A million man army or high tech; be serious about the borders; trust none of the allies, not the coalition members, not the Pakistani, not the Americans, UK, PMC, not arms sellers -trust none; for every advice, information, etc, ponder what ways it could turn out counter-productive. Seek more cooperation with the Chinese yet do not glibly accept all help and advice…. |
holluwizzy:My brother The Nigeria masses require quick concentrated educating or we are doomed.... |
baseb:My understanding is that the Kaduna State goveror, Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, has decided that paying for the release of kidnapped students, like Zamfara governor Bello Matawalle does, only exasperates the Kidnaping crises. Here is an extract from the BBC: Many Nigerians believe resorting to paying ransoms, have made mass abductions a lucrative source of income for Kidnappers. Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai refuses to pay for the release of the kidnapped students and consequently the psychopathic kidnapers have decided to kill students in their possession to pressure him into paying them. |
Jakpon:Not to underplay the deteriorating security situation, but Majority of nations would seem mired in gore if their media solely concentrated on deaths in their respective nations. |
Ekealterego:This is why I always champion the need for Nigerians to insist on evidence no matter how desperately they may want to believe something. Right now Nigeria appears to be shouldering the worst that Social Media can be in this negative aspect but the rest of the world will eventually suffer from various iteration of this evil, which is why a world symposium on Social Media abuse is needed. In the meantime, the best defence Nigerians can mount against this aspect of social media is Evidence. Evidence based approach to information is always ideal but we need to make emphasis on becoming a people that always asks questions before acting. |
The membership and continued existence of Ipob, Oduduwa, Amutoekun, Esn , Delta militants and others is not evidence that Nigerians no longer want Nigeria but more a symptom of absent government. Here’s why: there is a sociological or psychological recognised phenomenon, whose name I don’t remember, that describes the way in which any organisation or movement will acquire or attract adherents and supporters. The psychology of human beings, according to these studies, indicate that there are always enough people ready to support whatever groups someone sets up. If for example you are willing to shoulder responsibility for others, you will have significant number of people supporting your cause by the end of one year, whatever that cause may be. Start something as preposterous and unfathomable as, say, Me, the Black Man, for the Oppression of all White men and Women of Britain, in the UK and you’ll find that by the end of the year you’ll have many supporters - white men and women including. That you do not have many such organisations in Britain is owing to the fact that the British state, in the form of her institutions, works. You’d be arrested and your organisation disbanded, facilitated by resort to all sorts of laws you are meant to have infringed. In the context of Nigeria, it means that support for IPOB, Oduduwa, Delta Rebels, or any group is not evidence that Igbo’s, Yoruba’s, Deltans etc are universally or popularly in support of these movements anymore than it means Yoruba’s, Igbo’s Deltans are not in support of Odudwa, Biafra or Delta Republic just because governors of the relevant states set up counter groups such as, say, Movement for the Eradication of Separatists Movements and these organisations then attract thousands of Igbo, Youroba and Deltan members. |
DaddyGoo:He means the state should look at the efficacy of self-contained systems for homes and business excluding diesel generators, depriving the terrorists of easily sabotageable centralised systems. I guess the state could concentrate on providing or help finance self-contained systems for vital infrastructures like hospitals and industries. Perhaps seek partnerships with providers and innovators of current solar energy developments. The so-called developed worlds seem keen on assisting developing Nations adopted alternative energy. Ordinarily the idea of homes and business providing their own power appears like exorbitantly expensive enterprise but if terrorists are going to adopt the policy of blowing up pylons and power distribution stations in this state and eventually nationwide – which common sense suggest will happen – adopting self contained power policy will be cost effective. The less extreme but still decentralised systems such as discussed in the article linked would still prove challenging for terrorists to successfully disrupt: Moving towards a decentralised grid https://www.therma-mech.co.uk/what-is-decentralised-energy-and-why-is-it-important/ https://www.raconteur.net/energy/decentralised-energy-grid/ |
NuraSambo:Since Vietnam, crucial and even decisive campaigns are waged on the ground as well as the media. It is as if I’ve read here not long ago that the current military chief has decided to withhold or not engage media press. If not, it mightn’t be a bad idea if military employ photographers or charge one or two soldiers in every theatre with Photographing &Videoing responsibilities at least for the purpose of the archives. I take it that this, lawmaker representing Geidam in the federal parliament and the Executive Chairman of the local government , is not in possession of Terrorists Flag hoisting and town swaggering photos or video evidence since people in the area would be too scared to capture any. Conversely, due to new Chiefs media stance, the military are unable to provide evidence in support of their claims of having liberated the area. |
Never4getU:lol see solution. I thought Nigerians are smart. Nothing about maybe stop attacking and killing your police and security officials, perhaps police manned check points need to be reappraised with intent to make them fit for purpose, instead of demanding they be taking down; no, none of these, instead - na form more armed groups. ![]() The wars and anarchic deep bushmality even the most decrepit African shithole nations up and down a very, very, immensely crappy continent are even leaving behind is the thing some so-called Nigerians are championing here as though a revolutionary new idea. |

Why aren’t Nigeria military in all outpost, great and small, adopting the policy of mandating that all returning or approaching military parties must stop 50 mitres – more or less – from base and await permission to proceed? Usually permission to proceed is given after a single personnel from the approaching patrol, convoy, etc walks up to the soldiers at the base for id verification. If we have such a policy then the perils of complacency needs to be drilled into members of the services. If our bases are too rudimentary for such policies then perhaps we need to invest in bases with defined entry and exit points. |
If you sit back and suspend deep thoughts, you come to realise that those claimed to be Nigerians such as these terrorists; Nigerian motorists; Nigerians complaining about police and authority; youths running about burning things down during Lekki protest, etc, are all like truculent children, destroying things in a household where parents don’t enforce discipline. And to a large extent, problem with Nigeria is too much freedom because of abesent father-state. This stuff couldn’t happen in China. Whether sponsored by West, East or Arabia, the state would annihilate all the terrorists plus their online supporters. China wouldn’t be handling unrest in China with the kid-glove Nigeria uses - that is when Nigeria could be bothered to act in the first place - because of fear of the West and their Human rights crap.. |
In situations like this, Police Command (the institution) as well as State and Central government are responsible for the deaths of police officers, given that Bandits and Unknown gunmen have long since declared their willingness to target and kill law enforcement operatives. |
qualityovenbake:You forgot to add Bad News loving. |
Lol, unlikely. If they ever granted Ipobians asylum in the first place, they’d never revoke it, not with this present South-Asians influenced -anti-black conservative government. Anything that would help destroy Nigeria, the great black hope, they’d be in favour of, with Priti Patel leading the intrigue. |
Miscreant organ trading would benefit Nigeria far more than cattle business, I tell ya! Cows have brought Nigeria nothing but death and destruction all for a mouth full of paltry kpomo. Imagine tranquillity throughout the realm, the pleasantness of waking up to the bright sun. Ah, the glinting rivers and dreams of party-going at night. You’d be able see calming landscapes and hear the twittering birds. All this would be ours in the absence of ugly unemployed youths littering the towns and villages, talking fart about separation and burning police stations. You won’t again have to worry about the grotesques retards from Mali, Niger , Chad Cameroon and Nigeria roaming the NE in search of farmers, school children, army and villagers to behead, kidnap, fight and render homeless respectively if we only but forgo cattle business and instead engaged in Miscreants Organ Trading with China. |
naija1stnigar:True. |
Abegiii create secret abattoirs for the Chinese state in Nigeria. Send captured terrorists, Bandits, Unknown Gunmen, convicted herdsmen and police killers there for slaughter and parts exports to Asia. Why can’t we recoup some of the costs miscreant encore on the Nigeria coffers by their disruptive actions through trading them to China? ![]() |
Don’t accept them back in Nigeria unless they have documents that prove they are Nigerians. |
https://www.motherjones.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/NRCSAZ02094_-_Arizona_471NRCS_Photo_Gallery.jpg These cows be like, 'Send us to Nigeria, land of the free!' |
Lol, the happiest Cow in the world right there; it cant believe it is in Nigeria, land where bovines roam free and does not want to wait for protocol, 'Thank the great lord Meloo!', it lowed, 'Oya, where farmers’ fields deh?' |
Govt preparing you all for the adoption of French pegged West African "Franc" by continually devaluing Niara ![]() Return to slavery or die by terrorism, your choice ![]() |
leaders should always think before they talkNot just leaders, all of us too. Nigerians lying up and down on social media, calling for people’s death, faking news, insulting tribes and so on. No record is lost nowadays, one day your past discretions online may return to destroy your dreams. With quantum computing, all our User Id's and passwords, wont hide our true identities. In the next ten years, those given permission will be able to retrospectively find out about you. That is, they’ll be able to circumvent your internet providers and your VPN’s etc…. |
Are Nairaland Mods all Nigerian? |
