CareerRe: Should I Return To Nigeria To Work? by lewa(m): 1:03am On Oct 28, 2006
Bros smiley take it nice and slow. Get some work experience in the UK first, learn the ropes, improve on yourself vis a vis courses, diplomas, or even a post graduate degree and become marketable globally.Nigeria can wait for now. There are tons of guys i know with stellar resumes doing well back in Naija but they came with 4-10 years of North American/European experience and are earning great bucks. The starting salary is great and with siblings who are bankers in the UK they tell me that with prudence and wise savings you are definately on your way. Bros, congrats once again, stuff we Nigerians are made of grin grin

PoliticsRe: Can Peter Obi Survive The Impeachment Saga? by lewa(m): 5:45am On Oct 27, 2006
@ Adcoline,
Oyo lawmakers were not used and dumped as you wrote. But i would say without being economical OBJ is definately a lout. What do you expect? Why should Peter Obi invite him?Senator Ben Obi didnt vote for the 3rd term and he's not pro OBJ.Also he does not belong to the UBA Brotherhood Alliance so how can he return as Senator next year.APGA is Ojukwu's party and you don't expect OBJ to come and give Gov Obi a pat on the head. He came to sow seeds of discord and see what's happening. Peter better have some joker in his back pocket

You don't seem here. The state of origin or the policies of the leader notwithstanding, what everyone wants is a situation where you can go about your normal life in the midst of plenty knowing that tomorrow holds a bright future. That was what Muritala gave Nigerians during his brief tenure as head of state, and that's what I've pointed out.

No other head of state or president in this country have been able to live up to what Muritala did to help the lot of the common man on the street.

Hope you understand now.
What did he do apart from the mass sackings?During Gowon’s 9 years Nigerians really enjoyed. We were at same economic pace with Malaysia and Singapore. Education cost next to nothing and most of the developmental plans for Nigeria were already taking shape because Gowon utilized seasoned and compenent people like Allison Ayida, Philip Asiodu,Awolowo. Chief Lawanson.People were not hungry too. Murtala started mass sackings but historians know that he looted a bank in Benin during the civil war amidst other atrocities. People tend to remember him with nostalgia cause he had no unnecessary security detail which unbeknownst to him to understand my point would lead to his death and from which sucessive leaders learnt from.

That Muritala was from Edo is news to me and to countless history buffs that have been following our chequered history. However i await with anticipation, the revealation of this discovery.Secondly to those who apart from knowing their left from their right have taken the time to read up on the genesis of our problems would tell you that the purported sacking that Muritala carried out inevitably allowed the paucity of seasoned bureacrats from not only the Federal Civil Service but from the Tertiary institutions as well. That lead to the genesis of the breakdown of meritocracy, due process and the like that we are withnesses of today.I don;t know of any award given to Muritala's regime, which was an illegality by the way(before you shout here it was a military coup that ushered him in) The chap was no hero-over to you wink

The bigot in Aso Rock did what he did to embarass himself. This was the same character that wanted to be UN Sec Gen.He wanted the lawmakers to impeach Fayose and not the deputy and when the script was not followed the Producer/Director of the drama flick took action literally into his hands.Afterall hes the Balogun (Generalissimo)of Owu and by extension Nigeria. The inept fellow as we all know cares little for the rule of law and i bet it it would be tough for him to occupy that seat post 07 and the party he commanders to hold sway again.

@ Ono,
no be by force to siddon for GH.Mr Obi should vacate GH if he feels the state no longer needs his help.Honourable resignation isn't the end of the world.,afterall he touts his resume as a technocrat.Posterity would then vindicate him that some ill machinations were behind his ouster.
