gboss4sure: Go and ask you Grandfather to tell you the true story about the war. What happened before Biafra invaded mid west? Tell me or did they just invade mid west?
LOL. Luckily I am able to read. I don't need a dead man to tell me any stories. I'll keep it very short since you bit the bait: the fastest way to losing a war is to lose your friends/allies. That should be clear enough.

Zeus I: That is to show how foolishly you think, so you would let your worst enemy to supply your food and feed your children in times of hostility? Barbarians never had brains which why they act like robbot and end up commiting sucide like their paragon(an antagonist in regards to his pre-conceived sheme against Igbos) and sage. Tell me one true yoruba man who has never been a fool? Of course you know that OBJ is fathered by an Igbo(until proven otherwise), and i doubt Soyinka is a full yoruba man. Hoards of dullardic-barbarians.
LMAO. How can a baboon comprehend that a beggar cannot be a chooser? You were given an option, you rejected it and now you are crying. Let me ask you again...who is crying over the rejection of the food leading to hundreds of thousands starving to death? Let me give you a hint since you are too dumb: definitely not me.

1stCitizen: The whole Biafra issue should be revisited and key players should be held accountable including the Nigerian Government who should be made to compensate the victims and their families as appropriate. The Armenian genocide by the Ottoman empire that started from 1915 is still a hot issue today.

Many here remind us that our brothers from across the Niger have no regard for human life. grin Well if a people went through what we have seen in still images(war atrocities)then spilling blood for whatever reason may not be a big deal any more and it will pass from generation to generation. True accountability should prevail and the people involved compensated. A healing process is never too late.
Let the Biafrans start by compensating the people of the Mid-West whom they attacked and where several heinous crimes occurred. Back to the basics.

sleek29: and then it was in humane for the Nigerian Government led my Yakubu Gowon to employ the tactics he used to win the war
Guy forget that one. Are you aware Ojukwu was offered a means for food to be delivered but he turned it down claiming the food had been poisoned? Now tell me, which sensible soldier/tactician would think the Federal Government would poison food and send to Biafra knowing how much damage this will do to them in the international community? That would simply make the entire international body sympathetic towards Biafra. That's just by the way; there are means for determining whether or not food is poisoned - feeding animals with a bit of the food being the most basic. This is not rocket science is it? There was no tactic to starve Biafrans; rather Ojukwu starved them.

It may just be time to put these jokers on permanent ignore as they obviously suffer from a bad spell of mental illness. They keep trying to use one form of untruth or the other to score points thinking that portrays intelligence only to get shown up for the dummies that they are.

@Eko Ile

I suspect that page was removed by either the journalist or the editor when they realized how stup!d the article would make their newspaper appear; as it obviously completely changed the words of Wole Soyinka (maybe in the hope that nobody would notice).

tuasefemi: "the Igbo were victims of genocide during the three-year civil war, which was fought to break up Nigeria."

Of course this is a fact!
Are you sure you can read? Are you quoting Wole Soyinka or the journalist? The actual quote from Wole Soyinka in the article is below:

“people who’d been abused, who’d undergone genocide, and who felt completely rejected by the rest of the community, and therefore decided to break away and form a nation of its own.”

There is a reason it is surrounded by, wait for it, QUOTES.
but obtained by THISDAY yesterday, said the Igbo were victims of genocide during the three-year civil war, which was fought to break up Nigeria.

Soyinka, however, justified the secession bid and described Biafrans as “people who’d been abused, who’d undergone genocide, and who felt completely rejected by the rest of the community, and therefore decided to break away and form a nation of its own.”
Can any discerning mind see the difference between the highlighted in red? Stup!id journalists at it again. Obviously the genocide Soyinka referred to (the section highlighted in red) was the killing of Igbos in the North BEFORE the Civil War began. That was then changed to "DURING" completely changing Soyinka's words.

Mind you, Soyinka's sentiment are not much different from the prevailing Yoruba sentiment BEFORE the ill-conceived march towards Lagos and attack on the Mid-West changed all that.

afam4eva: I agree that we should go back to regionalism but i won't support that the 36 states should be abolished as suggested by Chief Edwin Clark. Dissolving states will also give some groups the power to lord over others.
Ohh. So you support the creation of Gowon eh?
Politics › Re: Aregbesola - Governors Not Chief Security Officers by logica(m):
People will keep asking silly questions.

If it's the fear of using State Police for intimidation, it's already happening even with the Federal Police - some governors have been known to use the Police Force to intimidate opponents. You forget that the NPF is a mercenary organization - they dance to the tune of the highest bidder.

Secondly financing - state governors have since been financing the NPF stationed in their states from various sources including the security votes. So State Police will merely make it official.

Lastly, it doesn't take a genius to know that it makes no sense to deploy men who have no affiliation to a particular state to manage its security. You bring a man from Bauchi to Lagos to secure Lagos? What sense does that make? He wasn't born in Lagos. He doesn't reside in Lagos. He has no emotional attachment to Lagos. If Lagos burns he's not much concerned. If a crime occurs, he has no clue where to start from. He can't speak the local language(s). Does that make sense? So I don't even understand why there's even an argument in the first place.

Take for instance the case of the kidnapped wife of the Osun state politician - a palm wine tapper provided the information leading to the arrests (of course the NPF tried to claim they made the arrests). But he contacted the vigilante unit and not the NPF. He has no trust for the NPF. And why is this? So many reasons which all stem from the fact that they are not indigenous.

“Along the line, two policemen came around. One of them was pleading, the other one even joined in the beating. After beating the boy, the police now asked that they hand over the boy over to them,” Ugbaje said.
If both policemen were working towards the same goal (as one of the policemen was pleading), what I can deduce from the above was the other policeman that beat the boy simply did it to get the mob on their side and believe they would "handle" the boys properly (as in punish them and not allow them escape).

For those talking crap without an understanding of how things work, note that the woman is a sales rep. You think you can sell (especially in the US) without actually applying a particular image? In the sales department, image is everything. It's only in Nigeria that a sales man with tattered clothes still expects to make a killing.

pro01: I guess this is because women are more curious than men. So let's say they are merely curious about how the app works, thus the disproportionately high percentage of downloads by females. After all, women don't cheat, so they really do not need the app. Abi no be so?

SMH in pity for 'real men'. Ignorance is indeed bliss.
I sense some sarcasm in there. Or am I wrong? In any case, men are more curious than women when it comes to technical matters and gadgets. I would also like to ask anybody who installed the app whether it actually captures the gender of the user (because I realize this is irrelevant to the function of the app). Because if it doesn't, I wonder how they got the stats.
