Two question you should ask:
1. Will they be recruiting for graduate positions?
2. If they are recruiting graduates, are they going to continue with the pending recruitment?

Good evening guys, please what does it mean for an admission to be Degree program with restricted admission.. i really don't understand?, does it mean that the admission is meant only for germans or that the admission will be too strict. ?
Simple. Means there's a limited number of students they would admit.

Okay, sleep hasn't come... I'll just write something new. I always say: stay away from pessimistic people, you may not know how strong this advice is, trust me... It's the best thing you could do if you want progress in your life. There is a difference between being pessimistic and being critical. If you have a friend who sees an error in what you're doing or about to do and constructively criticizes you, suggests a better way to go about it, without trying to put you down and make you feel like a bad person, that's fantastic. If the only thing the person does is to see the bad in everything and doesn't even tell you how to do good... be VERY CAREFUL.

I have a friend. The most pessimistic person I know in this life. I graduated with a 2.1, he had 2.2. He kept saying life is cruel cos final result doesn't mean anything, How can someone who's less brilliant that he is have 2.1 and he, 2.2. I got a job and got my apartment, got my car... again, he was so bitter, kept saying crap about how everything must have worked through nepotism. Whenever I met a beautiful girl, he would complain... what are the girls seeing in you? It's because of your car... bla bla bla, If not for your car, no girl's going to look at you cos you're too skinny. Now I'm working out in the gym, the guy keeps being negative (It's easy to build muscles abroad, anybody can get it; he said)

I get admission for yankee, the only thing he kept saying: Admission no mean anything, anybody can get it, Na visa be the koko. I get visa, again the only thing he said was... American visa kuku easy to get, people dey get am anyhow, their questions are easy to answer. Visa no mean anything. Dem fit still bounce you for POE, make you no dey happy. I told him I was trying to cut costs so I'd be flying Royal Air Maroc, you won't believe the only thing the guy was telling me for 2 days straight was how the plane could crash, how Islamic terrorists could attack us in Morocco, etc. After I cross POE, all he could think of was... I just hope you're able to pay your school fees and survive. The guy sees nothing good in all I've done so far. The only thing he talks about now... earthquake, shooting, Trump. Dude was asking me how I'll cope with Trump as president. Me wey I be legal student lol.

I won't be surprised if the guy is secretly waiting for something bad so that he can be right for once about all his predictions and wishes. God no go let anything bad happen to me. I still talk to him sha because I've known him for over 9 years, plus... I'm kinda strong mentally. Moreover, I think I can help the guy. I don't even know why I'm writing this epistle, I just think it's cool to share. Stay away from people who won't see anything good in what you're doing. Those ones that'll be secretly waiting for failure. This isn't an attack on anyone o, I just want to post what's on my mind. I never saw it anywhere that life's going to be 100% smooth and easy. May God help all of us. cheesy cheesy cheesy

Be careful though, it's a very small world. Some people you call boss, boss and tell everything about your life, share secrets with are only so nice until you start to excel more than them. If you hear stories about how jealous Naija people dey fccuukk themselves up abroad, omo... you go smart up.

If you read this whole thing till the end... omo, you try o. loooooooool. Sorry for wasting your time with my nonsense cheesy cheesy cheesy
Niggy of like mind. Excel!

Here's something worth reading. I hear people say the UK gives you only 4 months to look for a job when in fact it is 12 months + additional 4 months after your studies.

Saying that no place on earth is more tolerant than the UK- very unexpected, considering the anti-immigration chants that followed brexit.

I shouted when I got to your post. Wow! You are definitely not well informed. I am in Germany and I can say without a doubt that jobs are not looking for people the way you stated it. A vacancy comes up and there are people who apply for it even with their qualifications they hope and pray to get the job. No job placement is guaranteed. I have personally met German citizens who are graduates travelling from state to state to find jobs. The good for them is while searching government pays them u employment benefits. We are not even of talking of foreigners who have searched and searched and are forced to take up another Masters or try another country. Its may take time to finally get a job and you need to keep applying and being positive. That's off course when you have a good grade, experience, and of course good command of the language.
Then you talk about learning Deutsch in 3 months! shocked guy what are talking about? In 3 months you only learn very basic level 1 Deutsch you need more time, years to speak deutch confidently with less mistakes.
My goodness!!! You have come to troll this thread too with your negativity and message of pessimism after you were banished from the German visa thread for the same reason. I BIND YOU!!! Why do you only always have the bad situations to cite. Why is it that you have never had a story to tell about someone who made it. At least, he made mention of 3 of his friends who got jobs there. Several news similar to this, I also regularly hear of. Is it that good things do not happen around you there. This is beyond you claiming that you like to speak reality rather than give fantasies. You need to check deep within; do some soul searching.

You are a fool, big fool, with just 1million naira a reasonable, logical person will start a business that wil fetch you over to 1 million naira every month, what were you thinking?, Nigeria has its numerous problems, but its still a country with numerous business opportunities its like a gold mine, you just have to open your eyes and see, people are starting business with about 200,000 and making about 350,000 per month, started my business jointly with my mum with about 700,000 and its making about 800,000 profit every month, in dis economy and present day Nigeria when you look at sectors like AGRICULTURE, TRANSPORTATION, ADVERTISING, CONSUMER FOOD PRODUCTION, SALES and lots more , its just dat most youths are stupid and lazy, you should have listened, to your mum, you might still find a job, but you can never reach your full potential especially financially with those kind of jobs, as an entrepreneur, that amount you spent is enough to start a profitable business for over 100 hardworking entrepreneurs
Bros, take it easy. You could have made your point without labelling him a fool. That would have been more decent and civilized. Tell us, what business fetches you these returns?

No...
Power engineering technologist (2 or 3 years diploma grads) that usually get paid more than Petroleum engineers(Bs/BEng) are actually process operators/steam operators/boiler operators/stationary engineer/building operator e.t.c.
Even though they are called power engineers, they differ from real Power engineers (Electrical). Do not mix them up.

To become a 4th/5th class power engineer(entry level) in Canada, you would need one of the three below:

1. Power engineering technology diploma from a community college or polytechnic+Pass Provincial exams.

2. Online learning+Pass Provincial exams

3. Self study+Pass Provincial exams

You would find them working in industries/places/buildings where you have sream boilers operating. They became high demand when SAGD technology was discovered in the athabasca oil fields. I believe the deman has gone down, but they make tones of money 'if' employed in the oil industry...because they work in remote locations, 12hrs shift per day or night and work lots of overtime.

Since i mentioned PLT's, its not difficult to figure out where i work. Wrt to your degree from Germany, you can work in engineering firms, but you would need to pass provincial licensing exams for mechs, then find a company that would be willing to intern you for a couple of years.

Mehn! Looks like I have found a guiding light in ca already! My course content for the Msc program, coupled with my first degree in mech eng can make me fit in as a boiler and steam operator. Talking about internship, must I write a certification exam to secure one? Cant I get one between my study; like students in the US and Europe do, and hopefully, get retained? On to power generating plants in ca, what are the conditions attached to working here, and how lucrative is it?

i never mentioned anything bout getting goods job or not with msc in canada. This topic is not a canadian diploma vs certificate vs msc thread. But still at that, someone with an msc or phd stands a better chance on the express entry system than someone with a pg dip or cert. Its a point based system.

Yes. An ordinary diploma can get you a good job. The way things work in canada is somehow different from the rest of the world. Where I work, alot of powerline technicians make more money than our engineers or technologist.

Starting wages
before tax.
Journeyman PLT: $100k.
Technologist: $78k
Engineers: $98k

I havent seen my company hire a pgcert or pgdip. If they do, they would likely employ based on your degree. Pddip or pgcert is not common in western canada. I think it's an ontario thing.
Talking about powerline technicians earning more than even engineers, you further corroborated what I have heard about power engineers getting paid higher wages than even petroleum engrs in Canada. I will be going for my Msc in Power Engineering (I have got a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering) this october at a university highly rated and ranked best technical university in Germany- Technical University of Munich. I intend to port to Canada after the program. How are my chances of securing employment in Canada from Germany with this prog?
What kind of company do you work with in Canada?

Gosh..... i hate round and round circle in bold. .. May we never get caught up in this circle . It can be frustrating

That why me i recommend students checking other options such as applying for Canada PR when they are students in the US so at least u have a definte path to citizenship outside of Naija and if u miss d USA so much u go back later as a Canadian which is an easier work permit TN visa..... instead of this round and round and round and can be back to square one with nothing.
So, in essence, your F-1 visa gives you an advantage in applying for and securing a Canadian PR? Is it available to only students in the US? What route does one go through for this, that differs from the current skilled workers programme going on?

Hello fam. I was going to apply for Bachelor of Petroleum Tech at SAIT, but the tuition turned me to Usain Bolt. However, I will be starting my MS in Power Eng in Germany, tuition-free, come October. I feel this is a smarter move, considering that the school is ranked top 60 globally. Ultimately, I would like to work in Canada after my study, as I have learnt that Power Engineers are highly remunerated in CA. What are the possibilities of securing employment with a Canadian firm from outside Canada? I am considering doing internship with a Canadian firm while studying. Are they known to give full-time employment to foreign-institution students who do internship with them, after their study?
Somebody, please...

Statements like this, made by your friend, just make me sick. I wonder why, we, members of the black race see ourselves as inferior to some other class of people academically. What a terrible mindset to possess. Someone just dealt you a knockout blow before you got a chance to get on the ring. Top electrical power eng courses are in TUM and RWTH Aachen, and you sure can get in. Other schools that you have listed have good programs too. TUM offers the best program, as it covers the mechanical and electrical dimensions of power eng. But, you already ruled out Munich owing to its cost of living. RWTH requires GRE quantitative score of 160 or something around this... The choice is ultimately yours to make.

Guys, a quick one. I am trying to book a flight on etihad airways. The quoted fare is $615. On wakanow, it is $630. Yes, I should normally book on the website of etihad airways. However, $630 converted to naira by wakanow itself on their website is N198,744. This corresponds to an exchange rate of N323 to $1. Etihad does not display the naira equivalent before I make payment. So, I may be charged at a rate higher than N323 of wakanow's. Anyone's got an idea what the rate of etihad usually is?
