jmoore: 1- The lady got pregnant for the man. After six months the man died in a car accident, she was left devastated.LOL...who is this guy? Which of your 3 "scenarios" cannot happen even after marriage with or without a pregnancy? |
AjanleKoko: Is Messi the only player to come out of the youth ranks?I am saying the article makes no point. It talks about giving the youth a chance; then it points out they all can't be like Messi. Of course that is the reason they are not being given the chance Messi was given! |
AjanleKoko: This totalbarca article captures my perspective on the way the current setup at FCB is treating young players coming through:At least I'm glad he realizes everybody isn't like Messi. So what's the point of the article? |
frodobee: Some babies and their cries. You will be tempted to do that- i have been tempted to that if only it will make the baby stop crying. Murder no!Are you in a psychiatric ward yet? If not, please provide details of your address so I can call them to pick you up ASAP. |
Mcleo007: Not read of that.. If at all, such a source is dubious. Messi is currently the hghest earner in world football in terms of gross earnings from endorsements.Time and again, Neymar had pointedly stated that he wants to play with Messi. I remember a time where he and Pele were stoking some flames; but just before Barca played Santos at the Club World Cup he changed his tune to one of respect for Messi and Barca. I think Dani Alves had something to do about that. And the demolition of Santos left him in no doubt about how Barca and Messi compared to both Santos and him. Yes nothing is concrete, but Neymar does not rival Messi directly: his preference is to play from the wings. If country rivalry was an issue, Dani Alves would not be so supportive of Messi; and the partnership between Maradona and Careca would not have worked. Footballers as professionals know the difference between playing for club and country. This is a quote of what Neymar said a while back: "I am a Messi fan. I was told what he did today. I support him to score a lot of nice goals so I can keep copying and imitating him."He obviously knows who the shot-caller is, and he will gradually step into that role as Messi's role dwindles in about 5 years from now. By the way: On 8 May 2013, Neymar was rated by SportsPro magazine as the most marketable athlete in the world, ahead of Lionel Messi (2rd) and Cristiano Ronaldo (8th) |
Mcleo007: Acquiring him, for me is a smart business move. He comes very close to Messi and CR7 in terms of player marketability. At his very tender age, look at the many endorsements and image rights he's managed to gulp. Kudos to Rosell and the Barca board for pulling this one out successfully.Dude have you read the news lately? He's even ranked higher than Messi in marketability! |
dayokanu: Robinho and Diego also painted Santos red with goals and awesome performances before flopping in EuropeThere is a difference between "painting with goals" and winning. How many Copa Libertidores and Brazilian Serie A Championships did Robinho win with Santos? |
Loud music. Most likely culprit. Constant loud music can do wonders; especially when rain has soaked into the walls of the house. |
that still doesn't leave the fact that for some persons, the only reason i wouldn't put a bullet in your head and steal all your money is because they believe there is a God out there watching.
So who is the real civilized man: the man who needs the fear of God to act right, or one that acts right even with the conviction that there is no God or afterlife? |
AjanleKoko: Hard not to be skeptical of Brazilian players, when you think about Robinho, and Adriano.Well then, to feel better when you think of Brazilian players, think of Ronaldinho, Romario, Dani Alves (of 4 years ago and not the recent one ) etc. Do not focus on the flops. I have identified the reason many Brazilians have been flopping and it's simply because they were all being forced through the Ronaldo De Lima route. Not every player leave the shores of Brazil untested and deliver. People like Romario and even Ronaldinho were well tested before they made the move. And at 21, Neymar has been tested at Santos. Mind you Adriano was not a flop; he simply suffered a psychological breakdown. Just one of the dangers of leaving your country so young to another where you basically find yourself all alone. |
AjanleKoko: I'm referring to Robinho's monumental flop in Europe.I understand you. What I mean is, I don't agree they will travel similar route simply because Neymar delivered for Santos. Unlike Robinho. You cannot compare their achievements. Winning is a habit that is difficult to forget and Neymar has proven he is a winner. He knows how to grind out wins; and helped Santos on their best run since Pele. Remember Robinho was there before him. Robinho is best compared to Denilson who had barely won anything and therefore not well tested enough before being brought to Europe on an outrageous transfer fee (simply based on promise and the skill of leg-overs). Real Betis is still yet to recover from the Denilson blunder. |
AjanleKoko: The odds don't favor him much, everybody seems to think he's another Robinho in the making. Not true. Remember Robinho also came from Santos? Well, while Robinho was only known for making an unreasonable number of leg-overs per minute, Neymar actually was behind the best run Santos had since the time of Pele! |
Mcleo007: Something must be wrong somewhere, and unless it is resolved, the case might travail as it is.Oh yes, that something is called "age". Unfortunately, the only resolution is to go back in time. |
9jaganja: This kind of behaviour to me is only common in people who will never let go their past and have no forgiving heart. People with that kind of character often end up blaming everyone who doesn't agree with them. That's one characteristic of a psychopath.LMAO...see professional psychologist o! Psychoanalysis inspired by weed indeed. Ever heard of "don't start no'n, there be no'n"? People start things and then utter the kind of gibberish you've been spewing when it's their turn to suffer. I am sure you are one of those fools who always make noise about Karma. You cannot run from your past. It will continue to torment you at every turn. |
Wow seems Neymar wanted to join Barca really bad.
Oh yes, the allure of playing alongside Messi proved too irresistible. He had always said he wanted to play with Messi. ![]() |
Mcleo007: Villa is the sole reason they can. With him, we have a natural 9 who can finish up attacking moves. Thus, against difficult teams and crafty coaches, we can play a 4-5-1 with Villa as the spearhead in attack.Dude have you seen Villa lately? He doesn't have what made him the top Spanish striker anymore. |
Mcleo007: Now is the best time to get Matts Hummels who just ended this season without a trophy and knows his chances at silverware next time is not on the good note. Dortmund is ready to part with some of their top players; Lewandowski, Gotze, Gundogan and some more, wch will deplete the team. He's willing to come, and we can gt him for cheap. Why not Subotic? He's just 24. |
irokop: I dont understand how some ppl think atimes, islam is peaceful bla blabla bla, this boy came frm a christian home as we all know muslims dont bea micheal, now when this boy was a christian he did not kill cos of jesus christ as soon as he become muslim baily five years ago he killed some body in the name of alaha, ppl should wise up men.Really? What do you think is the equivalent of "Mukaila" many Yoruba Muslims bear? Mikail or Mukail is the Islamic equivalent of Michael. He probably used the Western (Christian) version to blend into the British society. |
The fact that you're even talking about Him connotes that you sure know He exists but you're struggling with your ego in admitting it.
Brilliant! The fact that we talk about Alice in Wonderland and fairies mean they exist. Logic at its peak. |
To The Owner of Nairaland - Seun. Firstly, I'll say kudos to the good job you've been doing here, bring people together to share their thoughts on informative, educative and instructive topics. God bless you. However, this I have against you: You put out so many rules to serve as guidelines on how we're to comport and moderate ourselves here but you never gave an exception that, when it comes to addressing God, there is an exception. All in the name of driving traffic here and yes, making money, you allow people talk to God anyhow without banning them--after all, they're responsible for whatever they say, let God Himself judge them. You're wrong! You own the site. So, that makes you responsible for whatever people say. You're abetting slander/blasphemy against God by keeping quiet while some ingrate who call themselves atheists, mock and ridicule God all in the name of expressing their opinion. The first person you ought to reverence here is God! If people abuse themselves or say dirty things, they're banned immediately; but if the same people slander/blaspheme God, you treat them like heroes. God is watching. As for the topic, the human brain is a faculty that never forgets. The term 'forget' only becomes real and applicable when we fail to react, negatively, to whosoever has wronged us before; thus the term "forgive and forget."
Ogbeni so nu jo... |

DT Exclusive: Neymar decides between offers from Barcelona and Wigan http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-dirty-tackle/dt-exclusive-neymar-hears-compelling-offers-two-clubs-170746926.html Read ![]() |
sholatech: Congrats to Bayern Munich!! And we have Pep Vs Mourinho again for the European Super Cup??Hahaha...Chelsea is so DEAD. |
It's become annoyingly predictable; either Barca wins it, or who ever beats Barca wins it. |
jackbauersballs: Shocked beyond words.Actually we shouldn't be surprised. We've seen even more ghastly characters in Government. It's no surprise. It explains our situation. |
...and this loose canon was actually making decisions as a member of the Nigerian Government? |
Wahala90: Don't be confused. or sleep don dey catch you? I mean in Madrid. Unlike Fergie's first three seasons at ManU where he spent alot of cash and won nothing (no disrespect). Meaning Spending is not a guarantee to winning titles the way Mou got them.Sarcasm is wasted on you. ![]() |
Wahala90: No, you are wrong. He won the LaLiga, CopaDelrey and the SuperCup.You mean he won the Copa Del Rey of the 17th of May, 2013? |
Wahala90: I can't base my argument strongly on "if"Oh sure you can. There was a reason I included Frank's name in my post. You see, a lot of people list great coaches and his name always somehow gets missing from those lists. Now let me brief you: Frank was brought into Barca after a 6 year drought and total domination by Real Madrid. So basically the circumstances at Barca at the time were similar to Real Madrid's when Mourinho joined. The difference was, Frank delivered, and with a much less expensive team: 1. Won La Liga title twice. 2. Ended the Real Madrid domination (even beating Real Madrid twice at The Bernabeu and being the first coach to do that with Barca...not even Cruyff did that!) 3. Won Champions League. He basically was employed under the same terms as Mourinho, but difference was he delivered. ![]() |
Wahala90: Spending cash on players does not guarantee a league title. Ask Fergie.Um, you mean ask Mourinho? Couldn't even win Copa Del Rey with a squad worth over 400 million Euros. |
Wahala90: Portugal, England, Italy and SpainTrust me, a lot more coaches would have done that, if they were as migratory as the Only One. Fabio Capello for instance. And even Frank Rijkaard. |
dayokanu: Mourinho left in 2007/2008 seasonSo basically, with the crop of players he assembled, many coaches were even more successful right? ![]() I always laugh when I read "he won with unknown Porto, blah blah blah, Inter Milan...etc". His win with Porto does not come close to Louis van Gaal's wins with Ajax in the mid 90's. That team was very much an unknown. Starting with Chelsea, he always had more than enough cash to assemble a winning squad. All he did in Spain was try to create a knockoff version of Barca. They will always be remembered as nothing but an imitation. |
