GenBuhari: Serious question: Can we be sure that it is not treacherous or at the very least unconstitutional for a governor of a state of the Federal Republic to be making frequent libellous or negative comments about the person of the commander -in - chief of the Federal Republic? What of those who spoke even worse things about GEJ most of which were lies by the way...? |

Jdesilentkiller: So Wike, do you want to jettisone the progress of Rivers state because of your hatred for Ameachi??.why not complete it if its for the development of your state?? A good government review contracts that are bad and continue those that are good.....if Ameachi monorail is fraud why not review it and purnish any erring party....if its good, what stopping you from completing same. Your people's welfare should go beyond political affiliation.....or so I thought. Are you aware that the entire distance of that monorail in PH is not more than a 5min walk? The thing Ameachi spent $400m on is just a trek able distance.... it was useless from the beginning so why put more money in it? |
Politics › Re: I Won’t Touch Amaechi’s Rivers Monorail- Wike by lielbree: 7:26am On Mar 29, 2016 |
rottennaija: This man's talks senselessly. Is cross river States topography like Rivers state? Is their land as muddy as Rivers state? Why not probe the project to a certain where the money went? Was the scope of the monorail the same?
Are the designs and detail the same? Are they passing through land or did bridges needs to be built for them if they are crossing the road? These are issues you find out.
Rivers state needs another mode of transportation apart from road to curb their traffic issues. The population is growing faster than roads built. No amount of roads built can do that. This man should put politics aside and do what will eventually bring benefits to the people of rivers state.
Governance is about continuity. You don't abandon good project because you don't like the person that started it or because the person has stolen money meant for the project. Wike must have understood that when he offered himself as a governor's candidate in the election. If you feel that Amaechi looted the funds meant for the monorail project, then by all means necessary, probe him and probe the project. If money was taken or stolen, then ask for the money to be returned. Take him to court! Present your evidence and let him defend himself. Or isn't that what the federal government is doing?
But please, don't come to the social media to tell us you can't continue it, not because you don't know the economic benefits it has for the state but because someone has "stolen money" meant for it. Unless you want to let us believe it has no economic benefits. It shows a lack of vision on you as a leader otherwise, unless you don't know it's benefits to the state.
Pls keep quite! I didn't need to read more than the first paragraph to know you are not from rivers state! Who told you that were the monorail is currently situated is swampy or muddy? What sort of malicious lie against the people of rivers state is this? Pls face your state! |

Toks2008: It is no longer news that tradition is the opium of the people and no one is contending that.
But when it comes to marriage, while some believe that without paying of bride price, the man can not be said to be married to a lady and some believe that without the white wedding,a marriage can not be said to have received GOD's blessings.
Well i'm not here to discus on that aspect of marriage and i had to drop this quick one as a result of the mentioned i got on a thread relating to this.
I am not sorry to write this...
Any married lady who never had a legal wedding otherwise called Court or registry wedding is as good as single.Quote me anywhere in the world.
And this is very true for some reasons but i will mention a few.
1. He can not just wake up one day and say he does not like your face again and send you out of your matrimonial home. 2. He dares not marry another wife except he divorces you 3. He must have a valid reason for divorcing you and must be able to convince the court. 4. You have protection under the law for yourself and your child(ren) in case he dies
I can continue to list several other reasons but let me just stop here.If you like, say you trust your husband,he loves you,he can never treat you bad..O.Y.O lo wa.
If you like let the man spend 1billion on your traditional wedding and do a white, blue, green, indigo wedding with a trillion naira. The fact is that these two ceremonies combined with all the money spent is not as binding and constitutional as a simple court wedding with just 4 people in attendance.
Unfortunately we have seen many people getting away with bad acts despite the fact that they had a legal wedding but the reason is because the affected individual usually lets go without putting up a fight due to high cost of legal battle and no thanks to parents and family members who always preach to them that "what is yours will always stay with you" and that they should let go which i see as stories for the gods.
Ladies be wise..as an endangered specie in the cruel world of men, legal wedding was specifically created to protect more of the lady's marital right so take advantage of it or ignore at your own risk.
I will stop here. I agree with you. That's why I love the Anglican church. They give u certificate to register in the court so once you wed in an Anglican church, you don't have to do court marriage again. To our single ladies. She who has ear let her hear... |

The name of Jesus has been tingling their ear drums and the kindness of the mission without rape softened their hearts... plus the freedom to weave and show their hair as it should be without religious suppression or oppression. Well said bro. No one forces anyone into Christianity but when a person see the light the true light which is Jesus, you can't help but to follow Him. |

tuale4u: APC lost because of only one thing, d sentiments of GEJ loss. Majority are still bitter. That bitterness over GEJ loss is d reason rivers people wont Even Vote Apostle Paul as APC candidate but will vote Herod as PDP candidate. That's the same reason why a retar.d like by buhari won. Northern sentiment. Nigeria is too deeply divided to be one nation. |
