Zonacom: You guys can only pledge to produce the best petroleum products for Nigeria. You can't do much about ending scarcity, cos it's more of politics. Oga , I disagree with you . They can end the scarcity .... this is a private business , that will want to sell their product and make money .... the more they will selll the more income that goes to them . Unless government shut down their operation . And I am sure to avoid this a lot of things must have been put in place . Their production will put an end to scarcity . Their main future challenge is the electric car . When petroleum will become useless |

Mujtahida: Guys I got an interesting book from a WhatsApp forum I belong to on how Germany won the last WC (Title:Das reboot). If anyone is interested in the book just drop your email and I will send the book to you.
The book details how the Germans engineered the 2014 success, how they went about it deliberately, setting things up from say roughly 2002. It tells of how German players are educated to become thoroughbred professionals. It tells the story of the establishment of football academies and playing centers spread out throughout Germany in a way similar to how the RCCG church establishes a parish in every 1km (walking distance). It talks about the potpourri of human resources the Germans utilized- they even involved the German national hockey team coach, a world renowned adventurer and SAP (the largest software company in the world)
It's 289 pages, written in quite an engaging way with a happy, lighthearted tone wrapped up in simple, crisp English.
Football is no longer kick, dribble, run, score. It has become scientific, indeed almost a pure science. This much became apparent to me when due to the constant use of terms like pressing, diamond shape, tactical formations by goodjoe, Mickael2 and others. Joebie reintroduced me again to four four two online after I'd read the hardcopies long time ago. Reading four four two magazine further reinforced the view that football is an intellectual endeavour.
We are here today. Nobody knows who among us might be involved with our football tomorrow. So reading such a book can birth a dream in our hearts or at least give us insight on how things are shaping up beyond our climes. Reading Icon4s mention Osimhen in his exchange with goodjoe, I remembered the book and I think Osimhen is just now getting educated. Our footballer play football. Europeans are educated from 6 years on to play football. That's the difference between Iwobi said Osimhen. Street cannot measure up anymore to the refinements of an educated footballer. That era is long gone. thnak you , please i want a copy : lexydav@yaho.co.uk |

darkelf: I am very happy about today's match.
Why? One might ask
I argued with someone on this thread who opined that God's favor was behind Ezenwa's continual inclusion into the starting eleven.
Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing personal against him. But I know that God is a fair judge and will favor the most hardworking and talented. we can now see that the main driving force behind Ezenwa was pure sentiments
I am very happy for the chance given Ajiboye. Hopefully, Rohr took notice. Now onto greater things for Ajiboye. I also hope Ezenwa recovers soonest from his injury.
The competition for the goalkeeping department just got better and fiercer.
May the best win!!!!! We have not seen the best of him , I know him to be a penalty specialist . .... I could remember during the coach Tela Era of the Under 17 World Cup ... he made 3 or 4 saves followed by antecedents of all other saves at this maturity stage . He is good , we don’t need too many matches to take note of this . |

we have had...players who came in time past played better...even won the tournament MVP only to end up in a south Africa and northern Africa league....
with the way okputu is misfiring in all cylinders I fear him not to end up in a north Africa league...
that should be your prayer...not him making the world cup or battling for the future super eagles CF....... player like Uzoenyi right . lol . i ve been following the CHAN tourney ... |

Icon79: Take it from someone who knows, no home based striker would be going to Russia.
Truth is, Nigeria don't really have strikers. We simply don't know how to train strikers. What we have in Nigeria are natural finishers aka goal poachers, not striker. You would understand what I am saying if you've played the game at home and abroad. I thought that I was a super striker when I was in Nigeria and it took me months ... literally, to realize that I was making some elementary school errors. gosh, even our all time best striker, Rasheed Yekini didn't become a good striker until we moved to Ivory Coast.
Hence, I don't see any home-based strikers challenging the likes of Iheanacho, Ighalo, Musa etc for a position the team. Mark my words!
O pari i am not saying he is in the same category with those you mentioned , what i have only pointed out are just his attributes , if you have not been paying attention to it , you have an opportunity in tomorrow's match and if he undergoes some special grooming he may become the kind of player we will need in he future . nearest future is the world , and mind you its just a prediction .... |

Humility017: Nigeria: Eagles' Okpotu Urges Team Mates to Stay Focused By David Ngobua
Home-based Super Eagles striker, Anthony Okpotu, has urged his team mates currently vying for honours in the 2018 Africa Nations Championship, CHAN, in Morocco to stay focused on the task at hand. On Sunday, the Eagles returned from the brink of defeat to win their quarter-final clash 2-1 against Angola. After missing a glorious scoring opportunity in the first 20 seconds of the highly explosive encounter, Okpotu scored Nigeria's equaliser in the 92nd minute to take the match to extra-time. Akwa United Gabriel Okechuwkwu then scored the match winner in the second half of added time to hand the Super Eagles their second CHAN semi-final ticket. In a telephone chat with Daily Trust yesterday, Okpotu said he felt relieved when he scored the vital goal to save the team from elimination. He said even as he was not happy that he did not take the chance that fell to him, he remained optimistic because he knew he would make amends.
Okpotu also said even the best strikers in the world miss goals so he did not see anything so different about his mistake. "It was a difficult moment for me as a striker because I should have scored that goal. "I know what was running through the minds of Nigerians when the semi-final ticket was slipping away from us. But I was focused. I knew we were going to make it.
"I am happy that I scored to make amends. I thank my team mates for believing that we could still do it," said the Lobi Stars danger man. Okpotu told his colleagues that they may be criticised but it shouldn't dampen their spirits. "We have two more matches to play so I am urging my team mates to stay calm and focused. We have to concentrate so as to win our next match and if possible, the trophy," he advised.
source : allafrica.com dont be surprised guys if this guy makes it to Russia , i am having the feeling, he has some unique style and so far in this competition he has nt done badly .... has the power and his hold up play is good ... also have a way of coming to the midfield to contribute to the team , i know he has missed some begging chances and one on one ... but he can get better , what if he his been drill and he develop so fast into the kind of beast we will need ? i think stage fright has contributed to his ability , but he keeps improving ... pay attention to him , he is Strong and dangerous . just my opinion |

Again, some people are just following the tournament not because they are fans of the NPFL but because they just wanna support Nigeria.. maybe they will put more interest in the league if we win it .
