Lying and dishonest Social Media Youths are not going to make honest future leaders of Nigeria. Social Media Youth of Nigeria: Outright lying, exaggerating, profaning, adulterating images and videos to score cheap political points and attract followers; misrepresenting information; pressuring the West to penalise Nigeria and generally doing all it takes to promote personal positions even at the expense or existence of Nigeria itself... |
Stephandesward:Looking at the Nigeria map, from a layman’s perspective it would seem as if Damasak is an area with a major route leading to Guzamala. An area if abandoned by the Nigeria army and state would make it easier for terrorists to transport heavy and major equipment from Niger Republic into Guzamala the part of Nigeria they control. It might be something a guerrilla force would do if intending to transition into a standard army. Dont laugh at me ![]() |
This Gudzamala, how large is it? Is the area larger than the Eastern part of Nigeria successfully blockaded during the civil war and starved of food and supplies? |
Ekeeyhandsome:There are millions of Nigerians that have never left Nigeria and are doing well in Nigeria. I didn’t watch the vid but I expect that opinions outside of Nigeria’s politicised media space would be unfavourable towards the pastor since the world’s perception of African pastors is that they are themselves scammers - veritable dispensers of Snake-oil holy water! |
Would you as a Nigerian be comfortable if all foreign countries invested in Nigeria alone? I wouldnt and I’m sure Nigerians generally do not mind Twitter setting up shop in Ghana. Good luck to them. I believe those making mileage of this are those using it as part of their party political point-scoring. In addition, some Ghanaians are exploiting this in order to highlight Ghana and make Ghana more attractive to foreign investment, which the politically motivated Nigerians are inadvertently facilitating by continually trending this. My only concern and that which I believe Nigerians need concern themselves - in the form of boycotts if possible- are situations whereby foreign entities establish business in neighbouring nations in order to exploit the Nigerian market. Be it schools, universities, airlines, cereals mills and whatnot, Nigerians need to boycott those. We shouldn’t be supporting situations that deprive Nigerians of jobs and definitely shouldn’t be supporting the foreign agenda which seeks to undermine the potential of Nigeria by creating jobs in foreign African nations they can more easily control in order to deprive Nigeria of brilliant people. For instance, they would like to kill the nascent Nigerian IT industry. Incidentally, many of us that were against or concerned about the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) warned that foreign nations would set up in foreign nations and flood Nigeria with goods and services detrimental to the equivalent local Nigerian brands. While Nigeria doesn’t have an endangerable local twitter equivalent, the principal is same. |
Balkan:How does someone insult tissue paper? |
They look Ghanaian. |
flemsy15:Just curious, wouldn’t it be cheaper sourcing leather from Northern Nigeria? |
obiekunie2:You’re an idiot. I don’t usually respond to comments like yours but I suspect you’re so thick, you need reminding of the fact. ![]() |
obiekunie2:Stop all this self-pity. Self pity like jealousy blinds those that indulge in it the ability to view things in a wider perspective and consequently render them uncreative. What of this perspective below?: Those that Jail break in Edo need thire photos publicised too. The fact this was not done imperils the general Edo public. Nigeria does not seem to care about Edo people. Nigeria favours the people of Owerri. |
Astute reasoning if you're not convinced -as many Nigerians are not - of the hands of external influences as cause of Nigeria's unprecedented level of insecurity. For those of us that see the hand print of external forces, these are obvious conclusions. It is obvious, and I mentioned this before it was declared on Niaraland, that there was going to be a Biafra Ambazonia link up, and it is obvious that local insurrections were going to be ignited in the SE, W, Delta as well as middle belt. The key to mitigating these plots are sincere and intelligent state governors, functioning police force and more prisons, secure, well built prisons. I've stopped mentioning border control since Nigeria seem incapable or unwilling to do much about this area. At least a functioning police force can do a lot to clean up the mess, in the form of areigning foreign deviants, incurred by unprotected or lax borders. |
Frank said he has been travelling across countries in Africa to gather likeminds who would come together to rescue Africa from bad leadership.Lol, all those Africans that are praying for Nigeria to collapse? Many act as though the success of thire Nations will be guaranteed not by hardwork, the talent and quality of thire people but Nigeria's distruction. If you doubt, recall how common Burna boy's Grammy win was received. Many wanted Nigeria music banned. And these are young Africans that should be pure of heart and Africa's hope. They should have been happy instead they were largely swelling with resentment and bile. Watch any number of them on YouTube discussing Burna' s win and you'd think thire faces had been constructed with iron untreated for rust, how they struggled to smile even in pretence. They are often begrudging at best. Nigerians need to concentrate on Nigeria, forget Africa. Nigeria is the best of Africa and if Nigeria cannot fulfill her potential then it's likely true that blacks are wanting in some fundamental way that we need to understand. Even France recognises this. |
Neuralink, Elon Musk's computer to brain interface firm, has released a video it claims shows a monkey playing the video game Pong with its mind. Its brain signals were sent wirelessly via an implanted device. The hope is that the interface could eventually allow people with neurological conditions to control phones or computers remotely. One expert said the fact no wires were used represented "significant progress", but more data was needed. The macaque monkey, named Pager, was first taught to play the video game with a joystick, and was rewarded with a fruit smoothie. During this process, the Neuralink device recorded the information about which neurons were firing to control which movements. Then the joystick was disconnected, leaving the monkey to control gameplay with its mind only. In a blog post the researchers wrote: "Our mission is to build a safe and effective clinical BMI (Brain Machine Interface) system that is wireless and fully implantable. "Our first goal is to give people with paralysis their digital freedom back, to communicate more easily via text, follow their curiosity on the web, to express their creativity through photography and art, and, yes, to play video games." After that it said the system "could also potentially be used to restore physical mobility" by using the link to read signals in the brain which could be used to stimulate nerves and muscles in the body. But the process would have to be refined. "With the monkey, we calibrate the decoder by mapping neural activity patterns to actual joystick movements. However, we won't be able to use such a strategy for people with paralysis," it said. Mr Musk's response to the experiment was typically bold. He tweeted: "First Neuralink product will enable someone with paralysis to use a smartphone with their mind faster than someone using thumbs." He went on to say the next stage would be "enabling, for example, paraplegics to walk again". He has a long-term ambition to usher in an age of "superhuman cognition", in part to combat what he sees as artificial intelligence so powerful it could destroy the human race. Andrew Jackson, professor of neural interfaces at Newcastle University, said of the experiment: "Brain control of computer cursors by monkeys is not exactly new, and this demonstration extends a line of work that dates back at least to pioneering studies in the early 2000s. "The control in the video looks impressive, but without seeing a proper publication on their data it is hard to say how it compares to the current state-of-the-art." But he added the fact that there were no cables coming through the skin of the monkey, and that brain signals sent wirelessly, was "definitely new and innovative". "This to me is the advance here, and is important both for improving the safety of human applications (wires through the skin are a potential route for infection) and also as a way of improving the welfare of animals used in neuroscience studies. "The Neuralink team has definitely made significant progress in this regard." Animal cruelty? Neuralink has previously shown off a video of a pig called Gertrude with a chip in her brain, and a computer tracking her neural activity as she looked for food. Neuralink co-founder Max Hodak recently tweeted about the possibility of using tech and engineering to create new species: "We could probably build Jurassic Park if we wanted to", he said, adding it wouldn't create "genetically authentic dinosaurs" and would require 15 years of breeding and engineering to get "super exotic novel species". Some experts though remained more concerned about the welfare of the monkeys and pigs Neuralink is using in its current experiments. Dr Katy Taylor, director of science and regulatory affairs at Cruelty Free International, said: "It beggars belief that animals are being used in this type of grotesque curiosity-driven experiment. "In fact, 57% of experiments in universities are now believed to be in the area of basic research, much of it driven by nothing more than curiosity and certainly not required by law." In its blog, Neuralink said all animals were treated well, with their care evaluated by vets. "Pager lives with his best mate, Code. They enjoy swinging from their treehouse and napping in their hammocks after an engaging gaming session," the firm said https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/technology-56688812 |
DubaiLandLord:Lol, good one. It's good practice to nit-pick... This is why we need to be very exact before we go condemning and taking sides without waiting for all the information.... |
DubaiLandLord:The Ballymurphy massacre was a series of incidents between 9 and 11 August 1971, in which the 1st Battalion, Parachute Regiment of the British Army killed eleven civilians in Ballymurphy, Belfast, Northern Ireland, as part of Operation Demetrius (internment without trial). I'm not endorsing anything by this, was responding to your request for info.... |
seankafor:No evidence Mister President and or military hierarchy declared war on Benue state. Military were possibly reacting to situations for which they seem untrained, situations best suited to well-trained police force, perhaps - others may explain this better... |
The casual deaths of Nigeria's services personnel worries and saddens me as much as civilian deaths. In some climes, citizens care more for the deaths of military and police officers. |
Seems there are attempts at brainwashing Nigerians into automatically accepting all opinions and accusations ranged against your Military and Police services. This is a dangerous position that Nigerians need to resist however difficult the clumsy actions of the Services make it. |
mekussa:Wait untill we hear from all sides and investigations made. |
mekussa:You’re making assumptions and arguing on the bases of these assumptions as though you're arguing with facts. For example, you stated: "there's no JUSTIFICATION under the SUN for killing unarmed combatants". Here you’re assuming that those killed are combatants and assuming that they are unarmed and then you proclaimed there’s no "JUSTIFICATION under the SUN for killing unarmed combatants" , when actually military or police may be justified if threatened. Secondly you've assumed the army is waging war and that those they are waging war with are Unarmed. We need to know as well as we can what actually took place and under what circumstances.. They, Soldiers , may be trained and led to understand that under relevant circumstances they are to take whatever action they feel is required to safeguard their lives. Perhaps because of historic presidencies such as Odi – not sure of the spelling – we assume that military will always gun down villages to instil fear or exact revenge. |
The reason behind the shootings was that an argument ensued between a white sienna driver and a keke driver, they were arguing at Number 1 (Azikiwe road). A police man on mufti (SARS/RRS) who decided to intervene on the power of his uniform was beaten up.Odd line, bolded, - it’s as if the reporter is suggesting that the police was abusing his position by doing what polices is supposed to do, which is break up violent public disputes among other roles.... ![]() |
In an experiment at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory outside Chicago, scientists may have discovered a fifth force - and it could change lives and answer one of the biggest questions of all: why is the universe here? Scientists might have found evidence for a new force of nature – that could solve the universe’s deepest mysteries. There are four known forces of physics that supposedly govern the behaviour of every particle and planet but experts have long suspected there must be more. And in an experiment at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory outside Chicago, scientists may have discovered a fifth force after tiny particles known as muons were found to wobble at faster rates than expected. Here, particle physicist Dr Harry Cliff, left, who was not involved in the Muon g-2 study, explains what the excitement is all about. Gravity holds the universe together and keeps our feet on the ground. Electromagnetic force is responsible for electricity, magnetism, light, radio waves, and holds atoms together The strong force holds quarks at the nucleus of an atom together and the weak force causes radioactive decay and also transforms particles. What are muons? There are three particles that make up everything we see in the universe – electrons and the up and down quarks . And for reasons we don’t understand there are also exotic fundamental particles, one of which is the muon. It is an unstable copy of the electron but only lives for about a millionth of a second and it’s 200 times heavier. What happened at Fermi? Aerial view of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) particle accelerator, Batavia, Illinois, USA. Aerial view of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) particle accelerator, Batavia, Illinois, USA. The purpose of the experiment was to measure the magnetic strength of the muon. It didn’t agree with the precise calculation made using current theories and this means there’s something else affecting the muon’s behaviour , which could be a new force of nature. Why does it matter? This discovery could point towards an explanation to unanswered questions – why is the universe here, what is it made of, what is dark matter made of. It might answer questions we haven’t thought of . How might it change lives? We don’t know yet but it might have some amazing applications in the future. Similar discoveries in the past have had a huge impact technologically, and quite often in unpredictable ways. All of our technology, computer chips, communications etc would be impossible without understanding electrons. What’s the next step? The experiment has analysed 6% of the data and will stimulate experiments where we look for signs of new particles. We’re on a journey that may bring us closer to understanding the universe . https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/scientists-find-evidence-new-force-23880206 |
We are seeing genuine adoption of this amazing technology,’ says CTO of crypto exchange A network aimed at transforming bitcoin into a mainstream form of payment has doubled in size over the last year, new data has revealed. The Lightning Network – an additional layer added to bitcoin’s network to facilitate transactions – now has more than 10,000 nodes after major cryptocurrency exchanges and payment apps adopted the technology. Bitcoin was originally conceived as a new form of currency, having been described as a “peer-to-peer electronic cash system” in the 2008 white paper written by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto. However limitations to bitcoin’s underlying blockchain have led to significant inefficiencies within the network for processing transactions. The bitcoin scalability problem, as it is known, means that the more the bitcoin network grows, the more cumbersome it becomes. Each new user makes it increasingly time consuming and costly to send and receive payments, to the point that buying something small like a coffee can come with a fee that is higher than the cost of the drink itself. How, again, why ![]() Are these new events for the military such that they have no contingencies because we have yet to encounter them? It’s not as if the carting off of military hardware, and millions in cash, by groups has no dire consequences, therefore we could excuse the absences of contingencies on grounds that they would be impracticable since waylays can take place anywhere. The military is unserious We need to at least benefit from our bad experiences by becoming experts on how to handle them in future ooooooooooooooooooooo people!!! |
Emotionss:Negative events such as these in any part of Nigeria impact the progress of all Nigerians. |
Emotionss:Negative news events is still taking pace in the North East, South West, South South, South Korea, North America, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Ethiopia, India, Uk and North pole. The negative news purveyors are simply concentrating on the TOPICAL South East for now. In a sense this should inform Nigerians generally that the preponderance of negative news from Nigeria is only because front-page crime news is focused on Nigeria. |
