Leader of a faction of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oshodi, Taoreed Adedigba also called Taloskibo has been arrested.

Talo was arrested on Sunday by operatives from the Lagos Police Command.

NewsDay gathered that Talo was arrested midday on Sunday in Oshodi and was detained at the Police Command headquaters in Ikeja. He was flown to Abuja around 8pm.

He was arrested after one of his boys called Ayuba implicated him in the series of killings and fighting in Oshodi in the last few months.

Ayuba was arrested on Tuesday last week by operatives from the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Lagos Police Command.

Ayuba is the prime suspect in the lastest cult clash in Oshodi. The cult clash, which occurred penultimate week left many people injured with gun wounds.

After interrogation, he confessed to partaking in the fight and also mentioned some of Talo boys as accomplice

The police later stormed Talo’s office in Moyosore Complex to arrest the suspects.

In the course of the arrest and search, three riffles were found in Talo’s office.

He was said to have told the police that the guns were for his members’ protection against attacks from rival groups.

He also told men of the Anti Cultism unit that he was ready to offer himself for arrest instead of his boys being arrested.

He was arrested on Wednesday and detained at the Anti-Cultism Unit in Gbagada.

He was later released on Thursday after bribing the police with N1.5m

Newsday gathered that his friends including Kunle Poly raised the money and stormed the Anti-Cultism Unit on Thursday to secure his release.

He, was, however, rearrested on Sunday after Ayuba made another damning allegation against him.

Ayuba was said to have implicated him in the murder of an aide of a popular member of the NURTW in Oshodi.

The 15 governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have met in Abuja to discuss the party’s position on the forthcoming June 11 election of the principal officers of the Ninth National Assembly.

The meeting, which started in the wee hours of Friday morning was hosted by Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, who doubles as the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, at the state Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

The PDP governors’ intervention might not be unconnected with the divided positions of the PDP National Assembly members-elect.

Apart from the governors, the meeting was also attended by the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus

The governors and the party leaders are said to be worried that the divided positions of the PDP National Assembly members-elect might not ensure a block vote for the party’s choice of presiding officers.

The governors are expected to present their positions to the party’s National Assembly members-elect , ahead of their own meeting today.

The PDP National Assembly caucus is expected to meet Friday night to harmonise their positions for the voting on Tuesday.

NewsDay also gathered that the PDP governors at the meeting also harmonise their positions ahead of the their meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari today.

President Buhari is expected to meet with the 36 governors of the federation to consider steps to tackle the worsening insecurity in the country.

Today’s meeting, with the president presiding, will also discuss debts inherited by the governors, which they claimed would make governance difficult in their respective states.

Friday’s meeting with the President followed a resolution of the governors during their first meeting after the election of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, as the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF).

The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on Thursday said he was proud that the state legislature had become a resource institution to its counterparts across the country.

He spoke at the final plenary and valedictory session of the 8th Assembly, where he thanked the lawmakers and all staff members for their support which made the feat possible.

He said he was happy to have been speaker of the best parliament in the country, with competent and well trained legislators.

Obasa said he was satisfied with the modest achievements of the assembly and urged the incoming 9th Assembly to give support to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi of Deeper Life Bible Church as he turns 78 years old.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Thursday sworn in the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Sherifat Folashade Jaji;; his Chief of Staff; Mr Tayo Ayinde and Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Gboyega Soyannwo .

Jaji was a former Head of Service in the state .

She joined the Lagos State Civil Service on October 27, 1980 at the State Judicial Service Commission before she was deployed to the Governor’s Office, Department of Political Affairs where she served for two years between 1980 and 1982.

She is the 18th Secretary to the State Government.

Ayinde served as the Director-General of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Group between 2018 and 2019.

His deputy, Soyannwo, is a seasoned banker, who worked in various management capacities between 2005 and 2009, heading various strategic units.

Until his appointment, Soyannwo was Managing Consultant at Cranbrook Financial Consulting Services.

President Muhammadu Buhari has met with former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The meeting took place on Sunday.

Buhari is in Makkah to attend the Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

Abubakar , who is the Chairman National Peace Accord Committee is in Saudi for the lesser Hajj.

Abubakar,alongside former Nigerian Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan were all conspicuously absent at the Eagle Square, Abuja, on Thursday where President Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo took oath of office for their second term in office.

Buhari had on Friday addressed the OIC forum and underscore the need for member countries to unite and work together to combat common challenges such as terrorism and violent extremism.

Buhari had also held bilateral meetings with some world leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest.

Irked by the flagrant abuse of the Lagos State Traffic Laws, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday evening came down hard on a Danfo driver who drove against traffic on Eko Bridge.

The governor , who was returning to Government House after attending a function on the Island, was shocked with the way the driver was driving despite following ‘one way’

The Governor, on sighting the vehicle, ordered his convoy to stop.

He alighted from his car and immediately ordered that the vehicle be impounded.

He also directed that the driver be prosecuted in line with the provisions of the Traffic Laws.

The governor, who had earlier in the day signed an Executive Order that extended LASTMA’s work hours to 11pm, said his government will empower LASTMA to do more.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has appealed to Christian leaders to pray for the success of the in-coming government in the state.

Ambode made the appeal on Monday in Lagos while declaring open the 34th Synod of the Lagos Diocese of Anglican Communion.

Ambode urged Christian leaders to intercede fervently for the governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his team to move the state forward positively.

According to Ambode, Lagos is on an upward trajectory that needs everyone pulling in the same direction.

“As our administration makes way for another, I ask for your continued support and prayers for the in-coming government, the Governor-elect and his team.

The theme of this year’s synod is; “The Unfailing Faith of our Fathers: ever Sufficient”

The governor, who expressed delight at the theme of the Synod, noted that cooperation, unity and peaceful co-existence are needed to continue on the growth curve that his administration started.

He thanked the Church for its support, goodwill and prayers for his government and family in these past four years.

"To our Fathers in the Lord and clergymen, I thank you for all you have done to move Lagos forward in the past four years of my administration. I am proud of the relationship and support that has yielded the peaceful coexistence and atmosphere of love and brotherhood. For me, this is the strongest plank upon which the progress we have achieved rests."

He added that there was no single religious conflict in the state in the last four years.

This year’s synod coincided with the centennial anniversary of the establishment of the Lagos Diocese.

The U-Turn Flyover at the Murtala Mohammed Airport Road, Lagos has been closed to traffic.

The closure of the bridge comes less than a week after it was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

The Murtala Mohammed Airport Road was part of the projects the President inaugurated during his one-day visit to the state.

Other projects inaugurated by the President included the multi-level Oshodi Transport Interchange; the 170-bed Ayinke House (Maternity Hospital)) at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH ) Ikeja; and the Lagos State Theatre at Oregun.

Gov Akinwunmi Ambode had during the commissioning of the Murtala Mohammed Airport Road said the U-Turn Flyover would be open for public use immediately, while the two flyovers would be open for use from May 10 after the quality assurance work is completed.

However, motorists were only allowed to make use of the U-Turn Flyover for just two days before the contractor handling the project, HiTech, closed the bridge

The closure was to enable the company complete work on the flyover, which was not fully ready before it was commissioned by the President on Wednesday.

When our correspondent visited the place on Monday, workers were seen working on the bridge.

Aside the flyover, construction works were still ongoing at different sections of the road.

Senate President Bukola Saraki on Sunday night attended a dinner organized for newly-elected and returning governors .

The event, which was held at Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. was organised by the secretariat of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).

The dinner is part of the induction programme organised for the newly elected governors.

Governorship elections were held in 29 states.

There were no governorship elections in Edo, Ondo, Ekiti, Bayelsa, Kogi, Anambra and Osun because the tenures of their governors are yet to expire.

Sunday’s event was also used as a send forth for the outgoing governors.

Aside Saraki, who was a former governor of Kwara State, serving and former governors also attended the dinner.

Former governors that attended included Lucky Igbinedion of Edo State, Ibrahim Shema of Katsina and Adamu Muazu of Bauch State.

Sunday’s dinner is a prelude to the induction programme which starts on Monday.


The programme will formerly start with an opening remark by the Chairman of the NGF, Abdulaziz Yari, at 10:00 a.m.

The objectives of the event include exposing governors to relevant contemporary national priorities in critical sectors of the economy and driving consensus on opportunities to achieve desired outcomes.

A fresh crisis is brewing in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the zoning of key positions in the 9th National Assembly.

Members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) are divided over the choice of Senator Ahmed Lawan as the Senate President and Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Although the party has already endorsed the candidature of Lawan and Gbajabiamila, the decision did not go down well with some leaders and federal lawmakers elected on the platform of the party.

The aggrieved party leaders complained of not being consulted and carried along before the decision was taken.

The choice of Gbajabiamila is said to have angered many party leaders, who felt the choice of Gbajabiala has short changed other geo-political zones.

Gbajabiamila, who is representing Surulere in Lagos state, is said to be the anointed candidate of the national leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu.

One of the party leaders told NewsDay that majority of the members of the APC are of the view that all geopolitical zones must be fairly represented both in the executive and legislative arms.

He said with President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo coming from the North-West and South-West respectively, the two zones should be excluded from the zoning of the Senate President and House Speaker as well as their deputies.

The party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena is also not happy with the choice of Gbajabiamila.

Nabena said the party must take deliberate steps to provide a fair and justifiable zoning arrangement for the incoming 9th National Assembly leadership.

“Our actions and inactions will have serious implications on party unity and positively or negatively affect our standing ahead of 2023.”

The Bayelsa born APC Chieftain cautioned the party to tread with caution on the zoning of National Assembly position as any wrong move may sound the death knell for the party ahead of 2013 election.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has arrived the State House of Assembly to present the 2019 budget for the state



The budget presentation comes barely two days after the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC)Bola Tinubu brokered peace between the governor and the Lagos State lawmakers.



The lawmakers had initially threatened to impeach the governor over alleged gross misconduct, including alleged spending before budget approval.



Recall that after a meeting of the Governor’s Advisory Committee (GAC), in Lagos on Sunday, Tinubu had said: “We examined the grievances on both sides. As leaders, we also looked into areas where there has to be compromise.

“In order to build institutions and encourage consensus-building, we have to do what is right.


“There is no impeachment. Let there be more communication and consensus-building and understanding. All these are inbuilt in the democratic system.”

Tuesday's budget presentation prevented the Governor Ambode from joining the APC's presidential rallies in Ekiti and Ondo States.

"75 parties cannot be invited to a debate. INEC should take note of this problem. It is one of the things that happen when you begin to register brief case political parties".

That's according to the presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu.

He made this known on Sunday while appearing on #Bounce60Minutes.

Moghalu said this while responding to the call made by the presidential candidate of the AAC, Omoyele Sowore demanding that he turns down the invitation to be included on the Presidential debate organized by BON on January 19, 2019.

"The decision (to exclude Sowore) was taken by those who organized the debate. They have explained their criteria. They have made a public statement.

"Having expressed sympathy for him and some others in a similar position, I don't think the burden should now be place on me to address the issue.

"The burden is on those who made the decision. I don't think it is fair to place me on the stand for having being invited to a debate because I worked hard and established my party's prominence.

"Let me be very frank with you. Today in Nigeria on the ground the YPP is the third force after the APC and PDP", he said.

Prof. Moghalu also described himself as the leading candidate among the first time politicians heading to the polls on February 16, 2019.

"Several polls have shown that apart from the non-traditional politicians - we call ourselves the alternatives and I am the leading alternative candidate", he added.

Gradually, the issue of National Minimum Wage is dragging into a new year and the general elections will be less than two months away.

It has reached a level where putting pen to paper, with reference to the figure a civil servant will expect as alert at the end of every month, is the next thing to do.

But that is not happening and the labour unions are getting tire of waiting.

They had requested for 30,000 Naira as the minimum wage, but were able to secure an agreement of "anything between 24,000 Naira to 30,000 Naira", with the government delegation at the discussion that resulted in the putting off of a planned strike.

It was one of the issues that the presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Professor Kingsley Moghalu, touched on #Bounce60Minutes, a Bounce News' live programme on social networks.

He said: "The minimum wage; I have said it, should not be anything less than 30,000 Naira minimum that labour is asking for, but it should not be more than 40,000 Naira.

The YPP presidential candidate further said governors who claimed they could not pay 30,000 Naira as minimum wage were not sincere.

"What you do is to find a balance. I believe between 30,000 Naira to 40,000 Naira.

"If you go above that you risk creating massive inflation impressions.

"But the government that is arguing that it cannot pay 30,000 Naira. For me that's a joke.

"The reason it is a joke is; if you know how much politicians have available to themselves in security votes, if you know how much money is wasted in governance, if you know how much money is paid monthly by state governors to godfathers, and they claim they cannot pay a minimum wage of 30,000 Naira, their 'yeye dey smell'" he highlighted.


On what should be considered before the actual amount is agreed, Professor Moghalu said two things were involved.

"There are two principles that must be factored into looking at the minimum wage."
1. Ability To Pay

"If you have a minimum wage, is the government able to sustain that minimum wage? can it be paid going forward.
2. Inflationary Impact

"You want to be sure that if you are putting up inflationary impact. If there is too much money in the hands of a lot of people chasing after too few goods," Professor Moghalu said.

The turn of the eventsin the last couple of weeks has greatly polarized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun pitches his tent on one side and backers of the party’s governorship candidate Dapo Abiodun on the other.

Abiodun may have been declared holder of the APC’s governorship ticket, but the journey to the state house just began.

Abiodun, who is the Chairman of Heyden Oil and Gas, is said to have enlisted the help of major APC chieftains that are at odds with Amosun in the battle to win the APC gubernatorial ticket.

Amosun’s attempt to forcefully retrieve the ticket and give it to his preferred choice, Adekunle Akinlade set off a chain of reactions that hugely decimated the power and influence of the governor.

One of the major consequences for Amosun is the taking away of party tickets to elective positions for the 2019 general elections from his loyalists.

The governor had initially single-handedly picked all candidates for elective positions in the state but his decision was, however, upturned by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

The development resulted in a fierce political battle that pitched the governor against forces in Abuja.

The latest round of loss suffered by Amosun in his fight against Abiodun saw the governor’s loyalists yanked off the recently released list of the party’s State House of Assembly candidates list.

But insiders disclosed to Bounce News that the Governor is keen to protect his political legacy and structure while retaining his political authority. Unlike his counterpart in Lagos, Amosun has refused to let go of the matter.

On Monday, he said his preferred candidate Akinlade will definitely become the governor of the state.

“Akinlade has my full support, I am not going to stop him, everything I have, I will use to support him, let them try whatever they want to try, we also have our strategies and I am not going to hide behind one finger.

“I remain in APC because that’s what those people want, they want us to leave APC but they are joking.

“Every day, I will campaign for President Muhammdu Buhari, we will do everything possible to ensure Buhari wins massively in Ogun State, but they should not miss it.

"I, Senator Ibikunle Amosun will not support anyone they are bringing as the governorship candidate."

It was also learnt that emissaries sent by Abiodun to Amosun had been shut out, making the resolution of the crisis difficult.

The situation, Bounce News learnt, has left many politicians in the state in the lurch, with many seemingly confused.

Many of Amosun’s associates are not very comfortable with the development, fearing that the governor could be taking a very big risk if he decides to dump Abiodun.

“The situation is not very bright for any side because as at this time, Amosun is already grappling with forces in Abuja and to compound it with additional enemies from home is not something we are very pleased to talk about,” an associate of the governor told Bounce News.

Indications that the governor’s camp is fast losing grounds emerged on Monday when party chieftains who were hitherto in Amosun’s group physically attended the formal unveiling of the APC deputy governorship candidate, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, at the residence of the former governor of the state, Olusegun Osoba in Abeokuta.

They include: Amosun's former Chief of Staff, Tolu Odebiyi; the Senator representing Ogun West, Gbolahan Dada; the candidate for Egbado South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, Biyi Otegbeye; immediate past Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bimbo Ashiru, and Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, among others.


It was also learnt that members of the State Executive Council have been jittery over the development, not knowing where the pendulum will swing in the 2019 governorship election.

A highly placed source within the party told Bounce News that some notable aides have recently resigned their appointments in government to join the APC campaign train.

Afolabi Afuape resigned his appointment on Friday as Commissioner for Youth and Sports, to team up with Abiodun and pick up the APC ticket for House of Assembly election.

Besides Afuape, eight other aides of the governor have also resigned their appointments to join the Abiodun camp.

Sources close to the Heyden Oil boss, insist Abiodun is prepared for all eventualities and more than willing to match the governor wit for wit.

It was gathered that when Amosun voiced his opposition against Abiodun’s gubernatorial ambition, the Heyden boss told his supporters “I will show him I am not Yayi”.

Yayi is Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the Lagos Senator forced to dump his Ogun state Gubernatorial ambition in the face of ferocious opposition from Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Amosun declared at the height of his opposition to Yayi’s gubernatorial ambition “I know who will not become the next governor of Ogun state!” and it came to pass as Yayi beat a retreat to his primary constituency in bid to remain relevant as Senator representing Lagos West when the heat became too much for him in Ogun state.

Abiodun had on Wednesday, a day after 26 lawmakers dumped to the party to join APM, summoned a closed-door meeting of some of his top associates at his residence in Iperu, in order to weigh the options.

The outcome of the meeting could not be deciphered as at press time.

The situation looks like"the mess is about to hit the fan on all sides” a source pointed out to Bounce News.

According to him: “the truth is that the party needs Amosun to win an election, especially the gubernatorial election in Ogun state. Abiodun and his band of followers can’t deliver the state for APC, they don’t have the clout and structure to do that".

Presidential campaign ahead of the 2019 elections has officially kicked off, and as expected, the verbal fireworks from the candidates have begun.

On Wednesday, the Presidential candidate of the Africa Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore was a guest of Bounce News’ #60Minutes, where he entertained questions from viewers on his campaign agenda.

One of the issues he spoke about is the proposed sale of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC by former vice president Atiku Abubakar who is the candidate of the PDP.

Sowore was asked what he planned to do with the corporation if elected since the current administration’s efforts at un-bundling it have yielded little results.

On the proposed sale of NNPC by Atiku, he said: “The man who wants to sell NNPC spent 8 years of his life as the vice president of Nigeria selling off whatever they could sell, but where did that take us?

“The NNPC that Atiku is planning to sell, he is not going to use the money from that sale on Nigerian people. In the first place, who is Atiku going to sell NNPC to? He is going to sell it to Atiku.

“Atiku bought a bunch of companies. He is one of a few Nigerians that cannot explain how he made his wealth and if he is already telling you that he wants to sell NNPC, you can understand that he is going to put Nigeria on Alibaba for sale.

“And that is why he is leading a charge; they are charging towards Nigeria right now, a bunch of criminals are waiting in the wings so that as soon as Atiku wins, they can’t wait to sell whatever they can find in this country to themselves and take over the country and all of you who are ‘Atikulating’ will find yourselves completely ‘Atikulooted’ by the time they are done. That is what they are used to doing.”

But what does he plan to do with the corporation if he is elected?

He said: “What we need to understand is that this entity belongs to the Nigerian people. Run the place transparently with very competent and honest Nigerians and make the wealth from there available to the Nigerian people.

“You know what I would prefer to do instead of giving oil blocks to politicians, I will give it to universities, so that whatever profit they make, they can invest in education.

“They can invest it as part of the university’s wealth to create more opportunity for young people to go to school. I am just giving that as an example, it is not part of our manifesto yet, but these are progressive and creative ways of investing in the future.”

There was mild drama in Oshodi area of Lagos on Tuesday during the Lagos APC Governorship primaries keenly contested by Babajide Sanwo-Olu and incumbent governor, Akinwumi Ambode.

Their supporters and agents clashed at Ward D3 Mafoluku along Agbelekale Street.

Sanwo-Olu's team was led by the leader of the NURTW in Oshodi, MC Oluomo (Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya) while team Ambode was led by his Special Assistant on Civil Engagement, Taiwo Ayedun.
Ayedun insisted on having the polling process free and fair while calling for proper accreditation to take place before voting and counting.


After a heated argument between Oluomo and Ayedun, all those present were allowed to join the queue.

Oluomo also told Ayedun and other party members present that nobody is bigger than Tinubu in the state.

In the heat of the argument, the Chairman of the local government, Bolaji Ariyoh came in.

Ayedun confronted Ariyoh and told him point blank that this was not the agreement among party leaders concerning the election.

When the #NotTooYoungToRun Act became consititutional in Nigeria ahead of the 2019 general elections, young Nigerians on social media jumped on it, commending the Senate and President Muhammadu Buhari.

In Lagos, Saraki allegedly gave the delegates that will vote in the presidential primaries of the PDP 5 million Naira to secure their support.

Aside the delegates, the Senate President also donated 3 million Naira for the payment of party's secretariat rent, 2 million Naira to the party, 1 million Naira to the party leaders, 500,000 Naira for the Women and 500,000 Naira for the youths.

In Lagos alone, 12 Million Naira was shared without receipts issued in less than an hour.

Days ago, the Senate President received a nomination form for the Presidential election which, according to the price list of the PDP, costs 12 million Naira.

If he spends this much in Lagos State alone, consider how much he must have spent in other states that he has visited.

Dr. Saraki has also bought the PDP’s nomination form for the Senatorial race just for a cushion, should he lose the bid to be President.

That form also costs 3.5 million Naira.

The 2019 campaign hasn’t even started official but one presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar is already causing confusion with his money.

On Monday, the deep-pockets caused pandemonium when he visited the Lagos secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The chaos was over the sharing of money given by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar during his visit to the secretariat.

Many people including journalists scampered for safety as the thugs engaged themselves in a free for all fight.

Bottles flied freely as the thugs struggled to get their share of the money.


Bounce News correspondent who was at the scene of the event, reported that trouble started when Atiku wanted to leave the venue of the meeting.

Some touts were said to have blocked the gate of the secretariat demanding that Atiku ‘settle’ them before leaving.

Atiku had earlier failed to address the PDP members because of a sudden downpour.

It took the intervention of armed policemen attached to Atiku, who fired teargas into the air and forced the gate open.

Despite being teargassed, the thugs followed Atiku into the main road on Adekunle Fajuyi.

When an aide to Atiku finally dropped huge bundles of naira notes, hell was let loose.

The scramble for the money resulted in injuries as security officials fired more tear gas into the air.

Some thugs were chased round the party secretariat by other thugs as they tried to escape with some bundles of naira notes.

The publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore has taunted President Muhammadu Buhari as somebody who does not understand English.

Sowore took the jibe at the President during the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the annulled June 12, 1993 election.

The event took place on Tuesday at the Ikeja home of the Late MKO Abiola.

Timilehin Adeoye is a 12-year-old boy in Junior Secondary School 1.

He is currently lying critically ill at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan desperately hoping for divine help to enable him to undergo a surgery to save his life.

It all started with what seemed like a mere injury to the right arm and for a lively boy like Timilehin, the assumption was that he had overplayed and injured himself.

The hospital commenced treatment and Timi even had physiotherapy sessions, but his health deteriorated with his right arm and leg going numb, more like paralyzed.

An MRI scan was immediately recommended, and a mother’s worst fears were confirmed.

Timilehin has brain tumor. A major surgery was required, and the young boy has since been bedridden as things got worse.

Oyindamola Olabosinde is Timilehin’s mother and she is a single mom. She has had to bear the emotional and financial burden of Timi’s condition.

Help has come from few of her family members and good friends, but this can only go as far as current hospital bills.

Bounce News heard the mother’s cry and we went to Ibadan to visit Timilehin and his mother at UCH.

She told us how her thriving fashion business has since been shut down since she could no longer pay her staff. She has become a shadow of her beautiful self.

Looking good is the last thing on her mind, she just wants her son, her pride to live.

A minimum of five million naira is needed for the two stages of surgery in Nigeria and India but they have only managed to raise a fraction of the money.

Since infancy, Timi has been his mother’s best friend, and with her he has shared his dreams to be a great man and reward her for her love.

Asides being focused on his studies, he has also shown great promise with artistic skills, he loves to sing, and has been identified to be a promising drummer.

But all his dreams to be a successful man seem to be crashing down as his mother watches helplessly.

“Timilehin deserves to live. If the good people of Nigeria can just come up and help us with anything they have, anything can go a long way. No matter how little,” she said.

A 2019 presidential hopeful, Adamu Garba has promised to unify Nigeria beyond ethnicity and put the country on the path to progress if given the chance to lead the country.

On his plan to tackle corruption headlong, the presidential hopeful said corruption is easy to fight – provided there is the political will to fight it.

He said rather than fight the menace, he would put policies in place to prevent it. He stated that his team has been moving from city to city to convince Nigerians that he can do a better job than the incumbent, President Buhari, if given the opportunity.

He stated that his government will be reflective of the gender, ethnic and religious diversity of Nigeria.

"I would prefer a female vice president. If you look at Nigeria’s demography, for everyone man there is 1.022 women so you can have balanced decision making because women contribute a lot to the economy.''

He dismissed the insinuation in some quarters that he is playing a political script and will soon drop his ambition. He described the allegation as baseless.

The National Legal Adviser of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Muiz Banire, SAN has dismissed the report circulating on the social media that he was physically present at the Lagos State congress of the party held today.

He described the report as wicked and mischievous.

In a statement he personally signed Saturday evening, Banire said he was nowhere close to Ikeja, the venue of the congress but was at an Islamic programme as a guest speaker in Ilasamaja area of Mushin in Lagos.

The statement read, “My attention has been drawn to reports circulating on the social media suggesting that I was physically present at the State Congress of the All Progressive Congress said to have held at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State today.

“I wish to state unequivocally that I was nowhere near the venue of this Congress or at the venue of any political gathering for that matter.

“As a matter of fact, I was in faraway Ilasamaja in Mushin Local Government Area where I was a guest at the lecture of the Ansarudeen Islamic Society which held from 9am till about 3.30pm. I couldn’t have replicated myself between Ilasamaja and Ikeja.

“I consider these reports as not only wicked and mischievous but irresponsible, and smacking of brazen sophistry”.

Banire insisted that as a national officer of the ruling party, he would not be a party to moves capable of factionalizing the party. The senior advocate however raised the alarm over attempts to drag him into the politically intrigues currently at play in the state.

“ As a national officer of the All Progressives Congress I am very well aware of the constitutional burden of nonpartisanship in a matter of factional assemblies of the nature ongoing in Lagos State even as I am committed to discharging the ethos of my office as an objective arbitrator in all matters of this nature.

“Of course, I am aware of the desperate subterranean moves by some individuals to drag me into all these but I insist on standing above and beyond the fray, God’s willing.

“On account of this, may I advise all friends, associates and well-wishers to disregard the report and be assured of my objective neutrality in this regards at all times”, Banire assured.

Fela Durotoye, a 2019 presidential aspirant and the CEO of Gemstone Group says if elected, he will have the largest cabal in the history of the country.

The cabal he said would not be made up of few individuals but the entire 180 million Nigerians.

He said this while addressing the audience at The Platform on Tuesday.

The Platform is an annual politics and governance forum organised by Covenant Christian Centre, Lagos.

He stated that he is contesting for the country’s top post as past leaders have failed to run the nation with vision.

He said the person needed by Nigeria as its President must be a nation builder.

Durotoye blamed the problems of Nigeria on poor leadership and followership as well as erosion of the country's values.

He stated that as the country was losing its values, it started losing businesses which also affected the country’s currency.

“Very soon, the old generations would be no more and the problems might still be here. So this generation of Nigerians should strive to be a great generation.

“While you may not be able to change your past, your future has no right to catch you by surprise.

“A great generation is a generation that solves problems not the one that transfers burden to the next generation. A great generation is a generation that acts and the one that passes problem solving techniques to the next one,” he said.

Durotoye said the change that everyone desired was possible if everyone got involved in achieving it.

“You were born in Nigeria to fix Nigeria. People are planted in a nation to build, guide and to produce a better version of the nation they were born in when their children are born”

He therefore urged Nigerians to participate in the electoral process by voting and engaging people in government.

He stated that he is currently spearheading a movement asking Nigerian ladies not to accept advances from men unless they have their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC).

According to him, married people should also not make love with their spouses if they do not have their PVCs.

He said PVC to him is not only a card but a 'Power to Vote your Choice".

"On the 29th of May, I will have the privilege of addressing the world and shaping a new vision for Nigeria. And not only will I shape that future for Nigeria, I'm going to also present to you a road map by which Nigeria can get to that vision," he said.
