There are strong indications that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu may want to do a deal with the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), concerning Osun State as the digging by the Tribunal progresses. Pointblanknews.com sources hinted that the Tribunal had discovered wide spread irregularities during the Osun govership polls, and most of the fraudulent ballots allegedly belongs to Governor Rauf Aregbesola. The Tribunal hearing the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, candidate in the August 9 governorship election in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has already admitted in evidence as exhibit a subpoena and four sacks of ballot papers used during the election in Ilesa East local council. It was further learnt that while the PDP candidate, Omisore’s prayer is for the tribunal to declare him winner, in the event that it is established that he had more votes, the Aregbesola’s camp is curiously asking for a re-run. And then enter the Tinubu angle. Sources said that the leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), is more interested in holding on to the states controlled by his original Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). Those close to Tinubu hinted that the loss of Ekiti was considered disastrous by him, and a chink in his armor, therefore would do all he could not to allow Osun fall in the hands of the PDP. According to our source, Tinubu is lukewarm about the center despite his public utterances. His main agenda is to hold on to the South West. Pointblanknews.com gathered that Tinubu is proposing something similar to 2011, where he held on to his states while they gave PDP the votes for the Presidential election. Tinubu wants the PDP to prevail on Omisore to back down, with a promise that the party would vote President Goodluck Jonathan. It is not clear how both parties will approach the tribunal however. But there are three problems. First ,is Jonathan who is an advocate of fairness at the polls. Sources hinted that Jonathan’s position is, whoever won should be declared winner. Secondly, the candidate , Omisore, is insisting he would not be part of any deal, thereby throwing in the trash can any proposal of “settlement” to him. Third , how do they factor in the members of the tribunal who already have the facts of the case. Tinubu is also facing another upheal (sic) task with who emerges the party’s presidential candidate come December 8. As it stands, sources said he is caught between Aminu Tambuwal and Muhammadu Buhari. Pointblanknew.com gathered that months ago, Tinubu was disposed to Abubakar Atiku. But veiled threats by the Buhari camp made him backtrack. pointblanknews.com/pbn/exclusive/2015-tinubu-gambles-osun-may-play-2011-card-2/ |

Which youth? The same ones that took their baths with salt water to vaccinate against ebola? Now, that's a laugh! The average Nigerian youth has no capacity for independent thought, are bereft of original ideas and have zero capacity to lead. My humble opinion. |

MoyoGENERAL: good morning guys,,having waited more than 36 hours after posting puzzle 2, I feel its time to give up the answer and explanation...so we won't wait till eternity for the first 8 person....You're right! There's only one solution. I didn't use a grid to solve first time. |
MoyoGENERAL: Puzzle 2...So, to avoid duplication in their distribution patterns this arrangement has to be followed. One sister gave all her books to one sister(4;0). The second sister gave three and one books respectively to two sisters(3;1). The third sister gave two and two books respectively to two sisters(2;2). The fourth sister must give two and one and one books respectively to three sisters(2;1;1) while the last sister can only give one and one and one and one books respectively to four sisters(1;1;1;1)! EXPLANATION (edited) Beth gave all four books to Alice Christy gave three to Edith remaining one Therefore the only combinations left for Deborah are: She gets two books from one girl (Edith or Alice) and one each from two other girls (Christy (compulsorily), and Edith or Alice(depending on who gave her two)). QED NOTE: Deborah must of necessity be the one who gave two books to one sister and her remaining two books to another sister!!! |
The answer is one marble. EXPLANATION Pick one marble from the box labelled one white one black, but which we know to contain either two white or two black marbles. Then take the correct label for it from one of the remaining two boxes. Now you have one box correctly labelled, you have one label in your hand, one box without a label and one box with a wrong label. Take label from the incorrectly labelled box and put on the box without a label then put the label in your hands on the last box.QED |

Nice going bro...I followed you from the first page to this point and I must say i'm impressed seeing as you are in far away mathematics! One quick question though, whatever happened to your first chopper? You know, the one you were making from scratch, I will like to see that one fly...to my mind, that prototype is the one with the money! cos it contained a large percentage of your brain and muscle, if you get what I mean (using locally available materials to achieve the needed results). Do all you can to make that one fly even if not as well as this one. My two kobos worth! |
You guys are making too much noise about this issue. OP said he had accepted to take her as she was, pregnancy and all. Implying that if what she said indeed happened then it wasn't a problem for OP and he was ok/happy with it. Fast forward a few days later, she said it wasn't true and it was all a test - at this point whether the girl aborted or not is irrelevant - and OP is more than relieved! Which do you think OP prefers, taking the girl, pregnancy and all (which he doesn't mind doing, in fact was willing to do) or still keep the girl but without the pregnancy? IMO I think OP is very happy about the recent developments given that he was ok with the previous situation of things. What anybody else feels or thinks, which might or might not be right is not important! My two kobos worth. |
Codedeben: I won't also be happy if I refused to correct u OP.Hmmm! That's a thought! Only if true and not just due to laziness...but that's btw! I believe and very strongly too that one should take responsibility for what one does or says, especially in public. Therefore it is one's duty to go over what one has written or said and make the necessary correction. No one is above mistakes but the ability to recognize and fix your faults tells a lot about who you are and how you will approach other issues. Just saying. |
Pilot Oz: hmmm, i asked my grandmum today.. And she said my uncle who died early this year was the first person to live in that room.. i'll just bless the room in Jesus name.. And i dont believe the dead has got anything to do with the living.. Between, i still suspect sleep paralysis.. GOD help me.The room needs to be cleansed! By the way what do you mean by the highlighted text above? Are you trying to say btw=by the way? Pls see: https://www.nairaland.com/1523915/btw-way-not-between |
Bossforeva: at the bolden, does that mean ASUU Strike has been called. Dnt be surprised when Fagge's grandmother calls him to tell him that his great grandmother just died, and the native doctors said that her body is to be buried after six months, to ascertain the cause of her death. That's when u'll know what "next line of action means"O boy your head dey touch See as you dey make me laff like mental patient. But seriously I think this time it is for real! |
The Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike has disclosed that all contending issues between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal Government have been resolved. He made the disclosure in a statement following his meeting with the leadership of the union on Wednesday. He also lauded the patriotism and strong will demonstrated by members of the union to uplift the standard of education in the country. The minister, who had earlier threaten members of the union with sack following their refusal to call off the over five months old strike in the country’s universities, stressed that ASUU want the best for the country. According to him, “I am very pleased to announce that all contending issues between ASUU and the Federal Government have been resolved to the satisfaction of the parties. Let me emphasize that we recognize and appreciate ASUU’s patriotic role and commitment towards ensuring that our Universities are well-funded, resourced and run like their counterpart in other parts of the world. Thus, we are all partners in progress and there is no victor; no vanquished in the struggle of this nature for as long as our goals remain noble, not actuated by parochial interests, and targeted at moving our nation forward”. He also assured that the Jonathan’s administration is serious about revitalizing all universities and will continue to fund them as a matter of priority. ***THIS WAS AFTER AN MoU WAS SIGNED*** Striking university teachers across Nigeria today moved closer to resolving the five months old industrial dispute that had led to the closure of Nigerian universities by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with officials of the federal government of Nigeria. ASUU president Dr. Nasir Fagge told Saharareporters over the phone that the MOU signing took place at the Ministry of Education in Abuja. The Permanent Secretary at the ministry signed on behalf of the federal government while the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Abdul Omar witnessed the event. The ASUU president said the Nigerian government agreed to fulfill most of the obligations agreed upon during meetings with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja a few weeks ago, this he said, includes a non-victimization clause. Accordingly, ASUU will call a meeting of its National Executive Council to take a look at the MOU and decide on the next line of action within the next week. On its part, the Nigerian government will set up a committee to fully implement the agreement with ASUU. The MOU signing followed a disclosure by Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe yesterday that the Federal government had deposited N200 billion with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as part of the promise made to ASUU during its last negotiation with President Jonathan. MrRogers: Nuzo':Dude you sound like a lecturer has molested or sexually harassed you! Your reasoning is very shallow and I'm suspecting you are one of those so-called half-baked Nigerian graduates! I dont even know where to start dissecting your submission! There are good lecturers and there are bad ones. Each university has a disciplinary board where you can lay your grievance and start a case. They also have student union bodies that are supposed to represent the students. If after an investigation a lecturer is found wanting he is punished accordingly, if you as a student is found wanting you also receive your due and just punishment. If you dont trust that system you are free to use your imagination, if you have one, to set up the randy lecturer. We are living in a digital age and the possibilities are seemingly endless...case in point, Prof Kolo of ABU. https://www.nairaland.com/1341097/abu-sacks-professor-intimate-harassment If everybody will read their book very well and pass their exams then we wouldn't have need for exams, would we? neither would we have any need for schools! We can simply assume that since you read your books you have passed and arbitrarily award you a first class in Medicine and Surgery, send you out into the world to save humanity! And finally, ASUU is not fighting for student welfare! They want their universities equipped so that they can do their jobs better and produce reasonable graduates that can stand their own anywhere in the world and use their brains to think things through logically and sensibly to avoid making arguments that are not correlated like you have just done! |
gedtalks: WE ALL WANT CHANGE IN NIGERIA... But is infrastructure/ASUU's SALARY INCREASE the priority. Do you think that if Nigeria has so much money to transform everything that-requires-change; GEJ would'nt have done so ?Infrastructure is priority in development what do you plan to use to drive developmental progress if not infrastructure? Do you want to take lectures under a tree or enter the bush to relieve yourself? This strike has never been about salary increase. You guys should get it through your numbskulls. Lecturers are quite comfortable (A Graduate Assistant (entry level) earns 120k while a Prof earns half a mill gedtalks: Who told you that the most important is the education sector (which is at least standing with one leg)Pray tell what in your opinion is the most important sector? Ignorance perhaps? gedtalks: How about the health (hospitals) and food .Without education they'd probably use pure water in place of drip and zobo in place of blood gedtalks: How about the unemployed graduates population who have no where to work. Without work how can parents earn money to send their children to the very Universities we are talking about ?Without education how can you think outside the box to produce jobs for the teeming unemployed? It is a vicious cycle that can only be broken at one point and that is what the striking lecturers are attempting. gedtalks: By the way this might sound like a shock... But its fact........I don't know where you are getting your data from or how you are analyzing this, but education (Knowledge transfer) actually drove and still drives China's economy to where it is today! gedtalks: Rather than the FG's priority to be Universities,,, I rather they invest in polytecnics, small and medium scale industries like Aba industries. Mind you I'm a University graduate, but I know what Nigeria needs mostSince when did polytechnics stop being educational institutions? You just turned round and shot yourself in the foot! |

The Federal Government on Monday shifted the deadline for the strikers from December 4 to December 9. Previously the government, through the acting Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, had ordered the striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to resume work on December 4. However, on Tuesday the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Julius Okojie, announced the new date while addressing journalists in Abuja. He said the Government had shifted the deadline after it received notification of Prof. Festus Iyayi’s funeral rites slated for between December 5 and 7. Former ASUU President Mr. Iyayi tragically died on November 12, 2013 in auto crash in Lokoja on his way to attend the association’s meeting in Kano. “We just received information that the burial rites of Festus Iyayi begins on the December 5 and would last till December 7. “Based on this information, government decided to shift the resumption deadline to December 9, to enable lecturers to participate in the burial,” Okojie explained. The executive secretary said the directive had been communicated to the various university Governing Councils and Vice Chancellors for onward transmission to the academic staff. He also added that there was no intention to victimise any lecturer for participating in the strike. He said the victimisation clause which members of ASUU were using to discredit the government never came up when the unionists met with President Goodluck Jonathan on November 4. It was also mentioned that the order does not require students to commence lectures immediately. “The school environment had to be made habitable for both students and the entire staff of the universities.’’ He said any lecturer who resumed work after the expiration of the new deadline would not have his or her salary arrears paid. “You cannot pay someone who has failed to resume work. You are on strike and you want to be paid? The ASUU President, Nasir Fagge, had earlier explained that the union did not add any new demands in its letter to the president. ASUU President Nasir Fagge condemned government’s ultimatum, noting that the government’s letter after the meeting with President Jonathan (aimed and problem resolution) was not a total reflection of what transpired during the meeting. "The document was a report of Government’s understanding of the decisions or agreement reached on the matters discussed with ASUU,” he said. READ MORE: http://news.naij.com/53534.html |
