Oahray: The fact that Barca and Madrid are dominating does not make the other laliga teams trash.
That's what I've been trying to point out. Apart from Dortmund and Barca, only Malaga have gotten a favorable result against Real Madrid without playing a defensive game. That says a lot about Malaga.

deeplow: ...

I laugh at first and second in europe...I argue not ewith u about their weights in european football, buh it is too much to say that they would occupy the top 2 spots.we both know epl is a much tougher league in terms of defending.barcelona's tiki taka would hardly break a rugged stoke defence.the reason the ballon d'or winners have been from spain is that,la liga is easy.we can both agree that messi would never score 45 goals a season n 60goals in the next season in d epl.even ronaldo, would have found it hard to replicate his 2008 form if he stayed in the epl
Remember I said a few upsets here and there could happen, but don't put too much into the defensive acumen of English clubs. Spanish clubs have dominated even in the Europa league and that should tell you something.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 11:34pm On Jan 07, 2013
coogar: use your common sense when arguing on this section.
barca and real madrid will not dominate in the epl cos they won't be able to afford the wages of messi, xavi and iniesta. in la liga, tv deals are negotiated independently and it pays about £100m each to the spanish giants. in england, all the tv proceeds are pooled together and shared fairly equally amongst the 20 clubs. grab a book and read.
See this fool. What does sharing of proceeds have to do with anything? How come Man U, Man City and Chelsea can pay their players and dominate the league? From the silly arguments you've been putting forth all night I don't need to argue with you. Are you not the same fool claiming Maradona's Napoli was like some low league club in England? What do you know about football, really?

Tbh taking his play in d league and the euros into consideration, he matched the Barca duo in terms of performances delivered
Did you hear PIM from Pirlo in the final against Spain?

deeplow: The least attendance there could ever be in an Epl match is 15,000,no matter d teams playing.d truth of the matter is,take barcelona and real madrid out of it and you have a boring league in la liga.when was the last time another club won d league in la liga?the competitiveness, which is what makes a league interesting is missing in la liga.
You see, Barca and Real may be miles ahead in Spain, but they are also miles ahead in Europe (forget one or two upsets here and there). If they both move to England, they will be first and second in England. Basic. But speaking of 2-horse race, it's no more different from England where Man U and Chelsea have dominated for years. 2007/2008 season saw Barca come third! If Real is not careful they will come third this season. I don't need to tell you much about Athletico and Malaga. I'm sure you've seen what the former did to Chelsea and what the latter recently did to Real and how they topped their group in the Champions League.

deeplow: Yet again,u've made a valid point.buh, have u tried to compare the attendance in a getafe vs celta vigo match to a getafe vs Barcelona match?the truth of the matter is,despite the recession, they still try to fill d stadium to an appreciable level.to me,that's the only time they think they are promised an entertaining encounter.the koko is that,it is only barca and madrid that make la liga.
Yes of course. Who doesn't want to watch Messi when he and company roll into town? Which outstanding players do Getafe or Celta Vigo have? How many people watch a Portsmouth vs Southampton game? Are they always filled up?

Those are big clubs. Big clubs have big fan bases. Small clubs with financial trouble and having very small fan bases will definitely suffer even more. For instance, fans come from all over the world to watch Barca games.

How can Andrea Pirlo with the season he had with Juve and his performances for the Azzuri @ the euros not make the team?

Absolutely Ridiculous. My Dog bingo would have come with a better list than that.
Who should he replace in that mid-field? Iniesta, Xavi or Alonso?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 10:54pm On Jan 07, 2013
Debroslink: APART FROM MICHU, WHO ELSE IS A STRIKER 4RM LALIGA DAT MOVED TO THE EPL? U DON'T EXPECT MATA, YAYA, SILVA, CAZORLA TO BECOME TOP SCORERS SINCE THEY ARE NOT STRIKERS!!!
Exactly. And apart from Torres moving from Athletico to Liverpool, I don't know any other big profile move from Spain to England. It's usually the other way round. Players are always looking for a bigger club to move to. And if you are playing in England, you just know you've never played for the biggest club in the world (the aspiration of every player). That's why Man U players usually target Real Madrid.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 10:45pm On Jan 07, 2013
Simple answer: it will be hard for a player going from Spain to England to win the top scorer award because you are likely a reject. But the vice versa is not true. Most players from England move to bigger clubs in Spain and therefore are not rejects. But let's see how Michu does this season; he could prove me wrong.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 10:30pm On Jan 07, 2013
Reject? Let's clarify what "reject" means. When you move to a bigger club, you cannot be called a reject. Case in point Torres: he went to Liverpool from Athletico Madrid? That's definitely moving to bigger things. Another example C Ronaldo from Man U to Real Madrid for a record transfer fee. Is that a reject?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 10:18pm On Jan 07, 2013

timbros: I see no point in arguing with someone who cant keep insults out of his comments. If you dont see the "even if" in my post and discern that the Valdes example there is just what it is - an example, then I dont have anything else to say to you. Thank you.
Arguing? You can argue when you have a point; not when you want to expose your ignorance and at the same time want to appear like you know anything. So who just started watching football? You or me?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 10:01pm On Jan 07, 2013
deeplow: Yes,yes,yes...better football is played in La liga compared to EpL,buh what is the essence of a league that has little or no competition.attendance is zero..most times, when I watch highlights of la liga matches,I get disappointed.u can hardly have an attendance of 5,000 in matches between the lower la liga teams.dat means even their fans aren't interested in watching them.hardly would u find a viewing centre(in nigeria) dat will show a la liga match not involving the giant 2.truth be told,la liga is boring.oh,lest I forget, messi is the greatest player ever.messi till 2016
If you are abreast of world events, you would know Spain is in a recession. Could that have affected attendance? Think about it.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 9:51pm On Jan 07, 2013
timbros: So are you saying that minus the 17 goals he got assisted, he will just collect the ball from an opponent and go straight and score? So he doesnt get ANY pass from a team mate even if it is from his own half? Dont you know that even if it is Valdes that gave him a pass from his post and he took it from there to the opponents post and score, Valdes gets the assist? Did you start watching football yesterday?
You are a m0r0n of unbelievable proportions. Have you ever seen a Valdes assist? Check Valdes stats and tell me how many assists he had last season. Not every goal is classified as "assisted". Apparently you are the one who just started watching football.

And yes, many of the goals came from "steals" where he dispossessed an opponent. Give it up already.

elampiro: Silva will walk into any team 1st 11. He is better than Fabrergas and Mordic.
Apparently he CRAWLED into the Spanish squad because he has no place in the 1st eleven so long as Xavi, Iniesta and Alonso remain alive and fit.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 9:44pm On Jan 07, 2013
timbros: Barca have never beaten an 11 man Chelsea before. NEVER!!!
And who asked them to lose a man? Was it Barca that forced their players to play rough and see red? Do you know how football works? So if I give you pressure and you lose your head and get a red card whose business is that? All these silly nonsense propagated by Mourinho and repeated by his fan of zombies.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 9:39pm On Jan 07, 2013
Sike: Truth be told, Messi cheated from Xavi and Iniesta. Because without these two, Messi can never be this Messi. Obvious reason he keeps failing his National Team. Let him try other Club for confirmation.
Trust me, most of Messi's goals are COMPLETELY UNASSISTED. I once said this, and somebody proved me right by putting a video of all Messi's goals last year (91). According to the video, Messi only had 17 assists. The rest of the goals, he created all by himself. This is a dude that takes on entire teams beating 4/5/6 players before scoring; and you still make senseless noise about Xavi/Iniesta assistance? Get real.

And for your info, he's been made captain of Argentina, the team built around him and he's been delivering steady. You are hanging on to stale news from 3 years ago.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 9:29pm On Jan 07, 2013
deltadegre: Congratulations to Leo Messi for winning the ballon d'or...

Honestly,Iniesta/Ronaldo deserved this more than him,i know he scored a lot of goals but they weren't important such as Ronaldos or Iniesta's assists/goals,anyway Respect for Messi.

BUT:

Did you notice the Fifa team of the year? Well here it is:
FIFA world team of the year: Casillas, Alves, Pique, Ramos, Marcelo, Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Falcao, Ronaldo.
I completely disagree with this list!!!
This is La Liga team of the year!!!
Where is Cech,Cole,DIDIER DROGBA,Pirlo, Yaya Toure, Aguero etc Fifa??
In which twisted world is Alves better than Cole??
Ramos as a CB?
Kompany,Terry,Hummels aren't better?
Soo biased..What a shame.............
Alves and Cole don't play the same positions. Ramos is an outstanding defender for club and country. The only times he gets shown up are in the Clasicos. Kompany is NOT world class. He's one of the reasons why Man City with all their spending and stars can't do well in Europe. See how he ducked a shot at goal by Ronaldo against Real in the last minute to get what I'm talking about.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 9:06pm On Jan 07, 2013
elampiro: So Yaya Toure couldn't make one of the two best midfield players? He won the EPL and was 2nd in African nations cup.
I feel sorry for Yaya. 3 mid-fielders were chosen and 2 of them are standard "world best": Xavi & Iniesta. That leaves Alonso. Alonso will surely get it being a standard member of the Spanish Squad that won the European Cup. Spain has so many mid-fielders who may even be considered ahead of Yaya simply because of the profile of the country they hail from.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 8:49pm On Jan 07, 2013
And one more thing; if you are a lover of football, good football, delicious football, tune in this weekend as Malaga host Barca. That will be a bigger cracker than Malaga vs Real.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D'or Award by logica(m): 8:46pm On Jan 07, 2013
And for that talk about Chelsea and Bayern beating Barca and Madrid, anybody who knows enough about football will know both Barca and Madrid killed each other by putting so much energy into the Clasico. If not for that, the Champions League final should have been Barca vs Real.
