Becos, i read of someone here on NL, in previous pages in Part 4, was saying something like his school didn't allow him work until after 2 semesters or so....

Cant actually remember the page i saw that and the person dt wrote that up, but it is towards the last pages of part 4 or so sha....

Still not convinced because there isn't a concrete proof yet. Well, let's just drop the debate

Walspring: If am not wrong i think some school own maybe instant while another school is after a semester while other school is after 2 semester so it all depend on schools but i strongly advise you to ask ur DSO or international student office.

What do you mean by US embassy prep links That's strange... Well, you are already in the right forum. This thread has been helpful to tons of people now studying in the US.

I will advise you bookmark this page on your browser and don't miss out on any page. You can also pick on some people (NLders) already in the US. Browse through their profiles and sure you will be enlightened by their experiences. #MY 2 CENT .

imperiouxx: Even one carries it in his bag (if not boarding bag).... The bag won't be reached until he's cleared at POE as US visitor. Then he can go and claim his bag many meters away.

Babs911: I'm sure that's the reason for my denied because inside the form given to me its stated that the applicant shows no ties to his foreign country but he never ask me such question concerning ties or not I want to try and make it before the end of this month all I just need is pm me on what to tell the vo concerning my cousin sponsoring me. dnpasion: Recieved my i-20 couple of days back and copies of my sponsor bank statement which i sent to the school for my admission processing is been sent along with my i-20 and they also stated the amount my sponsor is providing for the first year on the i-20 which is the total amount on the account as at then but now my question is, can i go to the embassy for my interview with the copies of the bank statement the school sent back along with the i-20 or i should tell my sponsor to request another recent bank statement whenever i'm going for my interview but i'm scared the account balance might not be upto the total amount it was during my admisson process and it might even get higher vice versa? Please i need some answers. Thanks

Usually STEM programs get more scholarship than NON-STEM. However, you can always tap from the limited one that's highly competitive if you have compelling profile - high scores in GRE and or TOEFL (optional depending on your school), RESUME/SOP and a smooth rapport with the Professors in your dept. That said, please finish with your application early. Most times, it's based on first-come first-served.

Can I get a supervisor in my proposed school faculty from here and how ?
Either way but the better is to get one from Naija.That means you must have been exchanging emails with the chosen Professor you are interested in...

Aside my transcript, school certificate, passport, letter of motivation , reference letters... What else do I really need ??
Guess this is application stage. You should add standardised test(s) and some schools ask for financial capability of sponsor before taking admission decision and sending I-20. Please check with your school to see what's peculiar to your case.

Tochium: The school I am processing said in severe hardship that the student may be permitted to work off campus. The ISO will assist the student in filing for that.
