Being an introvert is quite interesting enough for me. Although it has its good days and bad days.
Many ladies tend to hang around me even though I find it odd. They all say and I quote, "We like your introvertedness".
Some other people (most especially the guys) think I'm weak, non challant and even womanly (no offence to the feminists)..
But the striking thing for me is, most of the friends I have now have been there from day one. And also the friendship groups I left behind (especially from secondary school), they all keep saying that I was the bond that held us together

me too all my real friends r my secondary school friend, I got normal acquaintances, hi hello people but My secondary school friends r the only people that get me , I went to a boarding school , imagine how much we know each other. I can relate to that bond part totally , u hardly hv issues with any of them , and u are listening ear to everybody, who they know u won’t judge or hv the energy to gossip

Sis, I’m talking about chronic anxiety that can be debilitating and lead to irrational thoughts like suicide and fears all the time that interferes with your life everyday. It’s not your regular anxiety of giving a presentation or worrying about when you can pay the next bills. I’m talking about the one that leads to self harm, ghosting people for weeks. LOL extroverts can’t go a week being depressed, they can get over it within two days because they can’t be alone for two long in isolation. Everyone is different quite frankly, but I think that Most introverts find it hard to express themselves or rather what they are feeling at the moment, that’s why introverts have small circle of people they can talk to that understand them or sometimes be in our inner world and figure it out, but Extroverts will always get feedback from everybody.

Also the self-esteem part is really part of that inner thought that comes during the depression, it won’t go away, especially if one has been through some experiences that has to do with body image, it’s hard to fight it too. All these is a process and most people still go through this but they try to hide it or deal with it.

Also, lol don’t make this about me, I’m just sharing my opinion based on my own part and other people in general. I’m not depressed anymore like I used to be . Thanks tho.

when I was in primary school people use to call me fat, make fun of me , I was really a sad little girl back then ,, took me years to overcome it , I totally got over it when I realized men were into me. Started loving myself , got into Instagram and had likes . That really boosted my self esteem.

I speak in public eloquently, I have been praised for that on several occasions. My course mates ask me to tutor them for presentations, I write poems, other literary works and also perform slam poetry. I perform at National events and other well populated shows.
I am an introvert
I comfortably talk to strangers when they need help and also when I need to.
I would rather stay home, write, read, talk to myself in a play, dance, sip on wine than go at the club (in the hope of enjoying myself) because the truth is, I can go at the club, talk to strangers, laugh, dance but I won't be truly happy because that is just not me!! I'd rather have a friend than have dozens I won't really be committed to and my best friend happens to be an extrovert, an Aries for that matter when I am a Libra..very opposite, but with self-discipline and self-development we both understand each other very well and complement each other well..
I am an introvert, I am very approachable, I smile alot, I don't enjoy 'small talks' but will smile and nod just to make others feel comfortable...
As an introvert I have first of all learnt to accept that I am a human being, I feel, I learn, I grow, I make mistakes, I live but all on my own unique terms and if these terms happens to be labeled introverted, Great!!

I have gone through the last three pages of this thread and I feel pained at some things a few people are sharing here. It sincerely shocks me that a lot of people don't care to study and research things properly. I have seen the wrongest things termed as introversion on this thread and it's painful because it is simply not true.

For the sake of the many silent readers who follow this thread to learn, I think it's best you go to the earlier parts of this thread where people shared correct information about introversion so you don't get misguided by the many fallacies and labels I have seen in recent posts.

This is a public forum where personal opinions can be shared, no harm in doing so. But it is very sad to see people share those erroneous opinions as 'supposed facts' when there's a gazillion data supported by science and experiments available online and offline.

Shout out to Juell for trying to speak the truth though it wasn't well understood anyway.

This is the first time am seeing a introvert thread and I thought it will be a place where introvert will actually interact, discuss , be free with themselves, make jokes . Cause there are introverts who r very funny. The fact u don’t speak as an introvert doesn’t mean u don’t hv beautiful personalities inside you, invest on that try to be the best of urself n trust me friends will come along , people will love being around you .

I know most of you are young graduated without experience and undergraduates still seeing lecturers as demigods, they are broke, without being prideful, I can pay 2 lecturers comfortably every month, that is to tell you how broke they are and how vital your PhD is


A HND holder working with NLNG or Mobil or shell will pay 3 lecturers, so get that into your head Lilian

you see , we hv different aspirations in life , not everyone wants what u want , broke is relative, broke to you may not be broke to me , and their achievements and personality beats any oil company worker a million times , everybody will not be rich , but people can achieve their dreams, be average, and happy . Is like saying because there is no much money in lawyering people shouldn’t be lawyers any more .
