Elvis506:It will be a very sad and very painful reality for soldiers and policemen, as individuals and their respective families, if the IMN Shia movement resort to taking up arms to avenge their killed followers. The security agencies should have mercy on themselves, or on their own men. You are already overstretched by the Boko Haram insurgency. You dont need an eventuality whereby the IMN would start ambushing security vehicles, use IEDs or attack checkpoints with the intent to kill soldiers and policemen to avenge the killings of Nigerian Shia civilians by the Nigerian army and police. Even if you hate the Shia as a whole or the IMN as a Shia group, based on blind religious sentiments, Wahhabi Takfirism or silly and retarded prejudices, at least have mercy on your troops to understand that such unjustified and unnecessary brutality, oppression and humiliation meted out on innocent and helpless women, children and men in religious processions cannot continue forever without response. The right of Nigerian Shias to hold their religious processions 2 or 3 times annually and to worship freely should not be impeded with the use of brutal force. Shias will not cease to exist by using force or proscribing one of their organisations in Nigeria (namely the IMN). Homosexuals have/will not cease(d) to exist in Nigeria because there is an anti gay law. Proscribing one Shi'ite organisation or group will not stop more Nigerian Shias from being born or for more Nigerians from othr faiths to convert to Shia Islam. And please no idiot should tell me they block roads. Shi'ite Muslims hold their processions all around the world peacefully; only in Buhari led Nigeria do civilians get killed for being in a religious procession. Even in the heart of London and Washington, Shias hold processions and you can check YouTube for the videos. So who are you to prevent them and act like a retarded fanatic and to kill civilians in a religious procession? In Nigeria itself, Sunnis block roads for every Friday prayer, weekly and also for Eid prayers across the country. Christians block roads too. Even pagans or traditional religion adherents block roads and impose curfew in neighborhoods when doing their ceremonies. So lets not deceive anyone that only Shia Nigerians deserve to be killed for blocking roads. And often times, the Shia processions are orderly and they only use the side of the road. Soldiers and police have no right to kill any Nigerian or human being, if those persons have not taken up arms or staged an insurgency against the government. Nigerian Shi'ites are citizens too. They deserve to be protected by law and their right to freedom of worship wholly protected and respected. Even if you are not Shi'ite, you cannot feel safe in a country where soldiers and police openly shoot and stab Nigerian civilians in the streets, in broad daylight, as if they are animals, simply because those Nigerians chose to be different. This is a very nasty disrepute and disgrace for the country as a whole. So Nigerian security agencies should hav mercy on themselves and not provoke another armed confrontation. It would take only 100 well trained Shias in Iran to hunt soldiers and police across Nigeria and avenge every time Shia civilians are killed by soldiers and police. It doesnt need more than 100 well trained men to target security patrol vechicles, and checkpoints and inflict maximum security damage to life and properties. Will it be then that the government would realize they need to talk with these guys, as citizens and respect their rights after poor soldiers and policemen have been targeted? Then, we wont have pity on security men if that happens to you. And we wont forget that you caused the reaction and then you also must bear the consequences of your inhumane, monstrous and beastly crimes against civilians. In which capital around the world do you see a uniformed soldier stabbing, beating and shooting citizens in broad daylight in the street? I saw the video of soldiers shooting Shia civilians in Abuja yesterday and one monster in army uniform was repeatedly stabbing a helpless man on the ground. What exactly do you stand to gain from such monstrosity? What do you intend to achieve other than destruction? And do you expect this same beast would give birth to kids and have fatherly love and mercy? If such brutality continues, you will push these guys to the wall and you will end up bearing the consequences for being beasts and you should expect no pity. A word is enough for the wise. The American designation is likely as a result of the persecution against Shi'ite/Shia Muslims and the Fulani herdsmen committing massacres against Christian farmers. |
gowonmaharajah:This is a nice sugar coating of this Wahhabi cleric's call for the government of Buhari to commit another massacre using the army. The question is does this Wahhabi cleric oppose the Zaria Massacre that saw hundreds of Shia killed? The answer is no. This Wahhabi cleric like others supported the Zaria Massacre. Therefore he is not exposing the government. He is actually encouraging it to do another. He is simply telling the government that if it doesnt commit another massacre, then the first wont be seen as justified. He is positively encouraging the govt to do another because he is anti Shi'ite. He calls himself "Asadus Sunnah" or "the lion of Sunnis". He is a sectarian bigot. |
Bakr4u:He is right. But sadly, his Wahhabi sect are influential in Nigeria and can influence government decision since Buhari took over. Check my above post (page #3). Their influence and incitement led to/contributed to Buhari to order the Zaria Massacre in 2015 on Shi'ite Muslims. |
Guys, for those who do not understand Arabic. This guy calls himself "Musa Asadus Sunnah" His first name is Musa. His supposed second name "Asadus Sunnah" is a nickname to portray his sectarian bigotry. "Asadus Sunnah" means "lion of the Sunnis". Apparently, he sees himself as a Sunni sectarian lion and must have felt happy when Shia Muslims AKA Shi'ites were massacred in the Zaria Massacre in 2015 by the Nigerian Army. This extremist calling himself Asadus Sunnah is reverberating Middle Eastern slogans that extremist Salafist/Wahabi Takfiri Sunnis in terrorist groups like ISIS and Alqaeda were known for in places like Iraq and Syria when they led their sectarian and terror attacks and battles against Shia Muslim civilians. If this guy believes himself to be a lion of the Sunnis, he should show his temerity and go to the Middle East, where the Shiites have literally trashed his fellow extremists in Iraq and Syria. He is compelling the Nigerian government to quell peaceful protesters. This is what his like of so called Sunni clerics did when Buhari newly took over. They incited him to massacre the Shiites to please their Saudi Wahhabi masters. One so called professor in Bayero Univerity even wrote an open letter on a popular newspaper to Buhari piling tons of lies against the Shiites. The incitement finally led to a massacre and continuous persecution of Nigeria's minority Shia Muslims. This is how they will start with their intolerance. Eventually they will prevail and will persuade the President to order the army to use force. This cleric has nothing to do with Islam. He is a Wahhabi monster. Everyone should take care and be safe. |

Iranian passenger plane 'harassed' over Syria by US fighter jets An Iranian passenger plane flying from Tehran to Beirut was “harassed" by US fighter jets on Thursday before managing to safely land in the Lebanese capital, , Iranian state TV reported. A US official confirmed to the Associated Press that an American fighter jet did pass by the Iranian airliner, but at a safe distance. A Lebanese airport official said the flight, Mahan Air Flight 1152, landed without further incident in Beirut on Thursday evening. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to talk to journalists, had no further details. There were conflicting reports as to what had happened, as Iran initially blamed Israel for the incident. Syrian state media quoted unidentified civil aviation officials in Damascus as saying two jets, suspected of belonging to the US-led coalition, “intercepted” an Iranian passenger plane over al-Tanf, in southwestern Syria. US troops fighting Islamic State militants have established a presence in the al-Tanf area since 2016, which is near Syria's borders with Iraq and Jordan. The US has declared it a so-called de-conflicted zone. Beyond it, Syrian forces and their Iranian allies operate, which makes it a remaining flashpoint in the region. The reports said the interception forced the pilot to sharply change altitude, flying low and causing slight injuries among some of the passengers. According to the Iranian TV report, the fighter jets came within a distance of 100 meters (328 feet) of the Iranian Airbus A310. The pilot quickly took the aircraft to a lower altitude to avoid a collision with the jets, the report said. US Navy Captain Bill Urban, a Central Command spokesman, later told the AP that a US F-15 fighter jet “conducted a standard visual inspection of a Mahan Air passenger airliner at a safe distance of approximately 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) from the airliner this evening.” “The visual inspection occurred to ensure the safety of coalition personnel at al-Tanf garrison,” Urban said. “Once the F-15 pilot identified the aircraft as a Mahan Air passenger plane, the F-15 safely opened distance from the aircraft.” Aircraft at that altitude are to maintain a distance of at least 600 metres (2,000 feet) to ensure they don't hit each other, though planes traveling that close together can encounter wake turbulence. Data from the flight recorded by website FlightRadar24.com showed the airliner climbed from 34,000 feet to 34,600 feet in under two minutes around the time of the incident, then dropped back down to 34,000 feet within a minute after. The aircraft landed soon after this but three passengers sustained injuries and were taken to hospital, the TV report said, citing what it described as informed but unnamed sources at the Beirut airport. The report also said some of the cabin crew were injured but did not elaborate. Iranian state TV quoted the pilot of the Iranian plane as saying the fighter jets' pilots had identified themselves as American over radio communication. Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that following the incident, a protest note was sent to the Swiss Embassy, which represents America’s interests in Iran, warning that if any accident happens on the plane's return flight to Tehran, it will be the responsibility of the United States. The ministry's spokesman, Abbas Mousavi, said Iran is investigating the incident. The same note was also delivered to the UN Secretary-General António Guterres by Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Majid Takht-e Ravanchi. Mahan Air is a privately-owned airline based in Tehran that flies across the Middle East. In 2011, the US Treasury sanctioned the airline for allegedly “providing financial, material and technological support” to Iran's Quds Force, the expeditionary arm of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard. The Treasury also alleged Mahan Air had carried weapons, goods and personnel for the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. All this comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the US after President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from Tehran's nuclear deal with world powers over two years ago. In the time since, a series of escalating incidents have occurred across the Middle East between the two countries, including the US killed an Iranian general in a drone strike and Tehran launching ballistic missiles targeting American forces in Iraq. An adviser to President Hassan Rouhani, Hessameddin Ashena, warned in a tweet that the Mahan Air incident could lead to an Iranian response. “One who minds the lives of its leaders does not play with the lives of our passengers,” Ashena wrote. https://www.euronews.com/2020/07/24/iranian-passenger-plane-harassed-over-syria-by-us-fighter-jet Seun Lalasticlala |

Petrol sold to Nigeria from Europe ‘dirtier’ than black market ‘bush’ fuel John Vidal Wed 1 Jul 2020 07.30 BST Samples from illegal refineries in Niger delta found to be of a higher quality than imported petrol in new analysis Black market fuel made from stolen oil in rudimentary “bush” refineries hidden deep in the creeks and swamps of the Niger delta is less polluting than the highly toxic diesel and petrol that Europe exports to Nigeria, new laboratory analysis has found. Shell, Exxon, Chevron and other major oil companies extract and export up to 2m barrels a day of high quality, low sulphur “Bonny Light” crude from the Niger delta. But very little of this oil is refined in the country because its four state-owned refineries are dysfunctional or have closed. Instead, international dealers export to Nigeria around 900,000 tonnes a year of low-grade, “dirty” fuel, made in Dutch, Belgian and other European refineries, and hundreds of small-scale artisanal refineries produce large quantities of illegal fuel from oil stolen from the network of oil pipelines that criss-cross the Niger delta. The net result, says international resource watchdog group Stakeholder Democracy Network (SDN) in a new report, is that Nigeria has some of the worst air pollution in the world, with dense clouds of choking soot hanging over gridlocked cities leading to a rise in serious health conditions as well as damaged vehicles. The extreme toxicity of the “official” fuel exported from Europe surprised researchers who took samples of diesel sold in government-licensed filling stations in Port Harcourt and Lagos. They found that on average the fuel exceeded EU pollution limits by as much as 204 times, and by 43 times the level for gasoline. Laboratory analysis also showed that the black market fuel was highly polluting but of a higher quality than the imported diesel and gasoline. The average “unofficial” diesel tested exceeded the level of EU sulphur standards 152 times, and 40 times the level for gasoline. “Our research suggests that Nigeria is having dirty fuel dumped on it that cannot be sold to other countries with higher and better implemented standards. The situation is so bad that the average diesels sampled are of an even lower quality that that produced by artisanal refining camps in the creeks of the Niger delta,” said Florence Kayemba, SDN programme manager. With more than 11m, mostly old, cars imported from Europe and Japan on the roads, and hundreds of thousands of inefficient generators used by households and businesses for electricity, Nigeria ranks fourth in the world for deaths caused by air pollution. It has been estimated that 114,000 people die prematurely from air pollution each year. The air quality in cities like Port Harcourt, Aba, Onitsha and Kaduna has reached crisis levels of pollution in recent years, and there is mounting evidence of rising asthma, lung, heart and respiratory diseases. More than half of developing countries, mainly in Africa and Latin America, still use high-sulphur fuels which have long been illegal to burn in western countries. In Nigeria the practice is encouraged by an opaque fuel subsidy system that keeps prices relatively low at the pumps, but is widely thought to fuel corruption. Refineries in Europe are allowed to make the fuel if countries agree to accept it. The SDN report, part-funded by the UK Foreign Office’s anti-corruption conflict, stability and security fund, calculates that around half the air pollution in Port Harcourt, a city of more than 3 million people, comes from the burning of official and unofficial fuel. The rest comes from nearby gas flaring, other industries, and the burning of rubbish. Levels of particulate matter in Port Harcourt and Lagos, says SDN, are 20% worse than Delhi in India, the most polluted capital city in the world, where emergency levels of photochemical smogs are common. In 2016, the River Niger port city of Onitsha was said by the World Health Organization to be the world’s most polluted city, the concentration of PM10s – soot particles – was recorded at 594 micrograms per cubic metre; compared with the WHO safe limit of 66. “The Niger delta already suffers environmental, health and livelihood impacts from decades of oil spill pollution, gas flaring and artisanal refining. This research indicates that it not only experiences the repercussions of producing crude oil, but also in the consumption of dirty official and unofficial fuels,” said the report. According to industry sources which track legal and illegal oil cargo movements – who asked to remain anonymous – around 80% of Nigeria’s petroleum products come from the Netherlands and Belgium. The two countries have some of Europe’s largest refineries. “This is even more concerning at a time when Nigeria is facing an outbreak of coronavirus. High levels of pollution and pre-existing respiratory and other health conditions may increase the risk that Covid-19 poses to the health of the population,” said Matthew Halstead of Noctis, which conducted the laboratory research. The SDN report substantiates allegations made in a 2016 Public Eye investigation and a Dutch government report in 2018, that European refineries and commodity brokers were blending crude oil with benzene and other carcinogenic chemicals to create fuels hundreds of times over European pollution limits for the weakly-regulated African market. This was said to be causing significant particulate pollution, damage to vehicles, and adverse health impacts for local populations. Nigeria, along with Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Benin promised in 2017 to stop the imports of “Africa quality” oil products as part of a UN environment programme initiative. But while Ghana has acted, reducing sulphur from 3,000 to 50 parts per million, Nigeria has argued that it needs more time to adapt. However, the recent collapse in oil prices because of Covid-19 means that imported fuel no longer needs to be subsidised and should no longer be a barrier to Nigeria adopting higher standards. Illegal artisanal refineries are said by SDN to be growing fast in number and scale, now producing 5-20% of all the gasoline and diesel consumed in Nigeria from the estimated 175,000 barrels of crude oil stolen each year. The bush refineries are highly dangerous and frequently explode, adding to air, water and soil pollution in the mangrove swamps. But they are an important source of income for communities. According to SDG, if Nigeria insisted on diesel imports that complied to the country’s intended fuel sulphur standards, particulate emissions could be reduced by 500%, greatly improving pollution and reducing health costs. It recommends that Nigeria enforces its proposed sulphur standards as soon as possible and considers engaging with artisanal oil refiners in future. https://amp.theguardian.com/global-development/2020/jul/01/petrol-sold-to-nigeria-from-europe-dirtier-than-black-market-bush-fuel Seun Lalasticlala |

Nigerian Worker In Beirut Who Was Put Up For Sale On Facebook Refuses To Return Home Souad Lazkani The Nigerian foreign employee, whose controversial case bewildered many Lebanese and Africans alike, has refused to return to Nigeria, according to the Chairman of the Nigerians Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM). The said employee, Busari Peace Ufuoma, was put up for sale on a Facebook marketplace for $1,000 in Lebanon two months ago. The post “selling” her was received with so much criticism and backlash from the general public in both Lebanon and Nigeria. Even the Lebanese government stepped in and local authorities detained the man responsible for the dehumanizing post. However, according to him and his family, it was at Busari’s request that this post was published. According to Nigerian news, NiDCOM chairman, who met with the Lebanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Houssam Diab, revealed that 31-year old Busari has turned down all attempts to rescue her back to Nigeria. NiDCOM chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who is also a veteran journalist, spoke personally with Busari and learned that she has even found a new job in Lebanon and would prefer to stay working here. That’s despite pleas from Oyo State Government (her state) that had pledged to return her safely home. “I spoke to her myself on the phone and I told her that if she gets into any trouble, there will be nobody to call,” Abike Dabiri-Erewa said. “But she said she does not want to come back, that she has found another job.” He added, “Even the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Oyo State, where she is from, spoke to her. We just hope that Nigerians going to work in Lebanon will be properly treated and not treated as slaves.” Dabiri-Erewa however said it is necessary for the public to know that the girl refused to come back to Nigeria but preferred to renegotiate with another employer in Lebanon and has since gained employment there. Many foreign workers come to Lebanon in search of better job opportunities, which are made possible by the Kafala system, a sponsorship program that binds the immigration status of migrant workers to their employers through a contract for a specific amount of years. While it may be perceived as a good opportunity to make money to provide for their families, the reality is that many workers experience a lot of emotional stress and sometimes mistreatment at the hand of employers. The Kafala System, in fact, puts them at the total mercy of their employers. Currently, many migrant domestic workers are suffering from the loss of employment due to the lack of dollars in Lebanon. For instance, dozens of Ethiopians have recently been left homeless by their employers, until the state intervened and sheltered them temporarily in a hotel in Beirut. https://www.the961.com/nigerian-worker-refuses-return-to-nigeria/ Seun Lalasticlala |

IslamVIRGINS:Mumu Christian... can you tell us why Orthodox Christians in Russia and other eastern churches celebrate Christmas on January 6 while Catholics and western churches celebrate on December 25? The same is with easter. The orthodox and eastern churches celebrate a week later. The eastern churches are the traditional churches in the middle east and eastern europe. Also, some eastern churches mark Ash Monday, not Ash Wednesday. These discrepancies arent even as a result of human weakness or being unable to sight the crescent. These differences in Christianity are bigger and year in and year out and based on historical divisions. |

Who says Saudi Arabia as a whole is holy? Muslims believe Mecca and Medina are holy. Not everywhere in Saudi. The royal family of Al Saud rule over than land and over the two cities. The holiness of the land has nothing to do with the rulers who hold power. |
It doesnt look the news or assessment is accurate or timely: https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/iran-leaving-syria-not-so-fast-says-us-syria-envoy-627410 |
GamalNasser:It shows there must already be community spread for this number of foreigners, who often times dont intermingle much with locals, can be infected. And that's how those who stamp their passports would expose their own families at home. The spread in Kano must really be seriously out of hands. |
GamalNasser:Hopefully immigration officers stamping passports were not infected before or after. |
zionmde:Before 1157, the realm was merely referred to as the Roman Empire.[21] The term sacrum ( "holy", in the sense of "consecrated" ) in connection with the medieval Roman Empire was used beginning in 1157 under Frederick I Barbarossa ("Holy Empire" ) : the term was added to reflect Frederick's ambition to dominate Italy and the Papacy.[22] The form "Holy Roman Empire" is attested from 1254 onward.[23] In a decree following the 1512 Diet of Cologne, the name was changed to the "Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation" (German: Heiliges Römisches Reich Deutscher Nation, Latin: Sacrum Imperium Romanum Nationis Germanicæ),[24] a form first used in a document in 1474.[22] The new title was adopted partly because the Empire had lost most of its territories in Italy and Burgundy (the Kingdom of Arles) to the south and west by the late 15th century,[25] but also to emphasize the new importance of the German Imperial Estates in ruling the Empire due to the Imperial Reform.[26] By the end of the 18th century, the term "Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation" had fallen out of official use. Contradicting the traditional view concerning that designation, Hermann Weisert has argued in a study on imperial titulature that, despite the claims of many textbooks, the name "Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation" never had an official status and points out that documents were thirty times as likely to omit the national suffix as include it.[27] In a famous assessment of the name, the political philosopher Voltaire remarked sardonically: "This body which was called and which still calls itself the Holy Roman Empire was in no way holy, nor Roman, nor an empire."[28] In the modern period, the Empire was often informally called the German Empire (Deutsches Reich) or Roman-German Empire (Römisch-Deutsches Reich).[29] After its dissolution through the end of the German Empire, it was often called "the old Empire" (das alte Reich). Beginning in 1923, early-twentieth century German nationalists and Nazi propaganda would identify the Holy Roman Empire as the First Reich (Reich meaning empire), with the German Empire as the Second Reich and either a future German nationalist state or Nazi Germany as the Third Reich.[30] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Roman_Empire |
zionmde:Too many blind believers. Christianity became the state religion of the Roman Empire after Constantine adopted Christianity and imposed it. Thus, the word "Holy" is added to its name to differentiate the two eras of paganism and Christianity respectively. And you said I sound foolish? Empty head. Olodo. Take this as an opportunity to learn something. |
Ease the lockdown and impose partial lockdown, mostly targeting vehicular movement or interstate. Interstate movement should be limited to transportation of food stuffs and essential products and services. Declare proper wearing of face masks compulsory, and hand gloves. Carry out massive testing and contact tracing. |
