Guitarlife: OP please how old are you ? And do you have a mother ? Have you discussed this with her and what did she say ?
Personally I feel sorry for your husband. Our mothers went through hell to keep their homes. Some even endured domestic violence and you want to walk out of a marriage because you are suffering from a mood swing ?
May this kind of woman never cross my path
lord ...... So because our mothers went through hell we should sufffer the same fate. Our mothers transferred aggression to their kids, beating and always saying “it’s because of you I stayed with your father” no that is a horrible way to live. Life is too short to stay in misery and be bitter, most ( did not say all ) of our mothers were bitter women because society forced them to endure horrible marriages. However, now women can start making their own choices, the point is not to make the wrong one that you might regret. Dear OP please talk to your husband about it and see if you guys can go for counseling. Do not be ashamed of your pursuit of happiness, as human beings we are entitled to one, don’t let Nairaland people shame you into living an unhappy life because our mothers suffered, bitter and angry women don’t make good mothers. |

I was waiting for them to blame the wives, that did not take long.
Nigerian men have to decide if they are the head of the house, or if women should take submissive roles. How can someone that claims to be the head of a house be so easily influenced. When a husband has issues with the family, it’s the wife’s fault. When a marriage breaks down it’s the wife’s fault. When the man is bankrupt, it’s the wife’s fault.
Most Nigerian men are NEVER held responsible for anything. The Nigerian society is NOT doing Nigerian men any favors, because what it means is that Nigerian men are so weak that they can’t even control their house, they are easily influenced. So their wives told them to cut their mom out of their lives and these two GROWN men acquiesced. Really?! Please if Nigeria men are so weak that they can be easily influenced to abandon their family, lose money, destroy their marriages, then maybe Nigerian men are not fit to be ‘head’ of the house. |

hollandis: Why are countries taking advantage of corners My dear unlike our regressive football system. Most counties are practising and perfecting set pieces now, it’s another efficient way to get goals if you can’t get one during play, as you can see during this World Cup underdog teams are giving the big teams run for their money, matching them play for play. If you are a tennis fan, this is akin to players perfecting their serve, because they know they can steal ‘free’ points from Aces. |

rentAcock: The turn out of African fans during this worldcup has been discouraging. I could count the number senegalese fans and they weren't more than 10 in the entire stadium. It's expensive traveling to Russia and then paying for tickets for the game. But I've already told myself, I must attend the 2026 world cup in the US, Canada and Mexico. I was very surprised with the low turn out too, because a visa is not required for fans of the 32 teams, just buy the ticket, get a fan ID and you are good to go. Yes the tickets were shockingly expensive, 3rd match group stage in not so good section in Luzhniki Stadium was $210!. However, if you think tickets will be cheaper in NA, you might be in for a surprise, American sport tickets are known to be very expensive, unless you want to watch the matches in Mexico. |

Whether it was intentional or not but the fact is, his outstretched arm (which was not a natural position) stopped a goal bound shot, that carries a penalty and a red card. Referee just following the rules. |

And even if they know about condoms already they won't have the mind to visit the pharmacy plus money no even dey to buy cos they will prefer to buy puff puff and sweets.. hence unsafe sex occurs and possible std. You did not start fvcking at the age of 4, you were raped at the age of 4. |

kevoh: They don't share condoms in churches, yet fornication is the order of the day. From choir master shagging choristers to Pastors sleeping with the young girls in the church. Some are even bold enough to do it in hidden corners in the church.
Back to the topic,
I always knew the Catholic Church to be pro-life and strongly against most forms of artificial contraceptives with condom being the most practical and effective of them all. The downside to this is they are not considering the risk of giving birth to unwanted children and overpopulation issues, as they refuse to deliberate owing to religious practice.
The proposed natural contraceptive method while it's effective on paper, is actually quite rigid and mechanical and leads to unwanted pregnancy most of the time if not well practiced.
This is a very delicate topic.
NB: My opinion is purely targeted at married couples and not singles. My teacher at my pre-marital class in my Catholic Church also warned us not to use contraceptive pills/Condoms for ‘family planning’ as it’s unnatural. He touted the Billings method as the natural and effective method. My teacher had Nine Children. |
Romance › Re: Meet Lauren, 29-Year-Old Pregnant Virgin From Canada by liberalchick(f): 9:32pm On Feb 12, 2018 |
TheSuperNerd: This is simply a case of the virgin lady getting pregnant without engaging in penetrative sex or having her hymen broken. And it is rare, yes.... Buttttttt it us so damn possible.
All that is needed is a sperm strong enough to swim up her vagina as a sperm can live up to 24 hrs in the woman's body and this sperm is introduced without penetrative sex. It may have gotten in thru the V's contact with sperm spilled (a very rare happening) and also via artificial insemination. But please let it be noted that Virgin pregnancy cases are rare and requires sperm to swim up the vagina and to the tubes where the eggs are before implantation will take place in the uterus.
So, it is possible to be a virgin (hymen intact) and still get pregnant but it is rare shaa.... This story of 29 years old Lauren is just another of the rare happenings in medical science.
Cc Oga Lefulefu... Thanks for the tag. It was in the article she had a donor egg IVF NOT artificial insemination, some or all of her hymen has to make way for the catheter that will transfer the embryo to her uterine wall. She has a medical condition where she is unable to have sex ( she has no reproductive function) hence the donor egg as she can not produce any eggs. She used a donor egg and a donor sperm, both were fertilized in a petri dish. The resulting embryo was transferred into her uterus. |
Romance › Re: Meet Lauren, 29-Year-Old Pregnant Virgin From Canada by liberalchick(f): 9:22pm On Feb 12, 2018 |
nextstep: The definition of virgin is that one hasn't had intercourse, but that does not stop one from being pregnant:
"In vitro fertilization is used to allow spermatozoa to fertilize eggs in a culture dish before implanting the resulting embryo or embryos into the uterus of the prospective mother." - Wiki
I suppose this case is unusual because typical candidates for IVF have tried the natural methods - but apparently this one wants a child without a partner. I imagine that the hymen would be ruptured upon birth, unless she undergoes C-section, so she could be our very first virgin mother :-)
It's been used in animal husbandry for decades (e.g. pregnant virgin cows who give birth to calves with sperm that have been obtained from a single bull in order to improve resistance to disease, milk or meat yield). This was an IVF not AI The hymen is already ruptured or partially ruptured, the fertility doctor has to transfer the embryo through her vagina to her uterine wall. I don’t know how he will manage that without at least a hole in the hymen for the catheter to pass through. Anyways some people define virginity as no sexual activity, hymen intact or not. |
