ProgrammingWill All Our JS Skills Become Useless by LikeAking(op): 4:24pm On Jun 13, 2022
I observed what ever JS skill one has acquired is likely going to be a waste, when u about learning React.

So all the V-JS and J Query skills will just waste like that?

Why are React code longer? A library surpose elp us write shorter or even no code .

Why is React like this?

How did you guys overcome this temptation?

You dont need to be amongst the top 5 percent to command such a salary. You can be a mediocre dev and get such high salaries. The skills to interview as a software engineer and the skills to actually be a good software engineer are two opposite ends of the spectrum. If you spend the time studying for interviews you will be able to get such salary but if you spend the time learning to be a good programmer you will be a good programmer but you will never make it into any of the companies paying such salaries. If you check that guys leetcode profile he might have solved every question there and probably just revises them whenever he has interviews.

Probably someone like alex wice https://leetcode.com/awice/. He has solved almost everything there and doesnt stay too long at any job. He earns more than a million dollars a year.
Guy u are smart. No be by learning he to code, na by been smart to pass their shitty interviews. S reason they now rely on projects.

You are blaming God for not saving u at the time of need, but from your write up God saved you but you did not see it because you were blinded.

You went to your pastor to borrow money but they rejected you, borrow oh not give I am emphasising, you were not given, but you posted it on Nairaland and out of divine providence someone you did not know from Adam paid your hospital bill and even asked you to keep the change and you still do not see the hand of God in this, just because you were blinded.

Yes you have gifts, u can hear or commune with spirits or whatever but the Bible made us to understand that this are lesser beings, lesser beings do not solve problems they predict with the information available to them. Just like the case of Jesus, from information available to the devil he decided the best course of action was to kill Jesus, not knowing it was his death that would bring eternal life to mankind. What you have yielded yourself to are lesser spirits in the hierarchy of spiritism/spirituality. You took the easiest way out, when God was still training you. Spirits be telling you you were designed to serve them where they the one that created you.

For your friend you went to meet to deliver you that was wrong, very wrong, it would not work why because you really needed no deliverance, even if you did as you were passing through the challenges, I mean spiritual challenges, what you would have done was to meet the pastor in charge of your zone to explain to him, why because that is were you are planted as a Christian and you receive your food from, they would have figured it out with you.

I have a lot to type but let me just summarise by saying this your church owe you nothing, but God owed you everything because of his promises, the Bible said we should call on him in times of need not call on your church, you were under training from God and you just left it because of your unbelief. You would have become a great Man of God in the future but you settled for peanuts.

The truth is that, your body is telling you, you made the wrong decision, hence the reason for this thread.I were you the first thing I will do is to rededicate your life to God not to your church, look for another church with a strong Bible school, explain everything to them, ask to attend their Bible school because it is obvious you know nothing concerning the Bible may know the letters as a pastor but ( the letter kills, but it is the spirit that gives life). And seek the face of God.

Peace be onto you brother
Rest!

dont scold him?
Christianity EtcRe: Why I Resigned From My Job As A Pastor In Winners Chapel And Became A Babalawo by LikeAking: 7:12am On Jun 03, 2022
Beosten:
In my formative years, we were three fiery brothers practising Christianity in Iwo town -- two of us very poor, but with strange will to survive. After secondary education and with nothing to live for, first among us was a talented beggar. As the second guy, my mother is late, and my father's whereabout was unknown. So, the first guy and I were living in one of the three houses I knew belonged to the father of the 3rd guy, but the father didn't care about the 3rd guy, though. The first guy is a genius in gathering monies through request for "urgent 2k" -- we lived on this for years.

Miraculously, I and the 3rd guy obtained degrees in science and administration respectively; the first guy obtained a degree in theology and became the chaplain of a university Chapel.

But those days as a fiery Christian, I lost 40% of my hearing. The last time I visited the first guy of a chaplain, he needed me to source urgent 5k for him. Just this morning, the 3rd guy called me that he has bone fractures and is receiving treatment at the Ogbomosho general hospital. He needs money at least for feeding, but none is forthcoming. Let me add that the first guy is in Baptist, I was in Winners Chapel while the 3rd guy is a Mountain of Fire adherent.

Then I joined the ministry in Winners Chapel. Oratory is still my best physical gift -- those in Winners Chapel Adeeke, Iwo in 2005 will remember me by the name Yinka. I had studied the scriptures from "paali to paali"; prayer sessions I handled those days looked like wartime events. While in the university, I was sent to pastor a new church in another town and did so successfully. But when I started full-time ministry, what you would usually call hosts of hell came banging at my door. They would tell me what would happen the following day and they would come to pass. They would tell me Mr A was at my door while I was still sleeping by 6:30am and that would be so.

Later, those spirits told me why I am on earth, and if I neglect my path, I would regret being born. They said I'm a Babalawo by design. I quickly went on overdrive binding "thoughts that may setup their selves against God's knowledge and every disobedience..." Then I would hear strange laughter of a group of persons suggesting the spirits were many. Then I traveled to see a primary school mate who is making waves as a general overseer of a church. All his prayers or deliverance made no difference.

Then voices started threatening me and commanded me to go to a village whose name I never heard hitherto saying that someone is waiting for me there. I googled the name of the town and I found it. I went there because previous messages didn't fail. I met the person and the priestess gave a stern warning that refusing to work for the gods would be a deadly decision. I accepted the calling right away.

But divination is not that easy to learn. I know someone who spent eight years on it. I became a pro within five months by some rare twists of events and within nine months, I became a full-blown Babalawo.

I'm tempted to say that Christians practice something different from what the Bible taught me. In 2020, my daughter was on life support at Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomosho. The bills were clearly beyond what my 50k salary could handle. I requested for help from the church hierarchy by calling the district pastor, and he said I should follow a correct route in channelling my request. I replied that I first of all called the area pastor who directed me and gave me his number to call. The district pastor started sounding offensive. That was why I came to nairaland and made a thread for help.

https://www.nairaland.com/5637056/meconium-aspiration-syndrome-baby

A nairalander sent a huge amount of money to me in the following thread to clear hospital bills.

https://www.nairaland.com/5641659/leave-patient-hospital-because-lack#86385594

I tendered a resignation letter in Winners Chapel in 2021 with two weeks notice. Before the notice elapsed and till today, I never heard anything from them about my resignation. But when the district church mistakenly paid a sum of money into my bank account after I had left (that money ought to be sent to the current pastor of the church) I told the accountant and he asked me to refund it immediately. While working there, I never had any history of misconduct. They treated me as though I never existed; that action reduced me to a new low, lower than the basest of animals...

The following advice is indispensable: life is not all about money; you're here on a certain assignment.

ProgrammingRe: I Want To Go Into Tech; What Field Should I Choose? by LikeAking: 11:14pm On May 31, 2022
TechLiberatedMe:
Hello Tech Seniors,

I graduated from the University about a decade ago and I'm currently in my early thirties.

I did not study Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics or other Math-related courses. My mathematical prowess is fair.

I made up my mind to go into Tech because I did an appraisal of my journey since I finished NYSC and realised I would have been very fulfilled if I ventured into Tech since then. The last one year has been terrible for me. I started thinking about Tech since late last year. I recently came across one or two threads where Tech guys gave testimonies and their comments gave me hope that Tech would change my life and my story.

I feel that I would even regret more in the next 10 years if I don't start something in Tech NOW! Tech is both the present and the future.

I have come to a conclusion that one can hardly regret ever going into Tech.

I got to know that there are several fields of Tech one can specialise in. I also got to know that some people started in one field and later dropped it for another field because they realised the first one was not for them.

I also hear that some people are in Tech but their foundation is faulty.

How do I know the aspect of Tech I will enjoy and at the same time excel in? Kindly guide me in every ways you can. I am coming late already and there is no time for me to gamble or do trial an error unlike a 16-year-old Jambite.

The following might be helpful in helping me make a decision:

1. I love to solve problems. In fact, solving problems gives me so much joy. There are times I skip sleep just because I want to find solution to a particular problem.

2. I love it when I am the staff/individual that got it done.

3. I am competitive (healthy competition). I love to look at people that are better than me and try to become as good as or better than them. I always believe that I can do it since they could also do it.

4. I love a career that pays very well even if not the best. As a result of this, I might be tempted to want to switch to a Tech career that has the best prospects and pays the highest. In that case, maybe it'd be advisable I start a career in that aspect I would eventually be tempted to port to.

5. Kindly also say something about Tech careers that thrive in the UK, US or Canada because one might have a cause to relocate in the future.

I look forward to reading from the seasoned and incisive Tech Seniors.

Thank you.

Hi guys, I'm a self taught Frontend developer and I need tips on ways I can monetize this skill. I am proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, NextJS and Tailwind.

My initial plan when I started learning to code was to make money with freelancing. I'm approaching a year on upwork and I have not made one dollar. I also tried fiverr with no luck. I recently started applying for frontend roles at companies but I also have no luck with those. I keep getting rejection emails regularly.

I would like advice on how I can make money with this skill. I'm a student and i've invested a lot of time and money into learning this. This situation is becoming very frustrating.

Please give me tips on how I can earn some money with this skill.
I have a feeling that upwork dey intentionally dull person, or dia are no jobs dia.

One banker told me that with the sort of money in this country, if politicians were working with just 10%, that this country would be competing with Europe.
With the hype around Peter Obi, there has been two questions in my mind. If he is as good as people say, why isn't Anambra close to becoming like Europe? Granted, a few times I have passed through the state, it does seem to have the best road network when compared to any other state I've been to. But in terms of massive development, I haven't noted that it is fantastically different from any other Nigerian state.

Furthermore, Peter Obi doesn't seem to have the will to fight. How can he stop the vultures bleeding the country dry if he couldn't even fight the PDP crooked politicians to a standstill? Unless there's something I'm missing, the odds against Peter in his quest to make Nigeria a working country is too high. It may just be just it - hype, since the negro race has not been known to know how to get things done. Peter may just be any other Nigerian politician, after all, Buhari was once a messiah you all were waiting for.

RomanceRe: How A Feminist Overpowered Me by LikeAking: 11:04pm On May 27, 2022
mrrandomguy:
We met over two years ago and began dating. It was not easy at first because of religious and ethnic differences. She is also bossy and independent which turned me off initially. I have shared my experience here before.

Soon after we began dating, I realised that almost all the women around her are like that. They control their husbands, boyfriends, brothers etc and boss them around, which is strange in Islam.

Later on, I realised that she belongs to certain women empowerment group which includes all kinds of women, young and old, from all walks of life.

I soon realised that it was a feminist group when I mistakenly saw their constitution. I saw different 'women' books on her laptop. I checked her browsing history and was shocked. I saw blogs and websites teaching women on how to control any man and make him feel he is in charge, how to domesticate a man, how tame a man, etc.

I decided to confront her, then I ended the relationship. She didn't even beg me.

Her aunt got to know about what transpired much later. She called to lecture me on feminism, what it stands for, etc. She then asked me to come see her at home. Getting there, I met my ex. They have planned the meeting. Her mother and one other lady was also there. They talked to me for some minutes and said I should beg her. I refused. Suddenly, her mum shouted at me to kneel and apologize to her. I bacame afraid so I knelt and begged her. Her aunt now said I must date her neice, and that I have to comply with certain rules. They ordered her to take me to a room. One thing led to another and we had sex. That was how we reconciled and continued with the relationship. I liked her more and more each day.

Early this year, she said we should take our relationship to the next level, that she wants to be in charge of certain things.

Firstly she said she wanted to move in with me. I couldn't refuse.

The second thing is my income and spending decisions. She said women are better money managers. She said I should sell my land and give her the money. I did, but when I asked her what she wanted to do with the proceeds she told me I shouldn't worry. The next thing I saw was a car. I never thought of buying one for myself. According to her, she need to be mobile when she gets pregnant, although we are still believing God.

I wanted a joint account but she decided against it. So I made a standing order at my bank for the amount equal to my salary to be transferred to her personal account. I do the transfers before, but sometimes I forget and she gets angry. She even ordered me to change the phone number for receiving alerts to her number which I did today. There is now peace in the house and I am really happy.

I cook and clean occasionally. She said I cook better than her and that it will be better for us if I cook more often.

I wanted us to make the relationship formal but she said marriage is overrated and that we should continue cohabiting. I fought against it but she won as usual. She is really intelligent. We are now thinking of having our babies outside wedlock.

We are both gainfully employed, we work in the same establishment but at different units. She is also a public speaker and have concluded masterclasses in mentoring, writing and content creation.

She said that I may have to resign and stay at home fully when her feminist activism and writing career starts paying-off. I don't have any excuse not to obey her because I must support her, afterall she is good at what she does.

Now, I don't have much say in how the relationship is run, even financially as she can access my money whenever she wants to.

She pays most bills from her phone. But what annoyed me most was the downgrading of our DStv bouquet. I can no longer watch certain channels. I complained about it but she said those programs don't add value to men. I agreed with her.

I cannot contact my family members without her being present. Whenever I do, I always make sure to delete them from my chats and call logs because she will check. She gave reasons, supported with bible passages on why a man must leave his family and cleave to his wife. I was surprised she knew those verses despite her being a Muslim. She told me they talked about many things in their women's meeting.

She has done many things in my life. I am really grateful to have met a lady like her.

Thanks to her aunt, mother and all nairaland feminists like FERNANDEZISBACK, Islandlady, siofra, Candidlady, etc. I have finally realised why I should let a woman take over and control me.
If this story is true, I blame your parents.
