obsy2020: My visa was approved diz mrng @ lag embassy. All NL'ers rejoice with you. Congrats and have a pleasant stay in the US of A. The house will like to learn from your seamless interview. Kindly share with us how it went. ![]() |
Bimmey: @house, i was delayed this morning but am happy cos it was just a game of luck 2day dt i was at d embassy...I must say the pattern of your interview is strange. Please do you actually have a sibling studying in the US? Just wondering how the question popped up. If it's true, you are advised not to conceal it in your next ds-160 form and interview. Sorry about the delay. Glad you haven't lost hope. Try to reapply asap and hope you get a date before your resumption. All da best. |
Olatomide: Visa was granted in lagos. Interview was slated for 7:30am, didn't get in till around past 10. The VO at window 1 was denying virtually everyone, prayed he shouldn't attend to me, alas my number popped up. He questioned me on everything possible and checked each document, in the end I was granted. Headed to UTD for my graduate studies in Geology. Sorry it aint explicit.@last I found a fellow UTD student on NL. Please pm me. Let's relate... #wink. Congrats on your visa approval! |
Congrats Ms Nas and vivysparkles! That was concise and so on point. Big up U. Let other good testimonies start rolling in... |
@WellLady20+: You will be doing yourself great favour if you can take you time, reconstruct how all the interviews went. There might be some other hidden flaws causing the denials and not cuz of your participation in the visa lottery. All da best |
onipedey: Just do abrakadabra then the visa is urs sharp sharp ma. Oga Imperiouxx, I salute u, really an unusual movementMehn! You got me laughing hard. . US visa don turn to pure water be dat o. |
zynnnie: Hi,It won't be to your disadvantage. Interview remains the same irrespective of having a regular or an expedite appointment date. Affidavit of sponsorship is compulsory and should be among your documents. It's just a letter written and duely endorsed by your sponsor stating that He/She is willing to sponsor your studies. You might request it from Babsharon. Guess He has a template He was distributing sometime. |
Can *somebody* please stop derailing this thread with unnecessary quotes and request? Gosh! |

Chris407: Hi everyone! Please I'm having problem booking my visa appointment for fall semester 2013, but it keeps on showing me no appointment available and I'm to resume by august 18. Can ya'll advise me on what to do about dis pleaseeeePatience is a virtue. Keep checking and dates will come up soon. Also check the thread frequently as members do announce whenever appointment dates are opened. You might wanna opt for an emergency appointment date if that's what you want but ensure you understand the terms and conditions. All da best |
@Jasmine et bunnygirl: congrats to the divas your cute luks might be one of the powerful factors that worked for both of you ![]() Have a pleasant stay in the US of A. |
@Topzy: congratulations and have a pleasant stay in Chicago ![]() |
labiowo: Hello Nairalander,It depends on your appointment date and how soon you will print the sevis fee online or have the receipt sent to you. If you plan it well, it isn't necessary you have the sevis receipt at hand before booking an appointment. Just ensure you allow much time in your appointment date while waiting for the sevis payment to be settled. My 2 KOBO. |
Mike-Will:Did you just say 15k? That's ridiculous! Well, agents with captivating biz gimmick could lure visa applicants into believing that they can only do things perfectly right through them. That's FALLACY Abeg save that 15k for something more prominent and follow the detailed explaination made by BigFrancis. It's just as simple as that. Pray your efforts pay off and you will come to share your success story. |
Mike-Will:You are welcome. More reason why this is where to source for genuine information. We've got people of high esteem and intellect in the house. Feel free to ask questions and you won't be milked by any agent out there. |
Laidexx: Hello people... Congrats to those that got their visas today.. Please could someone kindly advise me? My I- 20 indicates 36 months as the length of study but my program is actually 2years. Which of these two options is advisable to fill in the section of he DS 160 that talks about duration of intended stay?Don't for any reason go against what's on your I-20. Put the 36 months there and be prepared to explain to the VO if asked.just say the duration is actually 2 years but 36 months is stated on your I-20 showing a grace period of 1 year. #shikena All da best. |
Behold,d most blessed of all months is here;an opportunity is here.May Almighty ALLAH grant us all of d blessings in d month.RAMADAN KAREEM to all the muslims in the house!!! I prophesy we share more good testimonies in this sacred month just like today. It's a happy day today I must confess. Congratulations once again to all the new *Visa grabbers* don't mind my English. #lol. Peace out! |
Mike-Will:Biggie just answered a similar question. Please just be patient. check this out: bigfrancis21: Its a big fat lie! Those agents are trying to deceive you into patronizing them maybe because they feel you're gullible (or pliable). Ignore them please. Those agents have NO, I mean NO, exclusive rights to interview dates over the average joe like you and me. Just the way they wait for dates to come out and book for interview for their customers that's the way I and others also wait to book our dates. And dates came out and we booked. Biko, ignore them. |
Congratulations @ Omonaijar. Have a pleasant stay in the US of A. YES to answer your question. Cheers |
gbemonology1: Hello house, pls l need people's advice about an issue; l was denied F1 visa twice last month and am planning to reapply this month. On my last two ds-160, l lied that l dont have any immediate relative in US, but my brother is schooling and my sister is american citizen. I only did that to increase my chances of getting d visa. I want to know my chances of getting the visa this time if l put it that l have relatives in US and l want to knw if this wont cause another denial cos l wanna get it right this time....pls l need people's opinion abt this...Midi20 said it all. My case is kinda similar to yours but different in the sense that my brother is a citizen but not residing in the US at the moment. I said NO in my last interview and it was perhaps one of the reasons for my denial. In your case, your relative is a citizen and even live there. Perhaps the VO figured out you have a relative and there you are lying you don't. My advice, be truthful in your next application and hope for the best. All in all, it's always a case of 50-50 when you have a relative there as you might be seen as an intending immigrant. Try to work on your home ties and let the VO sees beyond all reasonable doubt that you will return. All da best. |
harkynon: guys, i just wrote my gre and had 311 in all, 3.5 in analytical. But i just got a lucrative job that i can save alot. I would like to know if USA schs and immigration wont disturb me or refuse me of visa if i dont apply to any institution for the next 4 yrs for masters program. kindly adviceYou did quite great in your test. Congratulations As regards your question, first of all, GRE is valid for 5 years so you have no problem as regards using it for admission within the time span. You might need to explain your gap to the visa officer during your interview if asked and it's tenable to say you have been working to get more working experience and also raise some funds for your graduate studies. Your are on track with your plans. God bless your hustling. |
topzy2000: I thank God for his Favour. My visa was approved today at the Lagos Embassy. 2mins Interview and just 3 questions.Wow! Good news all d way. Congrats and welcome to the US of A. |
olarwarlay: I knew the Visa Officer would dare not disobey my God!Congrats omoluabi! Am happy for you. |
Kassidy4luv: Structural Engineering? plz y didnt U accept the provisional offer of admission?Got an admit in a school in Texas, a state which is more appealing to me. |
@Fidelia : sorry about the delay dear.I still can't understand why the bank gave you that condition. It's just bizzare. Are they saying the account holder (your Uncle) can't have the original of his statement of account but can be sent to a third party? #confused# IMO, the VO delayed you on grounds of sponsorship. Try to work on it before you re-apply. Pray you come here very soon to share your success story. Don't be deterred All da best |
Kassidy4luv: University of Oklahoma.......... can i apply to the skul? Why not? depending on your preference. What course are you going for? I applied and got admission there but sorry I didn't settle for the school. |
@Odowetalu: congratulations! |
