With the way the US takes down Iranian's Suleimani, I have no doubt that they could assist in flushing these terrorists out of our land. But the question is: at what cost? Until those who have turned these terrorism and counter terrorism into a money-spinning enterprise are identified and properly dealt with, we might chasing a mirage. |
Only those who know two or more things about the security lapses in the SouthWest are jittery anytime Amotekun is mentioned. |
Who else noticed that Garba Shehu has rested and the baton is passed to Adesina to do his bit. I'm surprised he didn't accuse Prof. Ango of being bitter because his oil block license is about to be withdrawn. So many people are complaining about the insecurity and poverty in the land. The NASS, The Sultan, The CAN, not to talk of regional bodies like Afenifere an the rest have all added their voices to condemn the current insecure state of the country yet all Femi could do is to position himself as an 'attack dog' to please his master. Does he think about posterity? Life after Buhari's Presidency? I hope he knows there was once an Abati. |
They shouldn't have waited for the sack. They ought to have resigned honorably. |
Uncle Femi must justify his pay. If he hasn't been a part of this administration, he likely would have been singing a different tune. He should enjoy the party while it lasts. |
Why didn't they counter all his claims with these 'incontrovertible' evidences while the case was still ongoing at the Supreme Court? |
It seems a good decision. Accurate and reliable data collection is a MUST if we're to be taken serious as a nation. Government should however make porting from one network to another more easier.. |
Just like that? No input from the NASS at all on how the recovered loot should be spent? |
Instead of demolishing this beautiful edifice, can't the government find an alternative use for it? |
fairfora:I'm afraid you may be right. |
Thank God that a major bloodshed was averted. He will be rehabilitated soon and be reintegrated back into the society. Then you wonder why we aren't winning this war yet. |
So many unresolved murder cases. Congratulations to him if he indeed knew nothing about the death of the slained politician. |
For the love of humanity, the Nigerians affected should please be patriotic to stay away from Nigeria at this moment. May they be healed. |
Dear Attorney General, would it not have been better if you had allowed the court to strike out the remaining two charges instead of having them withdrawn? As it is, your action has only given credence to the argument that the charges were withdrawn just so that he could step down for Lawan. |
HenryWilliams:True that. But then Lagos is still a state in Nigeria. So it is 'we'. Cheers. |
After all we handled Ebola But let's not overstretch our luck, Mr. Minister. Can we build a functional hospital within days? Please guard our borders. |

No surprises at all. That's how politicians roll in this part of the world. Awon zero integrity gang. No ideology whatsoever. Anywhere Belle face |
MelesZenawi:The bolded is the height of self deceit and moral high horse these people have projected themselves. Why are they always at the edges at the slightest crtitcism? How many times did El-Rufai, Lai and other popular opposition figures asked for Jonathan's resignation over insecurity? Sen. Abaribe, like any other is very much right to ask the president to resign in the face of his helplessness ( or 'surpriseness' ) in the hands of Boko Haram and bandits. I'm surprised why we keep saying Kanu jumped bail when everyone knew what happened at his home prior to his disappearance. Those that invaded his residence facilitated his escape and Abaribe wasn't part of them. |
Is the opinion of a senator now same as the stand of the entire Senate? Abaribe is entitled to his opinion though. |
Femi and Shehu should remember we once had Okupe and Abati doing the dirty works before. |
How much is the security vote sir? Who will monitor the voluntary forfeiture of the fund? But what's with our elected officials and white elephant projects that do not synchronize with the need of the people. How can a government approve the construction of 27 stadia in a state out of myriads of problems facing the state. |
The Speaker obviously did this to retain his seat. The only loyalty politicians have is to their ambitions One thing is certain, should Supreme Court reverses self ( which is unlikely) on the Imo,these men will still port back to PDP. |
Not when Lawan is still the choice of the Presidency and majority of those senators owe their seats to the Buhari Magic. |
The government that sacked the democratically elected LG chairmen is the one that actually encouraged the violent take over ( if any). The government of Oyo state should be solely held responsible for any breakdown of law in that state. This of course is not to excuse the mischief of the Ajimobi administration in conducting LG election at the twilight of his tenure. It is a landmine set for the incoming administration and Makinde should have navigated carefully so as not to run foul of the law. Until INEC conducts the LG elections alongside the governorship elections, we will still be dancing around in a circle. |
What happened/ is happening to trader's money? I thought that was meant also to touch lives. |
The PDP guy may be on his way to APC after the victory. With Nigerian politicians, all things are possible. |
We once had the once respected Reuben Abati. Who has heard from him lately? What about Doyin Okupe? I don't envy spokespersons of governments. They are constricted to see white and call it black even if it is against their conscience and faith. Femi and Garba will be okay las las. |
What a wicked world. This guy and Yemkem were the trail blazers in the tradomedical practices. May God forgive his shortcomings. |
It's really a tough situation he has found himself. One thing is certain, of this had not been a government he helped installed, he would have reacted differently. |
