Why not Imo government? He couldn't have stolen FGs money, if he stole at all. The properties seized from ex state chief executives should have been given to the states from where they most likely get the loot from. |
I do not think the problem is really with the operatives of the DSS who are mere on errands. The problem is with the person with the power to dish out orders We had DSS during OBJ, Yaradua and Goodluck eras and the issue of disregard for court orders wasn't this flagrant. Not once was the hallowed courtroom desecrated. |
Emotions apart, we have seen instances when alleged criminals were rearrested upon filling fresh charges by the prosecuting agency, almost immediately after being granted bails. Whether that is illegal or immoral or both is for lawyers to argue. In recent times, the DSS has demonstrated little or no regards for the judiciary but the desecration of the hallowed courtroom and such open display of gansterism by the men of the DSS deserves condemnation by all. Who will rescue the judiciary? Certainly not the current NASS. Then WHO? Let those who pride themselves in flagrantly undermining the judiciary be aware that tables can turn when least expected |
He is surely going to fight it till the Supreme Court and as far as the law permits. My worry is just what the court says about the fund in contention. Is he going to make a refund to the government of Abia state? Or he will just serve the term and keep the loot? Methinks the law should not only stipulate a refund, the offender should also be made to pay interest of 20% per annum for the entire duration starting from when the money was looted and the day conviction was secured. |
... and what becomes of the stolen fund? |
In whatever guise it comes, natives will always resist any attempt to gift their lands to placate some people. First it was RUGA, then one Livestock program under the VP And now this. |
Anyone who has the means and the wherewithal to contest and win a governorship election in this Nigeria has to be a multimillionaire at the very least. If not for human unbridled greed, how can such a person after all the pecks of office and after taking the undisclosed and unaccounted security votes for at least 48 months still want to take life pensions from the meagre resources of the state? Thumps up SERAP. The next hurdle would be enforcement of the ruling. It will be swift for Saraki but can we really say the same thing for the person still under the protection of the broom? |
The first step to destabilizing a nation is blatant disregard to court orders and we know those who are notorious for this. God bless Nigeria. |
This might be a dangerous 'New Direction' for the administration. ... and before the brand (re)new(ed) chief executive vent his anger on the hapless civil servants, he should be reminded that a certain VP also lost his polling unit and is not being harassed for that. |
This is why the purported regulation of the social media and the archaic penalty seems an overkill. We already have laws to deal with originators and purveyors of fake news He who makes false, unsubstantiated, unguarded and defamatory statement about anyone should be dragged before competent courts of law and slammed with heavy damages like Atiku has done. This may be settled out of court eventually but a statement has been made by this action |
Congratulations to him. On the other hand, what has Messi done differently that Mikel and Taiye Taiwo didn't do seeing that they all shone brightly at the same youthful tournament same year. |
I have a conviction that some of these western countries deliberately looked the other way while alleged criminals circumvent their laws to launder so much money. When the money becomes huge, they come in and claim to have been making painstaking investigation eons of years ago and then they move for FORFEITURE of the illicit money to their government. Imagine forfeiting $13million to a foreign country at this moment. |
Best news of the day. Other states should not waste time to copy such |
These are the holes bleeding the scarce resources that deserve urgent laws to plug. It isn't just about Zamfara, almost all states have this anti-development laws ably passed by their assemblies at the behest of the Chief Executives. Wait till you hear pension for Lagos and Rivers States. Nigeria politicians are united in this irrespective of their party affiliation. You won't hear one party castigating the other on this. This is one of the areas where the Labour Unions are expected to be making agitations |
Those who pride themselves in disobeying court orders now should understand that table turns when least expected. |
It's long surrendered the day one arm handpicked the leaders of the other arm. Did we not see the newly elected deputy of one arm kneeling before the head of the other arm? |
A clear signal to Ganduje's Emirs. |
No one is indispensable after all. He could have been given higher responsibilities. It's Next Level |
Ok |
I suspect that the OP is deliberately setting the North up for bashing |
Our courtrooms aren't for decorations. The VP will do well to drag Mr. Adedayo to court for libel or whatever offence he has committed. |
This could be before the 2019 elections. I don't think they now see face to face |
Are they severely deformed that they can't be rehabilitated and empowered to vend for themselves? Edit : Good that it will last for six months. Any one if the beneficiaries caught begging after the rehabilitation should be prosecuted. |
Mr. Adeyanju should name and shame. He might be picked up soon too on the pretence of investigating the circumstances behind the 'bribery' Nothing is impossible |
... and the CEO of the state sat comfortably in this studio. |
Should this government mull any third term agenda, be sure that it will get it as the current NASS will most likely not raise much objection. |
Who approved the appointment of these Aides initially? Especially those SAs and SSAs on Niger Delta. |
Laolu Akande and his principal needs all the prayers they can get at this trying moment |
Mr. Laolu Akande, how do you spin this now? |
What if the Government designate certain filling stations close to the borders where residents can buy fuel to ease their pains. We can't just punish the people of border communities just because of the actions of some unscrupulous elements. Why then do we still have Custom Officers being paid to man our borders? A truck load of petroleum products is large enough not to have caught the attention the officers at the border post. |
