's a similar one at Adekunle viewed from 3rd Mainland bridge. |
While though I am sympathetic to The Buhari Course, it could be so annoying when you find petty lies peddled in the name of projecting a candidate just for cheap popularity. I did not read further than the 1st paragraph because of a lie " Ministry of External Affairs, 40 Marina Lagos in 1984" Haba, 40 Marina was the Head Office of Union Bank as at 1984...... |
A failure he was in the power sector (opinions suggest so). However, we should not let one truth slide.....The Yaradua administration stopped some power projects. Have we all forgotten the Hon. Elumelu Committee? Some firms (Rockson Engineering etc) and Banks (Oceanic and Intercontinental) suffered for it. He was right when he stated that slowed us down. And sure Oyel money was at its ebb at the start of his administration. My opinion remains that he should shut his mouth at castigating though. |
walemoney007:^^I said most (not all) Christians recognize this as the beginning of their New year. If I were you, I would have googled that up as it is an opportunity to learn. I will still help you with Wiki though.....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent_Sunday "Advent Sunday is the first day of the liturgical year in the Western Christian churches. It also marks the start of the season of Advent.[1] In the Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican, and Methodist churches the celebrant wears violet-coloured or blue vestments on this day, and the first violet or blue Advent candle is lit at Mass. In the Church of Sweden, however, the Liturgical colour is white: the motivation is that the day is a joyful feast (the colour is changed to blue, the traditional colour for Advent in Scandinavia, or—if the church does not possess blue vestments—violet after 6 p.m.). Zechariah 9:9–10 and Matthew 21:1–9 are always read in the service, and the symbolism of the day is that Christ enters the church." Sourcehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent_Sunday |
The quality of our leadership is just appalling. I could not imagine Obanikoro justifying whatever happened, using ANC's situation as an instance. There could be so many other excuses, not this!!!! "According to the former minister, the South Africans should have a better understanding of the use of cash for arms procurement as that was the procedure they followed in purchasing arms during the long period of their struggle against apartheid" |
I am a Christian, but will not subscribe to the opinion that the declaration of this holiday represents fanaticism. Afterall, some of the religion's days are already being enjoyed as holidays by default. However, I will be quick to point out that such actions indicate that tolerating him further, is dangerous to the harmony being enjoyed already by the heterogeneous religions. The real danger however, is that he is setting a dangerous precedent. The majority of Christian's new year day is the Advent which if I am not mistaken, is sometimes in November. What happens if in the basis of this, they demand a day as well? |
^^And that is it right there...... I have been driving for 17 years, the last eight mostly in Lagos. My testimony; I do not use the horn indiscriminately, I do not struggle for road unnecessarily, I do not trying to close gap when another vehicle indicates intention to switch to my lane and I have not had a single scratch on my vehicle as a result of road struggles or skirmish. Yes, it is same Lagos and I do Island to Mainland daily. I kind of do those without stress. I have a colleague who gets bashed week in week out yet he uses his horn like he paid money to buy it. |
^^ Oga, It is very possible to drive in Nigeria ( Lagos) without using the horns. It's a habit I formed long ago....and no I don't also use my mouth to insult other road users as the alternative. For hawkers, street kids etc all you need is to drive at near dead speed. I consider it that those on the road could have been my family members. When you drive with care, you won't need the horns save for seldom occasions e.g when another vehicle backing into you and you suspect the driver is unaware of you. For dark times I basically use the headlamps..... |
I am just being curious, are there any other/ modern ways of checking for tyre punctures/ leaks apart from Nigerian Vulcanizers' (foganiza) style of inflating the tyre and pouring water all round to check for bubbles? Quick googling actually revealed that soapy water can be used, but I feel there could just be some more professional way of doing this. Enthusiasts/ Pros in the house oya......... |
@OP, Why would you think a Driving School should process your Licence for you? Ignorance of the process or just wanting to go for shortcut? I don't think you should go about speaking ill of an organisation, just because you did not understand the agreement you had with them.... |
This thread caught my attention again this evening and I realised the insults that have been hauled at my person, following my post pointing out the fact that there is a mis-fit in the title used. Let me say that, it is for the good of this generation not to throw away intelligence in trying to defend its alliances or political affiliations. I will not dignify the posters with any form of response but show them where their objectivity went dead. I was purely referring to the title of this thread viz - a - viz the news posted and found it misleading at that time. The title only became apt following your posting of JEGA's statement. And I think it is an integrity issue for the OP not to indicate that the JEGA's statement inserted is a modification of the original post. Please read the original news again and you will find out that it was all about attorneys arguing on how the DPP/AG of Imo State should take over the case. Lastly, kindly take note that I have not made it my business to bother about who is right or wrong in the matter, so do not take the liberty offered this forum to apply your energies committing wrong. |
But there's nothing in the news suggesting the title (183 Osun "Observers" To Anambra State Are Fake - INEC) of this thread. INEC nor its representatives did not in anyway insinuate they are fake....... |
^^ Ikenna, Please forgive and forget, he has been on his knees since 11am 2013-11-22. Holy Joel, Let us know immediately you stand up........ ![]() |
Op's alleged over 6 stations btw Gbagada and Airport are even tough to accept........focusing on the highway Going; Mobil (other side) Forte Total Mobil Conoil Coming Back; Conoil Of all, only the 2 Mobils and the Forte have the precedent of operating at such time of the day....so why use all to judge. Fuel's in town anyway |
RIP ++Kayode |
^^@gulfer, I think it is best you attempt to understand the way the process works in the real sense and then juxtapose it with what @Alex72 has been reporting. I am familiar with the system and so far I have not spotted any contradictions except that it was apparent that some officers were out to take advantage of him. walemoses2: Plan A truncatedHow about helping out with the script? Salivating sir!!! ![]() It is unusual of me to want to elucidate the bias in people's judgment, but hei I gat to do this. |
Congrats @Alex72!!! We are definitely glad to have been of help. However, I want to implore all not to abuse the channel we used so that it can be useful to another person in future. Like I thought of, those N50k guys only wanted to make some money for themselves, bribery is so entrenched in the system. Congrats once again and please follow due process in all things so that you won't end up with "fakes" in a bid to go through shortcut. |
^^Did you read my post? Send an sms to Engr. Toriola. We are waiting to help in any way we can.....good luck |
tjpoet: every driver license for now is fake since VIO r campaigning for the new generated driver license. They even condemn the ones bn produced by their oga at the top. That's nigeria strategy of marketing a new productIf your previous license was original and you went through due process in obtaining it, then no law official can claim it is a fake. I have been using one license number in my life(| have witnessed 4 different designs now) since I got the first one years ago and I have always renewed it going through due process in any state I find myself. i.e You go to state revenue office, pay the fees, visit FRSC for your appointment, they take your picture and you sign on their pad. The plastic comes out whenever it comes out. Problem was a lot of people wanted to be having the plastic in 1 week and end up getting fakes and even paying above the required fees. I must say that even with the new one, nothing has changed in the process except that because people are now compelled, there is now more human traffic at the centres causing delays. I last renewed in January this year and still did not pay above the required fees, in fact I paid online with my debit card. Of course the touts won't have their way with me at their Ikeja, Lagos office. My only experience with VIO officials trying to claim my license was fake because I renewed in a state other than original issuing state was an embarrassment to them. I exposed their own ignorance to them and made all those who thought they would "eat" to realize their being silly. @Post, please do not try to go through "short-cut" you my end up paying more along the way as once you "settle" one, you will have to "settle" a chain of people including the gate man. Send an sms to Engr. Toriola, the Chief of the VIS in Lagos, do not try to put blame, or be overly sentimental about the behaviour of his men. Just make a plea and ask him for some leniency. Let him know how much you have and even the value of the car He can use his discretion to waive some charges for you. The officers actually have the powers to use their discretion to even let you go without fine if you are remorseful. An sms like; Sir, I want to ask for leniency on my car impounded on xxxxx date but due to my being bed ridden bla bla bla, I am being asked to pay Nxxxxx amount but I only have Nxxxxx. My car is at your xxxx station it is a 19xx Nissan xxxx. He will respond, that I am certain of. Do not pay bribe at this point again like I mentioned. His numbers are; 0702xxxxxxx and 0803xxxxxxx (Modified) Please sms only and for other people having the number, do not abuse it by calling him at odd hours or for frivolous/trivial issues. He freely gives out his numbers in public and that is why I have posted it here. @poster, please let us know as things are going on so we can know what more to do. brosss: look my friend, u speak as though u are just getting to know the tricks of Nigeria authorities..... |
taharqa: Bros, Sorry. I don't undastad anytin bout you just wrote above. Could you plz expantiate on it; actuali, REALI expantiate on it. ThnksThe project was built by Enron for LASG at inception of 4th republic. Power policy/constitutional issues did not allow LASG to control usage of its output as it had to be fed into the national grid. Again, there were issues with EPC (Energy Purchase Contract) and of course demise of Enron (American erstwhile energy giant) coupled with litigation in the US affected its management. The facility still runs don't get me wrong. It is now called AES barge as one poster mentioned, how and why are what I don't have details of now. Gotten?? |
theshadyexpress: even you admitted that you're not sure it still exists that is of it even existed. It is still in existence, management is what I am not certain about at the moment. |
OYB, see pg 1 of this thread, I wanted your professional take on the project as well. I know you are in position to sniff into it better. |
^^ Loo right above you. |
taharqa: Cud you be kind enuf to tell us the name and location of this 217MW Plant that d LASG built and that is presently supplying power to d national grid, plz?? You may use @eko ile, @plaindealer, @agbameta, etc, to answer... Thnks you mush^^ Defunct Enron power badges at Egbin me thinks, there were legal tussles that lasted till circa 2010. Not sure of details of its operations currently. |
I will really like OYB's take on this project, given his dual view capacity. Nevertheless, I like the vision of taking some pressure off the "dis-functional" national grid and at the same time ensuring a sustainable provision for public utilities. The government is basically looking at clusters of its structures and doing some economies of scale thereby reducing cost in the long run. By the way for those condemning the project, question is what options should the government have taken; sit down and look? Give FG the money? Pretend like there is no problem? Set up committee(s) to keep looking into the problem? After all we almost all run IPPs in our homes already (I get two TEC generators for house). May be we should stop running our generators too, in order to support FG. |
The title is misleading, the bank did not lose N2.05bn to fraudsters as most of the funds were recovered. This I know. |
Now I know why people fume at some posts. What advice would you want from us other than " please throw away all the copies you have also" Bros, visit the MVAA office and listen to whatever they have to say first. On the worst case, you would be asked for a sworn affidavit and police report. |
