Bank Anthony Flyover
Kodesoh Oba Akran Flyover
Independence Tunnel Maryland
Opebi - Oregun link bridge

Asides Ikorodu Road that has the Independence Tunnel, others are not FG roads. Who constructed those projects?

Afonjacoward:
'Babangida built the Mobolaji Bank Anthony bridge crossing the general hospital at Ikeja, opposite Ikeja Plaza.

Babngida built and commission the ikeja bridge along oba akran road in 1985 not long he became military head of state

Babangida built the third mainland bridge

Same ibb built the beautiful under bridge interchange at maryland

Abacha built the opebi oregun link bridge

The eko bridge, the carter bridge, ido bridge, the bridge across funsho williams avenue leading to apapa, berger bridge, abule egba bridge, ojuelegba bridge and all the bridges around and along, isolo, cele,mile2,oshodi,ijora,ajegunle etc were built by federal govt because lagos was capital city of Nigeria for almost 100yrs.

Since 1999 that the apc have been stealing lagos money, they were able to build the u-turn bridge under ambode and agege bridge leading to ogba lsdpc housing estate.

Fashola connected cele, sanya, ijesha by bridge to connect okota leading to ikotun and elastic bridge in ikoyi.

Sanwo-olu is constructing new ikeja bridge linking oshodi isolo express way, under construction.

Tinubu did not build any bridge for the whole 8yrs lording over lagos.

All the bridges built by ambode, fashola and sanwoolu cannot stand amosun bridges just 8yrs in ogun.

Make una let us hear word abeg!

Tinubu did nothing!!!! He is a noise maker pursuing only his personal agenda with obsession and aggression'.

Business / Re: Mobil Filling Station, ₦10,000 & POS Wahala: How Can I Resolve This Issue? by leighcon(m): 1:54pm On Jun 24, 2021
OP,
The first problem here is that the transaction sent to you by FCMB and the POS receipt that you uploaded are for two different transactions. The unique transaction identifier , the STANs are different on both. The STAN on your own receipt is 201816, while the STAN on what the bank sent to you is 877262.

The question then is, how many times did you have your card tried? If this is the only treceipt that you were issued with, you should have your bank statement downloaded to check for how many times you were charged the N10,000.00. If it is once, then, there is a transaction receipt that was approved that was not given to you and this should have a STAN matching with what the bank sent to you.

Lastly, you should call the attention of your bank to the fact that the STAN on your own receipt is different from what they have sent to you, they should have done a better job explaining to you that there was an approved transaction that is different from the the one you have with you.

Let us know how it goes, the answers would come when you do the above.

Facts turned over its head.

CPC never existed for 16 years, it only existed for a few months before the 2011 elections and this was the only election CPC ever participated in as CPC.

In that election, CPC won at least two gubernatorial elections, Nassarawa and Katsina. The party won some National Assembly seats and of course, a handful of state assembly seats.

It just makes sense to put information across in the form they existed.

Dpharisee:
I can't imagine that the mediocre CPC under which Buhari never won any election in 16 years has now fully taken over APC and dismantled the formidable ACN built by Tinubu and other progressives.
Many of us including Tinubu knew that Buhari can never be trusted but they just wanted power and deceived many people in the SW with media propaganda about a man who claims fake integrity.
I recall when Tinubu described Buhari as an ethnic bigot and agent of destabilization only to do a U-turn.

I am happy that at least many Igbos and South South people never fell for this Taqqiya deception of Tinubu and Buhari, they showed it in 2015 and repeated it in 2019 despite the Nepotism thrown at them by this Govt.

Purple25,

This is one piece of encouragement you should take seriously, you faced an embarrassment, not humiliation. Do not exaerggerate the situation, these are things you receive with smile, move on and challenge yourself to do greater things.

I do not normally speak on posts not directed at me but I would ask that you please ignore all posts reinforcing the "wickedness" of your employer, they make you feel good, but do nothing to help you move forward.

GerogeI:

Dear Purple,
I do not think the problem is you loosing your Job or your so called inadequacies. I read your writing L.A.Z.Y which I could decided was about you.

So you are in a psychological state where you are trying to choose what to be. Also not finishing school has traumatised you, and finds a way to creep into what ever you do.

So face it, and sort it out. The painting Job they gave you at the school was a soft landing to allow you exit, they also gave you hints about not coming back. So do not be angry about it, they are irrelevant and in your past, let's talk of the future.

You made up your mind that you are a writer, but cause of unfinished school, you are not sure if you are. It seems you are not sure exactly what you are or can be fine artist, teacher, writer.

But one thing that is sure is that you have the artistic flair.

So let's deal with, Problem 1. Who are you?

Sit yourself down, decide what you want to do, not just what you like, but what you like that can pay your bills in future. Where will you want to define success in the line. For example, let's say you want to be a writer, what kind of writer can pay your bills ( definitely not nairaland writing). You've got to be serious and committed to it like a business. So let's say you prefer Movie Script writing. I think that can pay your bills. When are you successful. Maybe when you can produce your own movies? There or alternatives, like becoming a web content developer, blogging, or even specializing in children's books etc.

Problem 2: That nagging feeling that you are not qualified or properly trained.
What can you do to make it go away and boost your self confidence? Frankly, going back to school full time at your age is a waste of your time. School is really overated here, because they hardly teach you the functional skills you need to succeed. What you need now is a highly functional training and a certificate to pat your back and make you feel warm and fluffy with yourself. So why not do a part time training in your chosen area of specialization. You will horn your skills and be working for your self at same time. A lot of private schools offer part-time programs, no body writes part time on your certificate. It is same as others. You can also decide to go to the open University.

At the end the particular school does not matter, it is your skills that do. Most of us, apart from doctors, learnt our job specific skills on the job not in school. Nigerian schools only train your thought pattern, so stop beating your self too much about not finishing it, you did not miss a lot. Infact the inadequacy is likely in your mind, and unintentionally you project it to people. So do something to satisfy your inner mind and have a direction.

I forgot to add, it won't hurt you to have a mentor. Not just any Aunt or Uncle, but someone you know who has succeeded in the path you have choose to walk. Not your parents oh. They are either too emotional or to zealous.

Finally, relax, laugh over that embarrassment or even cry over it, but dust your feet and live life. It is a wonderful place, this Earth. It's awesome if you know where to look, especially an artist like you.

This thought is not fantastic in the long run, never burn bridges irrespective of circumstances. The future has a lot yet unraveled, don't put yourself in a situation where you'd reget not maintaining proper relationship with your employer.

toluwalopsy:

Let me correct this notion of yours. Trying to show humility by bringing down yourself to people who appreciate you less is just a waste of time. I do it before but not anymore. Once I leave a place I leave even if you call me to come around I'll just ignore you. Employers and their loyal dogs aren't nice at all no matter how selfless you work. They only care about what benefit you be to them. An employer once told me hope I don't have any plan of marrying anytime soon. Another one told me pointblank that here, forget about your career, I'm here to make money, you work for me, I pay you. No room for self development, I keep saying that expatriates who treat our fellow citizens anyhow aren't to be blamed. If you see how a nigerian treats his fellow citizen you'll be shocked. Let me just rest here. Wish you luck and success in your future endeavours.

Purples25, I have about 14 years od corporate experience and I can tell you for free that your issue is ego, something you need to work on. It is the sole reason you were not able to succeed as a receptionist - it is the most basic of all jobs.

There was no humiliation in the event you narrated, rather, they are the ones that will be too ashamed to ask for your services in future.

Keep working on yourself, every human being is a work in progress. If you must succeed, you have to learn how to overlook embarrassments that come along. Take a cue from bus conductors, they get insulted by even those who cannot afford to pay, yet, they carry on. A number of them become owners of fleet of vehicles later in life.

TheSkyIsBlue:
My Sister Is About To Commit A Serious Taboo All In The Name Of Marriage

Hello Nairalanders!

Please ignore any typographical or grammatical error. I just want to pour it out the way it is in my heart.

I am seriously confused and worried about what is happening in my family and I will appreciate your candid advice.

There is this guy my sister has been in a relationship with for over seven years now. so he actually asked her hand in marriage and decided to come see my parents for introduction, about some months ago. My family decided to take their time to find out more about the guys family background as is required in Igbo tradition.

After several questions asked, my family came to find out that the guy is an Osu (an outcast). On knowing this, everybody in my family told my sister to cut ties with him and discontinue the relationship because it is a big taboo to get married to an Osu in my place . If you do, no family member or friend will attend your wedding or even have anything to do with you again.

But my sister refused to listen to anybody claiming she really loves the guy, that they have been together for a very long time and that she is not getting younger anymore (mind you, she is in her early thirties). Everybody (my parents and extended family members) tried to talk her out of it but she still didn't listen.

After much pressure and her continues insistence, my dad decided to give them his blessings, although against his wish (my dad is actually not really deep into tradition). Now the guy has done all the traditional rights and paid for her dowry. Their wedding is coming up soon.

But the problem now is, according to tradition and from what I heard, if she was allowed to go with the guy without my dad giving them his blessings, the stigma would have just been on her and she alone would have been considered Osu, since she insisted to continue with the marriage. But now that my dad has given them his blessings, it is considered that all of us (her siblings) will also have that link of Osu too. Except if she decide to put an end to the relationship and discontinue with the wedding, which I don't think my sister is ready to do.

I am really worried and depressed about it, cause I don't want anything that will affect me tomorrow when I want to get married just because of my sister's mistakes.

I will really like to get opinions and sincere advice especially from those that are familiar with tradition, cause I'm seriously bothered. Thanks!

Good morning Nairalanders.

Few months ago I sought for help from this forum in my post titled "I'm About To Lose My Dad's Contributory Pension Bankers/Lawers Help", of which I received good comments.

One of those comments was for me to approach the court for a "Letter Of Administration" if I'm the next of kin or the beneficiary to my dad's properties.

After a long process at the court, I was finally issued with the said letter. I then took the letter to the bank where my dad was operating after being advised to open an Estate Account.

I then applied for Estate Account, but up till today they (bank) have refused to open that account giving flimsy excuse always. I'm beginning to suspect foul play from the bank.

Can I open such account in another bank while presenting the bank my dad was operating with account number for the money to be transfered in or sue the bank while they pay for damages?

Attention seeking is not courage. You don't display bravery on Twitter, you come out to lead. FFK, surely, can't do that.

Nobody has used several courts to try him, he's simply answering to a corruption case, which rather than prove he isn't guilty, his lawyers have been employing delay tactics . E.g on a number of occasions, he's been absent in court under the pretext of being ill, knowing fully well that the courts won't continue trial in his absence.

sankky:
I love this man's courage and consistency.
Love him or hate him, he has carved a niche for himself in Nigeria's political terrain.
The fact that they have used different courts and judges to try to cage and silence him without success speaks volumes about FFK.
I don't know what has happened to Fayose's voice nowadays.
