Politics › Re: Arewa To Abolish Indigene-settler Policy by logica(m):
Is it a person that comes to Yoruba land holding such idiotic opinions such as "Yorubas are dirty", "Yoruba women are promiscuous" that should be given freedom as an indigene or be forever seen as a foreigner? After all he sees himself as one (a foreigner) already, so why should the hosts see him as anything else?

Funny people. As a black man, you are lucky to be born in this era. Any other generation and you would wish you were never born.

Ezeufi: Only those of pee size of a brain share your views. I have put a black friend of mine in a jail cell for calling me a Nigga in a night club in Cardiff. I warned him, and he insisted that its ok for a blackman to call another blackman nigga. In those days I used to have dreadlocks just as a hairstyle. Then he went on to say "you fake rasta you deny your identity"....; (To this fool, nigga is an identity to be proud of) That was the last straw and I called the police, he admitted using the nigga word hoping that the police won't mind because he was black. Guess what? he was nicked and spent the rest of the night in jail.
Mugu. Do you know the difference between "nigger" and "nigga"?

Slicqy prizzy: I was almost in tears when I read this article.
My two elder sisters were born in Nigeria, and they have Yoruba names attached to their family names.
My mum tells me so much about Nigeria. She can even speak Yoruba, up till now. I really wish to visit there some day, just to see how the place looks like.
Please wait a bit for us to do some house cleaning before you come. cheesy

AjanleKoko: Also, we are not the only people parading short fullbacks. Rafael, Alaba, Marcelo, Concentrao, are all top fullbacks playing for big teams. None of them are six feet. What does that tell you?
They are not 6 feet but they are no aerial push-overs either: especially Alaba and Contrao. Yes, you may want to say Alba should not have been marking the scorer, but then who should he have marked amongst all the over 6 footer opponents in the 18? Being shorter does not stop you from disturbing the opponent enough that he misses. You should know that Puyol is not the tallest defender, but it will be a very strange day if Puyol were to be beaten in an aerial battle.

afam4eva: This particular Nigerian gave an account of his stay in Nigeria. There were also Ghanians all over the country but Lagos will always have a huge chunk of them and Lagos is the closest Nigerian state to Ghana. While i was in Port-hacourt there were loads of Ghanians teachers.
Then ask the Ghanaians you know stayed in Igbo land to write their memoirs if you have to feel left out because this one only had Yorubas to talk about. Abi?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by logica(m):
Stealthy: Yeah we really need to learn from it. Especially because all of Europe will watch this match and believe that if crappy Celtic can beat us 3-2 over 2 legs, then they also have a chance playing the same way.

I sure hope Tito and the club make the right decisions concerning player selection, tactics, players to buy, etc...

All the haters can celebrate, but if we learn the lessons, this can be an important step to win the UCL. I prefer to lose this kind of match and reflect over it than win after playing poorly and assume all is well.
It was 3-3 over 2 legs. cheesy

But yes, Barca is still yet to learn how to defeat bus parkers. You have said it all: Xavi should not be playing against bus parkers; direct players should play. Xavi turns such games into a game of Basketball/Handball where the attacking team forms a siege around the goal of the defending team. And Barca usually gets no penetration passing back and forth. To show Barca had completely not learned anything, it should be clear that you cannot score from wing crosses against bus parkers; there are just too many bodies in the way. So in such games we don't even need Dani Alves providing his usual form of attack. You need to drill a hole with clever play through the center of defense like they did in the first goal at the Camp Nou (and like the interplay between Villa and Iniesta in the La Liga goal over the weekend); or turning a forceful defender like Pique to a false 9 like the goal he scored against Inter Milan 3 seasons ago.

ALSO, Messi and Iniesta should be drawing more fouls around the box when playing such teams. Those are the games they need to draw fouls, and score from the resulting free-kicks.

And this is another reason to regret having to bring in another dwarf (Jodi Alba) to the defense. It's all nice to bring La Masia products back home but Jodi has been causing a lot of harm in the defense. You JUST cannot afford to concede a goal against bus parkers.

Good lessons for Tito to chew on and prepare for the long line of bus parkers that Barca will now constantly face; since they've now learned that you can indeed get good results against Barca by parking the bus.

Clemzy16: ...and some people would still say military form of govt is evil. Was this 70s and 80s not the same era that military was in governmental power?! I know coup has its own dis-advantages. But my question is.. What have we achieved so far with democracy?! Simple: Corruption et al.. That is why we have the ExecuTHIEVES, LegisLOOTERS and JudiSHARING. They thief, loot and share.
Why are you trying to be clever when you are not? Did the dip also not occur during a military government? What this should tell you is, if it was a democratic (civilian) government we had right from the 70s, the prosperity would have lasted.

Tony Spike: I don't think Congo was so crappy then as it is now. Congo was a beehive of scientific and economic research around that period, so also was Nigeria. Somehow, things got derailed and gradually collapsed around the mid-80's and beyond. You can even see Sudan on the list. The only African country on the list that's a little consistent is South Africa. From what I've heard, many Africans were looking up to Nigeria. Also, many Africans prayed to visit Nigeria, at least, in their lifetime. Today, reverse is the case...
Yes. Even a lot of black South Africans came to Nigeria to study (university education). While it is true the collapse started in the 70s, without doubt the runaway corruption of the Babangida era was the nail in the coffin. Basically what I am saying is, at the time Babangida came in we needed a government to diversify our economy. Rather what we got was a complete monkey who was only interested in becoming a billionaire by any means. Apparently the Buhari/Idiagbon regime did much better.

yuzedo: Park well you dis sp(e)rm-slurper! Since you are so slow, i'll explain once: Proximity from Ghana to Western Nigeria is closer than Ghana to Eastern Nigeria!
The only holes i'll be entering are the orifices your fat girlfriend forgets to wash. Proper sanitation will precede my excursion, of course.
Dare to respond? You are surely deluded young man! Oh wait, you must be Conan the destroyer, The Balogun 1 of your cocoa-selling tribe! undecided
... My friend don't piss me off this afternoon abeg.
Sango strike your entire lineage dead. So the extra 8 hours to Eastern Nigeria is too much if it was worth it? You think Ghanaians would not have taken an extra 8 hour journey to the East if it was WORTH IT? Try again, monkey. Oh, maybe it's the same proximity that explains the mass exodus out of the East.

Tony Spike: From all indications, the deterioration of Nigeria started from mid-1980s. I understand that the then Head-of-State, General Babangida, was responsible for flushing out lots of foreigners especially from our academia, industries and hospitality business. As a personal experience, an auditor I know lost more than 15 Indian companies from his pool of clients between 1990 and 1998. It was also He, Babangida, that destroyed this country called Nigeria. I still can't believe he wants to come back to rule after all the economic, political and intellectual abyss he plunged Nigeria into. As for the Ghanaian that wrote this piece, at least you remember Nigeria was good back in those days. Front Page please!!!
Check this out:

Nigeria was 10th in the list of countries with the highest immigration targets in the early 80s.

And how about the thousands of Igbo people already "wasted" by this same Boko Haram? I suppose this man's death outweighs the deaths of thousands of Igbo people. Do you realize that you are insinuating that his life is worth more than thousands of Igbo people?
