I was also offered an application fee waiver, but I can't even bear the cost and stress of sending documents right now. They don't give full funding, but you could get as much as 80% of your tuition waived. Why don't you apply to Murray State University or TAMUK, if you still want to commence graduate studies this year?

Thanks bro. TAMUK, I think, does not offer funding for the first semester, and I'm also seeking schools that offer TOEFL waiver. Most of these texas schools seem to insist on it. I'm willing to give murray state a shot though. You mentioned that they automatically grant you a S6,000 scholarship. Does this come as tuition waiver? Do they waive toefl?

Anyone knows something about Steven's Inst of Tech? They keep sending mails for application fee waiver. However, their acceptance rate was 38% for 2013. I take this to mean they receive excess barrage of applications from willing candidates. Why then would they solicit for applicants! Considering that it's a private inst, how generous are they with funding? In general, how prestigious is the sch?

Heart-broken! Got a rejection mail from univ of rhode island, Msc mech eng. So devastated right now, as it's the only school I have applied to. Now, I'm not even motivated to apply to any other. However, I cant imagine my dream of studying in the US forfeited. Cant just jump on any school's page now to apply. Suggestions on schools that are safe for my profile would be appreciated. GRE: 300, CGPA: 3.63/5.00.

NTNU just broke my heart! They said my GPA(4.18/5.00) is too low in comparison with candidates who have been offered admission.
While my friend with a lower 4.16/5.00 got admission for same course last year. I feel horrible right now!

Sorry bruv. You've got a nice cgpa. However, there's so high a demand for the tuition-free programmes these schools offer, that it is possible the number of first-class candidates alone who applied might have surpassed the quota they can admit. So, yours becomes the fate of a 4-point 2.1 holder. With your cgpa, you would bounce into most school in Germany. Their application windows are still wide open.

1. You must get a willing employer to file for you (Extremely hard these days)
2.. If you get an employer, then you enter the H1B lottery.You qualify if you're one of those picked during the lottery.
3. If you're not selected for the first round, you can try again the next year. That's why the extension is good.

As you can see, the road for intl students is not one paved with gold. That's why i laugh at those talking about racism and location because those are extremely insignificant.

Fantastic! To be clear, so, with my study of a STEM course, I automatically get a 3-year visa extension without hassles, or do I have to secure a placement for on-the-job skills training before I can receive the visa?
Also, as specified, is this visa extension going to be for the sake of the OPT programme only, or I am @ liberty to search for a full-time job and then have my employer file for an H1B during this period?

But what is the difference when you work 1 full month and earn $2000 then you pay $1000 + for studio, pay utility bills and you are left with maybe less or $500-700. You aren't saving and it is not wise. But in a place like texas, you work and earn $2000 or let me say $1500 monthly, you pay $500 for a good looking self contained apartment monthly.pay your utility bills, save the rest .and you have other business opportunities in TX compared to CA that is chilling place

Michigan Tech did interview for me via Skype.
URI put me on waiting list.
I've paused my app to TTU and ETSU.
Tho I still have till month end to complete my apps.

Both MTU and URI would make their decision by month end.
