Phones / Samsung A20s Issues by Limassol(m): 6:43pm On Apr 07, 2023
I've got this phone - Samsung a20s for a while now and there is something it does frequently that seriously annoys me; the phone crashes apps like chrome and play store just like that or won't open the app unless I reboot it.

Please anyone know how I can fix this?

Did u guys notice that the richest man in ur Street/lga/state all made their money in NIG? U will never see any londoner or Americana among them, nig isn't that bad if u look at it from diff angle

Why would someone (Nigerian or otherwise) who made their money in another country live in Nigeria?

Probably, you think Nigeria is all that is on this planet.

But everything suggests there are lots of countries here in Africa doing way better than this country on almost every development index.

Of course , it ain't entirely bad as the country obviously isn't not the worst on earth but living in Nigeria is increasingly becoming frustratingly hard and tough.

With the recent news that dollars is going to be deemphasized and might probably lose values, I'm beginning to think twice about my relocation move. My uncle that recently came back from the US gave me $5000 to do business and I initially thought about using this money to move abroad.

I'm not like an average Nigerian who get carried away with "there are good road and 99hr power supply abroad". When I travel, I'm going there to go and make money not to count ceiling and take hot picture for the Instagram and to pepper people at home.

If dollars get decentralized and $1 = about #250, thouh this development will not go well with people abroad since they'll have fear that the little they send home will no longer be able to surprise anyone, and their usual conversion strategy will no longer work. But on the other hand, this move will help people in Nigeria as there won't be that much of a difference between someone earning #500,000 in Nigeria and the one earning $3000 abroad

$ will be "decentralised"? Are you dreaming?

Which source did you read that from?

Why is CBN just deciding to release more funds now despite knowing the hardship Nigerians have been going through. What exactly has the cash policy even achieved?
A completely ill-thought out, misplaced and badly-timed policy. A moment of pity for the millions of Nigerians who were at the receiving end of this silly experiment.

Give the tool just two years. Either it takes half of your job roles or it replaces you completely. Just give it some time. While you are sleeping, it is constantly learning.
This is a sweet take! I think gpt 5 will be released before the end of this year( incase you were'nt aware gpt-4 was released a few days ago and it's utterly mind-blowing).

Business / Re: Are People Using Old Naira Notes In Your Area? by Limassol(m): 12:00pm On Mar 05, 2023
uchennamani:

Nobody wants to collect money he would have problem spending. Also, the volume of old money is circulation is virtually gone. The very few ones are in the hands of politicia They can exchange it with the new notes as nobody would want to collect it. You won't because you don't want to stress yourself when you spend it.

The implication of this is simple: The old notes will co-exist with the new notes till December 2023. The old notes are virtually not in circulation and the CBN won't push them back, so the currency that is available for transaction are the new notes.
I wonder why some people like you have this mistaken belief that some of our politicians have bulk of old money kept somewhere. This is boderline absurd. Look, the typical Nigerian elite (politician or not) see the Naira as tissue paper. Their money is almost always in USD (or any other valuable currency), that's if it's cash, mostly it's in their bank accounts.
Business / Re: Are People Using Old Naira Notes In Your Area? by Limassol(m): 11:46am On Mar 05, 2023
SmartyPants:
There is a process. The Supreme Court judgment is between the parties that went to Court, which are the governors and the FG. Now, naira restriction is between the CBN and the FG.

So the FG, not the CBN, is to comply by instructing the CBN to discontinue the policy. Then the CBN will instruct the banks.

All of this will play out by Monday to Tuesday.
You genuinely belive this so-called proccess? You think this whole thing wasn't carefully designed to serve a purpose? Spoiler: it has.

Possibly, but not totally nonsensical.
A Rivers state politician was arrested a day prior to election with $500k in cash in his car, with names of potential recipents. Why subject Nigerians to needless hardship when the very people whom the new measure was meant to target treat the Naira as a tissue paper? Think about this carefully. Connect the dots and you will realize how absurd the whole policy was.

The aim of changing the currency was not defeated.

Because if Tinubu was able to buy votes, obi won't even have a case, because many people would have sold their votes.

But Tinubu decided to buy over Inec on impromptu that they they didn't even got enough time to plan out their rigging strategy.

This election is the most botched rigging in the history of Nigeria, evidences everywhere.

Buhari has tried his best.

The whole excuse of "vote buying" as a rationale for the cash crunch was nonsensical.

Hmm, that means Nigerians don't know how our government works.

Supreme Court has the final say, not the executive branch
On the surface, whatever the supreme court says is final. But that is really not the case. For proof, look at recent events such as this Naira redesign policy.

So supreme court is now overseeing monetary policies in Nigeria? Wonders shall never end.
The daily limit on withdrawal is actually a good idea. This has drastically reduced kidnapping and other forms of criminal activities in the country.
You think like a 7 year old child. So you think kidnappers are dumb and impatient? Since the weekly limit is 500k, they can patiently take their money in bits. Besides, there are other ways they can go about it. That said, are you wilfully suggesting this silly measure (that punish tha masses more than criminals) is the right way to reduce crime? Are you aware that Nigeria has the second highest unemployment rate in the world? And the highest number of out of school children? Connect the dots!

Those that voted for another candidate in Kano would have more likely voted Tinubu as an alternative.

Those that voted Atiku are not people interested in his history or the plans he has for the nation. They look at his religion and tribe. They would have voted for the candidate that shared closer similarities. That’s not Peter Obi.

You are suprisingly correct.

I hope this naira scarcity ends after Election, it's quiet a good move by Buhari to enhance a free and fair election .
Are you for real? Is the Naira policy the best way to ensure a "free and fair" election? So, you think a person intent on selling his vote won't accept tranfers or even accept goods like grains or oils? So what difference does that makes? The goverment should have done the right thing such as public awareness, good legislation, improving the economy and so on from day one it was voted into office not subjecting ordinary Nigerians to silly and ill-thought out policy such as this. Beside, at the end of the day no matter what, banks will accept the old note and give out new notes. All that said, can you now see the absurdity of the whole thing?

I want to believe it is not peculiar to Nigeria. Once you land this world, na struggle for survival.
While i agree with you that almost anyone, regardless of their country face a challenge or two, not all these challenges are the same. Most African countries, Nigeria specifically is notorious at making life unnecessarily hard and frustrating to it's people.

You could agree with me that this is the case will almost every facet of life here: scant jobs, shoddy infrastructure, rigid bureacracy (NIMC was a classic example), poor public services ( ordinary safe tap water is something Nigerians can only dream of; boreholes are now a norm). I can go on and on.

Just visit some equally developing countries (and African) like Mauritious or Seychelles for a month and you will then realize how bad things are in Nigeria.
