Popular Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo has responded to critics who called him out and accused him of idolatry.

The criticism began after the newly married actor shared a photo to Instagram, of himself holding the feet of a statue of Jesus Christ in a church in Montreal.

In the caption of the photo, Dumelo prayed for his fans and family. He wrote;

Dear God…..I pray for everyone who’s pursuing their dreams. I pray You heal the sick, I pray you touch the aged, I pray you grant financial breakthrough for everyone. I pray you break all chains of bondage on anyone cursed. I pray whatever that is touched, turns to Gold. I pray for everyone here that by next week, you shall hear good news….

In response to the criticism, Dumelo made it clear to his critics that what matters is your faith as some gets their healing by touching the Tv or other forms of sacramental, he also pointed out that he is a Catholic and a proud.

I usually don’t respond to ‘negative ‘ comments on Instagram but these set of comments need clarification. I posted a picture of myself touching the feet of a statue Christ in a church in Montreal. Some people said it’s idol worshipping.

All Progressives Congress (APC) party members from Akwa Ibom state, under the aegis of Akwa Ibom Progressives Watch, have petitioned the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, protesting the defection of Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, to the party.

In a letter dated August 3, 2018, and addressed to the APC national chairman, the members of the group said it had noted with deep concern the broad chorus of disapproval and complete despondency amongst different strata of members of the APC in Akwa Ibom state over the defection of Akpabio the former governor of the state to the party.

The Lagos state police command in company of the Lagos state Office of the Public defender, has arrested the founder of a non-governmental organisation, Jephath Ighodaro, 37, for allegedly defiling his twin sons at their home in Aguda in Surulere, Lagos state.

The Special Assistant on Social media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie on Thursday said the Governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal went back to his former party because his plans to overthrow the President Buhari when the president was ill failed.

Akwa Ibom State High Court judge, Justice Okon Okon, cheated death on Tuesday as kidnappers from Rivers State attacked him in the court premises in Uyo, threatening to kill him for sentencing them to death.

It was gathered that as soon as the presiding judge, Justice Okon pronounced the death sentence on the kidnappers, the condemned bandits began to abuse him.

A video making rounds on internet has sparked controversy, the footage shows Nigeria’s U20 women team kneeling down in front of the Sports Minister and other officials to collect their entitlements.

In the video, one of the players is seen kneeling before Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Solomon Dalung and other officials as she counted the money she was given before handing back the balance to the sport minister.

A commercial tricycle rider popularly known as (Keke NAPEP rider), Mr Abuchi Odoh and his wife, Ndidi, a trainee seamstress (tailor) have been blessed with quintuplets.

Mr Odoh and his wife, Mrs Odoh, 30, welcomed the quintuplets, four males and one female on Thursday and it was reported that the woman delivered the babies through caesarean surgery at God’s Mercy Maternity Home, Obiuno Otolo, Nnewi, Anambra State. The University of Ibadan (UI) in Oyo State has been ranked as the best university in Nigeria in the July Webometric ranking of world universities topping University of Lagos (Unilag) and University of Ilorin (uniilorin).

While the Ibadan-based institution took the first position among 100 Nigerian tertiary institutions, it however was rated 905 in the world.

While Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Ado-Ekiti was rated as the best private university in the country, having emerged second overall best in Nigeria and 2,287 in the world by the Spain-based Webometrics

Senator Abdullahi Adamu representing Nasarawa West in the National Assembly, has said the Senate President, Bukola Saraki once told him how he felt about Dino Melaye’s behaviour in the Red Chamber.

Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Owerri has seized a container NO-MRSU 3040288 found to be carrying military uniforms along Aba- Port Harcourt road.

Two sisters operating as sex workers, Chinwe Chukwu, 28 and her younger sister Emmanuella Eze, 22, have been arrested for fighting over clients in a popular hotel in Lagos. 30 students of Limpopo school have been reportedly pregnant so far this year and findings reveals that blessers popularly known as sugar daddies are responsible for this act.

This was after it was revealed there are 27 pregnant girls in Grades 10, 11 and 12 at Molautsi Secondary School in Blood River just outside Seshego, South Africa.

According to The Sowetan, which saw at least six pregnant girls during a visit to the school on Thursday. The girls refused to be interviewed.

However, according to a Grade 11 pupil, older men were responsible for impregnating some of her friends.

Sterling Bank latest advert got a mixed feeling when it was shared on their official Twitter handle. The advert banner which depicts the logo and building of some other banks, Some social media users called them for trying to pull down the brands of others in the name of advert while some social media users called it creativity.

Policemen under the supervision of the Divisional Police Officer in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo state allegedly invaded Umuneke Ngor Magistrate’s Court and beat up the Chief Magistrate, Ngozi Onyenemezu, for discharging three armed robbery suspects. Buba Galadima, the Chairman of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC), has asked Nigerians to hold the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole and their National Welfare Officer, Ibrahim Masari, responsible if anything happens to him.

Cameroonian government has arrested four soldiers suspected of shooting dead two women and two children accused of being accomplices of the Nigerian notorious terrorist group Boko Haram.

In a shocking video that has since gone viral, men wearing military uniforms similar to those of some units of the Cameroonian army executing two women and their two children, on their knees.

An army officer in Cameroon’s Dad North region, said the soldiers were arrested last Sunday. A second security source said three of the soldiers had been transferred to the capital Yaounde while the fourth was still being held in Maroua, the capital of the Far North.

The two uniformed men are seen dragging the women; slapping one of the women and saying ‘You are going to die you BH’. BH in Cameroon refers to the Islamist group Boko Haram.

The video which looks like it was filmed on a mobile phone has someone commenting on the shocking scenes, explaining that the women were captured during an assault on Boko Haram.

The two women are led up a small hill, blindfolded, before all four are shot in the back. The cold blooded military men fire close to twenty bullets, including close-up shots on the corpses of the women and the little children.

A man allegedly killed his wife after suspecting she was cheating on him by using electric shock on her private parts. The sad incident happened in Raipur’s Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, India.

I had decided last month that I’d sell it, and whatever I got for it, I’d hand over to the “Vocational School for the Blind” in Oshodi and the “Pink Oak Cancer Trust Fund”. My Aunt volunteers at the school, and she reminded me that they were still trying to raise some money to care for their students, so I came up with a plan. I told her that I’d give my followers the background history of my old car, and get all my celebrity friends who’d sat in it at some point or another to autograph it, and then put it up for an online auction. I figured that since I didn’t need the money from the sale to buy a new one, we could just auction it off and hopefully raise a decent enough amount of money to give back to those in need.

You see, I’ve never found it necessary to own more than one car. Mostly because I can only ever DRIVE one car at a time; and when I bought the car in 2011, I promised myself that I would never buy another car, until I owned the home I live in. To me, owning a nice car might help me LOOK like I was doing okay, but owning a nice home would help me KNOW. Few days after the governorship election in Ekiti State, Governor Ayodele Fayose made his first public appearance and got a rousing reception on the streets of Ado-Ekiti today Tuesday.

The governor went to the palace of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi 111, was ‘mobbed’ by the people in areas such as Okesa, Oja Bisi, Ojaba, Irona and Oke Oriomi.

At the palace of the Ewi, Fayose said it was unfortunate that he and his supporters were still being hounded after the election had come and gone, the governor also complained of all his security men being withdrawn, shutting down of the radio and television station in the state making it impossible to get to the public.

“I have come to officially tell your sir, as the Paramount Ruler of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, that the Government House was invaded by the police. Over 400 of our members are being detained as we speak now.

“After the poll on Saturday, my wife was prevented from entering the Government House for about 45 minutes. Since last Wednesday, security agents had laid siege to the Government House, and were subjecting people to untold hardship coming in or going out.
