Police in Lusaka Zambia have launched a man hunt for recently crowned Miss Universe Zambia, Melba Shakabozha after she allegedly stabbed her white lover, Maji and took off with his money.



It was reported that a case of attempted murder was filed at the Lusaka Central Police, Melba stabbed her Finnish lover, Maji in his stomach twice before she took off with his money. Maji lost alot of blood and was unconscious.



He was discovered by one of the hotel attendant who reported to the manager, and he was immediately rushed to the hospital. However, upon gaining conscious, Maji narrated his story to the police who opened a case against Melba and her mobile phone has been switched off so far.

Police at the Gender Section of the Command have arrested two men for allegedly defiling a seven old girl. It has been discovered that two married men continually had sex with the 7-year-old girl in their compound in Lagos and the girl has confirmed this to their wives.



The suspects, Mr. Osuntunbo Dare, 42 and Idowu Gbolahan, 29, who live at Sanusi Street in Shomolu, Lagos, both sexually abused their neighbour’s daughter separately without any knowledge that they were both doing the same thing. The abuse which began in 2017 with Dare continued and Gbolahan joined in 2018 until the girl’s mother suspected, checked her private part and found out her daughter had been defiled.

It was at this point that the girl opened up and fingered Dare and Gbolahan as the culprits.



Investigation revealed that Dare was the first to begin assaulting the girl in 2017. Then in 2018, Gbolahan joined to rape the girl on multiple occasions. Both men threatened the girl not to reveal their actions to anyone.

Itse Sagay, Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), has proposed a solution for the Federal Government to approve funds for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), without awaiting the approval of the National Assembly.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Sagay noted that the seeming delay by the National Assembly on approving funds for the 2019 elections would have negative impact on democracy.

"If elections are not held, it will mean the collapse of our democracy, leading to chaos and anarchy," he said.

"The question that arises is simple. Which is more critical to democracy and the survival of Nigeria: Is it (1) the power of the National Assembly to approve budgets or (2) the survival of democracy and Nigeria itself?

“If the survival of democracy is more important and fundamental to Nigeria’s existence, then failure to approve the budget for elections will trigger the doctrine of necessity, thus compelling the funding of election without the approval of the National Assembly.

“It is simply a question of the survival of democracy and the continued existence of Nigeria. The power of approval of budget is just a single item in the whole of the Constitution. On the contrary, elections and democracy which they support, constitute what the whole Constitution is about.”

Proposing a solution, he said: “The overriding necessity and imperative of elections and democracy simply override the power of National Assembly. If the National Assembly refuses or fails to approve the budget for election, the doctrine of necessity will validate the provision of the funds without the National Assembly’s approval.”

However, Senator Suleiman Nazif, Co-Chairman of the National Assembly Joint Committee on INEC, has said the committee will reconvene on August 27 to conclude work on the INEC budget submitted to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Oyo State Government on Monday denied demolishing the music house of popular gospel musician, Yinka Ayefele, in Ibadan.

The government of Oyo state led by Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, has denied claims of being involved in the demolition of the music house. The state government through its counsel, Mr Yomi Alliyu, made the denial when he appeared before Justice Iyabo Yerima of the State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan, on Monday.

Alliyu appeared for the first and second defendants, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi and Mr Bola Abimbola (State Attorney-General), in a case instituted by Ayefele against the defendants.

Governor Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa State has reacted to reports that he is set to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Residents and youths of Shasa community in Akure metropolis, Ondo State, yesterday, stoned Police detectives for trying to rescue a suspected ritual killer from being set ablaze.
It was reported that the suspect, whose identity was unknown at press time, was nabbed by residents of the community on the Akure-Abuja Expressway, near Shasa Market, for carrying a big bag allegedly containing human parts.
Sources said the suspected ritual killer was loitering around the area, when some youths accosted him, asking him questions he could not give convincing responses to. However, when searched, incriminating items suspected to be human parts and charms were allegedly found inside the bag.
One of the eyewitnesses told newsmen: “When the people around found some items covered with blood in the bag, they started beating the man. THE Nigerian Army announced yesterday that it will soon commence its annual training programme, the ‘Operation Python Dance III’, also known as Exercise Egwu Eke III, in South East States formations and units under 82 Division, Nigerian Army.
The General Officer Commanding, GOC, 82 Division Nigeria Army, Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Boman Kabuk, disclosed this yesterday at the 302 Artillery Regiment, (General Support) Onitsha, Anambra State, when he paid a courtesy visit to the military cantonment, having resumed duties in Enugu on August 6, 2018.
Gen. Emmanuel said: “Exercise Egwu Eke III, is a training exercise for troops of 82 Division of the Nigerian Army and during the training, if there are criminal activities like armed robbery, kidnapping and other criminal activities that distort peace and tranquility of the citizenry along the line, the Army will not close its eyes and watch those criminals activities to thrive.

Looks like the prayers of many Nigerians on social media on scraping SARS has been answered as the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN, has ordered the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to immediately “overhaul the management and activities” of the Police unit the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

This development follows numerous complaints from Nigerians on social media, accusing SARS officers of several misconducts ranging from harassment, extortion, assault to extra-judicial killings.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Laolu Akande, the Osinbajo ordered the IGP to shut down the unit with immediate effect and has also directed the National Human Rights Commission to set up a Special Panel where members of the general public will have the opportunity to present their grievances with a view to ensuring redress.”

Reports of sexual harassment between lecturers and female students is no longer new in Nigerian Universities, This year alone three lecturers have been called out in sexual harassment cases. A fresh case of sexual assault between lecturers and students has left many alarmed as an alleged gay lecturer might have come to the end of the road with his uncompromising tantrums and his victims.

An engineering lecturer of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan, identified as Engineer David Aremu Oluwafemi has been accused of sexual harassment and campus extortion of male students.

According to the most recent victim and course representative of the class, Lasisi, the said lecturer is known for his sexual assault of only male students in the department and ensures that during exams, he searches only male students to enable him check out their privates.
