oladiddy:What worked for me might not work for you. So this is my story, My wife started such, always shouting, going crazy like a mad market woman on a daily basis, I swear, we dated for 3 years before marriage and for once I never saw such. I tried to stop arguing or exchanging words with her, started buying random gifts here and there, but these acts were very temporary, as the effect last not up to 4 hours and she starts again. I was really frustrated, I didn't want to report to anyone as our marriage was new. But then out of frustration, I didn't know when I changed it for her, I started my own madness, anytime she starts, I will just start behaving like a tout, and later leave straight to the nearest hotel. On the first time, I stayed there for 3 days. I dropped no money at home while I was staying at the hotel, if she calls I will pick. When she starts ranting of not droppping money at home, I told her I used the money to pay for hotel accommodation. After, the second night, she starts pleading I come home that she has changed. I stayed one more day, returned home. This calmed her down for near a week or so and she started again. I repeated same, this time she had to report me to our parents and hers too. They called I told them straight that they should inform her that if she doesn't behave, next one I will leave the house for her. On my return, the second time, I now carry problem come and totally changed it, I started shouting and behaving like a tout why she should report me, I did the shouting for days. Till she now resolved that she has finally changed and started advising me that I shouldn't behave that way since I am older than her and the man of the house and should be the one advising and calming her down. She really changed this time, since then when there is an issue, even if we don't agree, she argues and get angry like a normal human being without that rascal shouting and all. Peace have returned for the time and everybody is happy again. But in any case, I have resolved to look for another accommodation if she continues. Not sure what will work for you, try a bit the hard way and see if it solves the problem. You really have to fight for your peace. If the hard way doesn't resolve the problem, then true true she is tired of the marriage, just find your way. Leave your daughter with her, she would always be fine. |

Mancrossfire:Search for the story on google, na the guy man wan divorce oo, he even wants to leave the 'known' properties for the old wife but the old wife no gree, say they must marry. From the old-wife's account, the man is really loaded with cash which HE the man short-changed her from. So now the man wants to enjoy all the money with a new wife, but the wife doesn't want it to go down without a fight. |
Femi8586:The man do not seem to be a SIMP by any standard. He is a 'WOMANIS*R', looks like the woman too. He is really loaded with cash and properties. I think he wants to leave the 'known' properties for the 'old' wife and kids. He just want to enjoy his loot with a new wife, shikena. Also, na the guy man dey file for divorce but the old-wife is saying he rather dies than marry a new wife. |
ayatt:I have read the woman's story, all I can say is that the man is not a SIMPle man instead an Alpha male by nairaland standards. I feel the guy is really loaded with cash, he wants to quietly leave the known properties to the wife and enjoy his loot with a new 'tear-rubber woman'. |
* If you and your girlfiend no chop 'MISHAI' at night infront of SUB canteen. Lol What of JIVES? e still dey? |
We fit ourselves in this country. His reasons translated: We cannot efficiently control ordinary smuggling of petroleum to neighbouring countries but to stop the smuggling we can increase the price (remove subsidy) for Nigerians and citizens of other countries, with that smuggling is controlled. Subsidy money enters the hand of few Nigerians, as if they remove the subsidy the money will not still be in the hands on other set of few Nigerians. He is now for subsidy removal, a stand he was vehemently against few years back, because he feels he is in power now and will be among the new set of the few the money will come to. We really fit ourselves in this Nigeria. |
Mrporanir:Haha the problem is not that he is broke, what you should ask yourself is if your broke, you get back up? He could raise 150 million in one day non repayable from non-family members, online for that matter, with the flimsy reason that he wants to clear his RR. You fit? So he is not really broke, as he get where to always get from. |
There is no general advice for this issue, it's really personal depending on your circumstances. My analysis, if you really need money to survive, i.e your family is not buoyant enough to support you assuming you are not paid salary for 2 or 3 months. I will advise you to forget about the audit Job and quietly take the teller Job, as your salary is guaranteed with them. Even as a teller, if you want to improve yourself you can, so far you have extra money to spend for weekend courses. If your family balance well, forget teller job and look for better opportunity. Tellers, get at least a total of 10k tip in a month depending on your branch, this normally solve their transportation and lunch problems. These days, most tellers have business where they employ people to work for them. More hardworking ones have a lot of branches even. I won't mention the business, if you enter the system you will see for yourself. THOSE WHO KNOW THE BUSINESS SHOULD AVOID MENTIONING IT HERE, SO AS NOT TO PUT THEM IN TROUBLE. If you work in an audit firm depending on how reputable it is, you will learn more, perhaps have more time and more opportunities than the teller to improve yourself but expect to be owed salary. If you and your family really needs money and you can't imagine being owed for 2 or 3 months, respect yourself oo. Na person wey see food chop dey talk of career growth make your shoe no go bend one side from trekking. Both jobs have similar disadvantages, which is expect insults from the higher ranked staff. so this should not be considered. Analyze your background and choose which is better for you. |
officialmario:This one is not a problem na, just let her know only things she WANTS and LIKES to know. Forget nollywood scenes now and secure your happiness in your home. |
officialmario:This is not a problem, majority of the ladies are that selfish, greedy and clingy. But then the solution is very simple, stop telling her and let her know what you do for your family, let her know only things she wants and likes to know. You can just once in a while say like you recharged your mum's phone with 1000 naira credit and that is it. I guess you just got married and still trying to understand your wife. |

The only reason I advise students about to go for their PhD, to choose established Professors at the peak of their career, so they don't have to drag first authorship and other irrelevant academic politics with their supervisors. I had one and I am happy I did. It paved 'way' for me. |

ivolt:I really had a nice guy as a PhD supervisor. I remember my first ever first author publication, I was a PhD student (so not a staff of the University). The topic was given to me by my supervisor (idea his), he guided me on what and what calculations to do, he followed me up. So I was only doing the calculations and reporting to him. He drafted the manuscript, I prepared some figures which he later totally changed. I was the first author of the publication, his name was the last+corresponding author, another Professor and senior researcher who were part of the discussions were also authors in the paper. This is how it should be. Stop treating young researchers and students badly. Yes the student cannot draft up and submit the article on his own, that is why there is a supervisor. Even though the idea of the work was yours, but no one forced you to accept the student, you should have been independent and do the so called 'grunt' work yourself and publish yourself. It is academically unethical (check meaning of unethical as you were asking where the rules are written) if a student principally did the so called 'grunt =(lab/field/computer)' work under your supervision and he/she gets 'shortchanged'. Saying the University needs a staff bla bla, can be sorted out with email correspondence in the article and is not enough reason for the student who did the 'grunt' work not to be the first author. We all know publications are not just about doing the lab work, more time is spent on writing, editing and analysing results and going through the publication review process which actually is the work of the supervisor for a 'fresh' student. But then these are not enough reasons to shortchange students. Stop academic maltreatment. |
deadie:Don't be proud of doing the wrong thing, that you are based in Germany doesn't make it right. It's unethical, your student's name should come as first author and yours as last author/corresponding author even if you drafted the manuscript, so far your students primarily carried out the research. Even ethics also demand you should even add the students email as corresponding author. With that it is a win-win for all, both yourself and the student. You don't lose anything by doing the above, the student do not lose anything also and everyone is happy. |
hilltop007:It's not ethical on the part of your supervisor. I know many Nigerian lecturers do this. I guess you are still a novice in the publishing world and you can't go about it on your own. Allow him to publish it so far your name appears on it as one of the authors. It's also a very big win for you, like a very big win than not publishing it at all. |
I think the sentence was light, since it looks like the family members of the deceased were involved in the withdrawal. So the actual offence was instead of going through official means to withdraw the money, they went through the back door, which is bribing a bank teller to transfer the cash to them. I think another distrust staff in the bank or family member, who lost out in the deal reported the transaction. Ordinarily the bank won't know this transfer happened. |
I think it depends on what one can tolerate and the importance (value) of the concerned person in your life. Early this year, I went completely blank on one of my tight friends of over 7 years because I travelled and he was flirting with my wife, writing to her all sorts of flirtatious names and the one that broke the Carmel's back, is asking to visit her (inter-state) so they can 'flex'. At the same time he was in my whatsapp chat asking that I lend him some money (this is normal as he always borrowed and paid back). I was about to tell him I will make a transfer asap before a chat from my wife with the screenshot of his chats entered my phone and I started to wonder if the money was for flexing my wife. And he knows my schedule and how I have been out of town. This is a friend since we left school he never travelled to my state to visit me, I am the one always going to visit him, sometimes I go with my wife. Now, he wants to travel to my state when I am not there and flex my wife, aside all the flirtatious chats he has been sending. I ignored his chats and calls, he sent a voice note that I am ignoring because he is asking for money and needs help as if it's the first time he asked. i didn't reply either. At a point I felt I reacted harshly, I asked one of our mutual friends sharing the chat, but he was really shocked as well. |
The only way they can pick a pastor up and sack him, it's just because they didn't invest heavily in training them. The only place where the Catholic church gets it right, they train you and ordain you a priest and you are with them forever unless say na u decide to leave. They post you to a parish and you are not performing, they reassign you to assist a priest in another parish who is performing to learn the ropes. They try you again and still you are not performing, they reassign you, till you get it right. How can a church throw one of their own under the bus like that, where is the morality? and some people are defending this particular act. |

doyinisaac:No I think it's more or less same feeling. We are humans, imagine you have a pally pally, you have been telling him how you are in love with a girl and want her badly, but sadly for you the girl didn't agree to your advances and you let that slide, but then you now get to know that this your pally pally is now dating this same girl you have been wanting and discussing with him that rejected you. So you are telling me that everything and your friendship will still be the same with your Pally from your end. Imagine hanging out with your Pally and he has to come along with his girlfriend who rejected your advances. Omo tell yourself the truth oo. Even if you are so mature and god-like, you will still have 1 or 2 reservations about your Pally after that. |
I think you did nothing wrong, you are human after all and no god. I also kept distance to a once close-friend and childhood friend because he started dating my ex. He knew my ex through me, we separated and you started dating her and still want to be friends with me. Like we arrange for beer sessions and you come with my ex who is your girlfriend, is he mad ? LOL. Lol, I told him, guy I no get anything against you but we can't be friends while you date my ex, to avoid unnecessary drama. which style be that. LOL |
I was thinking same Mmaduka is a Catholic but then I just heard he is a pentecostal. To be a Catholic or Anglican really matters a lot in Anambra, those at the grass-root know this but you won't see people saying this on social media. Pdp denied him the ticket and put him far behind to avoid court cases because of this, all the parties know that being a Catholic or Anglican is the first criteria to win election in Anambra. So Soludo who I think is a Catholic, Pdp has to put up the best Catholic candidate to fight Soludo. |
Ikinternational:I was thinking same too about Mmaduka, but then I just heard he is a pentecostal was thinking he is a Catholic, not Catholic nor Anglican. This really matters a lot in Anambra, those at the grass-root know this but you won't see people saying this on social media. Pdp denied him the ticket and put him far behind to avoid court cases because of this, all the parties know that being a Catholica or Anglican is the first criteria to win election in Anambra. |
The election is between Soludo and Maduka. Anambra politicians should know that there is no space for any 'career politician' at the govt. house, they have learnt their lessons. They should continue with their Senate, federal and state house of reps. bla bla bla. Moreover, there is another untold but underlying factor in Anambra politics 'which of the christian denomination do you publicly align with or attend'. In anambra, people are mostly Catholics or Anglicans. Other denominations are really in the minority. So if you nobi Catholic or Anglican, omo save your money ooo especially if there is a Catholic or Anglican contesting with you. Anyway, political parties know this. |
Which kind of wickedness is this, nawa oo. |
I think they won't do anything to Orji Uzo Kalu while Hope Uzodinmma is still a governor. The supreme court has refused to revisit Hope's case, citing that it can't counter judge itself. I guess they will hold on that, if they do otherwirse, then people will start agitating they revisit Hope's case. |
update Abi Buhari wave don reach your-side ![]() |
OtemAtum:I think they actually know the right and straightforward thing to do, but then corruption won't allow them as these stupid rules create avenues that enable them to be able to steal more. |
Let's be realistic, someone's salary is 20k and you give him goat of 30k to feed a lion, what do you expect? Person never chop,na lion wan chop Your guess is as good as mine. Naija don scatter, e go hard to resurrect this country. |
