Omeruo is still an option for right back, but in all, l think Shehu is establishing himself in that keenly contested position.
Any player that will take that RIGHT WING BACK position from Shehu will have to be good as Phillip Lahm of Germany ... I want t see him against Argentina and give my full verdict . We need all our best players at the right position .

I think this Morocco side will be a better representative for Africa at the world cup honestly.
bro i disagree with you .... the IVORY COAST ... were not proficient enough... so unorganised a team ! ordinary S a will punish that Morocco ... the coach should go and solidify the team , they can be better .

Mickael2:
Are you sure we watched the same Anderletch team?! Their midfield totally bossed the game, PSG had to depend on counterattacks. The Appiah guy who you said knew what he was doing was just hoofing aimless crosses into the box for 90minutes and his covering was very very suspect.

Onyekuru did not have a single header in that game, maybe you made a mistake there. His teammates were actually very good except for that Appiah guy and the problem they had was that they were using Appiah as their main attacking outlet and his crosses were just dumb all game long, if they switched their tactics to attack through Onyekuru's wing then they would have scored a few goals, they made PSG look ordinary.

That said Onyekuru needs to work on the defensive side of his game and his clinicality
bros you didnt watch the match .

Oga icon4s u be boss here, pls i want u to tell us d striker now, agreed Nacho is warming bench,Ighalo not too clinical.

Pls let's go down to memory lane,Westerhoff era,we have Yekini,Amokachie, Siasia as d strikers but i can tell u they are not our best in Europe as at that time but d best in national team.

Hope u remember Richard Owubokiri in Boavista,d second best striker in d whole Europe but couldn't break into Eagles, Did u remember Mike Obiku in Feyenord,Chris Ohenhen in Compostela in LA liga.

These are in form player and superb strikers who are supposed to be in d team but Westerhoff believe National team was a different ball games and he stick to his team especially Samson Siasia who was finding it difficult in Europe.

Despite Efan Ekoku high profile with Norwich he find it difficult to break into XI,if I can remember Ekoku only had a game against Zaire.

My question is this where are d strikers that are better,if we can get them no issue, national team belongs to all players.
dont forget Evan Ekoku style of play those years were typical english style , not until the europe in general adjusted to their kick and follow style .... english football is difficult and its one way traffic in those days .... Westerholf liked team work , and if you re a player that doesnt play with the team , you will sit on the bench , Ask Jayjay .

Same here. I wish that both of us can go to the World Cup. They deserve to represent Africa too.

O pari
i wish that too ,they re fast and determinant ... i really like their tactics , its quite unfortunate for them , if they meet us again in the nations cup , the will not be an easy nut to crack .

I think Babangida was arguably the fastest player in the world back then.

Those who were gamers then would know he had a speed of 99 in the then Winning Eleven game. That was year 2000.

But finidi was class.
you can say that again.... Babangida is cheap and with 13k point you can have him and use him earn points to buy other players ... if you didnt play videoo game you will not be able to understand this ....lol

Lol,its not really a wicked prayer grin . Echijele and Akpeyi are two players that most fans don't want to start against Zambia...

But on a serious note, how well can Aina adapt to the left back position?? I can't remember the last time he played in that role...
Not many full backs can play the right and left back roles well...
at worst , Onazi will play that role . Even Etebo . can function well in that position . but i dont see that happening . Rohr knows best . its time Rohr find a solid replacement for Echejile , old age has set in

This is a reflection of our league. But among the back line , who can bench . Ekong , Abdullai, I don't want to even mention the big names in main team back line huh
Nice victory though , they should train the attackers on how to score . If they have killed the game in the first match and second , they will not struggle .

Yep
Moses will play second fiddle to Zappacosta this season
i think you re wrong on this , the standard of this game is low , Conte is smart to reserve one of his best legs ... you can pick from the back line.

and that Zappacosta goal was a fluke , his intention was to cross the ball in . please go and check and revert .

Lol... na now you dey know? In Ndidi, you are looking at Leicester's Best Midfielder now... and I see him leave within the next two years for a bigger club. He will be a certified world class bad-ass in his position soon... at this rate, I know that will happen.
i keep having the feeling that Chelsea will come for him , it may even be next season .

We are going to Yaounde with a win in mind cos we know we may actually book qualification on that day.

I suggest we keep the same shape as the first leg. The difference being that The wing forwards will do more work to support the full backs.

Creativity and the individual brilliance from Mikel, Moses and Simon would be key.

We expect the Cameroonians to be all over us so we need those quality long passes to initiate counter attacks.

If we are leading comfortably and we need to make a like for like switch for an attacker I would like to see Nwakaeme instead of Iheanacho. Let's see what he can offer.
you re right bro ! but the cameroonian have nothing to play for except their pride , they may come out as a wounded lion , we need to be careful cos they will come after our guys with rough tackles , lets hope the referee will be observant to do the needful ... but i will prefer a victory come monday . we re not settling for less

Algerian team is a weak team , even after Zambian is one man down , they still went ahead to score them, i think we have done justice to this group by not getting involve in any permutation to qualify . it will be good if we kill the game come monday qualify with 2 more games to go . we have achieved one game to go in 1998 .

i don't think we can assail the 25position on Fifa rankings. Don't forget the seedings will be in Nov this year.
If we white wash the Cameroonian on their soil and deal with Zambia in our home ....it's easy for us to climb that ladder . I foresee us climbing btw 5and 10 steps higher .

Come what may , i want us to continue with this tempo . If possible go to the World Cup as underdog will be a good thing for us .... we can shock them all . The write up before Cameroonian match played a huge part in our victory . They got carried a way with their African crown . Thinking it's by past glory .
Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Cameroon: Player Rating by lexyman(m): 8:24pm On Sep 01, 2017
Nice work Jarus ! but not satisfied with Leon's rating ,he deserves 8.5/10 , he made the cameroonian striker looked ordinary , made a couple of good clearance ...

Moses deserves 9.5/10 .

I want to make a RESOUNDING apology to Ikechukwu Ezenwa. He was CRIMINALLY underrated. Clean sheet against AFCON Champs no be beans

Onwards to Russia, so much for group of death. I said it, that what SA met in Uyo was not our real team. Anyone still doubts Rohr's coaching abilities?
Rohr deserves some level of respect, he has just proved that , travelling to watch the cameroonian team during the confederation's cup wasnt a waste of time ... 4:0 is a nice result . very tactical game indeed
