Every discerning Nigerian knows this. PMB is the rallying point in APC and once he's gone, it's to your tent. I won't be surprised to see Northern politicians return in droves to PDP in 2022 just to retain presidency in the North. |
Not just Tinubu, even some SANs of Yoruba extraction in this administration have maintained undignified silence in face of loud and persistent opposition to the Amotekun from a particular section of the Country. We know they can eat and talk and talk at the same time. But what is sure is that Yoruba people are taking stock. |
Now that Atiku has found his voice, Tinubu is next. As for those SANs of Yoruba extraction in this administration who have maintained undignified silence now that it matters most, let them know that their people are taking stock. |
Peaceful protest for whatever reason, however absurd it is, is a right of any Nigerian. That you disagree with the reason for their protest does not mean you should haul insults at them, as long as they have not infringed on the right of anyone. |
Semantics. Removed not destroyed. But the statues aren't there again at the moment. Knowing how things work in this part of the world, the government should have erected the new befitting ones before removing or demolishing the old ones |

The news has no source and may have been concocted. However, whoever made the president t the leader of his party has done a major disservice to our democracy. The President should be answerable to the party and by implication, the Chairman |
At this stage, the South West Governors should not even contemplate backing down on the Amotekun else they commit political suicide. If Malami and those proding him eventually succeed in stiffling live out of the Amotekun, then one might be safe to conclude that a particular region is bent on subjugating the other regions. |
I do not know of any Nigerian politician that has integrity. Except, of course, integrity has any other meaning Beware of sanctimonious people who will like to proclaim how holy they are at every given opportunity. Often times, such people are always full of filth |
When the news broke, I almost dismissed it as one of those beer parlour gist. $30000 is roughly #11 million. This shouldn't ordinarily entice someone who has just completed 4 years tenure as a member of the one of the highest paid Senate in the World. Until Sanni states his side of the story, I will still give him the benefit of the doubt. |
Did he not promise to end medical tourism for elected officials? Did he not also promise to convert the presidential fleet to National Carrier? How far? |
So this lie detector story is 'truly true' after all. Is the result from the machine admissible as evidence in court? Aren't there receipts either paper or electronic for such transaction? |
Very very good and commendable. The government should ensure that the allocation to the deserving low income earners is not hijacked by the 'big boys'. If these buildings cost #3.7 billion, can we all see how many of such can be replicated with the billions approved for the renovation of the National Assembly. We are our own enemies. |
The FG and the DSS never for once mentioned that the bails granted the duo had been appealed. What we heard was that Dasuki wasn't released because of National Security which in their own wisdom supercedes rule of law. Nigerians aren't dumb to have clamoured for their release on bail if the government had appealed their bails. This explanation by the AGF is mere damage control. Sadly these are the people advising and perhaps misadvising the Retired Major General on matter of constitution he is likely deficient in . |
Sometimes one may not really blame the Retired Major General as he may be limited in his knowledge of law. But when the very people who are paid and expected to guide him in matters like this are the ones who lead him astray, the sorry is the case. Was Sowore's bail appealed? What about Dasuki's bail? Which court ordered the stay of execution on their bails? |
Prof should be prepared for the barrage of insults coming his way. The Major General (Retd) can do no wrong. |
Some of us may not be privy to the immediate and remote issues behind the Ile Arugbo. Even at that, government should have found a better use for the structure on the land rather than outright demolition. |
What! The road became unsafe and the masses found succor and respite in trains. Now this! |
It's long overdue. It's one of the needed steps towards regionalization and eventual restructuring. But when I remember the fate of LAUTECH in the hands of Osun and Oyo, I can only imagine what will become of the Amotekun in the hands of these Chief Executives. Each state should have floated their outfits, after all Kano has Hisbah Police. |
The management of Punch well knew they would be loosing some patronage fron the regime before taking that decision hence this shouldn't come to them as a surprise. It is better to be on the side of masses . I'm even surprised that they haven't thrown out Punch's correspondent from the Rock. Kudos again to Punch for the well delivered punching editorial. |
I do not think any sane Nigerian will support the amount billed for the renovation |
Just like the APM guy in Ogun returned to APC days after loosing at the Supreme Court. I like it when people use the available and approved legal structures to ventilate their grievances without necessarily inciting their supporters to violence. That said, I do not know why politicians think they must be in the ruling party to survive. You can actually be a formidable opposition and still command the respect and patronage and make members of the ruling party stand on their toes. Obviously, he and his followers who ditched the party last year may never be trusted within the party again, and that in itself may be the genesis of another rancour that may eventually send him out of the party again. |
Drop the name or remain silent. |
The Hon Minister should know that this media trial will only jeopardize any success he has achieved so far. If anyone has admitted to shortchanging the commission, such persons should be reported to the appropriate anti-corruption agencies and not the media. The forensic audit shouldn't be sensationalized hence it looses it's credibility. Where are the billions and properties recovered from ex or repented looters? |
A costly error indeed. Someday, the truth about the Boko Haram will be revealed. Obviously, those hugely benefiting from fund involved wouldn't want it end anytime soon. I strongly belief that it takes a commander-in-chief who has balls and not sympathetic to the Boko Haram to end completely end their scourge. |
Mallam Garba Shehu is now becoming the official spokesperson of the 'Cabal' |
Maybe because he is a US resident. Otherwise, Dasuki is also qualified for the award. Not to talk of Agba Jalingo and perhaps, Elzakzaky. |
The government of Kano should also make attempt to train women that will be riding these tricycles to complete the all-women trip. Their state, their choice. |
He too should be the judge. If someone is playing a discordant , off-key tune, he needs not be told that the music is not pleasant to the ears since he himself can hear it. Same thing for someone who plays melodiously since he too can hear. But when will Punch revert back to the normal status since the regime of the Retired Major General has started hackening to the voice of reason. |
All of them are hypocrites. The men of the media should sustain this heat to ensure that not only Agba Jalingo, but every other persons unjustly incarcerated regain freedom. |
...and it's already yielding result. |
