YelloweWest:You just edited your post now! Let's keep this impersonal! Don't get get all emotional on me and ruin the fun. Veiled allusion of familial inferences do not sit well with alcohol. I'm going home before you ruin my evening. I'll check you out when I'm sober enough to take your passion in my stride. **modified *** you can get all your legal precedents online. Fortunately, I'm not your lawyer! |
Estharfabian:Don't misconstrue my handle. Lezz is an endearment of Leslie, my given name. I still bear the scars of trolling on NL's die-hard rectum-bandits and I have left them will a permanent welt |
Excuzeme:My legal e-soldier!!! Please carry on and untangle me from the ceasless knots of my persistent posers!!! She isn't yielding ![]() My beer is beginning to play tricks on my tongue already. |
YelloweWest:Let me confess, I didn't read beyond the first line of impossibility of fighting statutory marriage....I just finished off from a hard day at the office and I'm unwinding in a local bar. I'm debating with you with less than 40% of my brain controlled by less than 50% of my sobriety. A statutory marriage isn't immune from the evil antics of greedy relations. Law suites can drag for ages by injunctions and other legal hurdles further than a Will. I don't favour statutory marriages, it doesn't give a man much options if the wife falls out of love in old age. Will can always be written and rewritten to reflect real-time changes. Bring it on, _fuck this beer!!! |
Estharfabian:Fagggots are nature's anally expelled quirk. They are left off without the effort of expression ![]() |
Excuzeme:Let me begin by saying the term good conscience, justice, and equity are absolute legal terms and should not be taken for its surface meaning. If a teststor, in this case a father, wills all of his estate off to a charity agency, and his family never abandoned him and actually sticked with him through thick and thin, it becomes legally repugnant to good conscience, the Will can be legally contested to seek redress..... |
Estharfabian:You're not alone in that thought. You just echoed an intrinsic fact of the law of attraction of the sexes. Every contrasting physical feature of men and women is a spark of curious and enticing attraction. The Bossom and curves of women are attractive to men as the average men lack these features. Same way muscles and height of men are an ingrained feature of attraction to women. |
YelloweWest:Nothing happens!!! Even if I married her statutorily, she'll still seek legal remedies if relations of mine became heady as she will have to do during the validation of the will. Mind you, a Will can only go through validity test when contested. Who the _fuck is going to contest that ? My relatives? Not a chance. If they did, they'll also fight her statutory marriage or not. |
YelloweWest:I'll always ensure in making a valid will. There's nothing to invalidate a valid will by a testator. A valid will overrides all customs and traditions as long as it isn't repugnant to good conscience, justice and equity |
Sunnynwa:In Nigeria statutory and customary marriages have an ocean of difference. 1) if you marry statutorily, only a Federal HIGH COURT CAN PRONOUNCE YOU DIVORCED!!! ( I think Imo state is the only exception to state courts)2) If you marry statutorily, you become liable to the offence of bigamy ( the crime of marrying more than one wife) it carries jail time without the option of fine. 3) To process a divorce is expensive. Lawyers charge more going to high courts ![]() 4) Your wive gets to keep a certain percentage of your estate in almost any circumstances BY LAW!!! 5) IF YOU CAUGHT HER IN BED WITH ANOTHER MAN, GETTING A DIVORCE MIGHT BE TOUGH 6) MOST COUNTRIES DO NOT RECOGNISE ANY OTHER FORMS OF MARRIAGE. _FUCK YOU THINK AKATA BOYS ARE MARRYING LOCAL GIRLS STATUTORILY FOR ? |
YelloweWest:I shall not die intestate!!! I will leave a will in my wake!!! I will not bow to legal intricacies !!! A conceited wife can exploit the advantages of a statutory marriage to the utmost!!!! |
AVRecruit:Well taken point. Only in Nigeria do couples have to fulfill traditional, statutory and church marriages before a man is deemed to have married his wife in completion! Complete waste of energy, time and resources!!! Many men have been lured by their wives into statutory/court marriages after concluding tradition and church marriage rites. And without knowing the intricacies and legal obligations of court marriages, they have plunged into the deeps of murky, legal waters! Marriages should be deemed complete after traditional requirements have been completed! Women pressure men for white wedding just to fulfill their Cinderella dreams! The more dangerous and daring wives coerce their husbands into statutory marriages as life insurance policies. |
iblawi:You took the words right out of my mouth. The pettiness, the duplicity, the desperation for points, the inanity that besieged these south Africans to resort to any measure to win. ![]() Despair must be a south African!!! |
jln115:I have noticed each time you chose to reply to my post you always lack spontaneity and originality. You are wont to use my lines and mode of operation.....pseudo- plagiarism Let's get started, shall we ?Racism, inequality and economic suppression between black and white has been with south Africa for over 300 years !!!! It is a definite character of the south African socio-political reality. Comparing a fleeting phenomenon as war on terrorism to a reality which has been the painful mark of your national existence only shows your brain is inherently deprived of adequate oxygen. jln115:Another sham from a south African who paints a wishful picture of what he secretly hopes his country will become. Nigeria's middle class is slightly above 50 million, that's the size of the entire population of south Africa!!! Why the heck did you think your president came with the tone and mannerism of a minion to his boss? ![]() jln115:Google is my close companion, she tells me, you're a slummy skulker the word NIC is wrapped in controversy and has not been generally accepted. In south Africa 8% whites live a comfortable life close to European standards, while the vast majority are a beachcombing, itinerant socio-economic hoboshoboes !!!!What? Lastly my name is not John.[/quote]John is trite with uncommon _stupidity ![]() |
iblawi:The hypocrisy and self-deception of these south Africans are so uncommon. I watched Zuma's speech as he addressed the joint sitting of the National Assembly; he affirmed everything we've been saying here, from our efforts during apartheid south Africa and the need to forge closer alliance with Nigeria. These chest-drumming delusionists here will seek to paint a deceptive picture. But how do you compare a Country like Nigeria whose middle class is as large as the entire population of south Africa? The China-ism of Africa by Nigeria has commenced |
iblawi:Don't mind the imposters!!! |
jln115:Oh, shut up, John! Racism is a clear reality in south Africa, it defines the very workings of south Africa. You have a country ruled by 8% whites who control the entire economy for centuries and 85% blacks who live like destitute vagabonds. And quit the lame NIC talk, south Africa is 3rd world sleazebucket, the loose definition of some eager and undisciplined political commentators can't change the true concept. Last year, I told you shammers that your government will loose more power to Abuja, economically and politically as you companies' survivability becomes tied to the decisions of ASO Rock. The concessions have only just begun! |
RiloKiley:'sup, bro, but na true talk na. Europe was far more advanced than Africa even when their women weren't working. |
Thiza:Give us sources to your bogus claims about SA sending troops to Nigeria! |
YelloweWest:Women working in the West since history has always been necessitated by shortages or need. From world wars 1 & 2 to the Great depression. Matter of fact, America implored women to go back home after the end of WW2. Women not working has no bearing to Africa's under development. http://www.ummah.com/forum/showthread.php?243179-When-did-women-start-working How do you explain the middle east like Saudi Arabia and UAE where women still live a tad higher than domestic help? They are still structurally more advanced than Africa. Yeah, Europe installed female kings out of the expediency of keeping blue bloods in the throne but at the same time women were denied the right to vote!!! In fact women have attained full suffrage in some African countries like Nigeria when some European countries were still denying women that right. Countries like France, Italy, Portugal etc only granted women that right in the 1940s, while Switzerland and Leicestershire were 1971 and 1984 respectively!!! Africa's development or lack thereof has no bearing with women's participation or non-participation in the economy. |
YelloweWest:Women only began entering the workforce in Europe during WW2 and the development gap between Africa and Europe is wider then than it is today. |
Creamish:I don't think I know how to put it, I have often felt it and have never had the generosity of expression to drape that feeling in more depictive words.......so forgive me if I seem vague. There's a certain inability for women to show kindness to the offspring of another ----even the child of a sibling ---- in a selfless and unbiased manner. There are exceptions, of course, but the number isn't large enough to discredit the well earned stereotype. There's just this domestic maltreatment of wards by women that has become trite since humanity. It think it began with Sarah, the wife of Abraham ![]() |
Creamish:Just don't blow it out of context ![]() I'll meet you there ![]() |
RadicallyBlunt:This has to go down as one of the most bluntly expressed truth I've read in nairaland. It goes with a share, a JPEG and permanent memorisation. |
Creamish:We're all human; everyone wants to live and die in company. |
SirShymexx:Words of wisdom! |
obowunmi:No man should debase his manhood in such fashion, a man should be financially ready to take care of himself and his family before setting sail on the rough tides of marriage. However a working wife should come in when necessary, there shouldn't be a fast rule on this. Even if the husband were Dangote, If the wife loves him, she will always look for little ways to make financial input to their empire. |
obowunmi:The OP's case is slightly complicated. First it's a relationship match-made. Who does that these days? So there's no love hovering around them. If the OP's fiancée loved him, she wouldn't mind helping out financially if the need arose. Evidently the finacee is having doubts if OP isn't marrying her for her wealth. Most wealthy women are wont to suspecting men's motives in relationships especially if they be below average in looks. My opinion is if the wife works, she should share the financial burden at most 20% WITHOUT THE HUSBSAD DEMANDING. After all, a working wife will sacrifice some amount of home care for office hours. |
mzvyne:It is a worrying trend nowadays!!! The 21st century male has been effeminately indoctrinated. Have you not noticed the increasing number of men who ponder more on their looks, clothes, cosmetics and personal ornamentation than they worry about skill acquisition or developing a sound world-view or providing responsible leadership? The economic success of women has cast a shadow of blurred reality and expectation for many men. |
mzvyne:A man's first and primary responsibility is to provide for his family. This is instinctively ingrained in every man! A woman's natural disposition is to nurture and groom the home. I see no qualms preparing bread toast and tea for my wife when she's a little ill or having a lazy morning in bed. Or when she's having pregnancy associated weakness. And on weekends, I'll love her to watch me cook a tomato sauce. Similarly, it'll be a small relief if she does a little domestic expenses that skipped my mind like power bills or paying for a fixed electronics or the like. There's no absolutism in spousal responsibilities. |
Fanirandele:I didn't see anywhere in this thread where any poster opined expressly that all women are under all men!!! women are under their husbands no matter her educational qualification, and on the broader society, every man has a responsibility for every woman within his immediate environment in courtesy, respect, protection and security. Fanirandele:I don't know of any law in Nigeria that denies women any rights. Do you? Please stop this shallow accusation. Fanirandele:Men aren't scared of successful women, we find the majority of them incompatible. There's a difference. Statistics shows that women with high financial independence are more likely to walk out of marriage than women with average income. Statistics have also shown that successful women are twice unhappy with depression than with everyday women. Men don't want that. Successful women are not complementary; they are pseudo captains who engage in the rat race and dirty office politics and wear out their beauty and joy and sweetness away faster than the new Ferrari can hit 0-60 mpH. We don't want that Fanirandele:If dangote were a woman, he will have to employ enough PR and bullying and yelling to get half the respect he has now. If opera were a male she would be as influential as was Larry king. Fanirandele:Women and authority will never sit well together. Can a lady command a battalion to war ? When my manager used to have menstrual cramps and delegate her work to me, I knew man was trying to outsmart nature. Fanirandele:Crap load of incoherence! Since when does superiority in discipline alter the scheme of life. And who wants submission from a woman that isn't my wife ? Stop flying on the wings of false accusations, dear. Fanirandele:Any man can marry who he damn please, after all, we are seeing a trend where lazy packaged boys are going for hardworking females these days and sucking their nectar oh it's the fad now. The higher a lady goes economically, her natural maternal instincts is preyed on my jobless, sweet-tongued guys. But we owe it to posterity to say what feminism truely is. It's an enemy of mankind, especially women themselves. It fights against their very nature. Check, my threads, and look for the thread I entitled "why the modern woman is sad" it was a well researched topic from real people and real events. Fanirandele:Adultery is a different matter entirely. Africans are the real deal. Your white overloads are endorsing bestiality, homosexuality and animal rights when over 2 billion people are starving while they still keep mistresses. But let me not derail. You're an African, and you shouldn't give a good goddamn about feminism, its actual purpose will swallow you whole and choke you away into the chasm of its enormity. |
